Self-Mastery: Learning how to not be affected by others

Many of us spend our whole life a slave to the attitude, behaviors, and opinions of other people. We’re in a constant form of reaction from one moment to the next, beings jerked around like a puppet on strings, often crushed by a rude comment. If someone is hateful or sarcastic in some way towards us, it can throw us into a tailspin that can last for days, weeks, or even months. Someone with a bad attitude that’s also aggressive can outright terrify us, especially with all the mass shootings being staged and publicized around the world. Most people spend their entire life being shaped and determined by other people and the rules of society, usually without any direct awareness of how it’s happening or the reason why. Many people have completely lost touch with their soul and their real power to create in their life, and don’t even realize it.

One of the most basic forms of empowerment comes from a fundamental understanding of psychology and what it is that drives people’s behaviors. By coming to understand what drives other people’s behaviors, we can gain a better understanding of our own behavior in response to them. We’re all only capable of “bringing out in others” more of what’s “like us”. Whatever qualities we embody and express outwardly act to stimulate and bring out those same qualities in others as a natural response to us. Energetically, we’re always vibrating the same state of mind in everyone we interact with. We’re always in the process of mentally and emotionally influencing others to become more like us by how we perceive them and treat them accordingly.

Anyone who has been beat down and criticized as a child, either grows up to beat others down with the same type of criticism and mental attitude, or they remain super sensitive to anyone who has an attitude of criticizing them. The act of criticizing produces an equal and complementary reaction. The effect produced is always an expression of what caused it. There are no exceptions to this rule. The confusion tends to come when we only look at one side of the equation, instead of recognizing that everything operates as a whole pattern. All patterns form as a “dynamic” that’s holistic in nature and played out unconsciously through our basic perception, attitude, conditioned tendencies, and automatic behaviors.

Most people when being criticized or dealing with a sarcastic or mean person, focus almost exclusively on the person they perceive as doing it “to them”, rather than focusing on what’s happening inside of them as their own reaction. All energy, which is what emotional expression is, exists in a fundamental state of polarity as complementary opposites that move in-sync with each other. Anger, for example, provokes either and equal or greater response of anger, which escalates and intensifies it, or it causes a fearful response that backs down and becomes submissive. Any emotional response, whether sympathetic or antipathetic, nurtures and sustains the anger/emotion because both people are cooperating with each other in co-creating a joint reality out of the “active force” of anger. Any “reaction”, which comes in an immediate and automatic fashion that matches the energy being projected, is a basic form of control. Anytime we’re reacting, we’re being controlled by whatever it is we’re reacting to. The easiest way there is to control someone is through their emotions and the sensationalized realities they create internally.

 Every human being develops their own “mental paradigm” based on their formative conditioning. All of our initial conditioning takes place while we’re in a primarily unconscious state, and acts to literally “program” our subconscious as the “model” of reality we form from it. All of our values, beliefs, preferences, and initial (developmental) memories are instilled in us as kids through our family dynamics. As we become adults our basic personality and way of perceiving others and the world around us has been firmly established and we simply continue to live out of the same perceptions, tendencies, and relationship dynamics that we were a part of as kids. We continue to view the world and others the same way we were taught. In psychology we say that “we become one of our parents, and we marry the other one”. Whatever type of relationships was modeled for us as kids and that we played an active role in, becomes the same type of relationships we enter into and maintain romantically, socially, and professionally. We play out the same ideas over and over with different people and situations.

These dynamics become the themes that serve as a metaphor for our life. They usually involve ideas around our self-esteem (image of ourselves), such as not being good enough, not being worthy, not loved or wanted, being stupid, bad, ugly, and so on, which is why they ultimately serve as self-fulfilling prophecies that we wrap our identify around as adults. We “become” whatever we’ve been programmed psychologically to become by what we were told, heard being said about us, and how we were treated by those we cared about the most. These life themes become what we refer to psychologically as “core beliefs” that are like the nucleus of our mental model and spawn all of our other beliefs as being correlated to the same basic idea.

Dissecting Our Experience

In order to really grasp the significance of this idea, let’s take a moment and examine how it is that we create our experiences. While we tend to think that others are capable of doing something “to us”, when we examine the process closely, we can realize that we’re actually the one doing it to ourselves. We are in fact the sole creator of all our “experiences”. This idea is often confused as being our “reality” in the objective sense of what happens outside of us, when in fact how we experience what happens to us is an internal process that we perform and conduct “on” ourselves using our mind. Creating our experiences comes initially as an “unconscious process”, which means we do it naturally without any “direct awareness” of the fact that we’re actually the one doing it to ourselves. Due to the naturalness of the process, it usually completely eludes us. Yet in order to gain control over our own natural and unconscious processes, we have to form an understanding of them as a mental concept. So let’s turn our full attention inward and become aware of how we form our reactions to others.

When someone says or does something that’s offensive, hurtful, sarcastic, or mean, something that’s designed to get a rise out of us and place us in their control, we experience it as an intense internal stimulus that comes as an “emotional charge”. Once you experience the emotional stimulus, you instantly associate it to a memory where the same type of emotion and behavior was involved. Through association to a past event of the same kind, the same emotion and state are awakened and made active in you, bringing it out in you as a natural reaction. Your mind interprets “this” to mean the same thing as “that”, and you react in the present with the same emotional behavior as the past. We then act out the same behaviors and dynamics, and begin telling ourselves the same type of story about what it means about them and us in relation to them.

The story we tell ourselves as our thoughts and internal dialogue follow the same theme as our memory of the past. Emotions are always associated to memories we formed while in the same emotional state. Emotions are what drive and produce all of our natural and automatic behaviors. We’re most naturally and easily made to behave in certain ways through our emotions. Emotional memories give our subconscious the “pattern” it needs for producing automatic realities and behaviors that don’t require any thought, appraisal or decisions.

When we live out of our emotions we live out of the memories and conditioning of our past and continue to create more of the same type of experiences. We repeat the same patterns with the same type of people and relive the same type of experiences in new ways over and over. As we create our experiences, we simultaneously identify with them, and shape ourselves “through” our experiences. We once again replay the broken and worn out record that says we’re not good enough, worthless, stupid, not wanted, loved, blah, blah, blah, and due to the fact that we produce an “experience of ourselves” out of the emotional charge, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

From a purely psychological perspective, we only “react” to and feel hurt or threatened by those who are conditioned to the same type of dynamics as we are, and therefore naturally play the role necessary for acting it out. Whenever we’re triggered by someone’s behavior towards us, it’s actually providing us with a mirror to learn how to see things in ourselves that we’re normally not fully aware of. It’s showing us where we’re still living out of the illusions and pain of the past that we never came to terms with, identified accurately, or put to rest. It’s still alive and active within us because we haven’t gained any real awareness around it that brought self-realization. Due to the fact that we still maintain a belief around it as being true, we continue to faithfully act it out over and over with the right people.

A person’s attitude and behaviors stem from their mental paradigm and psychological complexes, and in reality, have nothing to do with us. When someone calls us stupid, it doesn’t mean that we are in fact stupid, but shows us that they were made to feel stupid as a kid growing up, and are now compensating by trying to make others feel stupid in order to somehow elevate themselves above them. The lower they make someone else, the higher they become in comparison. They’re unconscious beings who are used to verbally attacking others in the same way they were verbally abused. Their opinion, perception, attitude and conduct only serves to “reveal” who “they are” and says nothing meaningful about us . . . unless, of course, we let it.

When we take what others say and do personally by internalizing it, we actually believe what they’re saying and accept it as being true about us, especially if we grew up being called the same names. The reason we “react emotionally” is because we’re used to it and we’ve been treated that way in the past. When we react by being hurt or offended, we’re actually agreeing with them and may secretly feel it’s somehow true. That’s what a reaction is. We know how to play a role in the reality they’re creating, and so we cooperate by participating in making it real. For example, if you know you’re not stupid or dumb, and someone calls you that, it has no effect on you in the most basic sense; outside of the fact that you may think they’re being rude. Nothing gets stimulated internally and there are no memories of the same type that are necessary to produce and automatic and immediate reaction. Anytime we react to being called a name it’s because deep down inside we think it may be true.

Self-Observation and Realization

In order to understand this psychological process, simply observe your own reactions from a neutral and unbiased standpoint. Start by finding a place and time where you can have privacy, and sit calmly and fully relax. Then recall an event where you felt hurt or upset by something someone said or did to you, and reflect on it in slow motion. Slow it down and review it step by step. Recall what was said or done, how it was said or done, what attitude, emotions, and behaviors were involved, and what it was regarding. Then turn all of your attention inward and focus exclusively on your own internal process.

Recall the emotional charge as it entered your body, and notice where in your body it lodged and stimulated you. Notice the nature of the stimulus by describing it in sensory terms. Was it sharp and stabbing, did it give you a sinking feeling, or did it cause you to feel afraid or scared? Notice what emotion was activated in you, and while refraining from going into a reaction again or telling yourself a story about it that justifies your right to react the way you did, just notice and witness what you’re thought process was and what it seemed to be about.

Allow yourself to notice what it brought up for you. What memory of the past started playing out in the background of your mind. What is it that you begin telling yourself about what it “means”? Then allow a natural chain-of-association to form as any other related or similar memories or scenario’s that it acted to prompt. Notice and become aware of anything that arises in relation to this event. Resist the tendency to repress it in any way, explain it away, or justify your right to be hurt or upset, and just observe your own internal process from a neutral and unbiased perspective. Then allow yourself to realize that you’re actually the one “creating” the state of being hurt or upset. No one is thinking your thoughts or feeling your feelings for you. You’re actually the one “doing it” to yourself by how you’re using your mind and body. It may feel as if you can’t help it (which is what unconscious means), but just notice and watch what’s going on inside of you.

Once you gain true self-awareness around what’s happening and why, and you bring what’s happening unconsciously into conscious awareness, this awareness alone neutralizes its effect. At the same time, you can become aware of what it is in you or about you that you need to heal and transform. All true healing is psychological in nature, and comes only by shedding light on the hidden aspects of your own psyche. We naturally act to heal ourselves by becoming aware of the patterns as memories we incurred as children that are continuing to act out in our life by forming all of our natural perceptions and reactive behaviors. Through awareness of the fact that we’re the one creating the reality of our memories, we dissolve them, and they no longer play out in an automatic fashion. We can be around the same person doing the same thing, and it no longer bothers us. We perceive it in a matter of fact way and no longer engage with them in co-creating that reality for ourselves.

As a general practice, if you do this process of self-reflection anytime you’re being triggered into a reaction of some kind, it’ll help you to become self-aware and resume conscious control of yourself and what it is you’re acting to create. You can begin healing yourself and taking back your power to create in a more aware and responsible manner. As you begin neutralizing your emotional reactions to others and the events of your life, you take back control of your own life. As you start remaining calm and clear headed in relation to others, you can begin developing skill in using your mind and imagination in a more deliberate and purposeful way. As you begin creating from a conscious and self-aware state, you take over the process of facilitating your own growth and development. You take back and begin utilizing your soul’s ability to create yourself from a fully awake and aware state and in whatever way you want and decide to.

Realizing your True Self and Transcending the False Ego of your Past

One of the most fundamental spiritual errors we make in life is in believing that we are the personality of our body and conditioning. As a human soul born into an animal body, we acquire the physical characteristics and ancestral memory that’s inherent in our genes. Our genetic makeup bestows us with the basic tendencies that are then developed by our family dynamics (those who share the same tendencies) as our formative conditioning that serves to birth our initial identity (ego). Through our formative conditioning we form a story about our self that becomes our life theme. As we grow into adults we take over the process of continuing to condition ourselves by living out of the same story. We usually do this without ever realizing that the only reason it holds true for us is because we continue to live our life as though it’s true. Many people (actually most), firmly believe that they “are” their personality as they were shaped by others and society, and have no real ability to change themselves. They live their entire life without ever realizing that they’re actually the “story-teller” and one that’s producing the reality of their story, rather than a mere consequence of the story itself.

As we come into this life and our soul acquires the qualities of our genetic makeup, we’re initially shaped by others and outside forces to strengthen and develop certain qualities while others remain latent and underutilized. We exist as children in a predominately unconscious state (of hypnosis) where we readily take in and internalize whatever consciousness is actively being expressed and demonstrated all around us. Whatever dynamics we’re apart of as a family structure, we become programmed with, and they serve to form the foundation for the story we begin telling ourselves as a means of making sense of things as we begin developing our conscious mind (between 8 and 21 years).

Our personality is formed from an unconscious state as a form of hypnotic programming that lays the foundation as a life theme for our identity to spontaneously emerge through our conscious development. As we begin thinking for ourselves and forming our own ideas about things (somewhere around puberty) we take over our own unconscious programming as our internal dialogue and the perceptual filters that we use for producing all of our experiences. We take over where our family left off, and our parent’s voice becomes our own internal voice and the means through which we interpret things to give them meaning through the story we begin telling ourselves about them. Our conditioning forms the basis for all of our initial internal dialogue as our means of thinking and processing information to form a consistent experience of our self, others, and the world around us. Out of this initial story-line as a life theme we consciously begin developing our identity by the roles we naturally take on and play through the relationship we form with the outer world and our life circumstances.   

All of our primary memories are formed from significant emotional events in our life that had a strong impact of some kind that altered us in some way. The emotional impact came at a time when we couldn’t rationalize it in an objective manner, and so we processed the experience internally by making it all about us. As a child we perceive ourselves as being one with our family unit and haven’t yet developed the mental capacity to see ourselves as sovereign individuals. Whatever we hear being said about us by others around us we accept as being true without questioning it, and form beliefs about our self as a result. Through a basic form of hypnotic suggestion we’re given (subliminally programmed with) the same values, attitudes, perspectives, beliefs, emotional states, and behavioral dynamics as our family unit. We always shape ourselves to be just like our family, or what we imagine to be the opposite (relate or contrast), but either way, we still form ourselves by way of our family.

As we grow older we fall into a very specific and pronounced role within that dynamic and we begin developing ourselves based on what we’ve been taught to believe about ourselves and the way things are. Whatever other people say about us when we’re a child acts as a creative directive (hypnotic suggestion) for our subconscious to produce as a reality. The beliefs we form about ourselves as a child become our “core beliefs” out of which we form all of our other beliefs as a correlation, and ultimately becomes a form of “self-fulfilling prophecy”. What we call our soul’s “destiny” is usually the result of our conditioning as our “false identity”.

By the time our conscious and self-aware mind develops fully (around 21 to 28 years old), where we develop the powers of reasoning, discernment, and the ability to logically analyze things, and we separate emotionally from our parents and begin seeing our self as an individual, we’re already programmed and take over the process of conditioning (creating) ourselves by continuing to live out of our past. We continue to see ourselves and process our experiences as we’ve been taught to through our conditioning, and the voice of those who judged and criticized us becomes our own internal voice that we continue playing over and over in our mind.

How we Shape Ourselves

We all have a tendency to only live out of a handful of memories that we use as the means of constructing our story about ourselves and our life. These are the memories that had the greatest impact on us, and that we use in a continuous fashion to shape ourselves accordingly. There are many other memories that we could use that would contradict our story, or tell a different type of story altogether, but we choose to ignore and exclude those, and often, over time, forget them completely. This natural ability to select the memories that we use to build our life story out of is a demonstration of our soul’s true ability to create itself, but of course we usually fail completely to realize “how” our mind is operating to “create”, and focus instead on the conditioned content as what we’ve been taught to think and feel. We don’t know how to recognize the laws by which our mind works to create an image of ourselves “as” a certain type of person, and believe instead in the illusion of our own making.

My own experience of this as a realization came from a basic form of inner guidance that called me on my own story about things. One of the feelings I always had as a kid was that nobody knew me as I really am, and judged me instead to be the same as my family, which I was nothing like in the most basic sense. As a young adult I moved to a town where nobody knew me or my family, and as I was getting ready to walk through the doors of a restaurant I was working at, it seemed like a kind of metaphor for walking into a new reality, and a voice inside said . . . okay Linda, you’re always saying that people don’t know you for who you really are, so who are you? The only thing that people are going to know about you here is what you choose to tell them. No one knows anything about your past or what you’ve been through. And I decided at that point that I wasn’t going to talk about my past or my family.

What I immediately noticed is how people looked at me and how they treated me based on being myself. I felt a kind of heaviness had been lifted from me, and a strange, newfound freedom. Like I was standing in front of a blank canvas and deciding what I was going to create. I had a blank piece of paper where I could write whatever story I wanted to. As a result of never talking about my past and deciding I was going to create myself in a conscious manner, I began forgetting about the past and over time thought about it less and less. As I no longer chose to dwell in memories of the past, I began feeling different about myself and my life. My personal growth during this time was phenomenal and I slowly began transforming myself into a completely new type of person. The person I consciously decided to be.

Many years later, when I finally opened up and talked briefly about my childhood and what I went through growing up, people that knew me were shocked. They had no idea and thought I had come from a well-to-do family, had an extensive education, and was nurtured as a child by loving parents. As time went on, many years later, when I would talk about the crazy stuff we did as kids (I had 3 older brothers), instead of talking about it as abuse and tragedy, I decided I was going to embody the outlook and attitude of two of my favorite fictional characters, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, and I re-told the stories of my past in a humorous and adventurous way. All of my stories about running away, hoping trains to who knows where, and living in forts on the streets became exciting adventures of exploration and freedom. I retold the exact same experiences from and entirely different perspective, and as a result changed the memories themselves in terms of how I “experienced” them and how I felt about myself as a result. I literally recreated myself using the same memories as life events while experiencing them in a whole new way. This was my first lesson in the art of self-transformation.

Now, as a fully mature person who has lived many lives in the course of this life and personality, I hardly ever talk about my past or myself in the general sense, and instead practice being present, talk about ideas and what my life is about currently. I’ve grown so much in terms of my ability to create myself intentionally that I don’t even relate to the little girl in my memories anymore. Many people see me as mysterious and a bit hard to get to know, without realizing that it’s because I no longer choose to live from my unconscious conditioning of the past, and instead identify with my true self as a universal being that’s the “storyteller” and the one creating the reality rather than the hypnotized personality still living out of the past and how I was shaped by others.

To wake-up in life isn’t to “heal from the past” by going through years of therapy where you “work through the issues of your past”, which usually only causes you to become even more identified with your past and the need to tell about “what happened to you” as a means of explaining why you’re the way you are. It comes instead through realizing who you really are as a soul and identifying instead with being the one who’s doing the creating by way of the story you keep telling yourself and others, often referred to as “your truth”. It’s detaching from your own past memories formed as a child when you had no real self-awareness and assuming the position of being the one who’s creating an image of yourself and producing the reality of your life “as” that story. You decide that you no longer need to keep telling that story as an expression of who you are, and you let go of it as a result. You no longer present yourself through the stories of your past and realize instead that you can create in the present whatever experience of yourself you want to by simply choosing to operate your own mind and imagination in an intentional manner.

What we think of as our “self” is formed out of memories. Our memories only remain alive if we continue to give them life in the present by constantly reliving them in our imagination. To change the self, you have to change the memories that serve to form it. All memories are actually something we create by how we interpret the events of our life out of whatever emotional state we were in at the time. By constantly reliving the memories over and over keeps us locked into the same emotional states. Whatever memory we play out and the emotion it keeps us infused with forms all of our natural perceptions, behaviors, and activities. You don’t change a memory by reinterpreting it to give it new meaning, but by “experiencing” the same event from a different perspective and attitude that causes you to “feel different” and elicits a different emotion in response to it. We evolve and transform ourselves by re-imagining our life experiences. All will to create lies in masterful use of your own imagination.

Practicing Spiritual Knowledge as a means of Creating

       There always seem to be a fundamental disconnect between attaining spiritual knowledge in theoretical form and actually knowing how to bring it into practice in your everyday life not only as the means of creating with it, but also as the means of actually “learning it” through experience. We only actually “know” what we can do. We have to actually “earn” knowledge by living it. We acquire it by entering into an intimate relationship where we “become one with it” in mind and action. We only really know if something is true or not by applying it and seeing what the results are. When we study something as a theory, formed at best by our ability to conceptualize it as an internal experience, we create it in the same way we learned it, by memorizing someone else’s account and using it in place of our own.

      All spiritual growth and development only comes by way of intuitively applying principles in order to “create” in a personal and individual manner. When we move into higher forms of consciousness everything becomes about moving out of the group mind mentality of accepting truth as something you were taught rather than from the direct experience of it that brings deep insights and realizations. All higher knowledge exists as laws and principles which are processes and operations that can be interpreted any number of ways and applied effectively to any type of situation or circumstances to create in a predictable manner. Laws are what allow us to connect with and perceive the true nature of things regardless of what their outer appearance looks like or the specific elements involved.

       This individuality of higher knowledge is self-evident in the fact that nearly all spiritual texts are written in metaphors, analogies, symbolic ideas, and allegories that require intuition in order to interpret as a means of understanding the principles involved. However we interpret a symbolic idea is based on how we adapt it to our current collection of similar ideas, our level of scientific and philosophical knowledge, our level of maturity and experience, what stage of life we’re in, our cultural conditioning, and so on, so that every person forms a perception as their own creation that serves their growth in an ideal way.

       There are an infinite number of ways to perceive the same idea because it’s eternal in nature and not based on material elements or a specific location within space and time. The same principle can be applied to any situation in order to create in a unique yet consistent manner each time. So there’s no such thing as someone else knowing what’s true and right for you. Only you know truth through your ability to conceive of it and bring it into expression through actions of some kind. All allegories are simply describing situations where universal principles are playing out and all people and elements of the story are archetypal and metaphorical in nature.

      All “qualities of consciousness” have “planes of knowledge” associated with them that we only have access to by embodying and “becoming” that quality. All knowledge of a higher, conscious nature than the material plane of unconsciousness requires us to step fully into our individual, altruistic, sovereign nature and completely trust in our ability to “know” what’s true and therefore right for us through our own soul’s volition. We have to believe in ourselves and our ability to know through reason and self-realization. All principles playing out on the grand scale of the cosmos are also playing out and being reflected within us. Our soul is the “medium” and a kind of bridge or link that connects us to our higher self and requires us to choose our own ability to know without being taught or instructed by another. Anytime we’re looking for answers outside of ourselves, or wanting to somehow be told and guided on what to think or do, we’re making a very fundamental error and are only capable of acting as a receptacle for man-made knowledge of the lower, group mind.

Action is Required in Order to Know

       Some believe that you can simply imagine ideas and it’ll act the same as actually doing them. Yet they fail to recognize the basic principle involved in this idea, which is that our imagination is simply the way we communicate an idea to our subconscious by providing the pattern as a kind of template for producing as an actual reality that allows us to experience it. The subconscious understands the language of symbols and metaphors and is psychologically stimulated by symbolic ideas that we often don’t even recognize. We can only do what we can first imagine ourselves doing. We actually act to program our own subconscious with ideas we want it to create by developing them in detail by thinking about them in a concentrated manner.

       All knowledge that’s attained through experience as practice of some kind becomes a natural part of our mental paradigm which is constructed out of memory. It’s the experience that serves to integrate it forming an actual memory of it. Anything practiced consistently until it becomes habit and natural part of our nature and perception, is permanently retained as our “soul’s essence”. It becomes a natural part of our normal way of being and acting and becomes eternal in nature as a result. Knowledge that’s integrated as direct experience becomes our soul’s essence which transcends our physical death and identification with our body, forming our predisposition, temperament, and natural tendencies in all proceeding incarnations, whatever they may be.

       Only what has been practiced faithfully and made habitual as our “natural way of being” remains a permanent part of us, and whatever we only hold as an idea or theory as a form of memorization of someone else’s interpretation, that’s never actually brought into practice of some kind, dies with our body. Whatever was formed in us as a part of the group mind is “of” this plane and doesn’t transcend it after death. Only what’s created by us through our ability to reason, think for ourselves, and embody qualities that we use to produce our actions, is of a higher, more intelligent and creative plane, and acts to transcend the lower plane altogether. We only retain what we use to create ourselves through the habits we form.

       All spiritual knowledge is only attained by becoming one with the qualities associated to that plane and by bringing fundamental universal laws into practice within your daily life as the means of forming your lifestyle. We only acquire knowledge by forming the appropriate state of mind that makes us a channel for their expression, providing us with the means of creating ourselves to be like them. Whatever experiences we create by how we use our mind, shapes our identity, and our identity is our “I AM” of self-awareness. Our actions both reveal and define us. It’s how we’re being and what we do that demonstrates who we are in the true sense, not what we talk about or try to use as the means of creating an image of ourselves as being spiritual and therefore knowledgeable.

       We originally merge into ideas with our mind by imagining them as a working concept or type of reality. All true knowledge exists as universal principles that can be applied to any situation or set of circumstances to create in a predictable manner. Principles are universal because they exist as metaphors that are thematic in nature. It’s not the situation or story being used that’s the knowledge, but rather the principles that are forming and animating it as a creative process. Once we’re able to intuitively grasp the principles involved or that are being described in any body of knowledge, we have the means for being able to apply those principles in our daily life in a number of ways and through different types of processes. Principles aren’t specific to material conditions but are what acts to organize and produce those conditions and circumstances. They consist of archetypal ideas that form patterns that are living metaphors as symbolic ideas that can be applied indefinitely to any number of situations to create in a deliberate and fully conscious way.

Introspection, Self-Awareness, and Transforming Yourself by Learning how to Work through Your Own Tendencies

       One of the ways we keep ourselves locked into a dis-empowered position in our own life is through the tendency to believe that other people are the ones who “do things to us” beyond our control, and by always focusing on the other person in a situation while making what’s happening all about us somehow. We get emotionally triggered by something someone says or does and we instantly react by going unconscious and playing out the natural tendencies we’ve been conditioned with. We focus our attention on what we imagine the other person is “doing to us” by how they’re being and a whole preconditioned script begins playing out in our mind as our “perception” of the situation. We glaze over the object reality and what is in fact a neutral event and replace it with a subjective reality of our own making that we imagine to be real. The story we begin running through our mind forms our interpretation of it as an illusion born out of our past conditioning. Anytime we’re “reacting”, we’re instantly overcome with an emotional state that “takes over”, and we begin playing out our “issues” of the past in the present. We replace the current reality with a belief that shapes how we experience it through the story we tell ourselves about it that gives it meaning.

       There’s always a fundamental paradox playing out where we tend to focus all of our attention on the other person or external events and circumstances going on, while simultaneously telling ourselves a story that makes it all about us. Because of this natural tendency we form a belief around the idea that others are deliberately doing things to us that are beyond our control. They “make us” feel the way we do. Then, whatever they say about or to us we take personally and form a belief about ourselves out of the story we tell ourselves about it that explains, describes, and justifies it, and as a result, we use it as the means of shaping ourselves. This is the most natural way we’re shaped by other people without realizing it. We form a belief that others can attack, hurt, traumatize, betray, put us down, and basically control and determine us through their actions. We do this usually without ever realizing that this is actually something that we’re doing to ourselves in response to them.

Looking at the Nature of Reactive Behaviors

        All reactive behaviors come from an emotional trigger of some kind that instantly transforms us to an unconscious state where we begin acting out and creating the reality of our “issues”. It’s our conditioned behavior and model of the world that forms our perceptual lens and gives us an “instant reality” that we use in place of the current reality. As we’re being stimulated somehow, our mind immediately references all memories of the same feelings and emotions, and associates them to the current situation by saying “this is the same as that”. We give the present the same meaning as the past, which produces instant behavior through the story we tell ourselves about it, and act to produce the same type of reality as a result. This is how we continue to repeat the past in the present by playing out the same patterns as behavioral dynamics. Our past experiences give us a kind of preformed template as “instant interpretations” that don’t require us to think about them in order to form new patterns instead.

       We always frame any situation as a means of interpreting it in a way that allows us to continue telling a certain type of story. Our beliefs form perceptual filters that we use as a filtering system for abstracting and only utilizing small portions of information available in any situation, and organize it in whatever way we need to in order to continue playing out the reality of our beliefs. If someone points it out to us, we usually respond by explaining it in a way that justifies our right to feel that way. We’ll literally argue and defend our right to feel the way we do because we create it in a way that feels very real to us. We don’t realize that we’re actually making it up and creating it through our ability to perceive it.

How to Transform our Experiences

        All transformation and growth is something only we can do to ourselves and comes by way of self-awareness that allow us to see our own tendencies as a form of delusion and work through them to produce new types of experiences. We give our true power away to others by allowing them to control us, or we try to use our power inappropriately by trying to change the other person or situation instead of ourselves. We think that by changing the outer circumstances we’ll change our inner feelings about it. We imagine that in order to be alright we have to change the world around us that’s “making us” feel that way. We become heavily invested in trying to change other people’s perception, attitudes, and behaviors so that we don’t have to change our own, yet, in truth, we only have the power to change our own. So we approach and attempt to solve one delusion by creating another one designed to remedy it.

       We only step into our true power as a creative being when we begin turning our attention inward and self-reflect as the means of recognizing how it is that we’re always acting on ourselves to create all of our own experiences. We can realize that every situation that “triggers us” somehow is also providing us with an opportunity to become self-aware in the present moment where we can actually change it. We can begin this process by simply observing ourselves as the means of realizing how it is that we create our own internal state as our reaction to something. No one is causing us to react (unless we remain unconscious), but we’re the one that’s actually creating our reaction as an internal process. We can only work with what operates in our life at the unconscious level by forming awareness around it. It’s through the awareness that we can see the actual process taking place, realize how and why we’re doing it, and then act to modify it consciously.

Self-Reflection and Awareness

       It’s probably advisable to begin this process of transformation in situations where you’re only being mildly triggered so self-control is relatively easy, and practice faithfully until you get good at it and it starts becoming automatic. Then work your way up to more difficult ones. All change is produced in baby steps that are consistently taken. As you realize you’ve been triggered into what is normally a reactive state, refrain from reacting and instead turn your full attention inward. Notice where in your body you’re feeling the stimulus, what sensation it’s giving you, and what emotion it’s acting to invoke in you. As you concentrate on the feeling, relinquish all need to try and control what’s happening, and simply give yourself fully to the feeling inside of you allowing it to take on a life of its own. As it begins playing out, notice what it seems to be about, and what it’s showing you about yourself. What past experience are you naturally associating with it in order to give it meaning of some kind. The meaning you give it is what acts to shape your story about it which is what forms your experience of it.

       Let your story play out while simply witnessing it from as detached a perspective as you can. Don’t associate to the experience by “being in it, having it”, but rather view it from a dissociated position as if you were another person looking at it from the outside. This moves you from a subjective state to an objective one. We can only see the truth of a situation when we’re not directly experiencing the emotions involved. It’s the emotion that’s associated to the memory itself that acts to initiate the whole process and pulls up the memory in your mind’s eye as the filter used to look through in order to perceive the current situation to be the same as the past. Emotions produce illusions out of memories as a false reality that we use in place of the actual reality of the present moment in order to create the same type of experiences.

       As you begin forming a clear idea around what your reaction is all about, refrain from judging yourself in any way or going into some kind of dialogue that’s designed to explain and justify it. Whatever we argue to defend is ours to keep. This is how we stay locked into delusions of our own making. Then allow yourself to notice that they’re not doing anything “to you” and that you’re actually the one doing it through automatic processes of your own mind. Realize it has nothing to do with you unless you “make it” about you and your past. Allow yourself to realize that you’re creating a state of being upset, insulted, hurt, offended, not being worthy, betrayed, lied to, abandoned or not wanted, and so on. No one is “making you” feel that way, you’re actually the one doing it to yourself by the memories you’re using as the means of interpreting it to mean something. Nothing has meaning in and of itself outside of the one we give it.

       All you need to do in order to break a pattern as an unconscious tendency is to become intuitively aware of it. The only reason ideas of our past continue to be played out in the present as the means of creating our experiences is because they’re operating without our direct awareness. Reactive behaviors literally keep us in an unconscious state. By becoming aware of what you’re doing to actually produce the reaction, is all it takes to loosen its grip. The emotional trigger that produced the reaction begins subsiding and fading to the point where you can easily control it, and it eventually subsides altogether. Once you’re able to remain calm and stay fully conscious, and you’re no longer taking it personal or making it about you somehow, you form a different way of looking at it where you can intelligently choose how to respond and interact. In this way, you quit creating your life out of your past conditioning and can begin creating in a more deliberate and intentional manner. As you begin consciously creating your experiences through a calm inner state, you step into your true ability to transform yourself to a new level of being.

Auto-Suggestion and Affirmations – The Secret to Programming your own Subconscious Mind

Auto-suggestion works by way of the same principles that affirmations do as a form of guided meditation or subliminal conditioning. Our Higher Soul acts to operate both the subconscious and conscious aspects of the mind to both self-create and create our perception of the outer world. Like all entities and natural forces in the universe, the mind is dual in nature as masculine (conscious) and feminine (subconscious) aspects of the same thing, and work together in a harmonious way to create itself, others, and the world at large, all of which result from a form of self-perception. The brain, like the mind that operates and creates through it, is also dual in nature, where the conscious aspect of the mind works through the large brain as the cerebrum, which is the grey matter in the front of the head, and the subconscious works through the small brain or cerebellum, also called the reptilian brain, located in the back of the head attached directly to the brain stem and spinal cord. A further division as symmetry takes place through the polar aspects of the brain known as the “right” (feminine) and “left” (masculine) hemispheres, which again, perform different functions in creating a coherent experience of reality. These dual aspects of the brain, like the dual aspects of the mind, act together to create a “whole self” or entity, while playing different roles, speaking different languages, performing different functions, and usually being completely unaware of each other because whenever one is active, the other one is passive. The conscious mind is secretly being run by the subconscious mind which forms our personality, formative conditioning, and habitual states and tendencies, and is what forms the basis for all of our outer perceptions. The conscious mind is what we experience as our normal or “waking” consciousness. When we’re awake we’re aware of our “self” and the outer world, whereas the subconscious is our most basic “being” that produces and regulates all natural biological functions of our body, all automatic and habitual behaviors, perceptions, and tendencies, and is emotionally driven and primarily “instinctual” in nature. The subconscious mind is the primal mind that we share with the animal kingdom and all of Nature, and is what acts to produce and govern the entire material plane through active expression of “memory” of some kind, whether actual or simulated, that provide it with a thematic template or holographic, 3-D blueprint for organizing matter into interactive patterns as dynamic relationships. All natural and automatic behavior, as well as mood, emotional states and fundamental perceptions are produced and maintained by the subconscious in an automatic fashion as the means of creating reality in a consistent and congruent manner. The mind operates out of a “model” as our mental paradigm that serves to create on all levels of the material world simultaneously.

       In order to change any aspect of our material reality, we have to work through this mental model and change ourselves first.  All outer perception is a direct reflection and projection of our inner, self-perception. We use the same model to create and perceive ourselves as we do to create and perceive others and the world in general. So all transformation comes by way of working on ourselves to alter and modify our mental paradigm as our “model of the world”. We do this naturally all the time by readily accepting and taking in information of some kind that’s compatible with our model and by integrating it, use it to evolve and update our model. We’re constantly changing and becoming through what is largely an unconscious and natural process of programming our own mind by how we feel, think, imagine and fantasize, and through the perceptions, emotional states and actions they act together to naturally produce. We are all equipped with the means for self-creating, and while we’re always involved in doing so in an unconscious and automatic way, we can also work by way of this same natural process to deliberately transform, grow, and develop ourselves as the means of intentionally creating ourselves and our experience of life. Our conscious and subconscious minds are designed to work together in a harmonious manner to create a unified self and perception of the outer world, but first we have to learn and work by way of the principles involved.  The mind and body, like all creative forces in the universe, operate according to principles, and in order to create in a conscious and deliberate manner we have to work by way of those same principles. Whenever we fail to recognize the laws working in any situation, and we attempt to work outside of or in contradiction to laws, we only end up working against ourselves by posing one aspect of ourselves against the other as adversaries and opponents. The subconscious exists as the polar, yet complementary opposite of the conscious mind. This means one is produced or exists as the direct reflection of the other. The driving impulse of everything that’s undesirable to us, such as passions, shortcomings, bad traits, and weaknesses of various sorts, has its source in the subconscious. The driving force behind everything we don’t want to do and don’t wish for, lies in the subconscious, and so it’s here that it needs to be transformed. The conscious mind, which is the “I” as the self-aware, thinking, willful and discriminating mind has the ability through reason to “decide” and choose “how it wants to be”, is often directly opposed by and therefore over ruled by the subconscious, whose only directive is to maintain the status quo through a form of “self-preservation” as established and well maintained emotional states, habits, and tendencies.

       The subconscious, when not worked with properly, tends to be ill-disposed towards and acts to contradict and sabotage our conscious decisions and takes control of our will through passions and emotions that keep us doing the very things we don’t want to do, and creating ourselves and our life out of them as a result. Because the subconscious is the aspect of our mind that forms and gives birth to the material world, we have to not only render it harmless in order to achieve our goals, but we have to convince it to help us realize our wishes and partner with the conscious mind as the powerful ally that it is. In order to do this we have to look at what acts as a communication barrier between them, and learn the art of translating conscious goals into the language of the subconscious. The conscious, self-aware, thinking mind, tends to be abstract and objective in nature, and exists fully within “time and space”, where it spends the better part of its time thinking about the past and future, and wastes it’s creative ability replaying memories of some kind over and over as the “means” of creating the same type of things in the present, reinforcing and strengthening them while setting the basis for creating more of the same thing in the future. The conscious mind is easily distracted and engages willingly in meaningless activities as a way of passing time and entertaining itself, and spends most of its time telling itself stories about things as fantasies that are born out of emotional states. It’s easily seduced by the emotional states of the subconscious and dwells endlessly in the mood or state of mind produced by its own illusions, usually without ever realizing that’s what’s actually happening. Thought and emotion are produced by each other, and work together to form all of our memories and fantasies. Memory and emotion are always directly connected and are what serve as the basis for instinct and creating out of an unconscious state where our thoughts are determined and driven by our emotions as primal forces that govern the entire physical plane. This process, being dual and complementary in nature, works both ways, and whatever we dwell in and think about we form an emotional response to, and so we have the ability to actually direct and determine our emotional state through what we focus on and think about. Thought and emotion are always married to each other within the material plane, where one automatically produces and determines the other, and together they produce the “self” and the material reality of self-perception as their offspring. All creation and transformation involves bringing these two aspects into harmony with each other as a unified and coherent idea.

       The subconscious mind is the “unconscious” aspect of the mind in the sense that it fully operates to produce all instinctual, natural, and automatic activities and behaviors without our direct awareness or needing to think about them. It exists outside of time and space, and is always fully present and active in every moment. It never rests like the conscious mind, and even while the conscious mind sleeps it runs all of our biological processes and continues to produce reality through our dream states. It’s our “body consciousness” and is active and operating from the moment of conception to the moment of death. It’s emotionally driven through impulses, and communicates emotionally with everything around it, and while lacking a “will” like the conscious mind, operates and creates reality based on memory of some form. It’s creative in nature in terms of producing the entire material reality of the body, personality, natural behaviors, and the outer reality of perception, all of which are connected by and share in the same subconscious mind as the “collective unconscious”, yet lacks innovation, individuality, and being able to create something new and unique that it doesn’t have a model, pattern, or memory for. All transformation and change in the material sense requires time and space in order to be produced and realized, because all newness is produced as an alteration of what already exists and evolves naturally out of an existing idea. If we set a goal for achieving something as a “future event”, something we’re “going to do”, or are “trying to do”, we program the subconscious mind with the idea of “going to” or “trying to”, and it creates the constant experience of trying without achieving. It’ll place constant obstacle directly or indirectly in our path as a form of self-sabotage or simply as the means of maintaining what has already been established. The subconscious, if not directed and given a pattern for what to create as a current reality and direct experience (without the passing of time), will nearly always succeed in overcoming us and causing us to fail, especially when willpower is under developed and weak, or we allow our emotional states to dictate what we focus on and think about. The conscious, willful mind has the ability to impregnate the subconscious mind with a wish or goal that it will then use to systematically produce a material reality, but it has to deliver it through the shared medium of the imagination as an actual or already present experience by withdrawing the notion of time and space, and creating it as a form of virtual simulation or memory. The subconscious mind, which needs to be given the pattern (seed) for creating a material reality, doesn’t know the difference between an actual memory and an imagined one, because they’re both produced by the same means through the faculty of the imagination. Even actual experiences are turned into memories and “replayed” over and over “through” the imagination, which is what keeps the past alive in the present forming a consistent experience of reality. We have to create our wish as if it’s already real and happening in the present moment as a full sensory experience. When we seed the subconscious with a memory of the reality we want it to produce, we coordinate and align the two minds with the same idea. The subconscious produces it and the conscious mind perceives it.

       Auto-suggestion is a very basic “self-programming process” for modifying our mental paradigm through the incorporation of new information as an experience that becomes a part of its structural memory. The only way we ever “learn and grow” (evolve) is through experience of some kind that forms the memory as the perceptual programs that make up our infrastructure. We set a goal as a wish or desire for creating as an idea stated in the present tense, and then imagine it repeatedly and intensely in sensory terms as an actual experience of it. All memory, whether considered actual or self-produced, is created in the faculty of the imagination, where it’s then replayed as a means of providing the means for creating a consistent version of reality. The subconscious is thematic, allegorical, and metaphorical in nature, which means it’ll take an imaginary experience of reality and use it as an “archetypal idea” and create it in many different ways and on several different scales and levels simultaneously. It doesn’t need exact instructions or the actual situation in terms of details and absolutes, but only the symbolic idea of it as a theme, that it will then use to create more of the same type of experiences based on whatever environment, circumstances, or situations it’s operating in or based on what’s available as elements for creating the same type of idea in its immediate environment. Formulating your Suggestion / Affirmation Understanding the nature and relationship between the conscious and subconscious mind gives us distinct clues for how to structure the words or phrase used for the suggestion. The suggestion must always be present tense and spoken as a form of command, directive, or order (willfully as if it’s a fact). They must be stated as “I am” and NOT as “I will”. Nowhere in the statement do you ever involve what you “don’t want”. The subconscious doesn’t know how to process negatives and doesn’t operate by being told what “not to do”, but rather by being told what to do as a picture in the mind’s eye, because it speaks the language of images and symbols and creates whatever it imagines. The words spoken serve to form the image or reality in the imagination as the meaning of the words. All wishes can only be for yourself and developing your character, and can’t involve other people or anything that’s outside of your control or that will require the will of others in order to accomplish. They should always involve a form of self-creation and provide the means for developing your own character or transform bad habits and tendencies or negative traits into positive and beneficial ones. You should start by identifying what you want to eliminate or change, and what it is you want to produce in their place. All change is really transformation of one idea into another one. Whatever idea you have a desire to create must be “believable” and not too far out of range from where you’re currently at. Drastic changes hardly ever come about in a natural and gradual way. All changes should be undertaken through a gradual step-by-step process as a logical progression rather than a giant leap from one extreme to another. These rules must be adhered to at all times in order to achieve success. As you speak the wish in an authoritative manner to yourself, you picture it in your mind as an actual reality. You shape it and present it to yourself as if it’s real and you’re “in” the experience of it. You create a feeling and experience of yourself “being that way” by enhancing the sensory nature of it to create it as if it’s actually happening, and elicit the emotional state that’s a natural correspondence to it. Create it in your mind’s eye in a way that produces very positive and compelling emotions. Run this through your mind several times as you repeat the affirmation, until you get it just the way you want to experience it, then replay the perfected version several times in order to stabilize it as an actual memory that can be recalled at will.

Building it into the Muscle Because the subconscious mind creates by way of repeating memories as thematic patterns over and over in a consistent and routine way, we have to replay our imagined, emotionally intense wish repeatedly over a period of time until it becomes automatic as a normal way of being. All habits require a time-frame of consistent replication in order to become permanent as a natural way of being and perceiving. The same principle is true for transforming habits. The number of times required and duration of imagining is 40 times per session. Four is the number of material reality that naturally progresses from three, which is the number of the creative imagination. This is why all processes that work to transform habits of any kind is 6 weeks (42 days) in duration, and why 21 days (past the half way mark) is the time required to establish one idea or routine in place of another. Anything practiced for 21 days becomes easy to do, and once practiced for 40 days becomes established as a new habit and we do it automatically through natural behaviors where intention, willpower and effort are no longer required. An easy method of counting the number of times you’re repeating your affirmations without being distracted by having to think about it, is to create a string of 40 beads, or tie 40 knots in string, then, as you repeat it, count using the beads by moving from one to the next. Once you’ve repeated it to yourself 40 times while imagining it, you can consider a single session complete. You want to practice affirmations two to three times a day for 40 days, after which time your wish should be accomplished. Concentrate all of your effort on only one affirmation at a time and don’t move on to the next until you’ve accomplished it. The key to “mind over matter” is concentration without distraction or spreading yourself to thin by scattering and dispersing intentions.

Best Time of Day for Auto-Suggestion There are two times of the day when we are in a natural hypnotic state of having both the conscious and subconscious active at the same time as a transition from a waking to sleeping state, and that’s when we fall asleep at night, and when we wake first thing in the morning. Do this exercise right before falling asleep in a soft whisper or simply in your thoughts. Every time you repeat, move your fingers to another bead, until you’ve repeated it 40 times. As you say or think the idea, imagine or visualize it as if your wish has already become a reality. Create it in your mind in such a way that you’re thoroughly convinced and believe it. If you reach the end of your beads and you’re still not tired, continue thinking about it into your sleeping state. The object is to take the idea with you from your waking state to your sleeping state, then in the morning from your dream state to your waking state, impregnating the subconscious and coordinating the two states to the fulfillment of the same idea. If you fall asleep before reaching the end of your beads, the purpose will still be achieved. If you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep, repeat the suggestions until you fall asleep. Any idea that we’re thinking about as we fall asleep, we program our subconscious mind with.

What Type of Wishes can be Fulfilled It’s very important to realize which wishes can be realized and which ones can’t. At no point should we attempt to exercise or project our will onto others in an attempt to change or control them somehow. Only the wishes that concern the spirit, soul, and body of the individual can be realized. Ones that involve ennobling the character, transforming negative traits to positive ones, combating weaknesses, bringing dis-harmonies back into balance, attaining good health, activating and developing latent potential and abilities, transforming bad habits, and so on. Wishes that have nothing to do with one’s personality, that involve others to fulfill, those which are designed for acquiring material possessions, or producing group events, can’t be realized. The higher soul, which is the creative aspect that governs only itself in the lower regions of the material plane only goal and true ability, is to “create itself”, and as a result create its experience of reality. As we change, others and the world around us changes accordingly through our perception of them. Process as a Practice:
  • Decide what you want to transform about yourself, and what it is you want to create in its place.
  • State it in positive terms as “what you want”, and not as what you don’t want.
  • Structure the phrase as a command, directive, or order that’s “authoritative and firm”, much like a parent, yet friendly and compassionate.
  • State it in present tense as if it’s already real and happening – “I am feeling better and better every day”, “I am healthy”, “I am confident and self-assured”, “I am a non-smoker”, and so on.
  • As you say it to yourself, form it in your imagination as if it’s already real and true as an “experience” of it.
  • Enhance and intensify it in sensory terms – what are you seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, smelling, and telling yourself about it?
  • Create it in a way that invokes positive emotions in response to it that are very compelling in nature.
  • Repeat your affirmation at least 40 times each time you practice while counting with beads or knots so you won’t be distracted by having to think about it.
  • Practice at least twice a day, preferably before going to sleep and immediately after waking up.
  • Practice the same affirmation repeatedly for 40 days.
  • Only work on one affirmation at a time and stay with it until it’s achieved in a satisfactory manner before moving on to the next one.

Energetic Imprinting, Conditioning, and Dynamics – Liberating your Soul from the Unconscious Tendencies that Bind You

Our soul is comprised of essence as memory that comes from the relationship it forms with the body, which resides in a predominately unconscious state, and how they work together to create experiences of reality. The subconscious mind of the body also runs off of memory which it uses to form repetitive and habitual patterns that produce a consistent and congruent version of reality. What we call “reality” is produced as both an inner imagining and the outer complementary correspondence of what’s imagined internally. The subconscious is passive and receptive in nature, meaning it has no will or ability to discriminate and make decisions of its own based on reasoning, and simply takes in ideas from the active, willful mind as suggestions that it forms into thoughts as a sensory reality in the faculty of the imagination, which is where all reality as an outer projection is born and fabricated out of essence (astral light or photons).

The soul bonds to the body through the memory inherent in its DNA, which is of a similar and compatible nature, capable of providing the soul with the corresponding reality of its memories so it can continue fashioning itself by way of the experiences the reality provides. The memory, as the essence of the soul resonates with the ancestral memory of the body, and enters into it as an active force that animates and structures it, giving it life as the ideal home or material vehicle for the soul. All levels of consciousness exist on a hierarchical plane, where the lower is always subordinate (passive) to the higher one (active), and provides the form or shell for the higher force to inhabit, bringing it into an active state of expression and creation within the material realm. This hierarchy of consciousness exists as spherical fields nested within greater and smaller fields, all of which vibrate within the same frequency as a range of vibration and lend themselves to the creation of the same type of nature and level of reality.

This level of consciousness that acts to naturally produce and actively play a role in a common (shared) reality forms a whole or singular dimension that’s structured by a dynamic interweaving of an infinite number of vibrations, all with a common core of information that act as their building blocks. All reality in this sense exists within an even greater reality as a unified dimension, where unique formulas of common elements are shaped by the individual mind to form an original version as a variation or possibility. The archetypal world of pure consciousness exists as archetypes in their potential state as what we might call generic templates. Archetypes manifest by undergoing a process of adaptation and reformulation that modify and reshape them into a new form that’s still indigenous to the greater, shared reality in which they’re birthed, maintained, and used to express at the individual level of self-creation.

        As the soul resonates and bonds with the body, forming coherence as a harmonious vibration that creates in a spontaneous manner, it acts first to reform and establish the psychological patterns of its memory as a predisposition, temperament, general attitude, and tendencies that make up its personality, then those same patterns as dynamics are played out through its conditioning, because the memories of the parents are of the same nature and dynamics of the soul, as a form of “group memory” (soul groups). As these dynamics continue to play out and we have a role in them, we’re further trained and conditioned to those dynamics as behavioral patterns that have a theme as a story-line inherent in them.

In an attempt to make sense of the events of our life and the dynamics that we’re actively a part of creating, we begin telling ourselves a story about them. This story makes them mean something, and it’s the meaning as a story-line that we become imprinted with as a dominate and habitual tendency. This means we readily perceive it and participate in it in an unconscious manner without any direct awareness or realization of what we’re doing and why. We don’t realize that all of our experiences are subjective in nature, meaning we’re the ones that are creating them by how we interpret events of our life to give them meaning, and so we imagine that life is happening “to us” in an objective manner and we have no control or say so about it. Yet, though we can’t control the events of our life (necessarily), we absolutely have full control over how we choose to experience them.

What we call reality comes as a cohesive series of events that take place outside of and around us, and how we “experience” those events, while they may seem like two separate ideas, are in fact correlated correspondences of each other. The outer, objective, abstract, and neutral reality that’s common to all of us as a form of shared or mass consciousness provides the stage and the means for organizing it in such a way that we experience it in a consistent manner through the story we’re always in the process of telling ourselves about it. This story as an interpretation makes it into a personalized version of reality as our own creation that we’re then subject to (it determines us).

        We reshape our outer reality based on personal feelings, tastes, and beliefs. We view it through the paradigm of our mind (soul memory) and we reformulate it through our emotional state to match it. We reshape it to be of the same nature as we are where it lends itself in a complementary manner to naturally tell our story about it. As we create our experiences of things, we simultaneously get a sense of ourselves through those experiences, identifying with our own creation, and shaping ourselves through the memory it provides that becomes a part of both the subconscious mind of the body and our soul’s essence. We’re constantly forming and in-forming ourselves through the experience of our own creation, by taking what exists as a “universal idea” and using it as a thematic template for creating a “personal version”.

Our formative conditioned patterns are established through the “theme” as a life dynamic that’s being played out all around us that we play a role in and are an inherent part of. While we play a certain role in a greater dynamic as a child, we are in fact “imprinted” (unconsciously programmed) with the “whole dynamic” and every role that’s required in order to act it out. Whatever role we’re not actively playing in the dynamic is being demonstrated for us by others, and we actively engage in it through our relationship with the greater whole and our constant interaction and participation in it. These dynamics are created in several areas of our life at the same time, based on the same general theme being played out in different ways through different types of relationships. How we’re treated as a child in a situation, is of the “same nature” (behavioral dynamic) as how our parents treated each other, our siblings, relatives, and all other relationships they maintained and participated in, where only the roles they actively played changed.

The relationship between our parents (or guardians) that’s being openly demonstrated and modeled for us in the normal sense, becomes the same “relationship dynamic” we play out in some form or another in our adult romantic relationships. As a general rule, we typically become one of our parents and marry the other one. Whichever parent we identify with most and align with in terms of playing the same role, we play most often, yet we unconsciously play all roles in the dynamic as a general theme. For example, if one parent is always criticizing the other one, putting them down and sarcastically belittling them somehow, and the one being criticized responds with a particular behavior (lashing out, retaliating, equally belittling, being hurt, crying, outraged, angry, or running away, etc.), that same parent will have a tendency to treat the children the same way as a general rule, and they’ll respond in a like manner to how the other parent responded (according to what’s being modeled for them to imitate). Whatever we witness going on around us is being modeled for us, and as children we tend to learn by imitating whatever’s being demonstrated for us as a relationship and means of “appropriately” responding. The same “pattern” as an overall theme is being played out in a variety of ways with every relationship within the family, based on the theme both parents share in common and the behavioral dynamic that naturally issues forth from it.

        If we’re used to being criticized as children, we’re attracted to (naturally respond) and seek out relationships of various kinds where that same dynamic is shared and can be played out faithfully in a natural and automatic fashion. We initiate and provoke the pattern, regardless of what role we play just through the nature of our interaction. For this reason, because it’s unconscious, we often have no idea we’re doing it, and so we imagine we’re innocent and once again it’s being done to us, instead of realizing that we’re the perpetrator. If we’re used to being criticized, we have a tendency to also criticize others (though we may view it different), and naturally produce the behavior that warrants criticism. We can do this intentionally through a reaction to being criticized ourselves, or as a way of retaliating and getting even by switching roles. Even when we respond by turning inward, crying and becoming meek, we’re lashing out in our thoughts and criticizing or despising them to the same degree or more that we feel criticized. Yet often, when we’re doing the criticizing, we don’t see it that way, but rather as just giving them back their own medicine or giving them “constructive feedback”. We feel justified to respond in a like manner, usually without gaining any recognition whatsoever of the overall pattern that’s being played out at the unconscious level.

When something exists in us at the unconscious level, which all of our automatic, habitual behaviors do, they serve to form the very basis of our perception, our emotional states, and what memories we use to interpret things to give them meaning through the story we tell ourselves about it that describes, explains, or justifies it, forming how we experience it. Because they’re a normal and cohesive part of our perception and way of experiencing reality, we believe they’re real in the objective sense and we have no ability to change them, because we don’t realize that we’re actively participating in creating them. We don’t know how to see something different because we’ve perceived things that way our whole life and it comes natural to us. The experience is spontaneous and comes in a natural and automatic fashion without any awareness of choice or will being involved.

So the first challenge is to be able to become aware of our own tendencies by recognizing the behavioral dynamics as a theme that we’re playing a natural part in that’s of the same dynamic that we grew up with. This can often come with us realizing we’re having a tendency to say the same thing and act in the same manner as our parents did. By developing our ability to self-reflect and focus on our own feelings and motivation, instead of always focusing on the other person, while recognizing what memories are being triggered through association that are of the same nature, we can begin realizing what exists in us as a tendency that we’re either unaware of, or only partially aware of. We have a natural tendency to always focus on the “other person” by thinking almost exclusively about how they’re being and what they’re doing “to us”, then our whole approach becomes how to “change them” so they’ll stop doing it. Yet even if they were to stop doing it, we would act out in an unconscious fashion to provoke it in them as a way of keeping the pattern going because we don’t know how to play a part in another type of relationship.

       This is because we’re not only conditioned with one role or position in a pattern or idea, but with the “whole pattern” and behavioral dynamic of which we can play every role, whether through an aware state or an unaware one, because every role in that dynamic was constantly being modeled for us, and we were either the one doing it or watching it be done. Whatever role we identified most strongly with we continue playing out with awareness, and whichever one we didn’t, we continue playing out unconsciously. Because we build our identity out of the experiences this dynamic provides, we not only keep it going in an automatic fashion, but when we get into situations where it’s not being cooperatively played out, we don’t know how to act or what to do, and so we unconsciously initiate it and provoke the proper reaction in others that sets it into motion. Once it’s set into motion and begins playing out, we’re in our element, and we have an automatic “script” where we know exactly how to be, what to say, and what to do.

When we live our life out of perceptions of our conditioning, we live from a primarily unconscious state that simply acts to repeat patterns as themes (karma) in every area of our life, over and over. This habitual state of mind forms the “life dynamic” that produces the experiences that become our soul’s memory as our essence, character, and constitution. Our soul is developed through accumulated memory attained through the body and how it identifies with it. The more of a certain type of memory we accumulate, the stronger and more stable the pattern becomes, trapping the soul at an unconscious level where it often fails to realize it has the ability to become consciously aware of unconscious tendencies, and through that awareness, dissolve the pattern, freeing itself to create in new ways by making new decisions that produce brand new experiences.

       The soul not only possesses the higher capacity of consciousness necessary for self-creating, but it also exists in polarity to higher planes of consciousness, where it acts as a medium between the upper and lower regions, and serves as the passive aspect of the active higher will, which is capable of impregnating it just as it’s capable of impregnating the imagination of the subconscious mind with an idea that it turns into a material reality. Habitual patterns only continue to play out when we’re unaware of them. By utilizing the witnessing capacity of the soul to realize the unconscious patterns being played out, they no longer take place in an automatic fashion, because our very perception changes through the awareness, and if we begin engaging in the same tendencies, we catch ourselves and realize what we’re doing and why. We can learn how to realize our own part in things by dissociating from our experiences (not “in them” having them from an internal perspective) and viewing them instead from a detached and objective state. When we view our life from a second or third person perspective, we view the events from a distance (as another person would) and see ourselves not as the main character in our movie, but simply as one character in a greater story, and we can see ourselves in a different light as simply playing a role in acting out a common story.

Once we become aware and fully conscious in our life, no longer reactive and bound to habitual mindsets, we’re free of them and have the ability to make conscious decisions instead. Through our ability to choose who and how we’re going to be, what qualities we’re going to take on and express through, we begin creating ourselves in a more novel and unique manner. In this way we break free of the karma as unconscious states that dominate and bind us to a mindless process of creation, and we become fully empowered in our own life. The minute we decide to stop doing one thing as a natural response and role, we have to decide how we’re going to be and what we’re going to do instead. All habits are dissolved and transformed through awareness, choice, and replacing them with new patterns that create in a more intentional manner through a fully awake state.

Spiritual DNA, the Soul’s Code, and the Subconscious Mind

 

As humans we have what we can think of as a three-fold nature as three minds operating in one body, which merely acts as the vehicle or instrument of the mind, which not only serves to operate the body, but is also what constructs it and gives it life. The three minds exist on multiple planes and correlate with three-dimensional reality of what we call the material world. The three minds, known as the higher or super-conscious, the lower or subconscious, and the conscious or self-conscious  minds, exist as a single unit or unified field as a vibratory frequency that has dual electromagnetic properties that are self-creating, self-perpetuating, and self-sustaining. The higher mind contains the two lower minds as inherent aspects of its dual nature, that all systematically emerge out of each other as a form of division that’s actually a form of regeneration, or in other words, one aspect births the other aspects as a form of growth process that undergoes a life cycle within the lower material realm.

The higher mind, which exists entirely on a higher parallel dimension in its whole state, descends into the lower material realm through a form of division, much like cellular mitosis which regenerates itself as a growth process while taking on specialized functions within a whole living organism. The higher mind or over-soul impregnates a living cell (embryo) with a form of blueprint as an etheric hologram that’s used for cellular specialization and spatial orientation in constructing the whole organism. This etheric holographic map serves to systematically organize the cellular growth of the living organism that is imbued with the same qualities and characteristics of the parents (higher mind-soul) that acted to create it by infusing an energetic code with Life-Force Energy, multiplying it and growing it out of nothing, through a process of self-regeneration.

The energetic code of the higher mind is a form of spiritual DNA as the soul’s code, and operates according to the same principles as the physical DNA, and together form a vehicle that’s of the same vibratory frequency or nature as the “soul-mind” that inhabits it through resonance and coherence. The soul attracts to and serves to give life to the body that’s of the same frequency, through a form of DNA match that’s comprised of various sorts of memory, which are compatible and ideally suited for each other. Just as our physical DNA has the memory and genetic code to structure the body, giving it distinct characteristics and tendencies, and carrying the memories of the ancestral bloodline, the soul is structured and comprised of memory from multiple lifetimes which are compatible to the ancestral memory of the body, and together, form a complementary and congruent experience of life as the “self”. All of life comes as a result of combinations, which through a process of natural selection (resonance) as dominant and recessive aspects of the same shared characteristics, form a new pattern or formula as a unique combination, which births a new variation, evolving it based on the expression of newly acquired characteristics and tendencies as temperament and disposition.

The higher mind is born into the lower, animal body as the subconscious mind, which contains the self-conscious mind as latent potential and gives birth to it as its offspring through a natural growth and development process. The subconscious mind, which is the aspect of the mind that we share with the animal and plant kingdom (living organisms), operate all the biological processes of our body in an automated and natural fashion, requiring no awareness on our part, and is what gives us our personality as our natural disposition, temperament, tendencies, and style of behaviors. The subconscious mind is passive and receptive in nature, and acts like a sponge to only absorb and imitate what’s around it. All of the formative conditioning which comes through the parents, living situation and conditions, and behavioral dynamics that it’s a functional part of, all serve to activate and bring out certain traits that are apart of both the ancestral memory and the soul memory, and together acts to set the stage for continued development and expression of the active components, while other memory remains dormant as latent potential that’s available to be activated and brought into expression through proper stimulus.

The self-conscious mind is birthed out of our subconscious mind around the age of seven or eight, and becomes predominantly active during adolescence. It’s during this time that we begin separating from our parents and forming our personal identity. Our “identity” (ego) is formed through our ability to begin thinking for ourselves, problem solving, making decisions, and forming an “image” of ourselves that create the experiences that we then use to self-create by how we identify or get a sense of ourselves within our own self-made experiences. The self-conscious mind is fully active and established around the age of twenty eight. We basically develop in four seven year increments, with the first two, birth through 14, establishing our subconscious formative conditioning where we create without any direct awareness as an extension of our family and environment, and 14 to 28, establishing our self-conscious, self-aware mind that’s fully identified with the body (subconscious) that birthed it. The self-conscious mind is imbued with choice and free will in order to actively separate from their parents and become their own person as an individual.

The self-conscious mind which establishes our identification as our body, social status, and lifestyle, is what’s commonly referred to as the ego. Yet ego and identity are actually the same thing, and in spiritual texts, the term ego is often used in place of identity. What, how, and who we become in life, is all about what and who we identify with or resonate and feel a connection to. The people we like and associate with, what type of experiences we create through the choices we make and the reality of those choices that we then “sense ourselves” through, is what forms the basis for the story we begin telling ourselves “about” ourselves that act to shape us as a certain type of person. We’re attracted to and naturally participate not only in certain types of situations and dramas, but also to certain roles within those situations and dramas.

As we become adults we establish our identity as a lifestyle that’s built out of all the components and conditioning that went into making us who we are, all of which originated and became established through predominantly unconscious means. Even when we develop our conscious mind and start becoming self-aware, our subconscious mind and conditioned tendencies are what formed our mental paradigm, perceptual lens, and the thematic story we used as the means of interpreting the events of our life to give them meaning and significance. So all of what we call “self-awareness” originated from our unconscious mind as natural tendencies and perceptual-behavioral patterns that we were already programmed with and continued expressing as a means of creating ourselves. All of our perceptions serve to validate us by justifying whatever it is we need in order to maintain our perspective on things, and to validate, defend and keep telling our story about things. Our story about our life, what happened to us that made us the way we are, about the way people are, and the way the world is, becomes the reality we use as a belief system to create a consistent and congruent experience of life that makes sense to us, and is how we “act on ourselves”, through our own mental perception to create ourselves.

The mind’s tendency to believe in its own illusions as the story born out of its conditioning as a trained mind-set that only utilized certain qualities and characteristics, while others remained latent, and forming their whole sense of self out of this body, these conditions, circumstances, and certain types of situations, is what forms a selective perception from a specific perspective as a self-imposed delusion that never recognizes that their true identity is as the creator of that story and not the effect of the story. When we mistakenly identify with our material circumstances and possessions, we create ourselves as mortal beings whose “self” dies with the body and is annihilated. This identification with the physical body simultaneously creates a fear of death and the tendency to desperately cling to life, without which, we would cease to exist.

The awakening, which forms the basis for rebirth, comes when we are finally able to realize in very clear terms, that we are not the product of our story, helpless to change it, and subject to it, but rather the one creating the story, and creating our “sense of self” by way of our own story about things. Once we become aware of this, we begin simultaneously realizing that we don’t have to tell this story as a means of creating ourselves in life, but we are free to tell whatever story we possess the latent and natural traits, talents, and characteristics for. We can realize the true reality of things, and by experiencing our ability to choose and willfully act out our choices, we can activate our latent potential, and by bringing it out and learning to express it by deliberately employing those aspects and abilities, learn how to tell a new type of story. A story that puts us in control as the author and choreographer of our story, and the main character. We can become whoever we want to be, if we simply realize this and are willing to give up our story about things, which means losing our identity for the brief time it takes to begin reforming it.

We’re all born with a dream for our life that lives inside of us and is known through our desire for it and imagining it as a form of soul memory. Our soul comes into life through the body with an intention for growth of some form, which only comes through utilizing our full potential for creating a certain type of experience through the story that we’re naturally designed to tell. First inwardly, by imagining and dreaming of it, then outwardly through taking action on it and willfully acting it out. All that’s required for actual growth and deliberate self-creation, is our willingness to give up and let go of our current story about things and about our life. Realizing that the only reason we’re attached to our story and don’t want to give it up, or feel that we can’t, is because we’ve built our identity out of it, and in giving it up, we won’t know “who we are”, which can overwhelm us with an extremely insecure and unsure feeling.

Our awakening as our second birth, comes as an identity crisis where whatever we’ve built our life around begins disintegrating, falling apart, no longer working, and going away, leaving us with a kind of “clean slate” to build ourselves anew. In order to build a different structure, you can’t use the same foundation or footprint. You have to completely destroy, tear down, and rework the ground that the new one is going to be built on. You have to have a completely different set of blueprints. This is why very few people actually engage in the true process of transformation and spiritual awakening, because it means completely giving up life as you know it, for an idea that’s largely unknown, obscure, and somewhat frightening. We fear change because we imagine the change is going to be worse instead of better, and we don’t have faith in our ability to actually pull it off. We’re so attached to our material existence that we can’t imagine life without it. Yet, what we often fail to realize is that all of our pain and suffering come from our attachments and addictions to whatever it is that causes us as divine beings to become associated to a mortal existence. Our belief in our mortality forms a tomb as a prison for the soul, inhibiting it from higher forms of expression as the creator of our life story, and who we truly are apart from our material body, possessions, roles and status, and our life circumstances. To shed the ego means to dissolve the “false ego”. To quit forming our identity out of our physical existence, and begin instead identifying and forming a love for the spiritual realm, our higher self, and sensing ourselves out of our divine spiritual soul instead.

Whatever we identify with, we bond ourselves to. By identifying with our material existence, we remain connected and attached to being incarnated in a material body, and we render ourselves (through choice) mortal and temporary in nature, with our “sense of self” dying with our body, instead of as immortal souls who live beyond the body in the true realm of the soul, which is purely spiritual, uninhibited, and eternal in nature. Those who remain identified with and only knowing themselves through their body, dies a thousand deaths, and remains a mortal being within the material realm of pain and suffering, a fate that’s willfully self-determined and a life sentence that’s self-imposed and regulated.

Interference Patterns Create Reality – Relationship and the Transformative Ability of Complementary Frequencies

 By understanding the primary substance and structure of all reality as photons or light that possess the qualities of both a particle and a wave, yet exists primarily in wave-form, only shape shifting into a particle when being measured (observed) “as” something specific (stabilized into a specific configuration by a matrix of other fully interacting interference patterns), and therefore taking on a specific material appearance, we can understand how light of various forms is always interacting with the same frequency in everything else, and transforming itself through the relationship it forms with it as an interference pattern of a unique nature. By building a conceptual model of this idea in our mind, we can gain a working understanding of it, which is what is needed in order to utilize the knowledge that it contains, and use that knowledge in a deliberate manner to self-create.

What this idea basically shows us, is that light (the substance of matter) exists as waves of different frequencies that are all interacting with each other through a dynamic matrix of relationships based on angles, degrees, and proportions. A wave-form can be thought of as a frequency or range of vibration that has indigenous patterning inherent in it as a form of “theme”. All the potential realities of that theme are contained within it as in a purely “potential state”, which means “unformed” or uncreated (in the material sense). One potential as a possibility, is “selected” by the relationship it forms with another mind or energy field of the same frequency (theme) that “collapses” the wave (an infinite number of possibility) into “one” as the complementary match to the mind interacting with it. All (material) reality only exists through a relationship of two interacting fields that together create a new combination as a congruent version of a universal reality. The universal exists as all possibilities within a given idea as a theme, and the personalized version emerges through a very basic form of “choice and will” as an interaction of the individual consciousness with the universal, forming a subjective reality that expresses the same theme in a unique fashion as a personal creation. Here, I’m going to keep it simple in order to establish a basic idea that’s necessary in order to set-up the basic law as an idea that will allow the process of personal realization to take place as a means of developing it through your own understanding, rather than from somebody else’s description that you accept as fact without an intuitive cognition.

The light of the universe as we currently know it, correlates with the musical scale, where frequencies exist in a hierarchical structure as a scale that are formed out of the same basic tones that moves through a series of progressions from a lower vibration to a higher one, all within the same scale as a range of vibration or frequency. Starting at the lower end and moving up the scale, it builds on itself as an accumulative process of absorption, synthesis and coherence. All the notes of one scale (7 primary) as an accumulative building effect or summation, form the tone (vibration) that becomes the first note in the next higher scale. So the first note of any scale, is both the beginning (new) and the end (total of the previous). The entire summation of the previous begins the building process of the next procession. Notes, as frequencies in the lower half of the scale can only resonate with the higher notes of the scale that preceded it, and can’t fully resonate with the higher notes within the same scale, until it undergoes a progressive process of resonating, absorbing and integrating with the slightly higher vibration within its range (2 to 3 notes), because the gap is to great, and it acts instead to repel it, or fails to be able to conceive of it. You have to get over half way (3.5 or 4) through the scale (7) in order to begin vibrating with the next higher scale (phi relationship of halves and doubles). So one frequency is only capable of resonating (harmonizing) with the frequencies that it’s comprised of and contains within its own vibratory structure, or the ones that are within close range of it that once comprehended “raise its vibration” or increases its ability to perceive higher ideas. The mind as an energy field can’t form harmony with ones that are too far away or of a significantly different structure as a mental model or paradigm.

Light of a certain frequency exists everywhere at once (through the larger unified field) in its wave form, and is omnipresent and omnipotent. As it propagates through space and time, it interferes with itself (same frequency) in everything else. As it interferes (effects and reshapes) through a relationship it forms with itself (same frequency) in another (unique aspect of that frequency), based on the differences in where it’s at on the shared scale, it matches and reinforces some qualities and aspects, while contrasting and canceling out other aspects. Through varying degrees and angles it acts on another with the same frequency to transform it through a natural reformulation of qualities that reform its characteristics, by activating and amplifying some, while deactivating and returning to a latent state other qualities. So it acts to reconfigure what’s being expressed and what’s not, within the already existing nature of a person or thing. Because the interaction is of a subtle nature (energetic) and largely unconscious in nature, and only works through already existing qualities and characteristics, the change comes about in what seems like a totally natural way. Totally natural means without direct awareness, because it’s “in us” to be that way, and so we don’t necessarily realize that we’re being manipulated and our mind modified by an interfering mind or force.

So the interaction that’s going on all the time as the energetic frequencies of a subtle nature, are constantly acting on us at the subconscious level to grow and transform us through natural means. Light, as photons, which is the primal substance of what we call matter, exists naturally as a wave, which permeates the entire fabric of space or the ether, and is not affected or diminished by distance or the illusion of separation as individual beings or particles. Because of this unifying existence of wave-forms as vibratory frequencies that make up the fabric of life, we are effected, and ultimately being shaped and reformed by the influence of light that exists throughout the universe, not just within the Earth-plane. This means that light traveling from (what seems like) distant stars are interacting with us energetically (that are of the same frequency or range of vibration), and producing a subtle and unconscious effect in us, causing us to access and take on certain aspects of ourselves and bringing them into expression within our daily lives, while removing our attention from others, returning them to a passive and inactive state. In this way, through subtleties that work within our own nature, to simply reconfigure our conscious matrix, we are influenced to undergo natural and gradual changes, that over an extended period of time, can serve to transform us in a somewhat drastic way, moving us into upper or lower scales as qualities of consciousness that we strengthen and develop into a natural part of our character.

Light, as subtle energy, interferes with and influences us by altering our “state”. Our state as our vibration is our mind or accumulated energy of consciousness that we experience from “within it”, as being it, and so, as new aspects of ourselves are brought into an active state, while others are turned off, we can remain essentially unaware, in the direct sense, of the changes we go through over extended periods of time. This is partly due to the fact that we’re no acquiring anything new or that’s significantly different or foreign, we’re simply coming into or utilizing different parts of ourselves that were always there to be utilized, but we simply never had before. Though the activation of new parts of ourselves can feel awkward and unfamiliar, this is simply because we haven’t developed them by utilizing them in some manner. In the normal sense, when we take an attitude of continuously learning and growing in our life, it comes as a natural growth process of becoming, or coming into new aspects of ourselves that give us new abilities and allow for a greater range of expression. This is analogous to the idea of activating latent potential or activating dormant abilities in our DNA, which is vibrating light also, as information, which works through a process of “turning on, or switching off”, and creating new combinations that express in new ways.

As we draw in (magnetize) energy or light of varying complementary frequencies, and develop in us the qualities they predispose us to, fully integrating and harmonizing them as part of our nature or natural way of being, we acquire them through an awareness of them and by actively bringing them into expression, we not only enhance our ability to draw in more of the same type of energy from various outside sources that are apart of the wave or field of that vibration, but we can draw in the new “ranges” associated with that vibration as a state of consciousness. By increasing or decreasing our vibration by what we actively express, becoming a magnet for more of the same state, we acquire and begin building it up as an accumulative process or graduation that alters our vibration accordingly, making it permanent.

While many are misled into thinking that the evolution of consciousness is a one-way street of constant progression and improvement, this is not the case. It’s a two-way street, and we can digress and degrade as well as progress and upgrade. It’s all about what we associate with on a daily or regular basis, whose energy we’re absorbing and assimilating at the subtle, unconscious level, that’s reforming us as a state of mind to be like them through the interference patterns that are always in place that reinforce and bring out some qualities through utilization, and canceling or deactivating other qualities through non-use, that ultimately transforms us accordingly. We are constantly moving up and down a scale of consciousness as “states of being”. Any interaction, whether literal and actual, or subtle and purely energetic or unconscious, with whatever we exist in some form of relationship with, or conduct our lives in near proximity of, is effecting us in some way. These effects may be noticeable as an actual dialogue or behaviors that we become aware of through our own reactions, while others come purely as a feeling or as imaginary mental impressions, our through the symbolic realities of our nightly dreams. We’re always being influenced and transformed by everything around us that’s within the same vibratory frequency or complementary range of vibration as we are.

If this energetic influence as our state of mind appeals to the qualities and characteristics of our “lower range”, then it acts to reproduce and accumulate more of that same consciousness through the experiences and memory it creates, devolving or degrading us to a lower frequency. If these energetic influences appeal to the consciousness of our “higher range”, developing and increasing those qualities, it advances us. As we move up the scale so to speak, our lower end becomes higher, and our highest even higher, making us no longer susceptible to the influence of anything that exists outside of our range. This is experienced as things or people and ideas that used to attract or cause a reaction in us, no longer affecting us. There’s no “emotional hook” (as the experience of resonance) that grabs onto and immediately engages you, and therefore is no longer “tempting”. You have no interest, no problem saying no, and walking away without continuing to think about it. Once you rise to a certain point you’re no longer in danger of falling back. You no longer relate, engage and participate, and it doesn’t even hold your attention. You no longer think about those type of things, or get distracted by them.

So once we understand this basic law of light and energy, it gives us great insight into several things that previously eluded us or remained somewhat mysterious and therefore unusable. The most fundamental means we have of conscious and deliberate self-development is to intentionally place ourselves in certain environments, and associate only with those people that we respect, honor, admire, revere and aspire towards and want to become more like. Cultivate only relationships that foster our growth in a desirable way, honor and enhance our morality, and act naturally to bring out the best in us, strengthening and exercising our best and highest nature as virtues. While simultaneously severing ties with everyone and everything that doesn’t call on us to be the best we can be, or always act to contradict us and try to seductively persuade us to give up what we hold valuable and meaningful in order to agree and settle into being more like them.

People are always working on us just through their interaction with us to make us more like them, living out of the same values and quality of consciousness as a lifestyle or mind set, and conversing in the same way with the same attitude, while thinking the same type of things out of the same emotional perspective and attitude. They don’t do this necessarily on purpose, though some definitely do, but it comes as the very nature of the interaction itself that’s working at the energetic level to form interference patterns that work by way of reformulating our basic nature to match theirs. Whomever we enter into relationship with, acts naturally to transform some aspect of us through their influence, which, through resonance and sympathetic induction, eventually forms coherence and thereby becomes correlated as a coordinated (similar) movement and way of behaving. The more personal and intimate the relationship, the more pronounced the transformative effect. Intimate, sexual, and romantic relationships that involve deep feelings of love, ultimately produce the effect of becoming singular in nature and functioning together as a unified entity that’s of the same mind, nature, and style of expression. So these relationships are particularly important to engage in with full awareness of what they’re bringing out in you, and what kind of person you become when you’re with them. As well as, what you are acting to bring out in them as a means of creating a joint reality as the theme inherent in your shared vibration.

Karma and the Law of Cause and Effect – Changing Reactive Behaviors

Becoming Self-Aware

Karma can probably be most clearly understood as the law of cause and effect, or action that produces an equal or greater reaction. Karma is the fundamental activity of our life, which is either repeating a pattern as a natural tendency or unconscious behaviors, which produces a like effect as a reaction or immediate consequences to our actions, or it comes as a willful and deliberate act that we’re fully aware of and do intentionally. Most karma originates from conditioning of some form, where we’re trained to behavioral dynamics of some sort as the emotional dramas being played out around us that we’re a part of, and ultimately learn to participate in and cooperate in repeating as a kind of life theme that produces a consistent experience of reality. Once conditioned with a thematic life pattern as a type of experience or story that we naturally act to tell by the perceptions and relationships we form with everyone and everything else, we go through most of our life (or lives) forming and playing a familiar role in the same dynamics, over and over, through all areas of our life, usually without any real awareness that we’re the ones creating it.

 

The patterns we form as a thematic story is a natural product of our mental paradigm, and the emotional states we live out of as a general rule. All patterns are the result or expression of “states of consciousness” or mind-sets that form our everyday thoughts, and determine what we’re capable of seeing (perceiving outwardly) in any situation, and what we’re not. Those who share our thematic patterns and behavioral dynamics (of the same frequency) standout, we notice them, gravitate towards them, and they effect us or cause an internal–emotional reaction in us. Those who are of a different frequency or behavioral dynamics, don’t stand out, we don’t really notice or pay attention to them, and we can exist in near proximity of them for extended periods of time without ever interacting with them. Anyone that we share karma (life patterns) with, we tend to easily form a relationship with, and they participate in acting out the same type of story with us. While we can play any role in a dynamic, we tend to favor one while remaining largely unconscious of the others, and are most compatible with those who will play the complementary role, allowing us to remain largely unconscious of what we’re cooperating in creating.

Anytime we get caught up in a strong emotional charge of some kind, and have a strong reaction to something, we’re in the process of acting out karma as automatic and repetitive behavior that we do without thinking about or having any realization around before we do it. It’s thoughtless behavior produced by an emotional charge, which literally renders us unconscious. When we live out of a volatile sea of emotional states that keep us in a constant reactive state, or always thinking about and dwelling in what “someone else is doing”, while losing all awareness of what we’re doing instead, we can live the better part of our life out of an unconscious state, and simply repeat past patterns over and over. This is the fundamental nature of karma.

 

To get off the “karmic wheel” of fate and fortune as haphazard, knee-jerk reactions and mindless emotional drama, we have to begin gaining control over our own mind and senses, and refrain from emotional reactions of all kinds, while self-reflecting instead. As we refrain from outwardly reacting, which keeps us only conscious of the other person, and we become aware instead of what’s happening inside of us “as” the reaction itself that produces automatic behavior by accessing a memory associated with the emotion that’s activating it, and the type of behavior being displayed outside of us. It’s the emotion that enters our body, stimulating us with that same emotion, and the memory as a similar event that we have directly associated to it, that basically says “this (the present) is the same as that (the past)”, and we react in a like manner.  By doing this, we create in the present the same realities and experiences as the past. We act the same way, and create the same behavior, which not only produces the same type of experience again, but draws to us the same consequences or reactions to our behaviors. Once we “do something”, we can’t undo it, and it sets into motion a whole series of consequences, some of which are immediate and intense, others which extend over longer periods of time and are more subtle and gradient. Some consequences we recognize and own, others come later and can mystify us.

To break the patterns that bind us, we have to become fully present in the moment, become aware of any emotional charges while refraining from reacting to them, then shift our attention inwardly to observe what’s happening inside of us. Notice what the emotion is, where and how we feel it in our body, what memory immediately comes to mind in response to it, and the story we start telling ourselves about what’s happening. Because like always stimulates what’s like it, we can become aware of aspects of ourselves that we normally aren’t fully aware of or are in denial around for some reason. When we remove our attention from the outside stimulus, which is merely serving to awaken the same reality within us, and we pay attention instead to what’s happening inside of us, and we simply self-reflect on what process begins simultaneously unfolding as a whole idea, and we realize the nature of our reaction, and we “observe” our own inner experience. Just the awareness alone brings what we are unconscious of into conscious awareness. The awareness alone is enough to break the reactive pattern as a tendency, because we can catch ourselves as we’re doing it. Once we become aware of our own tendencies, and no longer react to them when being displayed by others, we can consciously choose our own behavior in response to them. We can decide what to do from a calm and relaxed inner state. By doing this, we transform old karma by producing new karma in its place as new patterns activated by the same outer stimulus.

 

When we’re in full control of what we do, and we’re not being controlled by outside forces, we become conscious creators in our own lives, and we respond from a thoughtful place that acts to cause an entirely different reaction. We can neutralize a strong emotion being projected towards us by another by deflecting it instead of absorbing it, while simultaneously initiating a new one to take it’s place by counteracting it, and changing the persons state to match ours. In this way, we can become self-determined and act as a positive influence for those who aren’t. We can transmute our karma as old reactive patterns into new patterns of awareness and intentional action that’s aware of the consequences our reactions produce and as a form of consciously creating.

Becoming Self-Aware – Mastering the Power of the Spoken Word

One of the most powerful things you can do to become self-aware is to begin taking conscious control of what you say. By becoming aware of what we say or what we tend to talk about, we can become aware of our own style of thinking. Words that make up the sentences that we speak have the power to shape visual imagery associated with them, which acts to program our subconscious mind to produce them as a physical manifestation or outer experience. What we talk about, and the attitude and stories we form by how we talk, reveal in very specific terms what our “model of the world” is, and how we use our model to fashion our realities and shape ourselves by way of those realities. Words that are spoken, bring the words as internal thoughts outward in a form of communication that elicits the same type of realities in whomever we’re speaking to. Words form the very basis of our thinking and act to shapes ideas as sound into realities internally, that are then used to express and call forth those realities externally by actively speaking them.

 
While many people believe that what they think and talk about is an accurate depiction and expression of a factual reality, and that because of this they’re communicating truthfully, the fact is, nothing could be further from the truth. Our perception of life and reality outside of us is an interpretation that remolds it to be “like us”. Our mind as a paradigm or thematic pattern, takes in information from the outside world and translates it into a story-line as a personalization of it. We’re always “within” our mind’s paradigm looking out, and only “see” in the external world what matches our internal world and can be explained, described, and understood using our paradigm. We literally abstract or pull out of any situation the parts and aspects that resonate with our model, then recompose those aspects to tell a story out of them as a way of experiencing them. Because of this unique feature of the human mind, every single person that’s apart of the same outer reality or event, will form a unique and different experience of it. If five people participate in the same thing, you’ll get five distinct interpretations, all of which “noticed” different things, and created a story out of it by how they put those abstract aspects together in a cohesive way to experience them in a consistent manner so they make sense with all of their experiences. We never experience things or other people as they are, but as we remake them.

The words we speak are formed into internal imagery that gives life to them as actual and real possibilities. Our thoughts, which come as an inner voice, utilizes our imagination which forms them into possible outer realities based on what memories or ideas we’ve associated to they words themselves. Thoughts are the seeds for producing whole realities, first internally as reliving and recombining memories, forming conceptualizations and internal representations as our creative style for expression. Not only do we think the same type of thoughts repeatedly, but we imagine the same type of scenarios over and over, different only as the modifications necessary to apply them to various outer circumstances. While they vary in application, they remain cohesive and consistent in the theme that’s used to shape them. As we think we create. Our thoughts as internal dialogue are the active use of our will. What we think about we’re simultaneously in the process of creating as our experiences. What you think and speak is not an accurate account of your life, but your life is a direct reflection of your thoughts. All reality as we know it is subject to the individual experiencing it. The inner exists in relationship to the outer, and turns universal and objective reality into a personal subjective reality as the experience of it.

 
As you speak you call forth the reality inherent in your words. As you talk to others, the words that you use and the attitude you speak them with, stimulate in them the same type of reality, and they become a co-creator in that reality. By telling them what life is like for us, we form an image of ourselves in their mind by how they think about what we’re saying. As they picture what we’re saying, they form a similar interpretation, and share in our beliefs about ourselves. This subjective reality as a personalization forms a belief system that’s projected and superimposed over our outer reality as a way of seeing, experiencing, and creating only what matches our belief about it. This is why beliefs are difficult to identify from truth, because they’re our own creation and form the very foundation for how we create our experiences as our basic outer perception.

 
One of the best ways to begin gaining an in-depth insight into your own mind, is to simply begin the practice of objectively listening or witnessing what you say to others. As you talk naturally, periodically hesitate, and move out of the associated position of being “in the experience” you’re talking about, and listen to what you just said, and notice what you see in it in terms of the belief system or paradigm you’re living out of. Listen to the reality it indicates. Notice how you’re presenting yourself to others. And simply reflect on it, allowing a chain of associated ideas to take place as a way of following them back to their roots. Notice that as you objectively listen to yourself as being outside of the experience you’re talking about, without emotional attachments, that a whole series of memories as associated ideas will flash through your mind. And again, just observe them, and allow yourself to realize where they come from and gain insight into them, as self-realization. Simultaneously you’ll begin recognizing how your outer expression as verbalizing thoughts reveals what and how you tend to think. What perspective you take to create your own experiences, what it says about you, and who you become by way of it. Don’t judge it or try to explain and justify it, simply witness it as if you were observing or listening to someone else.

Once you gain the incredible insight listening to yourself brings, you can extend the practice by learning how to think about what you say before you say it. You can move from an unconscious position of automatic and spontaneous communication, to one of thoughtful and deliberate communication. You can begin asking yourself in any situation, what do I want to create by what I’m about to say, and how will what I say and the attitude I say it with, influence the person or situation I’m saying it too? What will they form in their mind based on what I’m saying? What mental impression or mood am I creating by how and what I talk about? What image am I conveying that will form their impression of me, and what type of ideas they automatically associate to me.

 
By viewing words as cause that produces an equal and predictable effect, we can begin using our words to strategically produce a specific affect in others. We can realize that we have the ability to call forth and create whatever we speak as an internal image. We can begin realizing that it’s through communication that we naturally direct the mind of others. Whatever ideas we’re giving life to inside of us by thinking about them, become the thoughts of others by how we express them. We can begin directing other people’s mind’s by learning to direct our own mind. By becoming conscious of this dynamic process of creating through mental influence, we are provided with the means to begin taking control of our own thoughts, and becoming responsible for how we influence people in a direct and indirect manner. We can begin seeing things about ourselves that eluded us before and remained hidden from our direct awareness. We can begin realizing in very clear terms what our mental model is, what attitudes and beliefs govern our life and act to create our experiences, and through this realization we can begin working with them consciously and intentionally through the creative power of choice and will.
