How to Release and Erase Memories of People and Events

Memories are something that only exist in our mind as a mental construct and replay over and over due to the intense emotion associated with them. All of what becomes actual memory that we can vividly recollect in emotional detail years later comes from significant emotional events (SEE) that had a powerful impact on us in some way. These events and the memories we formed of them served to change us in the most fundamental sense, and as we continued to live out of them, they served to shape our identity and “who” we became because of them.

Memory and emotion are always connected due to the fact that the event caused a strong emotional reaction in us, and those emotions served to shape the nature of the experience we formed as an interpretation of some kind. Our “experience” doesn’t come as an objective recollection of the event itself, but how we processed and internalized it as a means of creating our experience of it. As we internalize an intense event, we make it “mean” something by the story we tell ourselves about it in an attempt to put it in perspective as a means of trying to make sense out of it. We take an existing reality as a strong emotional event and reprocess it to form a new version of it as our interpretation that gives it personal  meaning.

The meaning we give something as the means of experiencing it forms the basis for the storyline we begin telling ourselves that serve to shape us as a person. We create our identity out of the memories we constantly play out in one way or another as the means of producing more of the same type of experiences. They become thematic templates for producing instant interpretations as our perceptual lens and filtering system. They give us a form of referencing system to instantly interpret all new and similar type of events to mean the same thing. As we walk through life we’re always assessing and summing up situations by looking through the thematic filters of our past memories by saying “this means the same things as that”. We consistently shape the present to be a continuation of the past and a means of predicting the future.

We walk into any situation with preconceived notions and expectations of what’s going to happen, and we use a dynamic series of mental and emotional filters to only notice, abstract, and rearrange the information in a way that creates the experience of our expectations. We’re always saying to ourselves . . . this means I’m not wanted; that means I’m not loved; I’m not good enough; people can’t be trusted; life’s unfair; I can’t ever get ahead, and so on. We interpret any number of behaviors or actions to mean the same thing as those same types of actions meant to us in the past. Our memories provide us with a template for producing a congruent and consistent experience of reality that follows a major theme.

Because emotion is the key factor in forming all significant memories, it also acts as the “hook” that keeps us compulsively attached to them and that serves as a “trigger” for activating them. As we’re triggered emotionally we produce an immediate reaction that doesn’t require us to think about it in order to form a new appraisal. All reactions are instant and produce unconscious actions in us. We instantly access and replay the emotion, mindset, and behaviors of the memory being activated. As we’re triggered emotionally we literally go unconscious and act out of a delirious state.

Anytime we’re overly emotional or “sensitive” to the emotions being projected by others, we live our life out of memories of the past as automated patterns and create while unconscious and not utilizing our higher capacities to create in a self-aware, well thought out and intentional manner. Emotionally reactive people are unconscious in the most basic sense and are constantly being controlled and determined by whatever it is they’re reacting to. Their whole life is determined by and becomes a replay of their formative conditioning.

Subconscious and Self-Conscious Mind

What we refer to as our subconscious is the creative aspect of our mind that forms our experiences of reality. It’s the “passive” aspect of our mind that’s “receptive” in nature; while the self-conscious aspect is “active” and self-aware, and has the ability to “give direction” to the subconscious as a way of forming new patterns of interpretation and behaviors. The subconscious is “experiential” in nature, which means its “programmed” with pictures, images, and scenarios that it uses as a metaphorical template for perceiving reality and producing all of our natural behaviors that come in an automatic way without us having to think about them.

The subconscious is emotionally driven and prompted to take action based on impulses and strong emotional charges. It works to create our entire experience of reality and ourselves out of memories of experiences that are emotionally intense. We literally “act on ourselves” to program ourselves for creating reality based on memories we form and continue to live out of, and the emotional states they naturally act to produce and maintain. Anyone who lives out of memories of their past is literally delusional. They’re living a life of illusions that they themselves are creating without direct awareness of what they’re doing.

The Power of Identity

The truly elusive and compelling thing about our memories is that we’ve actually “used them” as the means of shaping ourselves by way of them. As we had impacting experiences and tried to make sense of them by explaining them to give them meaning, we simultaneously identified with our own imaginary experiences. As we form an internal experience in our mind as the “meaning” of events, we “sense ourselves” within our own self-created experiences, and we make it mean the same thing about us. Whatever we tell ourselves about why something happened and what it means about another person or the way life is, it also means about us in relationship with it, and we begin identifying with our own story about things.

As we shape our identity out of our self-created memories and story about things, we need to keep telling them in order to know who we are. We replay the same scripts over and over in our mind. For this reason giving up our story can be quite difficult. This is especially true when we’re not clear on what story we want to tell in its place. Often when we give up our story or lose what we’ve shaped ourselves around, we don’t know how to “be” different. In order to tell a new story, we have to give up our memories of the past and develop new ways of being. Without a distinct sense of purpose and direction this can seem a bit daunting and overwhelming.

We become so used to living out of an automated state over time that having to actually make conscious decisions, select new ideas, and develop ourselves in new ways can seem dry causing us to struggle with motivation in maintaining them, especially when compared to the intensity of our emotional past. It’s the emotions attached to an idea that makes it compelling and infuses it with a sense of passion and drama. Emotions act like drugs in our body, altering our state of mind, and when their maintained in a habitual manner, become addictive, causing us to literally crave them.

In order to take over the process of conscious self-creation we have to exercise the higher capacities of our mind to create in an original fashion. This requires not only truly deciding to let go of your past conditioning, but also deciding how you’re going to be instead. What kind of person are you going to create yourself to be and what kind of story are you going to tell by how you live your life? And then, once you make those decisions you have to learn how to intentionally utilize your imagination in order to both instruct your subconscious to release and let go of memories while simultaneously replacing them with new ones. You have to learn how to use your conscious, self-aware mind to direct and guide your subconscious on what to create as a new idea.

Because your subconscious operates out of memory as imaginary experiences, you have to develop new ideas as actual experiences that are vivid in sensory terms. You have to create what you want as a form a “virtual memory” that provides your subconscious with a pattern to produce natural characteristics and behaviors out of. You have to practice embodying new ways of being as a means of training your body to new behaviors. You have to give your subconscious new emotional memories and form new habits through consistent and repetitive practice.

As you let go of past memories you have to replace the void it creates with new ones, or you have to “re-imagine” existing ones to form a new experience of them. If you leave a void, your subconscious will automatically draw something in as a means of knowing what to do. The subconscious can’t make decisions as to what to use as a means of creating and relies solely on memories as habitual patterns and tendencies. It’s “seeded” with suggestions from the conscious mind that it then converts into a reality in the imagination and uses for creating an outer reality of the same nature. The subconscious is symbolic in nature, which means that all imaginary experiences intentionally produced as a desire for creating as an outer reality, are utilized as thematic ideas. So it won’t produce the exact same reality the way you imagined it, but rather adapt the idea to the current situation and environment to produce a corresponding version of the same idea.

Power of the Imagination

While many people believe imaginary processes are an illusion and not “real”, they’re actually the means for not only giving the subconscious direction for creating as an actual experience, but also the means by which we direct the forces of the natural world. As we think, we imagine and direct energy into the “forms” of our thoughts, giving them life inside of us. All “actual memories” are in fact created by “re-imagining” an event, and are established as a modified version based on how they’re interpreted, and consistently replayed in the imagination. All imaginary processes are how we use our conscious mind to communicate with and direct our subconscious, which uses them as “symbolic ideas” for creating as an experience of a similar nature.

Another common mistake people make is in thinking that memories aren’t created “in” or by the imagination, but are an actual recollection of objective events, that they equally interpreted in a neutral and objective fashion. Yet memories are based on how we “formed our experience” of events based on the emotional state we were in at the time and as an “interpretation”. We reform the elements of an event in our mind as the means of telling a story out of the emotion we were feeling. Then the memory is recalled and replayed in the faculty of the imagination, forming our perceptual lens as an instant interpretation, and as the means of producing more experiences of the same kind, while altering the memory to some degree every time it’s recalled based on how it’s adapted to the current situation to produce a variable. Memories are actually “living creations” of the soul itself and they consistently undergo an evolutionary process through adaptation and modification.

Due to the fact that the subconscious is emotionally motivated to perform certain actions, if we have a fear or apprehension around letting go of or erasing memories, it’ll either hang onto them out of a fear of letting go, or it’ll create an experience that’s scary, stressful, and fear based. The emotion itself “is” the directive for the subconscious to create “as” an experience. The image used is just the pattern as a process, and the emotion is how that pattern is shaped into an experience. The pattern is simply what’s used to express the emotion attached to it as the reality that invokes more of the same emotion. The subconscious naturally moves into anything that’s presented as being pleasurable, and away from anything that’s painful. So if change is presented as a hard or painful struggle of some kind, the subconscious will avoid it at all costs, and work to sabotage any willful effort to accomplish it.

The scope of this article is the process of letting go of memories and not the instruction on how to create new ones, which I have written several other articles on, and can be accessed by using the search feature on my website. If you’re feeling the least bit apprehensive or unsure of yourself in choosing to let go of your past in order to create a new you, then you should spend some time exploring the nature of your attachment to your story of the past and wait until it becomes an exciting and liberating idea. Letting go of the “known” in favor of the “unknown” can be terrifying to those who are new to the idea of conscious self-creation. There’s a great sense of security in familiarity and staying in your comfort zone, even when it’s been traumatizing and painful.

Letting go of the Past – the Process

Once you’ve decided to honestly let go of your past story and feel excited about creating yourself anew, you can start by selecting the memories you want to erase. These can either be ones that were incurred with a specific person or a certain type memories usually represented by a phase or period in your life. You want to become clear on which ones they are because it requires a hypnotic state and an imaginary process where you have to use your conscious mind to direct your subconscious on what to do. If you’re uncertain or vague in anyway, you’ll lose your thought process as soon as you become totally relaxed.

Once you’ve decided, you want to make sure you fully abstract the “life lesson” the memories held for you in terms of what they helped you to realize so you can retain that knowledge and not repeat past mistakes.

Meditative  Process:

  • Get into a comfortable position, either sitting upright in a chair with both feet flat on the ground, preferably touching, relaxing your hands on your lap or thighs, palms down; or by lying down flat on your back with your neck well supported, legs straight and feet touching and hands relaxed palms down on either your chest, abdomen, or thighs. It’s important that your spine is straight and you create a “closed system” energetically.
  • Get comfortable, then close your eyes and turn your full attention inward and start by focusing on your breathing. Take a couple of long, slow, deep breaths to relax, and mentally scan your body for any discomfort, making any adjustments necessary to produce a comfortable feeling. Then relax your breathing to a normal, rhythmic motion.
  • You want to “talk to yourself” as a means of walking yourself (subconscious) through an intentional process, telling yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing as a form of verbal instructions (directing the process involved).
  • Breathe in relaxation, exhale all tension and stress, and with each breath you feel your body relaxing.
  • Place your attention on your feet – picture your feet or center your attention on the sensations in your feet, and tell them to relax . . . then feel them relax. Once relaxed, move your attention up to your calves, tell them to relax, and feel them relaxing . . . do this all the way up your body to the top of your head, until you’re fully relaxed and somewhat unaware of your body.
  • Have a sincere and brief conversation with your body about how good it feels to relax . . . the more you relax the better it feels, and tell it that this is a “safe space” that’s created by you, and it’s okay to just relax and let go. . .  . speak to yourself with a firm yet comforting and soothing voice.
  • Connect with your higher source of power . . . imagine a sphere of beautiful white light directly above your head. Feel it’s love and warmth as a very pleasurable sensation, then mentally ask the light to enter you, or draw it down intentionally, and feel it as it completely fills your head, saturating your brain with a beautiful white light, soothing and comforting you . . . as you continue to pull it down into your throat, filling your throat area, then down into your chest . . . abdomen, and legs, and down to your feet. As you feel your body filled with the beautiful, warm sensation of the light, feel it’s protection and comfort, and reaffirm that this is a safe place and it’s ok to just let go and go deeper and deeper down . . . down into a peaceful feeling of calm relaxation . . .
  • Then picture the person (or event) the memories are associated with, and tell yourself that you’re going to abstract from your body all the energy and etheric substance or aka from the various organs and parts of your body they’re located – the body holds memory as emotion – tell your subconscious to become aware of all the sensations within your body associated with this person.
  • Place your attention on the sensations, and imagine them as a form of liquid light and visualize yourself using your hands to enter into and pull out the fluid-like energy of the emotion and memory from your organs and muscles . . . .  
  • Do this every place you feel the sensations of the memory, while accumulating it and rolling it into a ball.
  • Once it’s been surgically abstracted and formed into a ball of liquid light, tell yourself to find the aka (etheric) cords attached at the heart center, and cut them using  a dagger or knife. Imagine doing it and see it as disconnected completely from all parts of your body and as a ball of light in your hands, then mentally thank this person in a sincere manner for the lessons they served to teach you, and let go of the ball sending it back out into the universe to be recycled so it can benefit someone else.
  • Watch it floating in front of you and being projected away until it completely disappears into the dark. Tell yourself it’s gone forever and bid it farewell.
  • After it’s completely gone imagine a hand whisking your energy field briskly, clearing out all residue, then seal your aura and body with a bubble-like shield of light, telling your subconscious that it can’t ever come back in and will be deflected back out into the universe. That you’re protected and safe . . .
  • Sense your body free of the emotional sensations while telling yourself how good it feels. Create an anchor for this state as a picture or word that you use that will instantly produce the state and can be fired at will.
  • Introduce the new memory you want to replace it with, associating the emotional trigger of the old memory to the new one. Wait until you get the new memory just the way you want it, and then replay it over and over in your mind until it comes automatically in complete form.  Then produce the emotional feeling of the old memory while instantly playing the new memory in its place. Do this repeatedly until it becomes natural.
  • In order to conclude the session, say to yourself . . . “and so it is, and so must it be”. And slowly bring yourself back into conscious awareness while telling yourself that you’ll wake alert and feeling better than ever . . . .

Most hypnotic processes only require one session, depending on how deep you go and how proficient you are at processes of deep meditation that utilize guided imagery, and your confidence in guiding yourself. If it doesn’t work with one session, simply repeat until it becomes permanent. Change produced by subconscious programming can often be a bit tricky to realize because it comes by simply “forgetting”. You lose awareness of the memories because you no longer think about them, and can go weeks or even months before it dawns on you that you haven’t thought about it in a long time. When you do think about the memories, you do it in a very detached and matter of fact way, with absolutely no emotion. As you realize that you haven’t thought about it for a while, you forget about it again, and never think about it unless there’s a direct association. It’s no longer compulsive or emotionally painful, and you no longer dwell in it uncontrollably.

The Energetic Law of Seasons: Winter – A Time of Reflection, Re-evaluation, and Setting New Goals

        As divine beings we’re bestowed with the higher capacities of the mind to be able to create in a fully conscious and intentional way using the power of self-realization, choice, and will. When we form a vision for ourselves we simultaneously impose a direction on our life, and we step into our true identity as creative beings. When we create in an intentional manner our life becomes a form of grand masterpiece as a live demonstration of who we are as a Soul. What makes us different from all other life-forms here on Earth is that all other animals don’t have the ability to create and determine who and how they’re going to be and what kind of story they’re going to tell by the attitude in which they live their life. Animals only have the lower capacities of the subconscious as a personality and lack what we call the “I” of the self-conscious mind that only humans and higher beings have. All of our experiences (which are created by us) act as the primary means for creating ourselves by how we identify with our own creations.

Season’s – the Eb and Flow of Life

Energetic Rhythm of Nature

       The 4 seasons of the year are produced by natural cycles of subtle energy that form unconscious influences that affect all living beings in the same manner through mental and emotional states. In the fall of the year, after the full expression of the active, vital energies of summer, we gradually move back into the magnetic spectrum where all of the outward, actively expressing energies become exhausted and are gathered and drawn inward for a period of rest and rejuvenation. We experience this as a feeling of starting to slow down and begin reflecting back on our life from an inactive place of inner calm and stillness. We begin reflecting back on our life and form realizations around the accomplishment of the vision that set it all into motion. We review and evaluate it to see what was effective and what wasn’t, what developed like we intended and what didn’t, forming a kind of filtering system of self-realization that brings a deeper awareness to things. Our creation as a progressive growth process provides us with feedback as to the appropriateness of our approach and strategic processes implemented systematically in attaining the desired outcome we set in motion through our goals as a vision for our life.

       Once we filter through the experiences we created in the active periods of spring and summer to see what we’ve harvested from them in the fall, and form realization around what worked and what didn’t, we provide ourselves with the tools for creating in a more proficient and accurate manner. We can realize what type of things acted to distract us and cause us to veer off course and waste valuable energy as a result. As we begin reflecting back on our accomplishments we can form a real good idea of what our own tendencies are that prevent us from living the life of our dreams. As we realize all the things that moved us away from our original vision, we can begin reformulating it into a new version of an ongoing vision for our life. Once our core idea has been transformed through intuitive awareness into a modified version, it becomes the seed of a new conception and begins the gestation period marked by winter, the time of energetic incubation and new formation. We keep tweaking our approach based on the feedback we get and evolve it to a new and higher form of the same basic idea.

       Winter is a natural time of meditative solitude and inner-reflection where we begin shaping a new vision for our life as an “ideal” that we take action to birth again in the springtime after our vital energies have been replenished and are once again abundant.  As we tune into our deepest feelings and intuitive awareness, we begin forming images and scenarios in our imagination as the energetic nature of our ideal made real as an outer manifestation.  The more we develop it with virtuous attributes, the more beautiful and compelling it becomes to us. All true goals and visions should serve to naturally elicit deep feelings of reverence and adoration in us through the very thought of them. As we create our goals in our imagination as an actual reality that invokes compelling emotions through the virtual experience it brings, it begins vibrating at a frequency that “draws in” correlating cosmic forces that animate it with life and serve to organize it in the outer world as a correlating reality. As we magnetize it with intense feelings of reverence it comes alive inside of us as a feeling in our heart. Through a feeling of respect and admiration, we feel a deepened sense of love and devotion in creating it. When an idea lives inside of us as a feeling in our heart, it connects us energetically to that same idea in the space around us.

Synchronizing the Heart and Brain

       The more we visualize an idea by infusing it with the things that matter most to us, we feel a kind of love for it, and these feelings set the vibratory essence of it that connects us to that same idea and qualities in everyone and everything around us. As we form an ideal for our self and our life that inspires us, and we begin imagining it in vivid detail as an actual experience, we form a gravitational field as two complementary poles of the same frequency (we polarize ourselves energetically to the idea), and we begin drawing the essence of it into us, strengthening and animating those qualities within, and we’re drawn to (resonate with) the right conditions, circumstances and situations all around us. The reality we imagine internally and magnetize with strong feelings acts to construct the “etheric template” for organizing and orchestrating the corresponding outer reality through resonance.

       The more we hold true to our vision and keep it firmly in place by concentrating on it in a single-minded fashion, the more we act as a magnet for attracting the cosmic energies necessary for manifesting it. Whatever we “become” internally, we act naturally to create externally. An idea imagined as an intense sensory reality that naturally acts to invoke a strong, positive emotion in relation to it, tunes us spiritually (energetically) to the vibration of that idea and we begin resonating with it in everything else. Whatever ideas we dwell in with strong feelings and emotions, we become “like” in spirit and essence. We are always the one producing not only our self as our inner feelings and imaginings, but also our outer conditions and life circumstances. The image we form of our desired experience acts as a kind of metaphor that’s a theme for our life, and the emotions it naturally invokes determines the “type” of experience we create of it.

        We then have to evaluate the idea we’re tuning ourselves to in terms of what’s motivating it, and what our true purpose is for creating it as a desired outcome. We have to ask ourselves at the beginning of any conscious creation, what purpose it serves, what it will provide us with once actualized, and why that’s important to us. The subconscious is instinctual and emotional in nature, and creates an idea as a reality based on what emotions are married to it that determines “how we experience it”, and how we experience our self in relation with it. The subconscious is motivated by emotions, and moves towards pleasure and away from pain. So all ideas converted to the best possible version of that idea within the context of our everyday life, invokes the type of feelings that are very positive in nature and provide you with a preview of the type of experience it will produce once achieved.

Shaping the Dream into a Reality

       Once you’re firm on your mission and purpose for creating, you have to shape it into an actual imaginary reality, rather than an abstract, objective idea that’s intellectual in nature. An ideal is the highest possibility for an idea as applied in the practical sense, and requires you to stretch and strive in order to achieve it by “growing into it”. As an ideal, it elicits positive feelings in you that cause you to revere it, and therefore want to “be like it”. It causes you to aspire towards it with a deep feeling of love and oneness. We only aspire towards what we revere. This feeling of love that we have for an idea becomes the nature of the experience it creates through the “process” required for manifesting it, while also setting the basis for how you’ll experience it once it’s actually created. All experience is designed to give us a “feeling” of some kind, and the feeling used as the means of shaping it in your imagination as a kind of prototype, is the same feeling it will give you when you experience of it as an outer realization.

       All goals should be created as an ideal because only then will it require you to utilize your full potential in order to attain it by becoming it. The process involved in order to create it acts to turn you into a higher version of yourself as the expression of your full potential. Through constant practice you exercise your creative abilities with a profound sense of precision and accuracy. Striving towards it causes you to grow yourself in the best possible way. It’s not the acquisition of a material object or situation that you’re going for, but rather who you become through the process of creating it as an ongoing experience. The material world isn’t the goal in and of itself as a finished product, but merely provides the means through which we create ourselves by consciously directing our experience to be of a certain kind and nature. As we set a goal as a certain type of experience, we need to embody the qualities necessary to be a natural part of that reality, and we develop those qualities in us as a result.

Goals Evolve as a Work in Progress

       Setting a goal shouldn’t be viewed or undertaken in a fixed or dogmatic way, but needs to be viewed as a living entity that self-creates through an evolutionary process of constant adjustment, adaptation, and modification. A goal is formed as more of a “metaphorical theme” that acts as a kind of theory that’s necessary for applying in the practical sense. It provides us with a starting point and a whole series of other, smaller goals as the necessary steps for accomplishing it. Once we start actively forming our goals in a step-by-step fashion, new relationships are formed that produce specific type of results, often different from what we had imagined and anticipated in the beginning. If a calculated step doesn’t produce what we wanted, or it brings other undesirable elements into the picture, we have to recognize that, and change the nature of the goal accordingly. We have to then continue tweaking it based on feedback until it produces the outcome we were going for. We have to be prepared from the beginning to constantly tweak the process until it produces what we want. We have to “evolve ideas” until they begin taking on the form we want and provide us with the experience we’ve chosen to create for ourselves.

       A goal as an imagined idea that’s transformational in nature needs to be looked at as a metaphor or thematic idea rather than a specific one. Imaginary goals merely provide the subconscious with the “pattern” for connecting with the energies of that same idea in the immediate environment, and drawing them together in a organized manner as the expression of the same type of idea within the context of your current life circumstances. You don’t really know if you’ve achieved your goal by the outside appearances it takes on, but rather the type of experience it provides you with. It’s the feeling you get from a situation that forms your experience of it. The form itself may come in an entirely different way than you had imagined, but the feeling you get from it will be the same kind.

Intuitively Constructing your Goals

       Goals of all kinds (unless they’re group or family goals) should never include someone else specifically in order to attain. The most fundamental law of the higher realms of consciousness (which is comprised of creative beings) is that you can never violate choice and free will of another. If your vision includes others in some capacity, you need to keep them in a metaphorical form. Not as a specific person that you know and want to be a part of your reality, but as a specific “type or kind of person”. This way you’ll only act to attract those who are of the same vision as you are. Those you actually resonate with and who share a common dream for their life. When an “idea” is turned into an “ideal”, it’s comprised of the qualities necessary to transform the ordinary into the best possible version of itself. All true transformation comes by embodying new qualities that alter your state of being. The people you attract and engage with through the enactment of a goal based on an ideal, will possess those same qualities and act as a catalyst for bringing them out in you.   

        If you include others in your vision, you should also avoid requiring them to look a certain way or meet some kind of preconceived criteria that you’ve made up in your mind for how they need to be. Focus instead on the qualities you want them to possess while making them look different each time you imagine them so you don’t get stuck on one idea. You can also concentrate only on the qualities and traits that they would naturally possess in order to create a certain type of experience. One of the most predominate ways we sabotage our dreams is that we get to set on the idea that they need to show up a certain way, which of course they hardly ever do, and when they don’t, we write them off as not being what we were looking for. But just know that the person who shares the same vision for their life as you do will be recognized through the chemistry you feel when you meet them, and the nature of the relationship that forms, which is unmistakable. When we attract through resonance, an immediate harmony’s established that we experience as an affinity.

        In much the same way, it’s best if we don’t focus on the idea needing to be a specific way or comprised of predetermined elements (unless it’s prevalent to the idea itself), because again, they hardly ever come exactly as we imagined them. People often try to “figure out” what they want in order to have a certain kind of experience and live a certain kind of story, only to finally get it and realize it didn’t give them what they wanted. This is how “illusions” are created that we use to elude ourselves of our true desires. Instead we need to focus clearly on the kind of “feeling” we want and how we’ll “be”, and allow a natural idea to arise out of that which we then use as a form of emblem or talisman that represents the nature and essence of our idea. We don’t need to determine the “process” necessary in order to create it, but rather form a clear idea of the intention as an “outcome”, knowing that this will establish the vibratory pattern that has a “self-organizing mechanism” inherent in it that automatically initiates the process necessary to form it.

       As we form an ideal in our mind as the actual reality that naturally gives us a specific type of feeling, we concentrate heavily on the feeling itself, intensifying and strengthening it. The feeling a situation has is what produces our experience, not the actual form it takes on. This is perhaps the biggest problem with those who set goals based on society’s standards or what they’re taught and have been led to believe they should want. Any goal that we don’t have a true desire for in our heart produces conflicting emotions that cause a feeling of inner turmoil and a lack of motivation towards achieving it. Inner conflict scatters energies instead of concentrating them. The intention and feelings we have form the process necessary to create them, and is the same feelings we’ll have once it’s accomplished. Often, when we try to “figure out” what we want, which comes by rehashing previous experiences and ideas as memories of some form (a new version of a past idea), and we set goals based on them, not only do we fail to grow through the process of creating them, but often realize we don’t want them once achieved because they didn’t give us the experience we were looking for. All of our past experiences will not create a truly new experience. A new experience will require a different process that comes intuitively through inspiration, notions, and coincidences. We’re given signs, symbols, and messages as a synchronistic process of unfoldment.

The Creative Power of the Soul

       When we set goals that cause a feeling of stress and suffering through the process required to achieve them, they will only act to give us more of those same feelings once achieved. The initial idea, creative process, and end result are unified by the feeling they share. Whatever feeling is motivating the action necessary to attain the goal is what actually produces the outcome, not the material circumstances themselves. The Soul isn’t material or fixed in nature like the body in which it inhabits, and creates “itself” based on feelings and qualities and the type of experiences they create. The entire material world is mortal and only formed temporarily, and disintegrates at death of the body, where the soul then absorbs and gathers unto itself all the experiences of itself that it created while in the body.

       Your house, car, and job title don’t matter to the Soul, it’s only the experiences that you created “by way of them” that matter and are eternal in nature. The Soul is formed as an unique archetype through the accumulation of ideas it created of itself while in a physical form as a personality. The integrated experiences that form memories are the only thing that transcends death and that the Soul “takes with it” as part of its energetic (psychological) constitution. In this sense it’s not what happens to us that matters, but rather the attitude we employ in choosing how to experience what happens. It’s not our material conditions and circumstances that define us, but rather who we become through the relationship we form with them. Our material world and circumstances merely provide the stage through which we create ourselves in an energetic and archetypal fashion.

Shaping and Evolving your Goals

      The process for formulating and reformulating our goals is the intentional act of creating our life with a sense of awareness. Goals produce an inner process that sets the pattern as the basis for producing an equivalent outer pattern of the same type. Those who just float their life caught up in whatever current they ended up in through a complete lack of self-awareness, never learn how to exercise their creative abilities. They’re tossed about in a stormy sea of emotions, violently being thrown from one shore to another, seemingly helpless to impose a direction on their life, and as a result never realize that they have the ability to determine who and how they’re going to be, regardless of their circumstances.

       We’re all born into this world as a specialized design comprised of pure potential as qualities and traits that we possess naturally. Only some of our potential is activated, brought out, and developed in us through our formative conditioning as children, while the rest remains latent and untapped. In order to take an idea about ourselves and turn it into an ideal for our life, we need to utilize our full potential. We need to create an ideal for our life that requires us to stretch in order to grow into it by using gifts and special abilities we’ve never used before. We have to step wide-eyed and enthusiastically into parts of ourselves that are unknown, even to us. If fear and a feeling of insecurity arise when we do, then we have to decide to move through the fear by embodying a sense of courage and belief in ourselves and trust our ability to know what to do in new situations that we have no experience with. Our goals should require us to really apply ourselves in order to accomplish. They should require us to access and embrace parts of ourselves that we’re not even sure we have.

The Relationship between Desire and Fear

       Our Soul comes into life with only one main purpose, and that is to grow, expand on creative abilities, and fully self-actualize as our highest potential. All true goals for our life, like ideas themselves, are polar in nature, which means that our greatest desires are simultaneously opposed by our greatest fears and require us to step into them as a means of achieving our highest potential. In order to achieve our highest possibility we have to overcome what’s acting to prevent or sabotage it. We have to transcend our lower nature by fully utilizing our higher Will. Whenever we play ourselves down or set goals based on what we think we can reasonably achieve with minimal effort, we fail to grow in the most basic sense and instead become more invested in conforming to our perceived limitations about ourselves and our life. When we live out of our “lower nature” which is governed and ruled by emotions and lacks the ability to create in an intentional manner, we create illusions instead by using our imagination to make our fears appear real. As a result, we render our higher capacities subservient to our emotions, and act on ourselves to create constant experiences that feed and sustain our fears.

Putting it all Together

       Our goals in the most basic sense should set the stage necessary for personal growth and require us to strive towards and really apply ourselves in order to achieve. They should be based on your true inner desire as a feeling that you want to experience. The material nature of the goal should be viewed as being the vessel and means for the energy of the Soul to express through in order to create a certain type of experience of yourself. The feeling we create through the work it takes to manifest the goal “is” the actual goal in terms of how you’ll use it to create yourself once it’s fully manifest as a reality. Goals should be ideas that are turned into ideals that naturally invoke a deep feeling of reverence and admiration that causes you to “fall in love with it” as the feeling it naturally gives you. The emotion married to the idea is the motivating force that serves to actually produce the experience as a continuous process of becoming.

       The motivating energy that’s propelling a vision should be one of love and honor in the purpose of the goal. It should be formed so that even though it’s difficult, you pursue and undertake it with a sense of enthusiasm and devotion to the cause. An idea that when you associate yourself with it, you really like how you feel about yourself. It should be something you aspire towards as a deep felt sense of love for yourself. As you set it into motion and begin taking action on it in a consistent fashion, you’ll need to become aware of any and all feedback you get, constantly reviewing and evaluating it in order to make any modifications to the process required to create it. You’ll know when you’ve achieved it by how it makes you feel. Once a major goal is accomplished, it forms the foundation as the premise for forming the next one as a constant and never-ending growth process facilitated by exercising your higher capacities for creating through self-realization formed through self-created experiences.

The Art of Setting Goals and Manifesting your Dreams

Setting goals and “dreaming” is one of the most primary ways we use our mind to create realities. While “task oriented goals” are relatively easy, as they only require us to direct our attention and perform remedial acts, producing entirely new experiences as realities requires more skill because it’s done by how we use different aspects of our own mind to program other aspects. Our mind has what we can think of as three primary aspects that are always performing different functions while working together in unison to produce the same reality. What we refer to as “reality” is created both internally and externally as a unified experience that’s metaphorical in nature.

We often feel confused around the idea of what we call the “same reality” being literal as an exact match, where it “shows up” just as we imagined it, when in fact it actually comes as a correspondence to our imagined idea as the same “type or kind” of reality that’s composed of different elements. The mind works out of patterns as themes that allow an idea to be applied and adapted to various situations to produce a modification of the same overall idea. So how the reality of an imagined goal formulates and shows up may be different, but it serves to create the same basic type of experience.

The key word here is the idea of a “type of experience”, rather than an exact event. We have to formulate the goal as an experience of reality, focusing primarily on the “feeling” we’re striving to get from the reality of the goal, then let go of all control as to how it formulates within our given conditions and circumstances. We create an idea as a symbolic, metaphorical idea that we use as an “organizational mechanism” (vibratory frequency) for organizing the elements available in our present environment to be of the same nature, and be organized to create the same type of experience.

Designing Mental Programs

All mental programming designed to produce an actual experience of reality, comes by way of the conscious mind programming the subconscious mind. The subconscious is different than the conscious mind in the sense that it’s always present in the moment, is experiential in nature, emotionally driven, and creates out of preexisting memory. What unifies all aspects of our mind into a cohesive singularity is “state”. Our state of mind is what also acts to adjust the chemistry of our body to “match” that state, as well as what acts to adjust and organize the events of the outer world. The “unified mind” that we all exist as a part of, commonly called the “collective unconscious” or “mass consciousness”, is the subconscious aspect of the mind that we share with all of Nature as the instinctually driven mind that governs the entire material world of both the body and its outer environment.

What we refer to as our conscious mind, which can also be thought of as our self-aware mind that forms our outer awareness, is abstract in nature, always consumed in the illusion of time and hardly ever present, and is what forms our verbal thoughts and internal dialogue that’s always talking to ourselves about things. This is the aspect of the mind that gives things meaning then tells a story about them based on the meaning. The conscious mind of outer awareness has the ability to discriminate, analyze, and evaluate situations in order to make conscious decisions. It works in-sync with the subconscious by acting as the “gatekeeper” of the subconscious and decides what to “let in” and what to “keep out”. It also has the ability to “seed” the imagination of the subconscious with an idea it wants to create as an outer reality, but they speak different languages, and so it has to form an idea and directive for the subconscious as a “direct experience” of an idea that replicates a memory, coupled with a positive state and emotion.

The Power of State

What acts as the “unifying field” or mechanism between all aspects of the mind is the “feeling state” we exist in as our perspective and basis for creating experience. This idea is probably the most confusing for people in understanding how to formulate the reality they desire to create and experience through what we imagine to be a form of prayer or be requesting and asking for it. If we exist in a state of “wanting” what we don’t have, we’re creating an “experience of not having”, and we’re actually “programming” our subconscious to create more experiences of wanting. It’s the experience we’re “in” as a state of mind forming a perception that acts as the directive for the subconscious mind.

This is due to the fact that the subconscious is feeling and experience oriented, rather than abstract and time oriented. Whatever feeling we live out of and maintain as an inner experience and emotional state “is” what we’re connecting to all around us and acting in an organized manner to create more of. The subconscious has no concept of time and simply operates to create material reality based on using memory to create more experiences that are of the same nature as the memory. The subconscious doesn’t exist in time and doesn’t have the ability to focus on “being without something” that it needs to seek and try to get outside of itself in the outer world. This means that it’s “present in the experience of not having”, and acting on our behalf to create more of the same type of experiences, because this is the actual command we’re giving it.

The outer world is always a direct correlation and reflection of the inner world, because they’re both created as an extension of each other within the same mind. We do not exist as separate from our environment, but rather as a coherent part of it. What we experience as reality is based on our own perception of it, which comes from our mental paradigm as our “model of the world”, used as a dynamic system for interpreting what we perceive to be outer events to give them meaning as the way of “experiencing” them. The experience of something comes as the feeling sensations that produce emotions and an “inner reality” that acts as a “representation” we use in place of actual events. We “reshape” the outer elements to produce the reality that matches the inner feelings and emotions, reforming them according to our model used for perceiving them.

       As we reform the elements of the outer events of life to match our ideas about them, we form them into an internal reality as a representation that becomes our “memory of them”. All memory is produced in the imagination as a personification of an outer, object reality, and then replayed in the imagination as a way of continuing to form reality as our perception, and create more realities of the same nature as our memories. This is because the subconscious, which is the “group mind” of mass consciousness, has to have a set-pattern as a kind of theme or metaphor for producing both an internal reality and corresponding external reality of the same nature. The subconscious needs a “memory of reality” in order to produce an “experience” of reality. The subconscious can’t tell the difference between an “actual memory” and an imagined one, because they’re both created the same way, in the faculty of the imagination. In order to give the subconscious a pattern and directive for creating, we have to form it into a virtual memory as an experience of it, as if it’s already real.

What makes a “real memory” different from a made-up one, is that the one created from a real life situation came as an actual experience that had a strong feeling, vivid and intense sensations, and a strong emotion as the “self-organizing mechanism” that gave it meaning and shaped it into a story of some kind. Actual events, which are subliminally shaped through natural unconscious states, contain all the key components for shaping as a “mental record”, which, when recalled and replayed, contain all the emotional sensations and instant story-line for producing an immediate experience of the same nature and kind. Our entire experience of reality is based on an incredibly diverse and dynamic matrix of interwoven and integrated memory. Our mental paradigm as a dynamic (living) holographic pattern (frequency) is a “reality generating machine”, much like a computer simulation or video game where everything is being produced in a progressive manner moment by moment through our perception of it formed out of memory.

       The “connecting factor” that forms the basis for and that generates and maintains all reality, is “feelings”. Whatever reality as an experience we produce by imagining it, acts to express a feeling, amplifying and reproducing it, and serves to give us more of that same feeling. If we form a wish or goal from a feeling of lack and scarcity, from a state of “not having it”, while we think we’re giving the subconscious a verbal command to produce or find it, the real directive being received by the subconscious is to produce more of the same feeling as an experience of the outer reality. We’re actually forming a goal around the experience of “deprivation and lack” at the subconscious level.

This is a very important factor to realize in using your own mind to create within the material world. Thought as we know it, as verbal words we speak to ourselves internally, is a product of the self-conscious mind of outer awareness. The thought and “intelligence” of higher planes of consciousness (regardless of what we call it), is what acts to organize and orchestrate the material plane of phenomena, and comes intuitively as feelings. Within feelings are whole realities as experiences that produce more of the same feelings. The governing force of the mind and the reality it creates and perceives, both internally and externally, comes as feelings that act to systematically produce matching thoughts and emotions.

Goals as Mental Programs

In order to produce a goal as a means of creating reality, rather than performing a simple task, it has to be formed into an “experience of the goal” as an actual reality. We have to form it in our imagination in full sensory terms as being “within it” having the experience of it. We have to first produce the reality internally in order to connect with, match, and perceive the same type of reality externally. All perception of the outer world is formed as the correspondence to the internal representation formed in the imagination. The same pattern as a theme or metaphor is played out on different scales and levels simultaneously. The entire material world, which is constructed of light by the mind, is produced by the Higher Mind of the Soul, of which both the subconscious and self-conscious are functional aspects within the lower plane and are what is used to produce, experience, and maintain the entire phenomenal world. In order to work within the material plane in a truly creative fashion, we have to work by way of the laws that govern the mind that’s acting to create it. Two complementary aspects brought into harmony produce a functional third.

We produce our goals as imaginary realities by developing them as actual scenarios in full sensory terms, while also creating our experience by what we’re telling ourselves about them that give them meaning and form a story-line about them. We picture it in our mind while asking ourselves . . . what am I seeing? Then imbue it with visual details that are rich in terms of colors, textures, and qualities. Then ask, what am I hearing? While filling in the experience with any sounds, activities, or other people talking. Then, what am I feeling or touching? Smelling? Tasting? While filling in details of sensations of touch, smell, and taste. What am I feeling as emotional sensation? What am I telling myself about it as internal dialogue and thoughts? And so on, until you develop a detailed sensory experience that acts to invoke a very positive emotional state.

Emotions Motivate Action and Behavior

The subconscious is emotionally driven and motivated by the two primary emotions of either pleasure or pain. It moves towards and into anything it deems pleasurable or pleasant, and away from or avoids anything it perceives as painful or unpleasant. It’s very important that the visualization of our goals as an experience act to naturally produce positive, compelling emotions in us. If feelings of fear, apprehension or discomfort arise from our goals, we have to resolve them at the same time as a means of developing our vision, or they’ll act as a natural means of self-sabotage. Because fear is such a strong and compelling emotion, it can take on a life of its own, and sends the message to the subconscious that this type of situation (our desired goal) will cause fear as a result, and the subconscious will act to avoid, resist, and counteract it as a way of preventing it from happening.

Spiritual Basis of Desire and Fear

From a purely spiritual, soul-oriented perspective, which is always based on growth by realizing and overcoming limitations, all of our true desires as the dream for our life are directly associated to our greatest fears, and require us to step into and resolve our fears in order to willfully create. This factor can be confusing for many because there’s a general misconception that’s being widely taught as the belief that “what’s meant to be” comes with ease as a harmonious and synchronistic unfolding of congruent events. While this is true at the unconscious level of karmic patterns repeating in a systematic fashion, when we assume the position of “consciously creating” in a precise and deliberate manner by breaking habitual patterns of established realities, we have to operate according to a higher set of laws that are polar and causal in nature to the laws of the lower plane, which come in an automated fashion without our mental initiation.

When we step outside of automated processes, which create out of fears as much as they do desires (whichever one is strongest), we encounter a kind of paradox that acts to keep our current life situation stable and maintains it in a consistent fashion. As we set goals to accomplish things that are outside of our normal reality, we encounter both the positive and negative aspects at play within the same reality. In order to create something new and alter the existing pattern of reality, we have to not only develop and embellish the positive aspects, but we have to also realize and dissolve the negative emotions that will serve to counteract and prevent it.

How we Sabotage Ourselves

Whenever we act against our own desires as a means of destroying opportunities, ruining key relationships, or producing destructive behavior, we have fears and beliefs operating at the subconscious level that we haven’t identified that are stronger than our desires. We are often our own worst enemy and what acts in our own life to destroy our dreams and ultimately produce our own demise. When fear is stronger than desire, it becomes the dominant state that we create our experience out of. What we fear we simultaneously think about and imagine, programming our subconscious with the reality of our fear. All behaviors come in a completely natural fashion without our direct awareness, and whenever emotions and intellect clash, emotion nearly always wins because it’s what’s driving all subconscious activity to produce us and our reality.

The Creative Power of Beliefs

Because our mind is what produces our perception of reality and all of our natural behaviors based on our perception, we act in an unconscious manner to faithfully produce the reality of our beliefs. Whenever we have a belief that contradicts or counteracts our desire for something, we use the desire to produce the reality of our belief instead, which prevents us from being able to accomplish it. Our beliefs “appear real to us” because they’re an inherent part of our perception, so we usually don’t realize that they’re actually something that we made-up, or was given (taught) by someone else that we accepted as being real and therefore true. Because we don’t truly realize the power of our own mind to create our reality (perception), we don’t realize that our beliefs aren’t “real”.

       We form limiting beliefs around our desires and dreams that require dissolution through self-awareness and realization, and the deliberate use of our ability to willfully correct our own false illusions. Usually, even when evidence is provided that contradicts and therefore proves our beliefs to be false, we’ll deny it or argue against it in favor of our beliefs. This is because our beliefs are not singular in nature but are formed out of a “belief system” as our mental paradigm that all support and validate each other through a cohesive experience of reality. As we transform what seems like a single belief, we undergo a paradigm shift that systematically transforms all beliefs that relied on it in order to be “real”.

This can and does act to turn our perception and experience of reality completely around. We all have a story built around our beliefs that shape us according to them, and when a core-belief (one formed through our formative (childhood) conditioning) is transformed, it transforms our identity by way of the reality it creates that we use to experience ourselves, that can often cause a form of identity crisis. This experience is what’s been traditionally referred to as “soul liberation”, because the beliefs used to structure our reality are a form of self-induced limitation. While limitations of various sorts are necessary to express something in a specific manner, and as the means of developing an idea by giving it detail, when they prevent us from becoming a certain “type of person”, or from producing a certain type of experience, they act to prevent self-expression as growth in the most basic sense of the idea. What kind of limitations we impose on ourselves determines what we are capable of creating using our soul, mind, and will.

Ecology Check – Creating Harmony

Another potential problem we have is that we set goals for one area of our life that conflicts with, undermines, or causes problems in another area of our life. When this happens we form inner conflict around them, associating pain and suffering with them, or the experience of having to “give up or lose” something we value in order to have or achieve them. Because the subconscious is the aspect of the (unified) mind that creates reality, it avoids and sabotages our goals, or acts to keep us in a constant state of inner conflict. Again, it’s the “state” we’re in and the “experience” that acts as the “program as a reality” for the subconscious to create more of.

For this reason, all goals should be developed in a way that’s congruent and harmonious with all other areas of our life, or if you’re acting to change behaviors, make sure you identify when and in what way the new behavior is appropriate and desired, and when it’s not. This requires moving an idea from a generalized state to a detailed and specific state by developing it in your imagination. Goals as standards exist in all areas of our life, and have to always be harmonious with each other in order to accomplish and maintain them. A financial or professional goal shouldn’t act to prevent or go against a health or relationship goal. Whenever intentional goals clash, it has a destructive nature and puts you in a constant state of inner turmoil and tearing you apart by having to let go of one area of your life in order to achieve in another area. All goals should be integrated harmoniously with all other goals and standards by adapting and modifying them accordingly, and should always produce a positive emotional state as the “imaginary experience of them”.

All Goals should be Self-Oriented

All true goals should only involve you in order to achieve and produce. They shouldn’t require the participation of anyone else specifically to achieve as a joint reality. If goals require the cooperation of others in order to create, they should be discussed, set as a joint experience, and developed as a group. Any goal as a reality that’s not already a part of your everyday life requires you to make an inward change in order to produce outwardly. It requires you to give your own subconscious mind a program as a virtual memory to create an outward reality of the same nature. All goals come as our ability to willfully create an experience of them both inwardly and outwardly as an actual scenario or event. The only people who can actively and naturally participate in a playing a part in them are those who have similar goals or who are already a natural part of the reality we’re acting on ourselves to create.

There are many articles written on the nature of goal setting, most of which are the offspring of conventional thought that’s been made popular, which state that it’s only goals that are written down and remembered that tend to come true. And while this is certainly true, it’s actually only the initial steps to actually creating the reality of your goals. As we write them down, we further develop them by making them detailed and specific, which becomes the basis for setting the intention to create them by visualizing them. All true creation that produced a brand new situation and experience began as a dream in the imagination. As souls, we are all programmed with our destiny through the dreams we naturally hold for our life that we’re born with and come natural to us. We all form ideas in our mind as kids of the type of characters that we want to be like and we develop those same characteristics in ourselves by “pretending to be like them”. We act out the same stories as an identity that has specific qualities and characteristics, and we “program ourselves” with those imagined realities as a way of “becoming”.

Setting the Criteria for Evaluating the Accomplishment of a Goal

As you visualize a goal that’s set as a “reality” (not as acquiring an object or performing a task) and begin moving into it, it can become easy to lose sight as to whether or not you’re making real progress, or at what point you have actually accomplished your goal as an outcome of reality. We have to form realization around what it is that will provide us with evidence of our goal becoming an actual reality. At what point will we realize we’ve accomplished it? What is it in our outer environment as an event or situation that will let us know? This is critical because all imagined realities that act as a template and program for creating, are symbolic and metaphorical in nature, and when they’re produced as an actual reality, may be quite a bit different than the way we imagined it. For this reason, we have to identify and become quite clear on the “feeling” the reality was designed to give us.

All experience is only designed as the means of producing a feeling in us by way of that reality. It’s the feeling that gives us a sense of ourselves inwardly that forms the basis of the memory we create of it as a result. The events themselves, or the specific set of circumstances that take place as our outer situation are irrelevant in and of themselves, but merely set the stage necessary for us to create a specific type of experience out of them. It’s the experience we create from the material reality that shapes us in terms of our identity. The outer events themselves are neutral in nature and lack meaning outside of the one we give it as a means of experiencing it. As we create our experience, we relate and associate with it, forming a “sense of ourselves” within and “as” our experience, which serves to shape us as an individual. By identifying the feeling the goal is designed to give us, we can form a clear idea as to when we have accomplished our goal as an outer experience that provides us with a certain inner feeling.

Overview:

We create our reality in an intentional manner by how we use our conscious mind to program our subconscious mind. Our subconscious is intuitive in nature, and requires an idea as a metaphorical pattern that it uses as a form of instinct to create a corresponding outer experience. Our subconscious is the material mind that we share with the entire natural world, that has no ability of its own to discriminate and evaluate, decide, or willfully (going against habitual tendencies) act out an idea that’s apart from its outer environment, and needs to be “seeded” with an idea in the form of a memory for creating as an outer reality of the same nature. It’s only by first producing the reality inwardly that we can then produce it outwardly.

All goals for new creations have to be resistant free and harmonious with our mental paradigm in order to achieve, because it’s our paradigm that produces it. We have to identify all fear and negative emotions associated with it, and any other areas of our life it will conflict or act to undermine and ruin. We have to realize any core beliefs we have that will prevent it or act to sabotage it. We have to develop it as a reality from “within the experience of it” as an already existing reality. Form it from the position and perspective of already “having it”.

The Steps for Creating a Vision of Our Goal:

  • Decide on what you “want” and set the intention for creating it.
  • Integrate it with all other life goals and standards for living as a way of developing it into a specific and detailed reality that’s congruent and coherent with your existing model.
  • Recognize any fears, negative emotions, conflicts, and limiting beliefs associated with it that arise naturally in response to the thought of it, and set a series of smaller goals as the means for transforming them.
  • Develop the goal as an actual experience of reality by giving it full sensory detail – seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, tasting, and what you’re telling yourself about it.
  • Develop your internal dialogue as your “story about things” and yourself in a way that’s congruent and forms positive emotions and feelings about yourself.
  • Form a strong desire for it by making it very compelling and associating only positive emotions to it.
  • Once developed the way you want it, replay it over and over several times until it becomes a natural thought that can be instantly recalled just like a memory.
  • Write it down or record it, then review and visualize it every morning before you start your day, throughout the day when you’re in a relaxed state, and every evening before you fall asleep.
  • Set the intention to take some form of action towards it that day as a smaller set of goals that form an “action plan”.
  • As you go along and your actions begin producing results, evaluate those results to see if they’re in alignment with your desired outcome, and make any adjustments necessary to your action plan. Keep doing this until you produce the results you desire as a certain type of experience.
  • Form a strong realization around how you will feel when you’ve accomplished your goal and use that as the means of measuring it’s completion as an outer series of events that become a natural part of your experience and identity.

The Chakra System Provides us with a Model for Using our Mind to Heal our Body

The Chakra system of the subtle body gives us a “model for creating” from a dual perspective as the movement of energy that’s both descending as spirit into matter, and matter ascending back into spirit. The creative process works from both angles because it’s the continuous flow of the same thing. When energy as vibration is descending from a higher plane, it comes in a unified form that divides and propagates as aspects of itself that form stages of development as a kind of growth process of an idea becoming a material form and reality. There are no “individual or independent” operations slated to each chakra as many believe, but rather a unified idea that steadily takes on physical properties and becomes something specific as an actual material reality. It’s the system through which an idea manifests as an equivalent physical correspondence or analogy. What originates as an archetype or “ideal” is a form of prototype or general template as more of a theme, which holds the infinite potential of that idea as a wave-form (crown chakra has a thousand petals), enters into the individual mind and body system, where a form of natural selection takes place that accesses certain aspects of potential that correlate with it, and through a series of interference patterns as a process of adaptation based on the unique relationship that thematic idea forms with the individual character that’s acting as a vehicle for it to come into an actual form of expression, it’s modified, and the wave is “collapsed” around one possibility (limitation is imposed), which is brought into expression to produce the reality as its physical form. The crown chakra is where the idea, which has already penetrated and been absorbed and inducted into the mind as the subtle energy field that surrounds and in-forms the body, as a “whole idea” that contains all aspects required for creating in a unified manner, enters the body.  It’s received into the 3rd-Eye of the sixth chakra as an inspired vision or imagined reality (similar to a memory) that has both optical and audio properties (6th chakra is represented as two petals). It comes as an imagined thought that’s accompanied by an inner voice. As the voice speaks a vision is formed as the meaning of the words spoken as a material reality. This inner voice (5th chakra) and imagined reality becomes the basis of what we call “thought”, which when beheld and dwelled in, forms feelings as sensations as it descends into the heart center. These feeling sensations of the imagined idea act as a form of vibratory programming for the subconscious mind of the body, and is what “connects us” to that same type of reality in everything around us in the material world of formation.

       The potential reality as an imagined, sensory and life-like reality produces emotion as the chemistry of the body as it descends into the solar plexus, which adjusts the biological body to the same “state” (vibratory quality) as the idea. The emotions are produced as a reaction to our visual thoughts, and unlike the feelings of the heart that are felt both inside and out as a connection to the material world outside of us, emotions are felt with intensity within the body as a strong stimulation that’s arousing and brings the body into an active state in response to the thought. This strong arousal and pronounced activity within the body takes place as the emotion enters the sexual-generative center of the second chakra, which is creative in nature, and what produces action as behaviors of some form as it enters the root chakra, and acts to bring the idea into expression as an experience by producing an effect as the reality of the thought. Once an idea is acted on, it steadily manifests as not only our inner reality, but also our outer reality. This is how ideas become rooted in reality as the personal creation of those who serve as the vehicle and conduit for actualizing them. Because this process begins in the brain, the point in the body where ideas are received in full sensory terms, then broken down and distributed to the body itself for manifesting, the brain is attributed as being what “generates” the ideas as a primal form of consciousness. Yet all material form only acts as a passive receptor and instrument for consciousness, which operates it by informing, instructing, and animating it. Consciousness, like everything else that emerges from it, is dual in nature as both a passive and active component. Matter is the passive aspect of consciousness that acts as a form of “shell” or dead form for spirit to inhabit and give life to as a “living being” with a personality and subconscious mind. So the body is the means through which creation takes place as the active expression of consciousness (the Soul). This same process as an infinite flow of energy that forms a kind of “feedback loop”, which allows the soul to witness its own creation, takes place through a form of reverse engineering. In the ascending flow of energy from the lower to the higher mind, a behavior or action of some kind arouses and stimulates us with a strong emotion, which then produces a feeling sensation as a form of reflection that activates a memory as a visual and verbal idea that provides an “automatic pattern” for creating as a reality. In this orientation and movement, the emotion and feeling produce the imagined thought, instead of the imagined thought producing the emotion and behavior. One originates as a conscious and willful movement, the other originates as an unconscious and automatic movement. Both are equally creative in nature and serve as correspondences to each other because our thoughts are what create the programs as memory of the subconscious mind. These programs habituate us to emotions that keep us in an aroused state, forming the basis for what affects us and causes an automatic, knee-jerk reaction as an emotional charge that makes us go unconscious and act in an automatic, thoughtless fashion.

       All of our reactions, ultimately, come as the result of how we’ve consistently programmed ourselves over a period of time with our own thoughts that formed our memories as a product of our conditioning. Our memories are formed by how we interpreted events through emotional perceptions as the reality we formed around them based on what we told ourselves about them that gave them the meaning they have. All things only mean what we make them mean by the story we tell ourselves about them. This process of feelings that are received from the environment that act to prompt an emotion as an active arousal, which in turn produces an automatic behavior, is how the instinctual realm of the plant and animal kingdom operate. When we bypass the intellectual capacity as the ability to reason, discriminate, and form our own interpretations as a function of the conscious mind, and live instead out of emotions that form illusions as memories that produce automatic behaviors in us, we live in much the same manner as an animal out of a primarily unconscious state. The intelligent capacities of the Higher, creative Mind, represented by the three upper chakras (voice, vision, idea, and will), has the ability to work through, direct, and ultimately program the lower, subconscious mind of the body, represented by the four lower chakras, all of which are physical in nature, and more specifically the lower three, with the fourth  heart chakra being what bridges and acts as a pathway between the higher and lower planes, and the inner and outer of the material plane. Information is received from the higher plane of archetypal ideas as original thought from the crown and head, forming a vertical motion of up and down, whereas information from the “same plane” (material plane), is received through the heart, and forms a horizontal , as a back and forth, inner and outer movement. When we only live out of our feelings and emotions, stimulated from outer events, others, or in response to thinking as memories of some form, we bypass the intellectual capacity and live out of an unconscious, auto-pilot state of being controlled and determined in much the same way a puppet is operated by a series of strings, or in a remote control fashion, with others constantly being in control of the remote.

        The model laid out as a creative process by the chakra system as a hierarchical structure, provides us with the key and method for employing to work in a conscious and deliberate manner with our own subconscious mind and body to alter and transform our physical body and reality. The subconscious mind doesn’t have the ability to generate and produce reality as an “original creation”, but relies instead on memory which it uses as the basis for creating more realities of the same nature and kind. A memory acts as a preformed pattern or theme that’s used as a template to produce fractal patterns of the same nature as a replication or consistent type of story that produces the same type of experiences over and over, varied only by the uniqueness of the circumstances, situations, and relationships being used to create them. It simply plays out the same ideas over and over in a habitual manner, and produces and maintains the condition of the body as its equivalent and of the same nature and condition. Whatever story we tell ourselves about our self and life, we become in form. Our mental paradigm is what produces all of our perceptions, which is an interpretation that we use to create our experiences that then determines how we behave, and simply acts in all situations to generate more of it self. It’s only modified from its habitual tendencies through the introduction of an original idea, that’s delivered in its original state as an imagined reality and inner voice, that “gives it” a pre-made idea as a virtual memory that it can use in place of an actual memory to produce the reality of the idea by “becoming it” in body and actions. In this same fashion, the subconscious of the body, often referred to as the heart, can be given direction on what and how to manifest based on visualization of the process desired as a reality and by talking to it, explaining the process and how it works, and how it’s going to benefit from it. A sense of pleasure and positive emotion needs to be connected to the idea as what the reality will naturally produce. Thought as an idea (replicates a memory) must be translated into the feeling and emotion that’s the equivalent of the idea because it’s what actually produces the behavior or motivation (arousal) of the subconscious. Emotion is the motivating force as the chemistry of the body that forms all of its biological processes. Emotion comes as the stimulation of the Endocrine glands – the master of which is the Pineal and Pituitary body that act together to regulate all others as a unified operation – that produce hormones as messengers that alter the “state of the body” and activate certain processes by turning some aspects on while turning others off, in much the same way DNA operates. It’s only through coherence of the brain and heart (conscious and subconscious) as an idea and its emotional equivalent that manifestation and transformation naturally takes place.

       A thought that’s not properly translated through a sensory reality that produces the emotion of the idea, doesn’t manifest because it doesn’t work to alter and regulate the chemistry of the body to produce the actions necessary. It’s only an idea imagined as a full sensory reality that’s “felt as being real”, that provides a process or operation for transformation as a form of instructions or direction that invoke an emotional response as altering and producing the physical equivalent as the production and distribution of hormones that transforms how the body regenerates itself. It produces the chemical messengers as the information and instructions necessary to alter DNA sequences and neuro-pathways that change how the body regenerates and performs. While we tend think that what we call “reality” is something that exists separate and independent of us, the fact is reality results from our perception of it. How reality “appears to us”, what we see and comprehend and what we don’t see or fail to recognize all together, is based on our ability to perceive and conceive of it. While we also tend to believe that perception is a product of our brain or heart, in fact, we perceive with our whole being, with both our mind and full body as a unified state and cohesive system. Just as we think with our whole body, in which every organ of our body produces neurotransmitters, and performs different aspects of thinking and perceiving, we also perceive the outer world through the lens of the inner world. Whatever ideas we “program” ourselves (subconscious and self-conscious) with, shape our paradigm, which produces an equivalent and corresponding outer reality as its expression and personal creation. Every individual perceives the same objective reality in a unique, different, and individual way. It’s only by changing our mind and body through the introduction and development of new and original ideas that we reprogram our subconscious to be able to perceive those ideas as a natural part of our outer reality. Miraculous Healing – “The Power of Love”

The Healing Power of Divine Intervention

My first experience of performing what would be deemed a miracle, came as a desperate response to a moment of incredible devastation that pushed me past all limitation, not by endlessly engaging in the limitations themselves in an attempt to process them and overcome them, but by transcending them by losing all awareness of the perception in which the limitations existed. Like shifting into another space, nested within the same situation, in which fear didn’t exist and wasn’t even a consideration. This experience was an amazing lesson not only in helping me to see my own capabilities and learn to build confidence by believing in myself, but also revealing to me the shocking reality of how people tend to show up in times when it matters the most.

 
What happens in those moments when we find ourselves in situations that the eye could not foresee often astounds us. I was abandoned by the people who should have been there, and helped by other that I barely knew. A true testament of giving up perceived control by simply recognizing and allowing my inner guidance as intuition that provided divine intervention, not through another but as an act of my own will surrender to a higher intelligence. I engaged in activity that I performed from a place of sheer knowing in absolute trust that almost felt peculiar to me as I was doing it. As if I was inhabited by a companion form of consciousness. One that didn’t make a big deal out of stuff, but just silently stepped in and went about its business from a removed state that seemed intimately connected.

 
This is just one part of amazing experiences that spanned 15 months, but open my eyes to the real potential of the human spirit when acting from a place of love, devotion, and surrender. It also served to teach me the true nature of people in moments of great necessity that went painfully unanswered.

 
My son was born 4lbs. 10oz., fully matured but with what I would discover through relentless pursuit, as having Hirschsprung’s disease. He was hospitalized on Thanksgiving Day and underwent emergency surgery that set into motion an amazing process of self-discovery as a demonstration of human fortitude. After six surgeries, two colostomies, and surgically implanted mainlines due to vascular breakdown of all available IV sites, he peeked out at 5 lbs. 7 oz. at a little over two months old, then began a process of deteriorating. After losing weight and dropping back down to 4lbs. 8oz. at a little over three months old, he became lethargic hard to wake up, began dehydrating due to his major organs systematically starting to shut down. They diagnosed him with failure to thrive and removed all life-support and estimating approximately 48 hours before he would die. They gave me an option of leaving him in the hospital and allowing it to happen there or to take them home in when it happened to call them and they would take care of the arrangements.

I cannot even convey the level of grief I was experiencing that had began building a few weeks prior to his diagnosis. I felt detached from reality and had trouble comprehending what was going on and struggled to perform normal tasks. The next morning as I gathered him and all his things and walked out to the car, where I had to drive us home. My husband announced to me a month into it, that he couldn’t handle it and refused to come down to the hospital. I was left on my own to figure out how to deal with it. As I got to the car my legs were trembling and started buckling. I had to sit on the asphalt and try to compose myself. My heart was pounding out of my chest, and I couldn’t catch my breath, the ground was moving and I felt disoriented as those everything was closing in on me. After a brief time of trying to create a relaxed state so that I could drive the car I finally got to my feet, and secured my son in his car seat next to me in the front seat and began driving.

 
I stopped at a red light and it was as if something snapped inside of me and the whole world collapsed around me. I lost all awareness of everything outside of the car and I suddenly became overwhelmed with grief and started screaming as I was crying saying, “I refuse to accept this! I refuse. I will not allow my baby to die! He wants to live. He’s going to live. I will not accept this”. I repeated this hysterically while hitting on the steering wheel and the dashboard. Then after mumbling for a bit non-sensibly, I looked down at my son in the sunlight coming through the window made his face and peer like an angel, softly undistinguished and innocently sweet. I leaned down pressing my face against his and rocking back and forth while mumbling and sobbing, and suddenly I became extremely aware of his heartbeat. As I listened to it beating it seemed to get louder and louder. Strong and pronounced. Then a kind of silence fell around me, and I felt a calm come over me and my thoughts became collected and my heart relaxed into sync with his, and I suddenly knew what I needed to do. It was a kind of knowing that felt like a trance. Something I couldn’t articulate with words but simply knew it as a feeling inside. It was a presence in me that removed all fear and possessed me with the kind of certainty that was removed from doubt.

 
I then sat up and began driving home calmly. When I got home I gathered my son went into the house and place to quilt over the rocking chair. I closed all the curtains, lit a couple of candles, got a glass of water, removed my shirt and bra took all the clothes off my son except his diaper and colostomy bag, and sat down. I laid him across my bare breasts so he could hear my heart beat, smell my skin, and be warmed by my body. I then started stroking his body with loving affection, kissing his head and the side of his face, and softly sang a lullaby as a kind of humming. Then as I began rocking I ran pictures through my mind of him at six months old, smiling and laughing, then at a year old learning to walk having his first birthday while eating his cake with his fingers, then at two years, playing in the park with the other kids on the polka-dotted pony. I saw him at his second Christmas where he was fascinated with the lights and was more intrigued with the bows and the wrapping paper than he was with the presents. I imagined him at two and three years old, healthy, and strong as I became filled with overwhelming love for him as I continued caressing him, kissing him and rocking him with sweet lullabies.

At first he was lethargic and unresponsive his body was cool and limp. After a few hours he started moving his hands and feet as if getting comfortable. After about six hours he sneezed and rubbed his nose. Then he started moving as if waking up from a nap. After about eight hours, he opened his eyes and gaze straight into mine, then smiled and started acting irritable. As he began squirming slightly trying to breast-feed I thought . . . he’s actually hungry! When I put them down to get his bottle he cried until I picked him back up. He then drank 4 ounces of a special formula, and later ate some mashed bananas. By the next day he was fully active, eating, cooing, in playing in his crib.
The hospital called me two days later because they couldn’t figure out why they hadn’t heard from me. When I told his doctor that he had made what seemed like a full recovery and was eating, drinking, and playing, he was in disbelief and wanted me to bring him in for a checkup. Upon examining him he said, “this doesn’t make any sense, this shouldn’t be possible”. He was then struck by the fact that he recovered without any side effects from what appeared as deterioration of his major organs. He then began questioning me on what I had done, how I had done it, and what on earth possessed me to do it, and when I told him, he just got a blank look on his face stared for a moment, and said “I guess a mother’s love is the ultimate healing force after all”, and shook his head.

 
This would instill confidence for what would come four months later on the second go around to remove part of his intestines, which after healing, they would close his colostomy, which they had originally planned it for 14 to 16 months old as he needed to be around 17 pounds to perform the operation. By the time he was seven months old he weighed 16 1/2 pounds. In four months he had gained 12 pounds. The doctor was just struck with amazement. He laughed and said, “I don’t know what you’re feeding him, but it’s certainly working!”
After a series of surgeries the second time, they remove part of his intestines, let that heal for a couple weeks and then closed his colostomy, after which time he began falling into the same pattern. They then came to me saying that he wasn’t responding to treatment and they needed to put him back on life support and implant IV lines into his chest. But this time I elected to take him out of the hospital without permission and bring him home to heal instead in the same way I had done before. Again, it worked beautifully and within hours he was awake, alert and eating. He had his first bowel movement at 8 1/2 months old.

 
Through this experience I learned what it means to love someone so much I was willing to die for him. My life crumbled before my eyes, and I lost everything I owned. In that moment I became very clear on what really matters and what doesn’t. I learned that we can access super-human strength when we actually need to. And I touched on the strength of my moral fiber that served to catapult me into greater and greater levels intuition, self-knowledge and confidence that comes from believing in myself and forming absolute faith based on that. I acquired the confidence to stand up against all odds, and walk fully awake into the flame without flinching or shrinking back with intimidation.

 
So with that experience, when I came into contact with the healing practice of Reiki and Energy Medicine several years later, I immediately saw the connection and chose to study it as a primary healing modality that actually had a name.

Imagination – “As Opposed to Creative Visualization”

The tendency to represent the idea of “imagining something” as “visualizing it”, can make the idea seem fairly confusing. Visualizing indicates forming inner images, pictures and scenes as movies that play out in the mind as a form of anticipated or wished for experience. Then, because its portrayed this way, many get confused as to “how to” visualize, what it means exactly, and believe that it means to see fully detailed, colored images and scenes that play out with precision and detail, and while it certainly can be this way, especially for a well developed imagination, for most people it’s usually much more impressionistic. Most visualization resembles the type of image we see as a reflection in glass or water, or a reflection in a dark, shiny surface where it’s more shadow-like and formed, yet not particularly detailed. This resembles what is referred to as “thought-forms” that exist in the astral field of the mind as shadowy images that we form through thinking about or dwelling on ideas, or recalling a memory of some kind.

 
The imagination however, is a faculty of the mind that forms a full sensory experience that while it’s main component is visual images and impressionistic shapes, it also focuses heavily on hearing and sounds, feelings as intuitive and as touching the surface of material reality, any forms of smells that would be inherent in the experience, and taste whenever appropriate, as well as the internal dialogue as thoughts that we naturally have while engaging in any type of experience and the emotions the experience elicits. Our inner dialogue is what we are telling ourselves ‘about’ the experience that makes it mean something. The imagination takes an inspired idea as unformed, and shapes it into a full 3-D sensory reality that is realistic and believable, and therefore possible. The true use of the imagination however, places the greatest emphasis on “feelings” that we have as a result of the inner experience we are having. The feeling is the full-body intuitive sensation that blends the visual into a holistic experience as a form of memory that is complete with emotions, thoughts and meaning that brings realization around an idea that can only be obtained through the experience of it. This reality formed in the imagination through thinking, creates a form of template that makes us a channel for the imagined idea to become a reality as an outer expression that’s a correspondence to the inner experience.

This is the creative power of the mind to create experience by first creating it internally while shaping it with sensory detail and definition that sets the vibratory patterning that attracts and organizes the outer experience as a correspondence. The outer experience is not exact to the imagined one, although it can be, but is rather analogous to the inner experience. It’s of the same nature and theme as the internal experience, yet modified according to the elements available in the immediate surroundings, and the will, personality and interactive quality of those participating in the orchestration of the outer experience. Because the outer requires other people, situations and events, the original vision is modified accordingly as a basic requirement to incorporate the ideas and desires of all who partake in the over-all experience that is co-created as a shared reality.

 
This is why the emphasis is always placed on the “feeling” of the experience rather than the visual aspect. Visually it may be entirely different than you imagined it, yet it will feel the same. It’ll be the same type of idea as a form of theme, which is being illustrated in a modified and varied manner. The feeling, as the vibratory frequency is what composes and structures the experience to be of a certain patterning that beautifully conforms to the influences that everyone participating contributes, while maintaining the same basic idea as the essence of the over-all experience. You will recognize the fulfillment of your wish, not by what it looks like, but by what it feels like as you realize you’re in the process of having it.

What are the Differences between Hypnosis and Guided Meditation?

The true differences depend on what you are referring to as hypnosis or meditation in terms of how they are actually conducted as a practice. Many different styles exist for both methods of inner exploration and mind development, as well as methods taught to professionals as opposed to non-professionals, which in the case of professionals also involves an extensive amount of knowledge in several other areas, including psychology, mind and consciousness studies as well as natural and universal laws that are inherent throughout Nature and all living systems, that also govern the human mind-body system. For example, meditation, while some relate to it as calming the mind and relinquishing all thoughts, this is only one form of meditation, of which there are many varieties as a means of ‘acquiring’ inner knowledge through the universal language of Light, in which knowledge is received by first activating it, then simply witnessing it as it unfolds in a dynamic light dance of evolving forms. Whereas hypnosis tends to be purpose driven with a specific intention as a desired outcome, created by stimulating the imagination through ideas as suggestions that form an inner reality as a conceptualization that the subconscious mind can use in place of an actual experience.

 

So again, this would depend on your level of experience and method of practice, but the most noticeable difference is that hypnosis is used to achieve a specific outcome by reprogramming the subconscious mind to perform new types of behavior. It’s usually undertaken with a specific goal in mind, which determines the method used and the nature of the suggestions given it while in a relaxed and receptive state that are spontaneously introduced into the mind and developed by the imagination into vivid inner realities as experience that can be used as memory by the subconscious mind to form new patterns of behavior that are automatic and natural. They provide the subconscious aspect of the mind with a form of ‘virtual memory” as a living experience that creates a template as a form of dynamic theme for producing more of the same type of experiences. Because the subconscious operates according to memory as actual sensory enhanced realities and is emotionally driven, an idea is introduced, then developed into a sensory reality that’s imbued with strong emotions that make it very compelling. This is a basic means of ‘reprogramming the mind’ by creating intentional experiences that act as a thematic template for reproducing similar experiences, as well as toning the mind to new vibratory frequencies which form correspondences to the realities inherent within those frequencies. Vibration forms feeling states that have thematic realities as personal experiences inherent within them. Whatever realities we imagine with strong emotions and repetitively, we program ourselves to, as a perceptual lens that only sees what matches and can be used to create more of the same experiences.

The primary difference between the two is that hypnosis is undertaken with a distinct idea in mind in terms of reprogramming or healing the mind of self-created illusions (beliefs) to form new inner realities that become the basis for changing what is often habitual or conditioned behavior. It works to reprogram the mind intentionally to reshape the perceptual lens of the mind by forming new representations associated to different emotions that either make ideas compelling and desirable, or undesirable and repulsive, based on how we form associations in connection with them. Hypnosis, which is always ‘self-hypnosis’, even when conducted by a hypnotherapist who simply walks you through a process that requires you to cooperate with them by how you use your own mind and imagination to form new associations as inner experiences, is the most effective way there is to self-create by rewiring your neurology with new programming that forms the basis for automatically forming desired experiences that are health promoting, empowering, and growth oriented.

 

But hypnosis, like all things is only as effective as the hypnotherapist is skilled, and the person undergoing it fully cooperates, and is a scientific art-form that’s intuitive in nature. While meditation can also be undertaken in a similar manner, once the conscious mind, which is the directive, goal oriented mind is subdued, and only the subconscious mind is present and in an active state, you lose track of your own process or what your purpose was and begin a kind of free-form imagining. A hypnosis practitioner is required as the directive component that continues working on the imagination in place of the conscious mind with a sense of purpose and a focus on the desired outcome. They substitute as the conscious mind which is required to direct the subconscious mind to new forms of behavior born out of new inner experiences that it turns into a form of memory that provides it with a patterning for creating more of the same type of experiences through its ability to form fundamental and natural perceptions.

As a basic rule of thumb, meditation is primarily used for study by conceptualizing ideas to form realities out of them, inner exploration of various sorts, or to tune into the universal mind, form energetic sympathy with it and form an inner perception as a kind of download of universal knowledge as laws that are experienced as a means of transmission . . . whereas hypnosis is best for intentional practices designed to reprogram the mind at the energetic level to express in new ways by forming new realities that are initiated and developed through our own interactive behavior. It’s a means of self-development that intentionally develops our character as the basis for natural behavior through the realities it generates naturally as a correspondence. If you want to develop yourself in very specific ways with immediate results . . . then hypnosis, provided by a skilled practitioner, or by developing your own skill at using your mind to reshape realty, is your best method.

Learning to Relax: The Art of Managing your Emotional State

One of the first things we need to realize when working to change conditioned tendencies and habits of any kind, is that we don’t have to ‘stop’ something, but rather begin ‘doing’ something else. So to say things like “stop stressing out”, “quit worrying”, or “just relax”, don’t mean anything in the truest sense, because we’re not telling them “how” to do it, or “what” to do instead. Just as you have to learn how to quit thinking in terms of what you ‘don’t want’, and focus on what you ‘do want’ instead, when changing any behavior or practice, we simply direct our attention into a different activity and concentrate on doing it, knowing that in doing so, we’ll give ourselves a new behavior to do in place of the behavior we’re eliminating. All creation and transformation begins by learning to control and direct our attention into what we want to do, rather than what we don’t. We don’t ever quit habits, but rather transform them into new habits.

 
The first component to learning how to systematically relax your body is by learning to breathe correctly. While this idea has a funny sound to it, because it’s something we all do naturally and therefore are hardly ever instructed on ‘how’ to do it, comes by becoming aware of the power of our breathing, and the relationship it has with all other mental, emotional, and physical functions of our mind-body system. Just by focusing our attention on our breathing, turns our attention inwards and we become centered in our body. By first taking a couple of deep breaths, regulates our breathing, which can then be allowed to fall into a smooth and consistent rhythm. By breathing deeply, extending into the abdomen, we influence all major body systems with the same rhythmic motion, synchronizing them. When we inhale deeply, then pause in a slight hesitation, before exhaling, then slightly hesitating again before drawing in our next breath, prevents us from hyperventilating, and also introduces a form of timing, that calms the mind and relaxes the whole body by way of the same double count. Draw in, relax, release, and relax.

 
You’ll notice that just by regulating your breathing in a conscious way, simultaneously calms your mind, releases emotional tension held in the body, and slows your heart rate down. As your heart rates drops to a relaxed state, your blood pressure drops with it, and more tension is released. If your mind starts drifting away from your breathing, simply redirect your attention back into the rhythm of your breath and become present once again in your body. As you continue breathing in a relaxed pace, bring your attention to how different parts of your body feels. Get a good sense of anyplace in your body that your holding tension of some kind.

Then, become aware of your feet, place your attention on your feet, and set the intention to relax them, and gently, but firmly tell them to relax. Feel them relax. Tell yourself, my feet are relaxed. Then become aware of your calves, and mentally direct your calves to relax. Repeat the same process to relax your lower legs. Then, repeating this process move systematically through your thighs, hips, abdomen, lower back, up your spine to your shoulders, into your chest, yours arms, shoulders and neck, up the back of your head, your ears, jaw, face and eyes. Systematically using your mind to relax your whole body. If you notice at any point that some part of your body already relaxed is starting to tense back up, simply stop and relax that part again, then pick up where you left off. Once your whole body is relaxed, just take a moment to notice how it feels. Be present with the feeling of your body, and sense yourself in a fully relaxed state.

 
Allow yourself to notice that as your body relaxes, so does your mind. Your mind is in sync with your body. They share the same feeling state. You feel a distinct calmness and inner peace throughout your entire being, and just allow yourself to notice . . . how good it feels . . . to relax. Give your full attention to this feeling of inner peace, and relish in it for a bit. Then, move your attention outward, expanding into your peripheral while staying centered in your body, and simply ‘feel’ everything around you. Notice how it feels to be there, to be present “in it” and a part “of it”. Notice the things around you, while refraining from “thinking about them”, and instead simply notice how they feel as you give them your attention and how that feeling resonates in your body.

 
Notice that when you calm your obsessive thinking, and focus on how it feels to be present with life, that time seems to stand still, your awareness expands out away from you, and you become intimately part of the space around you. When you’re no longer focused on listening to your own thoughts, and blend into the silence outside of you, you begin realizing that there’s a whole reality going on, that, for the most part, you’re completely unaware of, because you normally exist primarily in the reality produced by your own thinking and imagining mind. And while you hear the sounds around you, which are outside of you, you simultaneously feel the pulsation of your own heartbeat and feel an inner silence that brings a strange feeling of contentment and inner peace. Content . . . to just BE.

 
As you continue to practice this, starting with a couple of times a day, you’ll begin noticing that you not only feel better and have more energy (tension requires a lot of energy to maintain), and that you can concentrate deeper and for longer periods of time, but that you aren’t experiencing “negative” emotions nearly as often. This is because most emotions, particularly negative ones, form tension in your body. Notice that whenever you experience strong emotions, your whole body tenses up, with distinct concentrations of tension and strong sensations in particular parts of your body. You can work to control and regulate your emotional states just by learning to keep your body in a relaxed state. By managing your physical state, you simultaneously manage your emotional state to be equivalent, and you also manage your thoughts.


Notice, that when you feel relaxed, you have a tendency to feel positive (or neutral) emotionally, and your thoughts which are normally produced by others, environmental influences, and your emotional states, slow down, become relaxed and take on a somewhat pleasant quality. Also allow yourself to notice that some emotions actually produce a relaxed state, specifically feelings of love, beauty and grief. So as you begin releasing tension from your body, and develop the ability to maintain a relaxed state consistently, you begin naturally experiencing more pleasant emotions and the type of thoughts that go with them.

 
Start off doing this practice for short periods of between 5 and 15 minutes, once or twice a day, and begin using it to go to sleep at night. The more you do it, the easier it gets, and the quicker you can enter the full state of relaxation. By practicing for 4 to 6 weeks, a couple of times a day, it’ll become natural to you and you’ll be able to induce the state at will in an instant fashion. The more you do it, and the easier it gets, you may notice that you start extending the length of time naturally (relaxing feels good). Do whatever comes natural that you’re comfortable with doing. Once you’ve been doing it for awhile, and realize how good it feels, you’ll start doing it more often. You’ll begin using it like a tool for “self-management” anytime you feel stressed, anxious, or having a strong emotional event of some sort. The more present and relaxed you become in your life, the healthier and happier you’ll be in the most general sense.
