The Right Understanding of the Subtle Body and how to Work with the Chakra System of the Etheric Double

The most common way the subtle body is represented in the West is through the chakra system, where it’s viewed as a chain of vertical centers that are divided into separate compartments as different aspects of our “self” and how those aspects are associated to different areas of our life. I came into contact with this idea after years of study and concentrated practice in Esoteric Sciences through exploring various methods being used in the “Healing Arts and Hypnotherapy community”, which were based largely on “certification programs” that were designed to provided the “credentials” necessary for practicing as a Healing Arts Practitioner. There was no educational prerequisites for these courses and they didn’t involve any form of in-depth study or testing upon completion of the course.

Most of these certification programs were often achieved in a weekend or four-day course, or through the study of the “method” itself without any background knowledge, usually taught with very little “actual practice” to see first hand what the long term effects were that it actually produced, and without any formal study of the actual principles involved. Not only were these healing practices usually not effective, outside of the placebo effect, but often served to produce more imbalances than they resolved. This was usually due to the fact that they had very little, if any, comprehensive understanding of what the subtle body as our etheric double “is”, and how it operates on a Astral plane as a bridge between the Higher Soul and the lower soul of the personality, orchestrated through the harmonious interaction between the instinctual and intellectual spheres of the higher mind.

The Hierarchical Structure of the Spiritual Planes

What we refer to as the “spiritual world” (energetic and invisible) exists as a hierarchical structure of seven planes or levels of consciousness where ten spheres or principles operate in a rhythmic movement of descending down the planes, and then ascending back up the planes to complete a cycle of manifestation as an incarnation. The entire structure of seven vertical levels operate on three columns or pillars within each level, with the left column representing the negative aspect, the right column the positive aspect, and the central pillar that of equilibrium between the two. The entire structure is formed out of Triads where polar opposites as two spheres function as an interaction on a single level, and are brought into equilibrium on the central pillar as the “functioning aspect”, forming a Triad. The Triad represents the fundamental principle of the Mind as being threefold in nature, where three aspects function as a single unit or unified whole.

Movement between upper and lower planes, as well as the interaction of complementary aspects (positive and negative) on the same plane occur through the “Law of Polarity” (also a fundamental universal principle) as active and passive components of the same thing. This is the activity of what’s referred to as the Monad or Mind as the “three in One Law” of the Triad (Trinity), which ultimately manifests as a “fourth aspect” within the lower planes of physical reality as a subtle-energetic body, which provides the “blueprint” (culmination of all aspects) for organizing, vitalizing, and generating the physical body as a mirror (polar) image. These same principles of the Dyad (polar opposites) and Triad (three aspects of the same thing) operate consistently on every level of the unmanifest and manifest world (universal) as not only it’s “structure”, but also how it functions as a unified whole.

The hierarchical structure of the spiritual planes is represented in detail in the Kabbalah as the “Tree of Life” and is “reflected” as a mirror image in the lower physical body as the “spiritual centers” of the subtle body, represented by the chakra system. The subtle body is constructed of “essence” (vitalized matter) that’s finely differentiated yet still in a unified state, and is “not” the true nature of the Soul itself ,which always exists in unity. Due to the fact that it serves as a “spatial blueprint” (subconscious) for the material body as it’s essence, and the reality that’s projected “through” the body (as it’s life plan), it’s energetically bonded to it, and remains in the lower regions of the Astral Plane as an “astral shell” (phantom) when the body dies, and disintegrates over time along with the body. The etheric-body “is” the subconscious mind and is programmed from conception with the entire life of the soul in the lower realm as it’s personality, character, predisposition, and karmic plan, and is the “medium” through which communication takes place between the higher and lower Self.

Coherence as a Unified Whole

What’s represented as separate centers within the body, actually exist in a unified and coherent state within the subtle body, where each center operates equally throughout every aspect of the subtle body as an influence. Just as the brain and the nervous system which extends from it are structured along the spinal cord and function as a “single unit” to operate every aspect of the body, the subtle organs serve to operate the endocrine system, of which the largest complex of “master” glands exist within the brain, and serves to keep the body in a coherent state with the mind, which uses the brain as an instrument for creating. Through coherence, the brain and nerves of the subtle body operate as “currents”, and ramify from the physical brain spreading throughout the entire system. They move as inner currents in relation to the complementary centers and organs of the outer (physical) body. The “inner state” acts as the blueprint (organized information) for constructing, consistently regenerating, and operating the “outer body” as it’s mirror image or polar opposite. Again, the inner and outer operate in harmony with each other as polar opposites that work together to produce a unified whole as a single unit. Our perception of “separation” takes place from “within” a greater unified reality, as the means necessary to “experience” ourselves as others and as a fundamental part of Nature.

This same threefold structure as complementary principles are represented by the three channels of energy within the subtle body referred to as the Ida Nadi, associated with the moon (negative-feminine), and operates the parasympathetic nervous system, regulating emotions, feelings, and memories; and the Pingala Nadi, associated with the sun (positive-masculine), governing the planning and activities of the rational intellect; and the central and main channel of Sushumna, which runs from the base of the spine to the top of the head and extending out of the top of the head into the sphere of the Higher Mind as a connection to our Higher Self. This energy flows as a current when both aspects of the mind are functioning in balance. Energy moves up and down these channels, causing certain forces to “act on” the polar aspects of the material body in a corresponding manner in order to keep it in a coherent state with the higher mind. The three channels are what magnetic fluids circulate through and their balance is necessary for a sane state of mind. This subtle fluid is what’s referred to as “akasha” which is the subtle form of matter that’s imprinted with memory. The memory of the body is what acts as the “organizing principle” for both the inner and outer reality. The astral centers of the subtle body are similar to “nerves”, in which the central one passes out of the top of the head and forms a connection with the luminous principle of the Higher Soul, represented by a sphere of beautiful white light positioned directly above the head.

Coherent (white) light enters the top of the head through the crown and is refracted to form seven plexuses (colors of the spectrum), as the seven hidden aspects that exist within the One Ray. The central column acts in a similar way to a battery, where the crown chakra functions as the positive pole and the root chakra functions as the negative pole. Energy from the higher plane is “drawn in” and circulates down through the system by “grounding” it to the Earth’s energy. We operate the energy system of the body through the Law of Polarity where the “active principle” is drawn in to it’s complementary “passive principle”. The only way to effectively work with this is by withdrawing all consciousness from the body, and placing it in in the sphere of your higher self, and concentrating on it while “identifying” (associating) with it. This renders the body “passive” so it can act to conceive the “active” consciousness of the Higher Self, where it’s metabolized through the spiritual centers of the subtle body which function as “principles” of a “unified whole”. This forms a “circuit” through which consciousness flows as an alternating current, in much the same way electricity can only be directed and utilized by grounding it to the Earth forming a pathway for it to flow.

Spiritual Principles that Operate as a Whole

Each center represents a “principle” as a characteristic and function of the whole, and can’t be utilized in a meaningful way by handling them as if they’re separate centers. Energy only flows in an unimpeded manner through a closed circuit. You don’t attempt to “clear a chakra” by working with the chakra itself as a single unit, but by properly grounding energy by making the body a “passive receptor” as a “circuit”, forming a coherent state. As long as any part of the body is being worked with through a process of visualization while concentrating on it, makes it “active” and serves to block the flow of energy which comes in through a connection to a higher plane. In order to “transform” any part of what has already manifest as a material reality, we have to work through the “higher plane” which is what’s “causing and orchestrating it”. We can’t work with a manifestation from within the manifest plane, which is merely an “effect”, by trying to manipulate it in some way. We have to work at the higher level of the mind which is “causal” in nature and is what serves to manifest ideas on the lower plane as a “whole coherent reality”.

The seven principles of the subtle body is how an idea is brought down the hierarchical planes of the spiritual world and developed through a process of adaptation and modification to manifest in a specialized way as a natural part of both our inner and outer reality. Just as the “Tree of Life” as seven levels comprised of Triads are reflected down into the lower plane of the body, the chakra system is actually comprised of a higher Triad (conscious mind) that’s reflected down into the lower plane of the body to produce a lower Triad (subconscious mind) as it’s polar opposite, combined and mediated through the middle center of the heart. The higher Triad forms the lower as it’s shadow or mirror image on a lower plane. The lower three chakras are directed and utilized as a “response” to the higher triad of the conscious mind, and the higher triad is what shapes and develops an idea in the imagination that’s acts to elicit a corresponding response in the lower triad, with the heart acting as the mediator between them.

The lower quaternary (four chakras) doesn’t possess any ability to create on it’s own, and represents the subconscious, which has to be “given a pattern” as a well-developed sensory idea that mimics a memory, which it then combines with and vitalizes with life-force as activity, causing it to manifest as an outer experience of the same kind. The lower self doesn’t possess the mental ability to shape an idea in a new and unique way, and when left to operate without guidance from the higher conscious mind, it functions to manifest based solely on memory that has already been established as conditioning and produces thought processes that run in an automatic and habitual manner. Due to this, when we don’t utilize our will in directing and shaping our own thoughts and what it is we focus on consistently, we simply draw on the akasha of our etheric-body as our storehouse of memory, and recreate the same patterns of the past over and over by replaying their memories as habitual “thought-forms”.

This system is not operated from “within” the system itself as individual centers, but as the circuit (axis mundi) that connects the upper plane of the conscious mind with the lower plane of manifestation which allows a “current” to flow unimpeded. There’s no such thing as being “blocked” or having “congestion” in only one chakra, because they all operate in correspondence to each other to produce a coherent reality. When we concentrate on the individual centers themselves, we actually cause an imbalance within the system, because concentration is a principle in itself that penetrates, expands, and increases whatever quality or idea is being developed in the mind through concentrating on it. By concentrating on the idea of a “problem”, we’re actually acting to “produce” the problem by instructing the body to manifest it.

The Principle of Concentration and Meditation

Concentration and meditation “is” a principle of the mind through which we enter into a passive state while focused on an idea, and enter into the “current” of that idea on a higher plane and “draw in” knowledge associated with the idea as a natural consequence. As we concentrate on an idea we “enter into” the idea as a “stream of consciousness” or mental flow. This is how we attain knowledge without “learning it” through study or being taught by an outside entity. While you may be able to gain insight into the emotional nature of an existing manifestation by focusing on the symbol associated with the solar plexus and meditating on it, at the same time you’re streaming vital energy into the insights gained, amplifying and multiplying them, because your not working at the level of “cause” in terms of identifying what idea you’re actively expressing that the emotions are being invoked by as a natural response. The body of the subconscious always responds to the thoughts being envisioned in the imagination of the higher mind, where it forms corresponding feelings, emotions, motivation, and activities that serve to “manifest” it as an experience. The upper and lower Triads work together to produce a unified reality through a “cause and effect” relationship.

The only purpose of the lower four centers is to energize the idea being presented to it as a “representation” built in the imagination through concentration that they form a natural response to. To change the response you have to change the representation producing it. As the subconscious animates the imagined idea by blending with it (sympathetic induction) and motivating the activities it takes on (emotion as an arousing force), and therefore determining how it expresses, it simultaneously connects with the energies in the outer world associated with that same idea as a pattern, and through electromagnetic impulses (resonance) organizes them to form our “perception” of an equivalent outer reality. Just as the subtle body as the subconscious mind serves to spatially organize and animate the physical body with specific characteristics and activities, it also organizes the outer reality in the same way, because they’re not separate things. The inner produces the blueprint for constructing the outer as an expression of it, and together they’re formed into an experience, which is then translated back into the same type of memory that initiated it, where it’s “built up” as the means of “evolving the whole” by way of the part (holographic principle).

The Law of Polarity and the Relationship of Complementary Opposites

Energy as consciousness operates systematically through complementary (opposing) spheres on the same level, and as correlated movement between upper and lower planes of a hierarchical structure through the Law of Polarity. The passive always serves as a receptor for the active. What’s active on the higher plane is only “drawn down” into the lower plane by making it’s complementary aspect a passive receptor for it. The subtle body itself is the culminated energies of the higher planes formed into a cohesive whole where it serves as the energetic blueprint for organizing our perception of the entire lower plane of manifestation, which comes “through” the energy center of the mind while being housed by the body. The etheric-double itself never changes and remains consistent throughout our lifetime. This principle of the mind is represented by the Monad, where the center expands outward through an electromagnetic pulsation to produce both an inner and outer reality of a corresponding nature. The same organized field of information as a “metaphorical pattern” expresses equally on different “scales” of manifestation as a whole.

In practical terms we can realize this organizing principle of the mind as “perception” which operates through a harmonious correlation of “filters” that serve to separate and order the information available in the whole of reality through polarity by “activating” and bringing forth some qualities and aspects, while simultaneously deactivating and subduing other aspects, causing them to recede into the background in a latent state, and re-configuring the “selected” aspects into a “new whole” that’s of the same nature and structure (patterning) as the mind producing it, bridging the inner with the outer as a unification or continuation of each other. The outer is shaped by the inner, it’s only a question of whether or not we’re aware of it, or if we’re doing it while in a primarily unconscious state where we’re detached from our own creation, and therefore unaware of how it is we’re creating it.

On the material plane of manifestation the subconscious and conscious, as the inner and outer, are polar opposites and therefore complementary aspects of the same thing, and act “on each other” to stimulate each other as a kind of “feedback loop”. This function is represented by the infinity symbol (8) as a self-perpetuating and self-sustaining system of self-creation. The idea developed on the inward planes expands and projects outward, exciting only correlated aspects within the outer light of the group mind, ordering and organizing them into a corresponding construct as a personal creation of the individual mind, then, once it reaches the end of our visual perception, switches polarity and returns back into the center from whence it came, where it’s translated into an “experience” and formed into a memory (representation). A memory is formed out of the “experience” created based on the feelings and emotions that came as a response to an event, and the meaning it held for us as a result, and not as a historical account of the event itself, as many believe. A memory is created as a “representation” of an event, which serves as a kind of “metaphor” that forms a perceptual lens for creating more of the same type of experiences that are easily translated into the same type of memory, where they’re built up over time, strengthening and continuously developing them as an evolutionary process.

This is easy to understand when you self-reflect on what you perceive as “memories of the past” where you acquired the same type of “feelings about yourself” through numerous experiences of a similar kind, which, based on how you interpreted them to make them mean something, ultimately served to form the “story” you began telling yourself as the means of experiencing “yourself”. An event of an emotionally intense nature was translated into a memory based on the type of feeling it gave you, as a “representation” in your imagination that didn’t represent the event itself as an objective occurrence, but as a metaphorical representation of the “meaning” you gave it that set the basis for a “theme” as a perceptual lens used to interpret all events of the same kind to make them mean the same thing, and as a result, built up and evolved the representation over time through an accumulative process of creation. You took and initial representation and used it to both “perceive and conceive”, first projecting it and then absorbing it, producing more of the same type of experiences that you built into the memory itself as a means of evolving it through different stages and areas of your life as what became a central theme as your life story.

The Holographic Principle

This accumulated memory as a representation constructed on the inner planes is transformed and evolved by forming unique variations of the same idea produced through different situations and circumstances that somewhat altered the meaning it has through new combinations that served to grow it through the acquisition of new qualities that served to modify the “parent pattern” being used. This idea is represented in the “holographic principle” and the concept of “fractal patterns”, as well as the “Golden Mean”, Particle-Wave Duality, and Entanglement, all of which operate to form new variations that still hold true to the central theme through the Law of Polarity. We alter vibration, which contains a living pattern as an idea by working with complementary aspects as “functions” of a greater whole. The subtle body exists as the function of the polar aspects of the instinctual-emotional and the intellectual-rational aspects of the same higher mind. These two complementary aspects, commonly referred to as the subconscious and self-conscious aspects of our physical being work in harmony to produce the subtle body as their offspring which operates as a “functioning whole”. When we take an attitude of working directly on the etheric-body itself through manipulation of the subtle organs and energy centers themselves by separating them into categories of a coherent state, our efforts are futile at best, and harmful at worse.

The body itself doesn’t have the ability to heal or transform itself from within the subconscious mind, but acts only as a vessel and vehicle of the higher conscious mind of the Soul which operates “through it” as a coherent state of consciousness. The only way to change the state of the body, is to ground the lower chakra as the “negative pole”, while opening the crown chakra to connect with the upper plane as the “positive pole”, in order to act as a receiver for the ideas of the Higher Self. We do this by withdrawing all of our conscious awareness from the body and spiritual organs of the subtle body, and concentrating all of our attention on the sphere of our Higher Self, which exists directly “above” our head in the immediate space around us. Our Higher Self is represented by a sphere or globe of beautiful white light (coherent state as whole) that only fragments into the colors of the spectrum when it enters into the crystalline structure of the third-eye and liquid cells of the body, revealing it’s inner, hidden aspects. The Higher Self exists in a coherent state as a harmonious whole that’s reflected in the lower plane of the physical body as aspects that function as a cohesive part of a dynamic whole. The subtle body is a hologram as a “medium” through which the energy of higher consciousness expresses as a “whole” on the physical plane of manifestation. Our tendency towards duality and separation of what exists in a unified state, is a fundamental error in our thinking, and everything that comes out of it expresses that same error.

The subtle body can only be worked with using the intellect to guide and direct the instinctual by giving it a “pattern”” as a representation defined and shaped with sensory detail that acts to “alter it’s state” as a whole. It’s the higher mind that orders and organizes the four Elements of the material plane into a coherent state. This is represented by realizing the crown and root are positive and negative poles of a continuous circuit, and the five chakras in between are represented by the Pentagrammaton, where the top, fifth chakra represents the ether as the 3rd-eye, which conceives ideas as representations from the Higher Self and uses them as a blueprint for ordering and organizing the 4 Elements (lower 4 chakras) of the physical body into a functioning matrix that expresses the idea as an inner and outer reality. The 5th principle resides above and in the center of the lower 4, symbolized by the star of the Pentagram, encircled by the mind of the Monad.

Putting it all Together

The etheric-body is operated through the etheric principle of the Higher Mind, where all ideas as representations (archetypes) are conceived in the receptive organ of the 3rd eye, and reflected on the outer lens, where it’s “looked through” and perceived in its whole form as a possible reality (imagined), and forms the basis for all our thoughts as inner dialogue (throat chakra), vitalized with feeling sensations (heart) that invoke correlated emotions (solar plexus), which forms the motivational force (sexual center) that animates them with life as activities and actions (grounded in reality), causing them to manifest as an outer reality, which is then used to create an experience of it. Thought is made manifest “through” the body by completing the circuit through which the current of higher consciousness flows abundantly as an alternating current. This circuit is made by making the body a passive receptor of the Higher Self.

When we concentrate on the individual centers themselves we “activate them” and cut off flow as a result. Whatever we concentrate on we make active and expressive. By activating the subtle centers, we not only cut off the flow of consciousness from our Higher Self, we expand and grow the energy itself causing an imbalance as an exaggeration and amplification of that energy. Concentration causes energy to proliferate. The body needs to be made passive as a circuit for the active forces of the mind to flow into and harmonize as a “whole creation” born out of a coherent state. We don’t work on the manifestation as an “effect” from “within” the manifestation itself that we imagine to be neatly divided up into separate compartments, but by operating on the higher plane of pure mind that’s acting as the “cause”. We don’t clear energy from each center by visualizing it as expanding and contracting, because they don’t exist as “separate and individual centers”. The symbols used to represent them are not the centers themselves but “principles” that perform different functions of a greater whole.

We draw down higher consciousness through our subtle body which serves to operate our physical body through a working understanding of the primary Law of Polarity and Correspondences. Vibration is formed as a correspondence of ideas formed in the mind as visual thoughts. Vibration is movement between two opposite poles or spheres that generate “light” as a phantom image or hologram of the idea that set it in motion. Vibration forms a rhythm that repeats as cycles on different scales through the reciprocating relationship of “cause and effect”. Thought formed on the inner plane through concentration while in a meditative state sets vibration in motion and contains a whole idea which manifests (serves as the cause) outside of us as an outer reality, and then switches polarity on the same plane and becomes the “cause” for stimulating a corresponding inner effect (output and uptake), and repeats as a rhythmic pulsation that’s self-perpetuating and self-sustaining.

This same process of polarity operates between upper and lower planes, and the subtle body as the unification of instinct and intellect forms an energetic medium through which higher consciousness flows into the lower planes as “thoughts made flesh”. The only meaningful way to work with the subtle body itself to facilitate this natural flow, is by grounding it in a passive state while opening the crown chakra to the upper plane and concentrating your full attention into the sphere of your higher consciousness, which resides above and outside of the body itself (enveloping it), and thereby drawing down the energy and grounding it in the the material world as a whole reality that brings a certain type of experience.

The Path of Self-Mastery and the Process of Transformation to a Higher Level of Consciousness

The idea that life on Earth is a “school” for the soul that’s designed to teach us in some way can seem a bit confusing to many because we often associate this idea with our pain and suffering brought on by the constant challenges that cause us to struggle in life. Sometimes our life can almost seem like a bad joke that can cause us to lose faith in ourselves, or we feel as if we’re being punished somehow for something that we’re not even quite sure of. But if we learn how to work with our own mind to change our perspective and form new realizations around our soul’s essence and purpose in life we can begin seeing all things as an opportunity for growth instead of a means to an end that ultimately resides as an all-pervasive yet obscured form of chaos and uncertainty.

One of the most persistent illusions for the human soul is that our material existence and the reality we serve to project is all there is and represents the ultimate prize to be won by how we conform to society’s rules and work to serve the will of others. When we realize the temporal nature of life and our personal existence as a material, and therefore mortal being, we become overwhelmed with a sense of dread and intense fear at the thought of disappearing and no longer existing after the death of our body. With the death of our body also comes the death of our reality as a personal existence created while in our body. Even when we entertain the idea of our soul being eternal, and we’re faced with the realization that our soul merely resides in our body temporarily as the means of developing itself to a higher level of consciousness, we don’t always know what that means or how to comprehend it in a way that instills a sense of purpose for our life that inspires us towards a higher goal.

From as far back as we can remember most of us have been taught that our material existence and this lifetime is all there is, and that when it’s over and done with, we’ll be judged accordingly, and suffer eternal consequences as a result. Very few realize that our “mind” (soul) is comprised of three aspects that each perform different functions in creating a greater whole, and is the means through which we create all of our experiences in life. We’re taught that in order to be successful we need to go out into the world and work to accumulate material possessions and achieve a high status, while selling and bartering away whatever part of our soul’s essence necessary to do it. We’re taught that it’s not who you are as a conscious being that matters, it’s your position in life achieved through material accomplishments and your loyalty in serving what you perceive to be a higher authority in an obedient manner. We’re taught right from the start to strive to be a faithful worker of the establishment and a valuable part of the engine that makes things work.

We’re born into a reality of slavery where we’re mentally and emotionally trained, coerced and manipulated to perform our duty faithfully without questioning it, complaining or attempting to resist it in some way. Many work their whole life away while secretly dying inside emotionally and morally. They know what they really want to do but they’re too afraid to make the changes necessary in order to do it. On their death bed they look back on their life with a deep sense of disillusionment, regret over what they know they should have done but didn’t, and remorse over the fact that they sold their soul in order to live what amounted to a meaningless life. Even when we know deep inside that there’s more to life than meets the eye, we cling instead to quiet feeling of desperation for something we don’t even know for sure exists.

Self-Realization

When we, as a soul, form a belief around the idea that we “are” our body, and we live our life out of our formative conditioning as whatever we’ve been taught to think and do, our soul becomes lost in and subordinate to a realm that it was actually intended to rule. As we begin questioning the true meaning of life, we begin a form of soul searching to find out who we really are. This inquiry into the true meaning of things is what begins the initial process of realizing our true identity, and is the only part in the process that requires a “belief” in what is unknown or not yet realized. As we set out on our journey of self-discovery we’re required to employ “faith” in finding the path that will eventually lead us to the truth of who we really are. It’s only through the search for greater meaning that we find new answers that connect us with a higher Truth. Once we remove our steadfast belief in our bodily existence as being all there is and begin placing it in our soul instead, a whole new path and way of living opens up and becomes available to us as a result.

The first step in “spiritual awakening” comes when we recognize that as long as we’re aligned with and devoted to our physical existence as being all there is, our spiritual path remains latent and hidden behind the veil of illusion placed in front of it. The path doesn’t begin unfolding until we make a decision and commitment to follow it by taking the first step. It’s only when we take the first step as an inner awareness and commitment that the next one unfolds in our outer awareness. This is due to the fact that our reality as an “outer awareness” is actually being produced by us as our perception. All of what we experience as “reality” is a mental construct created within our own mind. Not by our brain, heart, or body, but by our mind, soul, and spirit. It’s the invisible aspects of us that are actively creating the visible world in which we live and create experiences of our self.

It’s only when we change our focus and what we’re investing in as the means of creating ourselves, and begin tuning into our inner awareness, which is what provides us with true guidance, and we willingly take that first step into the unknown, that the next step becomes apparent. We then have to be willing to take that step before the next one will appear. Our path doesn’t appear in front of us in complete form as a means of reassuring us as a guarantee of where it’ll ultimately lead, but requires us to “trust” in the process. This is because our mind is what’s forming our perception, and it’s through the repetition of already existing patterns that we can predict the future as a continuation of the past. When we commit to a truly new way of being, we step willingly into the unknown and have to trust that we’ll know what to do in brand new and unfamiliar situations. This initial process of spiritual exploration that brings us into contact with our true being requires trust, belief, and faith in the fact that it’s real and not just fantasy. This is because when you break away from conventional belief-systems of the group mindset and venture out on your own, the entire outer world and everything you’ve known up to that point will seem to oppose you. You begin walking contrary to the very life you initially acted to create.

Undertaking our spiritual development in a fully conscious manner is always difficult because it requires us to shift our center of gravity from a primary focus on the outer world and place it firmly on our inner feelings and awareness stemming from our “inner self”. As we begin tuning into our inner awareness around outer things, we begin forming a new relationship with ourselves as a kind of intimacy. The more familiar we become with ourselves internally, the more we naturally begin detaching from the image of our self we created using material ideas, and we can begin seeing the outer world for its true purpose in terms of what it serves to awaken and bring alive inside of us. Once we begin honestly realizing that we’re the one creating our experiences based on whatever energies are alive and active inside of us, we start touching on our true power as a soul and spirit. We can begin realizing that we create our reality based on how we manage and work with our own internal energy. We can only work with an “energy” (quality of consciousness) while it’s alive and actively expressing “within” us. We can sit for years contemplating ideas while telling ourselves that we “are” that way, meaning we know it, because it’s very easy to manage qualities while they’re in a passive and latent state. It’s only when we encounter something that activates that quality within us that we actually have the opportunity to work with it in whatever way we choose.

The Human Soul and the Nature of Reality

The human Soul is a sovereign being of greater intelligence that resides in its natural state on a higher plane of existence and acts to create an image of itself by first constructing a etheric blueprint for fashioning an animal body which it then inhabits as a means of creating within the lower, material plane. The Soul is formed out of memory that it acquires through the experiences it creates while in a physical body. It completely designs the life of its own physical existence from a higher plane, and then enters into the body as a means of “experiencing its own creation” from within it, having it. As it enters into the dense realm of the subconscious as an infant, it’s acclimated to the body through conditioning, and the higher, self-aware mind is birthed while fully in the body, where it becomes “identified” with its material form and life conditions. Because the conscious aspect of the lower mind is birthed within the body, it mistakes itself for being the body and can live its entire life out of its initial conditioning, often without ever realizing that it actually has the higher power in being able to direct and determine its own development, and it can becomes lost in its own delusions as a result.

The higher Soul’s purpose in a material existence lies is in its ability to develop its own moral character through active use of its higher creative abilities. But in order to utilize higher capacities that exist initially in a latent state, it has to realize that it possesses them as a fundamental part of its being. These higher abilities come as realization around the power of our mind and the nature of our higher Soul in operating through it, the ability to reason, make calculated decisions based on rational evaluation, and exercise will in acting out those decisions. All realization, which comes through our own mind as an essential form of self-realization, only comes through experience. All knowledge, which is essentially knowledge the Self, is only attained through the realizations born out of experiences. We can think about something all day long while imagining what it would be like, but until we actually experience it, we don’t realize anything because of it. As the Soul creates experiences of itself through a physical existence, it acquires knowledge of itself as its own creator. As we create our own experiences, we then absorb those experiences and translate them into “memory” as the building blocks for producing more experiences of the same kind.

The outer world of material phenomenon exists in polarity with the inner world of thought and feelings, and serves the primary purpose of stimulating us internally bringing correlated qualities into an active state, providing us with the opportunity to see them as they truly are and work with them accordingly. When we don’t realize what’s happening as inner qualities come alive in us due to an outer stimulus, we allow them free reign over us and they act to shape our perception and experience without any real awareness on our part of the fact that we can change them by simply learning to manage them using our mind. We often form the perception that the outer world is separate from us and is experienced by us in an objective manner, yet nothing could be further from the truth. This is very evident by simply observing the fact that several people who are apart of the same event or situation will all perceive it in a different way, form a unique experience of it through the story they tell themselves about it, and conduct themselves in different ways as a result.

While we tend to think that there’s an “objective reality” that exists “out there” separate from us, and there is in the common sense of a material construct that we all share in common (called Nature), however reality in its most basic sense is always “subjective”, because each person perceives it in a different way that’s unique to them based on their mental paradigm. Our paradigm is the energetic structure of our mind formed out of personal memory. We filter the outer reality through our paradigm as a means of “interpreting” what it means, and we reshape it according to the meaning we give it. We naturally reshape everything outside of us to “be like us” through our very perception of it. This isn’t done as a conscious act that we’re aware of, but as a natural (unconscious) act that’s formed automatically. Reality is what’s created as our mind’s ability to perceive it. Perception is the most fundamental form of creation we naturally engage in.

All of what we call reality is based on an individual perception formed by our mind as it works through our brain and nervous system. Our higher Soul “is” our mind as an organized field of information comprised of memory that vibrates at a certain frequency and has a pattern inherent in it as a 3-D model (hologram), along with a self-organizing force. We organize the information available in the outer field of the group and cosmic mind to be of the same nature as our inner model. We organize reality through a dynamic filtering system that restructures it to match us. Our “true self” isn’t our body, brain and nervous system, it’s our mind as an invisible sphere of energy that not only permeates and inhabits our body, but extends quite some distance around us as an emanation and projection that serves to form our perception of reality as a continuation of the same idea (pattern). What we perceive as being “out there” is a direct reflection as an extension of what’s “in here”, because the same mind is creating both.

In order to develop our soul as our character we work through the agency of our mind, which are essentially the same thing. The mind is an aspect of the Soul that’s used as the means for structuring reality as a projection in order to “experience itself” as and through that reality. The reality itself is formed as an expression of the inner self that allows the Soul to gain knowledge of itself through its own self-created experiences. What lies hidden within us that we’re consciously unaware of, is revealed to us as a fundamental part of our outer environment because it plays a crucial role in stimulating us inwardly as a form of self-recognition. The agency of the Soul that forms the inner and the outer to be of the same nature and likeness, is our “character” which is shaped through our moral development.

How we develop ourselves morally forms the bridge between our mortality and immortality. If we live a life of poor morality by blending with inferior energies that are void of any real consciousness, then we create ourselves as a lower being driven by blind impulses and instincts. We allow ourselves to be shaped by our passions and emotional states. If we choose instead to only couple with equal or superior energies that are of a virtuous nature and fully conscious in terms of who we really are, then we ascend in mind and spirit to higher levels of sovereignty and true individuality. As long as we remain unconscious, we perceive others as separate from us and capable of determining us based on how they act to stimulate us inwardly, usually through emotions of some kind that we tend to readily take in and internalize to produce correlating experiences of ourselves as being the same way. Whatever we absorb and readily take on from others and our environment serves to adjust our mental state to be of the same nature, and we act to willingly participate in co-creating a joint-reality with them.

When we step into our true identity as the one creating both our Self and our outer experience of life, we realize that anytime we’re being stimulated by something outside of us that it provides us with the opportunity to work with that quality inwardly as a means of gaining the realizations necessary to transform and develop them in whatever way is necessary in order to not be controlled or overwhelmed by them. As we work on our inner mental state we transform our outer perception accordingly. The outer environment itself stays the same in terms of the same basic elements that compose it, but how it “appears to us” changes and what aspect of it we mentally interact with changes also. When we no longer take on the emotions and attitudes being projected by others towards or around us, we remain calm inside and able to control ourselves. As we control our own reactions by not taking on and internalizing the emotions of others, we neutralize them while remaining calm inside. We can bring forces that are causing an imbalance as an extreme of some kind back into a balanced and harmonious state by not giving them our attention.

We can exercise our true power to create by taking on the role and perspective of being the “creator” rather than being the “creation”. We move from allowing ourselves to be created by others and the events of our life, to being the one creating ourselves by way of them. Our most basic quest in life comes in how we form our identity. By what it is we identify with based on how we “sense ourselves” through our experiences of life. When we remain in a primarily unconscious state and lack true self-awareness, we create the experience of being “created” by our external world and others. As we begin waking up to our true higher nature and mental power, and we realize that we are in fact the one creating our own reality as the means of creating ourselves as that reality, we step into our true identity as a higher Soul and engage in the process of creating ourselves while in a fully awake and conscious state. We move from a perception of ourselves as having no self-control in being a product of our circumstances, to one of actively being the one doing the creating by managing our own internal state of mind. We no longer feel helpless in directing our own life experiences and begin working internally to create and determine “how” we experience ourselves within the conditions and circumstances of our daily life. It’s never about “what happens to us”, but how we use what happens to the best possible benefit in consciously facilitating our own growth.

Bringing Knowledge into Practice

What this tells us is that whatever feeling, quality, or emotion we’re being stimulated with from the outside world, is providing us with the live opportunity to work directly with that quality in a fully conscious and self-aware manner. We don’t need to argue as to whether or not the outer event is real and warrants whatever response it naturally provokes, but simply turn inward instead and place our full attention on what’s alive and actively expressing inside of us. As we focus on the inner feelings being propagated we can gain new awareness around it that spawns a whole series of new realizations. If we continue to close off the outer stimulus and relinquish the need to somehow validate its credibility, and focus purely on the inner quality it served to bring alive inside of us, we can choose to work with that energy in whatever way we desire. If we stay awake during emotional charges instead of going unconscious and forming a natural reaction based on past memory it also serves to activate, we can work at the level of cause instead of by trying to somehow change the outer effect.

When we’re stimulated with fear that’s overwhelming and causes extreme anxiety, we have the opportunity to work with it internally and learn how to manage it psychologically. We can utilize our “will” as the means of directing the internal forces of Nature that we experience as emotions. We begin this process through our rational awareness of what’s happening which is what allows us to subdue it to the point where it’s not overwhelming and intense. Just the act of learning how to subdue and calm it down within us, is the first step to managing and bringing it under the direction of our Will. Once we’ve brought it under control of our higher Will, and it begins subsiding accordingly, we can decide how it is we want to transform it as a means of utilizing it in a productive way as a means of creating in an intentional and deliberate manner.

We only learn through experience and all growth comes by learning how to take control of our own mind in creating our experiences. Every internal activation is an opportunity to work with the quality being activated. While we can only employ knowledge in theory as a means of preparing ourselves for using it, we only have the opportunity “acquire” the essence of the knowledge by how we apply and utilize it in a live situation where its active and expressing as an event of some kind. When we can learn how to work with the spiritual forces of Nature that are designed to drive instinct by employing our higher, rational Soul in balancing them, we acquire knowledge of them as knowledge of ourselves. This knowledge comes as self-realization and is utilized as the means of experiencing our self in relation to the outer world. The outer world or event itself doesn’t change, it’s only our experience of it that changes. It’s our perception that changes and how things appear to us, and it no longer acts to stimulate us in an unconscious manner, because we’ve transformed and equalized it within, neutralizing it as a result. We’re then able to be in the same type of situations while remaining calm and unaffected by them, and we perceive them in a whole different way as a result.

The Archetypal Nature of the Spirit, the Creative Power of the Soul and the Nature of the Self

One of the most fundamental errors we make in how we think about things comes when we start from the premise of duality and separation. Any hypothesis that’s based on a concept of separation while referring to our essential self or spiritual nature is an illusion in the most basic sense of the idea. I can remember a few years back attending a conference with what we could clearly call new agers, and one of the main ideas being expressed at that time was that our soul is not our “self”, with the “self” meaning who we are in relation with our body, personality, and ego formed out of identification with the body. When asked who you were the “right answer” was to state that you were a divine universal being, or something of that nature, instead of saying your name. They were teaching duality in the most basic sense and didn’t even seem to be aware of it.

This is a common error created through a lack of understanding of the principles governing different planes of existence, illustrated through the Hermetic axiom “As above so below, and as below so above, in the miraculous workings of the One thing”, and the concept of “eternity as immortality”. When we fail to understand fundamental universal principles that apply to all life, that misunderstanding comes through and is equally reflected in everything we think and do. While the idea of universal principles forming the basis for all life may appear to be based on a “belief” because it seems to offer no real “facts” to support it, this is also based on what it is we’re referring to as “facts”, and how it is that we know if something is true or not, and therefore “real”. Within the invisible principles that accompany and serve to organize and give life to the material world resides one of the greatest paradoxes and pervading mysteries of all time. How do we “know” if something is real or not?

I have often found it amazing if not a bit bewildering how science is always on a group quest to find “the theory of everything”, as though it’s going to come through a mechanical model of some kind or as the result of some kind of measurement or mathematical equation, without seeming to recognize that all science and reality itself is only “knowable” through our ability to perceive it. Society itself is being trained to rely on some kind of scientific study conducted by an expert to tell them what can only really be known through direct experience. The common denominator to all life and the whole “cosmic mystery” is the “mind”. All science arises out of our ability to think about things while wondering about new possibilities. Reality is only real and therefore “knowable” through our minds ability to perceive it. Every single mind of every individual perceives a slightly different and highly personalized version of what’s called an objective or shared reality that’s common to everyone.

This amazing feat of infinite possibilities for a single idea is produced by a dynamic series of “filters” that are used to sort through a vast and infinite amount of information inherent in the invisible field of information that surrounds us. Our mental filters serve to bring out and accentuate some features inherent in the whole, while subduing and excluding others to form a “new field of organized information” which is as a “personal creation” formed as a mental construct. How we experience reality changes based on the formation of new filters and the ongoing transformation of existing ones. These mental filters, also called perceptual filters, are formed out of beliefs, values, preferences, and memory. These filters form our mental paradigm, which is what we use as the means of shaping our reality by how we select, interpret, and organize specific aspects of any situation in order to create how we “experience” it.

Our mental paradigm is comprised of a system of mental filters that form our “perceptual lens” which is what we “look through” as the means of experiencing reality. We only see, process, form as a conceptual image and therefore comprehend what can be constructed, explained, described, and confirmed using our paradigm. When we understand this idea in the most basic sense we realize that what we tend to call “reality” is formed as a mental construct and projection of our mind. Nothing “out there” exists independent of what’s “in here”. One is the continuation and extension of the other as a mirror image (polar opposite). Everyone takes what exists as a universal field of potential and through a process of natural selection, reshapes it into a personalized, subjective version as their “experience”. All reality is the result of perception, and all perception forms how we experience our self “as” a reality. We don’t necessarily “manifest” material reality itself, but rather reshape it through our mental model to resemble us, and serve as a primary means of self-expression that provides us with a mirror into all aspects of our mind, many of which are hidden from us in the ordinary sense.

Our mind, like the light that makes up reality, is invisible to the senses, and we typically only “perceive” and form an entire reality out of a very small part of the light spectrum. We only see a small fraction of what’s “actually there”. There are many aspects of reality being played out all around us, within the same space, which we don’t recognize or perceive directly with our physical senses. This is because our senses are what allows us to perceive the world around us. What this tells us is that like the individual reality created using our mental paradigm by recombining key elements inherent in the whole to form a new possibility, what we perceive at any given time is only a small aspect of a much, much greater whole.

What we commonly refer to as the “soul” is equivalent with the mind, both of which are invisible to our senses. We can look at the mind as being a universal principle and the soul as being what works through the mind to produce a material image of itself. Our soul is our personal consciousness built up through experiences of itself acquired through the body. The Soul creates reality as the means of experiencing itself as its own creation. We only gain knowledge of ourselves through direct experience. The soul utilizes the mind as a means of constructing a reality of itself, which it then uses in order to experience itself “as” as a material being. It doesn’t do this by simply designing the body that it then inhabits as a “personality”, but by creating the “whole reality” of the body necessary to experience itself in a specific way.

The entire outer reality of the personality is produced as a mental projection that’s naturally formed out of our formative conditioning. Our initial conditioning takes place as a child through a process of adaptation that modifies and adjusts our paradigm to match our environment. In this way we can produce a unique variable of the same core essence and evolve ourselves according to a specific set of conditions and circumstances. The soul isn’t comprised of the personalized version created through our body, personality, and identity within the body, but by taking the personalized experience created and returning it to a universal, archetypal state. The human soul is archetypal in nature and is comprised of unique combinations and potencies of different qualities to form a new and unique whole. The process of creation is represented by the infinity symbol as a perpetual movement between parallel planes that are complementary in nature.

 We draw on a universal archetype as the means of producing an experience of our self as an outer projection, and then reabsorb the experience created and turn it back into a universal state as our soul’s memory and essence. Our soul is comprised of universal memory that is metaphorical and thematic in nature, because this is necessary in order to be able to adapt it to any situation as the means of creating more of the same type of experiences. Our soul is universal in nature and is what’s creating the entire material plane of manifestation as an individual. It’s holistic in nature, and exists in a whole, unified form on its native plane.

Subtle Body

Our soul designs what we call the “light body” or “etheric double” of subtle energy which serves as the blueprint for not only constructing and animating the body, but for the entire reality produced “through the body” as a mental projection. It creates the world through which it experiences itself from the inside out. It’s in a constant state of transformation based on the energy its constantly absorbing from everything around it as the Earth’s soul. This is done through the principle of polarity as a form of electromagnetic pulsation and respiration. We’re always drawing in the energy from around us that’s of a similar nature to us, and metabolizing it to adjust our mental model. As we metabolize and assimilate new energies (information) we equalize ourselves in terms of energetic composition to match or be the same nature as the environment we live, grow, and experience ourselves through.

All creation that’s of an intelligent (highly organized) and complex nature requires a blueprint, model, or prototype in order to be systematically produced, reproduced, and maintained. Our light body, like our physical body which is a mirror image of it, is constantly undergoing a process of regeneration through the birth, maturity, and death process. The outer reality of organized light of the Earth’s soul (Nature) is mentally constructed by the individual as an emanation. Our energy field is not confined to the body, and extends quite some distance from our body in more and more subtle forms. While we tend to think that our “self” as our “I” (identity) is not formed as an individual by our soul, and that our body is somehow separate from our mind, soul, and spirit which give us life, it is in fact the creation of our soul, and is in a constant state of growth and transformation. This also forms the illusion that “consciousness” is somehow produced by the brain and nervous system, instead of what’s using it as a vehicle for traversing and working within the material plane, which exists fully “within it” as an essential part of it.

The soul is what gives life to the body and acts as the “organizing principle” of all material forms. Every single material form (light body made of photons) is an emanation of One Light. The Soul is the electrical force that “charges plasma” and organizes light (photons) into a distinct pattern. It coagulates light to form a ghost-like image of gases (astral fluid), which then becomes more densely concentrated as liquid-light (etheric substance), which is used to organize the entire lower material plane. It’s the life-force that operates and runs our body through electrical impulses that set a chain-reaction in motion as a neurological process of equilibrium. Our mind as an “energetic state” (frequency) works through our brain, nervous system, and endocrine system to adjust our body to the same state. Our brain and nervous system is what you can think of as our command center for operating our body.

All “thought” comes as electrical sparks that stimulate various parts of our brain to form a kind of encoded message system that’s translated into chemical messengers by various parts of our body. A spark ignites, awakening and setting into motion a mental function, which then follows a series of pathways, similar to how lightning propagates through the atmosphere, forming a whole orchestration of correlated activities. As consciousness is transmitted through the brain and nervous system as electrical impulses, it stimulates hormone production of the endocrine system where it’s translated into orders for organizing a synchronized event, flooding the bloodstream with the chemical instructions necessary to synchronize all systems of the body to produce a unified motion as activity of the whole being.

It’s the mind operating through the brain that creates our reality as a conscious state, and for this reason creates the illusion of consciousness arising from the brain. Spirit comes “through the body” and projects reality from within outward. In order to change the outer appearance of reality in terms of how we perceive and thereby experience it, we have to work to change our mental paradigm that ordering, organizing, and producing it as a mental projection. If we try to change our experience by working on the outer material manifestation we usually end up simply creating the same type of experience, only in a new way. This is where you get sayings like “no matter where you go, there you are”.

The outer reality only changes in exact proportion to the inner reality. Our inner reality, formed as a mental construct out of memory, serves to organize the substrata (energetic matrix) out of which all material phenomena arise as an emanation. We change the inner by studying and constantly taking in new information that we conceptualize as an inner representation that brings new realizations about the same thing, causing a paradigm shift. As we imagine ideas in detail, developing them the more we think about them, they become a set of instructions for our subconscious to produce as an outer experience of the same type and kind. As we apply knowledge to produce an experience of it as a reality, we absorb our experience and it becomes our soul’s essence. When we stop learning and growing, we become stagnate and complacent, and begin dying. We’re always both expanding and reforming, or we’re contracting and dying, becoming smaller and less capable of adapting.

 So to say that there’s “no self” is an anomaly that comes out of a fundamental misconception. The “self” is actually the creation of the soul necessary in order to experience itself in a specific way as a material being. The self isn’t fixed as the form itself in a completely limited state, it’s constantly fluctuating and morphing as a continuous growth process based on an overall plan as the life naturally produced by the soul. The entire material plane is the creation of the soul and is what provides it with an “experience” of a certain kind, necessary in order to “know itself”. What we call the spirit exists on a higher plane of vibration as archetypes in an ideal and potential (unformed) state, which are drawn down by the soul on a medium plane through sympathetic induction, and utilized to form an image of itself that is then projected into the lower, material plane in order to experience itself. The soul is comprised of a vibration that forms the lower frequency of the higher plane, and the highest frequency of the lower plane. It acts as a circuit or conduit for spirit to manifest in form as one of an infinite number of possibilities without being changed from its original state on the higher plane.

This is what’s meant by the idea that only what “descends” from heaven “returns” or ascends back into heaven. Universal archetypes are “ideals” (perfect) that are drawn into the mind of the soul where they’re blended and modified according to the nature of the soul and used to manifest in the lower planes as a personal creation. In their original state archetypes are “pure and unmixed”, and become an amalgamation when mixed with the consciousness of the individual soul. The experience created by the soul of itself in form is then reabsorbed as experience of itself, where it’s then translated into a metaphorical theme as a memory of the soul. The personal aspect is transformed back into its original universal state as archetypal essence as the memory of the soul that comprises its constitution.

All memories acquired while in a body are synthesized to form a new whole as the soul’s essence. The soul’s essence forms its character and moral summation as it’s “nature”, and is what enters into another body and restructures itself into a new variation based on all the elements used to form a new series of combinations as relationships. The same essence as well developed characteristics formed out of accumulated memory that’s built-up over time, undergoes another transformative process of adaptation and modification that forms a whole new expression of the same essence. Just as the soul structures itself as a “whole reality”, it also restructures and evolves itself from one incarnation to the next. Different genetic factors, living conditions, environment, race, culture, family, and era produces a whole new series of relationships that stimulate us in different ways, developing our personality accordingly.

The soul is in a constant and never ending state of transformation and evolution. It’s fluctuating energetically based on how the inner aspects and qualities interact with those same energies in the outer projection. We’re always acting “on ourselves” in and as everything else. What we perceive as a reality that’s separate from us is actually more of an extension and continuation of our mind and soul as the same idea being played out on different scales. Our outer world is created by our subconscious mind, which is also the group mind shared by all life on Earth. It’s constructed as a “whole mind” rather than a fragmented one, and contains aspects of ourselves that we’re normally unaware of (our shadow), which is why we don’t recognize them as being our own.

The object to life in recognizing our “true identity” as the creator of our reality and life’s story comes by the “inner and outer” becoming a unified whole that we perceive in a fully conscious way. This only comes by forming an awareness of our unconscious aspects, also referred to as our “shadow aspects”. These are the aspects of our self that we judged harshly for some reason, refusing to express them, and denying having them as a result . . . even to ourselves. This renders us unconscious in the most basic sense, because we perceive our shadow nature in our outer world without realizing it. As we form an image of ourselves in a split, fragmented way, as separate from ourselves, we also form our outer reality in the same manner. As we deny and repress our shadow aspects because we’ve judged them to be “bad” or “wrong” to have, we simultaneously begin forming an image of ourselves out of a fragmented state of only owning what we deem to be good, and admirable, forming what’s referred to as our false ego.

Our ego is an illusion of ourselves created out of a fragmented mind. We’re provided with a mirror into our hidden nature through our outer experience of reality, but don’t realize it because we’ve denied having those traits to ourselves, and as a result, don’t have a clear memory of them, so we don’t know they’re ours. We don’t realize that the reason we form a “reaction to them” is because we possess the complementary aspect in its latent state. We bring ourselves back into a harmonious and unified state of equilibrium by learning how to relinquish judgment of ourselves “in” others and harmonize them into our whole being as a result.

We judge the same traits in others to the exact same degree that we judge those same traits in our self, causing us to go unconscious while still projecting those traits onto others. We don’t “give people” those traits, so to speak, but rather perceive the same traits in them and react to them as a result. Once we realize that the outer world is a mirror reflection of the inner world in a whole and unified state, we can use it to self-reflect and follow our judgments back to their root. Once we recognize those same traits in our self and embrace them by harmoniously integrating them into our experience, and finding an appropriate expression for them, we act to heal ourselves and become whole again.

As we experience compassion as understanding of ourselves, our judgment of those same things in others fades away, and it becomes a harmonious part of our whole self and our perception of reality. This is what Jesus was elucidating when he said, “when the outer becomes the same as the inner, and the inner becomes the same as the outer, you’ll have entered the gates of heaven”. What we call heaven is the native plane of the soul where everything exists in a unified state of self-awareness and harmony. Once we identify our outer reality as a reflection and projection of our own mind, we touch on our true identity as a higher divine being that’s acting to create our entire worldly experience as an experience of our self.

All reality is formed as a manifestation of One Source. All reality is formed out of a cosmic seed of spirit that impregnates the individual soul as it also impregnates the soul of humanity as a whole. This is why the spirit is often referred to in masculine terms, and the soul in feminine terms. Reality as we’re capable of knowing it through our perception is the offspring of the soul and spirit. The Trinity is illustrated in mythological terms as the husband and wife, who together produce a child as their offspring. The spirit exists in a purely potential state as an ideal that’s drawn into the soul as a form of “seed”, and gestates it turning it into a “reality” as the combination of both manifested as a material matrix. In order to manifest as a new form, a new seed has to be drawn in through resonance and allowed to incubate as a process of adaptation that shapes it into a modified version that’s harmonious to the soul’s paradigm, where it can be incorporated logically into the whole structure of reality as a natural part of our soul’s perception of itself.

Form as material manifestation is the expression of spirit brought down the planes of density (destiny) by the soul. The spirit is the “ether” as the unified field of intelligence in its potential state that permeates the entire universe, informing it. The human soul is of the Astral Plane of Light and Formation, and the body-template produced through their copulation, forms the etheric double or subtle body, all of which are invisible to the physical senses. In order to work with our physical manifestation, we have to work through our subtle light body which is formed by our mind and spirit. This is what’s being referred to when it’s stated that we have to work by way of the laws that govern the higher planes in order to over-ride and work directly with the material plane. We have to work with the laws governing our mind, which are primarily the laws of mentation, vibration, and polarity, all of which are correspondences of each other.

“17” – The Star, Hope, and Rebuilding after the Destruction of Illusion

In the Hermetic Arcane of the Tarot, the archetypal idea of the “star”, which is Key 17, follows the “the Lightning Struck Tower” (Key 16) which represents the destruction of illusion (Key 15) and is what prompts the “the dark night of the soul” as an identity crisis that comes as the “dissolution of the false ego”. The tower represents the material illusion that’s destroyed by the Light of Truth in a shocking revelation that frees the soul that was imprisoned by its own delusions, providing a clean slate on which a new reality can be built that’s based on higher Truth. Key 17 is represented by the Hebrew letter “TZADDI”, and has a value of 90, and like all spelling and numeric values of archetypal ideas, provides those initiated in the Mysteries with a form of secret code that acts as a set of instructions for how to undergo the process involved in a fully conscious manner.

Each letter in the spelling of the word indicates the Key associated with that letter, and also forms a numeric equation out of the value of the individual letters. This code is designed to help us gain deeper insights into its true meaning. All archetypes and symbols of the Tarot provide us with Keys for interpreting all other systems of Spiritual Sciences through a dynamic series of correspondences. It’s through the intuitive interpretation of the symbolic language that all of the Mysteries are written in that we discover “hidden operations” that provide us with a form of “instruction” for undergoing the process of personal transformation as rising out of the darkness of illusion and into the light of Truth.

The word Tzaddi means “fish hook”, signifying that which draws the fish (Nun) out of the water (Mem). Fish is the symbol of Nun (Key 13) which represents “death” as the process of spiritual transformation, and Mem (Key 12), symbol of the Initiate, represents a complete change in perspective and attitude. Water represents personal existence of the higher Soul as the reflection cast within the subconscious mind. It’s the ocean of subconscious mentality (instinctual plane) that projects the whole of reality as a reflection of the etheric body fashioned on higher planes by the Human Soul. The symbol of a fish represents death as the transformative and regenerative powers of the spirit. This idea symbolizes the “activity” which lifts us up out of the material relations of personal existence by utilizing the reproductive forces of the soul’s regenerative agency.

The fish hook is a symbol of “angling”, which is related to the idea of experimentation, research into new ideas, and the quest undertaken as the means of growing into something more. It’s the quest after that which hasn’t been realized yet, and a form of searching that’s often called “fishing for ideas”. This represents the journey into your own subconscious mind (water) where you investigate what can’t be seen in order to solve enigmas, realize what lies hidden within you, and begin forming new realizations that lead you along a new path for solving a mystery. The value of “90” indicates a 90 degree turn in perspective and how you go about things, where you draw on a higher plane (vertical line) for original ideas instead of the material (horizontal) plane of human activity. 9 is the number of completion as a perfected state (Key 9), which comes by learning how to program your own subconscious mind using your higher mind, represented by Key 18, which proceeds out of Key 17.

The image used to represent this idea shows a beautiful naked woman with golden hair (solar energy), knelled down with one foot on land and the other in a pool of water, holding a vessel in each hand, one gold and one silver, with water pouring out of one into the pool and being drawn back up into the other, in a natural landscape with a tree in the background that has an ibis perched on a branch, and a snowy mountain peak in the background. Overhead is a central 8-pointed star (higher octave) with seven 8-pointed stars surrounding it in a circular pattern (Monad). The ibis in the tree is a scarlet ibis, which is the symbol of Hermes representing higher wisdom. As with all glyphs that serve to communicate higher wisdom, every aspect and detail represents an idea or aspect of the greater whole. Every number, color, symbol, geometric shape, and definition articulated within the arrangement is pertinent in understanding the whole idea as a “process” based on the “relationships” necessary for undergoing the operation indicated by its entire composition. The part is always a direct correspondence to the whole.

Function and Mode of Consciousness

The Function associated with this idea is “meditation” as the unbroken flow of higher knowledge into an “appropriate object”. We tune into and receive higher knowledge from within through the agency of the subconscious mind. All manifestation as perception is produced by the programming of our subconscious, which is the “passive and receptive aspect” of our mind that’s operated by our higher will. This represents the “conception” of ideas into the subconscious that are reflected in our mind and serve as a form of guidance for manifestation as our personal existence. The germinal process of both plants and animals takes place in darkness. This represents the mental unfoldment of ideas that are not already fully developed as the “genesis of ideas”. This is the process of all new inventions and creative manifestations that are unique and novel in nature and don’t come through the reformation of personal memory. This comes as ideas that are mentally “tuned into” and “drawn down” from the higher regions of the “astral plane” (starlight) of cosmic memory.

The Mode of Consciousness represented by 17 is “Natural Intelligence”, which comes as intuition. Natural intelligence comes as the awareness of the “hidden qualities” in all things and is arrived at through an ongoing state of meditation. This is not the type of meditation popularized in Western society, but is referring to a state that’s cultivated on an ongoing basis as a constant connection to our Higher Self as our natural way of being. It comes by quieting the random thoughts that are constantly playing out in your mind based on personal memory, rendering your “thinking” mind passive while connecting to your direct source of higher consciousness, and acting as a circuit for “streaming” higher consciousness to form all of your perceptions. This is the true secret to occult power. All powers can only be developed by intense concentration as a prolonged state of meditation.

Numeric Code of Principles

Like all numeric combinations, the numbers used represent principles that provide us with a code for gaining deeper insights into their meaning. 17 > 1 + 7 = 8. Some only look at the sum as being the meaning, but this is a mistake, because numbers represent relationships. The sum of an equation shows us what principle is represented through the full manifestation of all numbers that comprise it. There’s no such thing as an independent idea, and everything exists as a part of a greater whole and serves to show us its hidden aspects. 8 for example, is the full manifestation of the numbers 1 through 7. Key 8 represents using the higher agency of the human will (Key 7) to tame the lower animal-nature (etheric body) used for casting the shadow of personal existence.

 The number 8 represents the principle of “strength” as the soul’s ability to tame and direct its own animal nature through concentration of will. This represents the secret to transformation comes by using our higher mind to introduce new ideas into our etheric-body, which serves as the energetic matrix for manifestation. We only change our outer world by making the necessary changes to our inner world. All manifestation as personal existence comes “through us” and “by way of us” as our perception. In order to change our experiences we have to reprogram our own subconscious and upgrade our mental paradigm.

Number 1 (Magus) symbolizes directed attention as an undivided form of prolonged concentration. As we concentrate on an idea we connect with it internally and “enter into it” as a stream of consciousness, and lose all awareness of ourselves as being separate from it. As we become an idea in mind and spirit through the faculty of our imagination, it moves us deeper and deeper into its essential nature and we experience it from within it, as it. As we look at it from the inside out, we experience our self in new ways that bring a flow of new insights and realizations that transform our way of being and perceiving. All powers are only developed by “becoming them” in mind and body as a unified whole or singularity. 8 is the number of the octave that forms a greater whole that’s comprised of 7 aspects, which when harmonized form a progression as “steps to a higher level of consciousness” on a higher plane of existence.

The number 7 represents the human will exercised as speech and the spoken word that works to organize light-essence into the form indicated by the meaning of the words. We all call forth our reality by how we think and speak. Sound is comprised of 7 primary notes that make up a whole scale, and directly corresponds to the 7 colors of the spectrum, which together form our sensory reality. Sound is vibration that has both a pattern and an organizing agency in it that serves to shape light into the pattern as a reality. It operates first through the power of the imagination, forming a kind of “metaphorical lens” that we look through in order to reorder the outer reality to be of the same nature and idea as the inner one. As we think, we imagine the reality of our thoughts, and the imaginary reality serves as a form of instruction and command for the subconscious to produce as a corresponding outer experience of the same type and kind. We exercise our will to create our personal existence through our thoughts, which form the basis for our outer speech and all of our activities.

The 8-pointed star overhead is yellow, like the hair of the woman, and signifies cosmic energy, and forms the geometric shape that’s similar to the 8-spoked “wheel of fortune”, symbolic of personal destiny. All of our material creations come by mentally using an actual force which has a definite physical form of expression. 4 + 4 = 8, represents the fact that the same physical form (4) exists on both the upper planes of spirit and the lower plane of material manifestation as correspondences and mirror images of each other that are mediated through the mind. Meditation transmutes and modifies this cosmic energy into a personal expression (7) through “nerve-force”. 8 represents an octave as a whole unit comprised of 7 levels of sound and color as a progression that builds upon itself in order to culminate into a higher vibration. The summation of one octave forms the base note for the next higher octave. This represents the process necessary to raise our vibration to a higher level by reprogramming our subconscious through meditation and concentration on a higher ideal.

The 7 smaller stars that orbit the central one, are white, and refer to the “7 inner stars” of our subtle body (Key 8), which also correspond to the 7 notes of the musical scale, the 7 colors of the spectrum, the 7 planets of the zodiac, and 7 metals of alchemy. Each one represents a level and quality of consciousness. By focusing our attention upon the centers themselves, we stimulate them into an active state. Attention (1) is both a stimulating and organizing force of the will. By meditating on these centers we enter fully into them and gain realization around their hidden nature as aspects of our own subconscious mind. The higher will works through the etheric-double of the subtle organs of the subconscious to instruct, direct, and express through them.

This idea doesn’t represent meditating on things that are already created and fully manifest, but rather meditating on “modes of operation” as qualities of consciousness that also recognizes natural laws as interconnected to the larger whole. 8 symbolize the 7 aspects of God (mental states) that make up a greater whole which can be used as the means for evolving the greater whole to new levels of self-realization. In all Spiritual Sciences, such as the Kabbalah, each sphere represents a “type of experience” as a mental state that’s necessary in order to “enter into” and understand the knowledge it contains. We have to cultivate the proper state of mind in order to be able to vibrate at the frequency necessary to be able to conceive its inner knowledge. All knowledge of the higher planes of the mind is attained through sympathetic resonance. We have to work using our own mind to “become like” whatever it is that we desire to merge into and attain for ourselves.

We can also access higher knowledge as a form of intuitive conception by meditating on symbols and glyphs that arouse activity in corresponding spiritual centers without any danger of energetic congestion. We can concentrate on the archetypes symbolized in the Tarot, the Zodiac, or in Sacred Geometry, which will also act to arouse the energies associated with them in our imagination where they’ll unfold to reveal their hidden secrets to us. This method of accessing hidden knowledge is called “mental angling”, synonymous with “fishing”, where whatever we bait our hook with determines what we intend to attract and ultimately attain. This is the intended use of the Tarot and other universal sciences where symbolic ideas come to life by meditating on them as an operation performed naturally through a “quality of consciousness” as a mental state.

When we remove all attention from what’s already manifest in our life and instead embody the proper state, relinquishing all need to try and control it using preconceived ideas and needs, we’re able to conceive of brand new ideas and truly begin creating our experience of reality from a whole new level of awareness. The Tarot provides the Keys to the liberation of spiritual powers by the same method as the Patanjali Yoga Aphorisms. Beyond their symbolism are practical secrets of occultism which can’t be put into words and can only be known through direct experience (Gnosis).

The snowy mountain peak in the background is the symbol of the “Great Work” of Alchemy which comes through concentration on an ideal, constant striving as a means of self-development, and by cultivating virtues in a devoted manner. The scarlet ibis, symbol of Hermes, and its long bill is a fish hook used for fishing. The tree it’s perched on represents the human brain and nervous system, and symbolizes bringing intellectual activity as thought processes to rest by concentration. We have to stop thinking in order to meditate, and in the silence of our mind, Truth unveils herself to us as a stream of consciousness.

The woman symbolizes Hathor as Mother Nature and is the same woman symbolized in Key 8 (Strength) who tames the lion, symbol of our lower, animal-like nature, by opening its mouth. Meditation is largely the utilization and direction of the powers of deduction and imagination peculiar to the subconscious. Knowledge gained in meditation is gleaned through the imperishable record of the memory of Nature known as the Akashic Records. We render our body and mind as passive and inactive in order to act as a receiver of knowledge that’s currently unknown to us. We create the proper state of mind as the means of “tuning into” the sympathetic quality in the astral field of cosmic memory. We have to let go of our personal memory, which is what generates all of our experiences as the shaping mechanism for reality in order to tap into and absorb new memory that’s universal in nature and provides us with the basis for genesis. Genesis means the “genes of Isis”, which corresponds with Binah of the Kabbalah and the High Priestess of cosmic memory drawn down as the means of seeding the subconscious to produce personal experiences of the same type and kind. Meditation (Key 1) is how we work with our own mind to develop specific powers by directing the animal forces in human personality, symbolized by Key 8.

The pool of water symbolizes universal consciousness as the reservoir of cosmic mind-stuff stirred into vibration by the soul through concentrated attention, represented by the stream flowing from the pitcher in the right hand (projection) that feeds and sustains the pool. The stream blends into the pool of the subconscious where it’s turned into sensory experience and is then drawn back up into the pitcher in the left hand (magnetic) through 5 smaller streams (physical senses) that unite into one as they ascend, representing projection and contraction as a full cycle that flows infinitely, represented by the number 8. This represents the direct modification of the cosmic mindstuff (etheric substance) apart from sensory experience, which also modifies sensation and unfolds higher types of sensory experience.

The right knee is bent at the 90 degree angle of a square, positioned over the pool, and her foot rests on the surface of the water. While her left leg supports her on the ground, her right leg balances her by water. The sensations derived from physical forms are the main support for meditation (grounding) these are balanced by experiences gained directly from the subconscious. All sensory experience is formed out of the ideas that populate the subconscious as memory. The key to all material transmutation lies in utilizing the powers of the subconscious in conceiving new ideas and translating them into sensory realities through the imagination.

The Third Stage of Spiritual Unfoldment

This idea represents the 3rd stage of spiritual unfoldment as the “calm that follows the storm”, depicted by Key 16 as the destruction of ignorance that bind the soul to a prison of its own making, represented by Key 15 of the Devil. It’s the process of rebuilding on a foundation of Truth after the slate has been wiped clean. It sends us on a spiritual quest and search for a higher existence. While stars appear as dim lights when seen from the Earth, they’re actually distant suns whose light illuminates the cosmic soul. Stars are what “guide us” on our search to know ourselves through higher Truth. The angle of the stars in their constellations at the time of our birth charts our soul’s destiny through time.

The 5 rivulets as separate streams of consciousness that form into One represent the microcosm of the human soul and universal consciousness as it flows into and through the path of least resistance. Higher consciousness only flows through us when we vibrate at the same frequency and there’s no longer any resistance. This idea is expressed in the saying, “When we have found the beginning of the way, the star of our soul will shine its light to guide us”, and the Hermetic axiom, “as above so below, and as below so above, in the wondrous workings of the One Thing”.

When the veil of illusion falls away, what will provide the seed for a new reality built of Truth? What source do we draw on when we realize that the world we built out of society and what we were taught by others proves to be false? This symbolizes the idea of no longer taking in ideas from the will of others in the manifest world, and instead aligning your mind with your higher self and acting to draw down the Will of higher consciousness, using it to seed your subconscious in order to give birth to nobility as your souls chosen expression, and transform your outer experiences of life accordingly.

We Only Cultivate Spiritual Powers through Live Experiences

One of the greatest forms of self-delusion that we’re all prone to comes through our natural tendency to create a “false image” of ourselves as we’d “like to be seen” instead of as we truly are. This image starts in childhood and is set into place through our conditioning and how it is that we were judged and how we were taught to judge others in the same manner. While it can be easy for us to build up an idea about ourselves as being this way or that way, denying whatever it is about ourselves we deem unpleasant or unworthy of being loved and admired, we only truly know who we are when things fall apart and events that are somewhat shocking and intense begin playing out all around us, challenging us in the most basic sense by bringing us face-to-face with who we truly are. As the outer world that we built out of our false perceptions about ourselves and the way the world is begins to fall away, so does our ability to pretend. We can say whatever we like, and we can makeup stories about ourselves and how we are all day long, but it’s our actions and how we behave in the most critical moments that truly reveal our character.

All true spiritual knowledge is knowledge of ourselves that’s only attained through self-realization and direct awareness of universal laws and principles as they play out in every aspect of our daily life. Wisdom is cultivated through the practical application of spiritual knowledge as laws to a real life situation, where we actually “attain it” through the realizations it brings. It’s the realizations born out of experience that’s the “actual” knowledge. All knowledge as laws comes “through us” based on how we apply ourselves in those moments, however brief and fleeting, where the illusion fades to the background and we come into direct contact with the true reality of the subtle realm that’s being played out in secrecy and silence. When the “veil of illusion” that normally obscures our perception is raised, we momentarily get a glimpse of the truth that’s contained within it, and that same “truth” is awakened “within us” in response to it. This is because “like always begets and calls forth more of what’s like itself”.

Whatever we come into direct contact with in the outer world gives rise to its polar opposite in our internal world. This is what allows us to come into direct contact with that power so we can work with it deliberately and learn how to utilize it to develop that power into a moral strength as a natural part of our character. What we refer to as “integrating an idea in a way that modifies us” comes through and as “experience”. While the material world attempts to teach us that our souls purpose and means of developing ourselves comes through material ideas of various kinds, such as a house, job, relationship, car, role, position in society, possessions, and so on, in reality it comes as qualities we embody in a consistent fashion as the means of expressing our self. Whatever qualities we use on a regular basis as the means of creating our reality also serve to develop our character according to those qualities.

While we have a tendency to focus almost exclusively on the material reality involved, the outer world is simply a stage where ideas play out that brings us into direct contact with the qualities being expressed “through” that reality. This is because we can only work to develop our character through events and live situations that serve to awaken and bring out those same qualities in us as an experience of ourselves. It’s not the outer world of form that matters, but rather what it causes to come alive within us in response and relationship with it. The outer and the inner are a continuation of each other as an energy-field (greater mind) that takes the same information and organizes it to produce polar opposites of the same thing that serve to “arouse” each other into existence.

The Psychology of Polarity

While we have a tendency to see the world as a dynamic series of separate objects that often seem to exist independent of and unrelated to each other, it’s actually composed of a unified field that’s populated with complementary opposites necessary to create the illusion of both an inner and outer as the basis for creating “experience”. All experience comes as a “whole pattern” or idea comprised of varying degrees of intensity and opposing roles necessary to act it out. It’s only in moments of intense fear that we also come into direct contact with courage. It’s in situations that provoke a strong moral judgment that we also have access to compassion as understanding and relating. It’s in the moments when we feel the most insecure that we also gain access to our personal power in being able to remedy it.

A life that goes unchallenged goes unlived. We only grow in life when we’re being challenged in a way that causes us to willfully employ our higher capacities for transformation. Happiness is not something we attain outside of us through a situation, it’s something we cultivate within us by how we develop ourselves morally in relationship with life outside of us. The moments that bring us into contact with a weakness, allowing us to form realizations around it, is what also provides us with the basis as an opportunity to transform it into a strength by how we work “on ourselves” to change ourselves. All vibration as a state of mind is modified through employing the principle of Polarity, because the movement between opposite poles is what causes vibration.

Weakness and strength exist in polarity to each other as complementary opposites, and one is used as the means of working with the other, because proportionately they’re diametrically the same. When we’re feeling afraid due to something that happening outside of us or to us, we have a choice as to whether we’re going to be a coward and be overcome by it, or employ bravery in rising to meet it with a sense of confidence in our ability to overcome it. In every moment we exist in relationship with our self in everything else and make all of our decisions based on asking ourselves one fundamental question, and that is “who am I going to be in relationship with this”. Even when this doesn’t come as an actual question, it comes as a feeling inside of us that sets an entire conversation with ourselves into motion as a decision making process.

Life is a School that provides us with the Opportunity for facilitating our Own Growth

When we acquire knowledge in theoretical form, either by reading and contemplating, or through a teacher and instruction, it simply provides us with the basis for applying through experimentation. As we apply it in some manner, we produce reality as consequences that bring realizations around its true nature, which allow us to make constant adjustments until the inner and outer result in the same thing. If the inner can’t be demonstrated in the outer, then we need to reevaluate it in order to find where our errors are. Each time we make modifications based on realizations that come from practicing, we shape the theory that gave us the initial template into a personalized version that we can then develop as a form of self-mastery. Not mastery over others, but mastery over ourselves and our ability to self-regulate and create in an intentional manner.  

Once we really understand this, we can learn to not only perceive all things in a different light, but also see them as the true opportunity that they are for developing ourselves by way of them through the experience they afford us. Events and situations of an intense nature bring us face-to-face with our true nature, allowing us to see the aspects alive inside of us that we can’t readily see in normal circumstances. Many feelings remain latent within us until they’re awakened by outside activity. The outer world is always providing us with an absolute mirror into our inner world. Whatever we profess a belief in as a faint-hearted idea about ourselves and who we are, dissolves instantly in the light of truth. Life provides the stage necessary to play out the dramas needed to develop specific traits in us.

Transforming Weaknesses into Strengths

All ideas are whole and complete in nature and contain the potential for expression through polar opposites that are complementary in nature. The illusion of separation is necessary in order to create experience. What this means is that what we perceive as an outer and feel as an inner, act “on each other” to stimulate each other into existence as a joint reality. One aspect of a whole equation only exists in direct relationship with the opposite aspect of the same equation. They need each other as the means of defining themselves in relation and by contrast to each other. If we create a scale by drawing a horizontal line that’s a few inches long, and put fear on one side and courage on the other, with a series of gradual steps or degrees in the space between them, we can create a mental model of the process involved in transforming one into the other. In order to transform fear, which is a weakness, we have to choose to employ courage in its place in the moment when it’s happening.

In order to develop courage, we have to be in situations where we naturally feel afraid. As we feel the fear well-up inside of us with intensity, we can use our will as self-awareness to subdue and tame it, while evaluating it with a rational and non-reactive mind. Once we realize that it’s not a warning of an actual danger or immediate threat, we can decide to respond in a way that employs a sense of courage in its place. As we move into it with a sense of courage, the fearful feeling either immediately begins subsiding, or turns into a feeling of excitement and exhilaration, while also fostering and giving rise to a feeling of confidence. In this way, we dissolve the feeling of fear and transform it into one of power.

As we do this repeatedly we begin moving from one side of the scale towards the center of the scale. All transformation comes from “accumulating experiences” that are built-up through consistent steps. As we produce more and more experiences of being courageous we steadily move along the scale towards the opposite. We begin producing more and more memories of ourselves that change how we feel and naturally respond to things. The ideal isn’t one extreme or the other, but comes rather by balancing them in a harmonious state of equilibrium, where both come as a decision we make through a balanced state of mind, and then act out intentionally. The ultimate goal from a spiritual perspective is to be able to manage all of our emotions in order to be able to utilize them as tools for creating rather than allowing them to create us. It’s always a question of who’s in charge, you or your emotions, and acting to direct the situation.

When we learn how to see any situation or event that causes a strong emotional reaction as an opportunity for transforming ourselves by way of them, we learn how to value what is otherwise stressful and challenging situations that only serve to foster and give life to our weaknesses. When we allow our emotions to run away with us, we lend our will to our weaknesses and live a life of fantasy born out of hysteria as a result.  While we can picture ourselves as being brave in the midst of nerve-racking situations that normally freak us out, it’s only when we actually experience it that we have the opportunity to work with the fear and transform it in a deliberate manner. It’s only in the moments that we’re challenged to our depths that we not only get to see what we’re made of, but also have the ability to willfully create ourselves in a much more deliberate and precise manner by being able to take control of our innate ability to create our own experiences. We only transform the outer world by working first to transform the inner world that’s producing it as a mirror image.

How we Create Ourselves through our Life Experiences

Once we gain a fundamental understanding of how consciousness as an energetic flow works, we can acquire the self-awareness necessary to create in a much more meaningful way. The principle represented in Sacred Geometry by the Monad is the toroidal energy system that operates within the material world as an electromagnetic field that functions through the principle of metabolism and assimilation. There’s no such thing as universal principles that only operate on some levels, or within a certain set of circumstances or species. This is a universal law, which means it’s a fundamental part and function of every single living system from the subatomic world to the cosmic world. Once we understand this “parental law” of invisible, intelligent forces, called spirit, soul, and mind, we have the “keys” necessary for consciously participating in our own creation from a semi-conscious and self-aware state.

The first perception we need to fully embrace and realize by conceptualizing it as a working model is the fact that we are energetic beings in the most basic sense. Our soul and mind is completely invisible and not material in nature, and is what organizes and designs the material world as the means of creating our “self” as a material being. The mind and soul is fundamentally the same thing, and perform different functions in creating a unified experience of “itself”, not just as a body and specific personality, but also the reality of the self that provides the basis for “experiencing” itself. The relationship between the mind and soul correspond to the relationship between the self-conscious and subconscious aspects of the mind, and the right and left hemispheres of the brain. They form different functions in creating and animating the same thing.

Polarity is also a universal (fundamental) principle that operates synergistically on all levels of both the created world and the world of unformed potential, and is necessary in order to “create”. This polar relationship as complementary opposites of the same thing is demonstrated on every level of both the created and potential realm. The upper planes of reality, commonly referred to as spiritual, heaven, and God, are “creators”, and the lower plane of the material reality is “the created”. When we step into our true identity as divine spiritual beings we move from perceiving ourselves as a product of others and our life circumstances to being the one that’s doing the creating and always in the process of creating our “self” by how we utilize the conscious energy system of our mind guided by the sovereignty of our higher soul.

Our mind (Monad) is represented as an “invisible center” that expands and radiates out quite some distance from the center to produce a “sphere” (circle). The mind is often referred to as a “sphere of consciousness” that’s the “essence” of our soul as our “character”. Our soul is comprised of essence as “memory” that we formed from all of our life experiences. The Soul is actually self-creating, self-perpetuating, and self-sustaining as a higher divine being. Our body and the life of our body is the result of our own creation that we design and inhabit as a way of creating experiences of ourselves that we use to acquire and “build-up” certain types of memory as the expression of certain character traits. Whatever qualities and characteristics we “choose to embody and become”, determines what we create through the perception it forms and the behaviors that naturally ensue from it.

Our character forms all of our activities and behaviors and determines what type of things we naturally resonate with and engage in as our “deeds”. As we maintain a certain “state of mind” as our normal and consistent way of being, we’re constantly acting to generate and produce the corresponding reality of our state through our perception and how we think about things, while unconsciously employing the behaviors that “cause it”. Our state-of-mind as our mood “is” our vibratory frequency and has a pattern inherent in it along with a life-force energy that acts as an ordering mechanism, making it “causal” in nature. As we act to cause a certain type of event or activity to take place based on how we interact with everything around us energetically, producing a corresponding (like) effect of the same kind, and we then “absorb” the effect we created as our experience and shape it into a memory of our “self” and the “way life is”.

As we absorb and integrate our experience as an effect that we caused, it then becomes “causal” and produces our “internal model” as an equivalent effect. What we perceive as “complementary opposites” is actually formed out of extreme aspects of the same thing which, at some point, transform into each other. The electrical force that projects outward while still maintaining the magnetic aspect in a latent state, then undergoes a shift in state, and turns in a cyclical movement and becomes magnetic, returning to the center that it initially rose out of. All energy, which is the same thing as consciousness, appears to be dual or polar in nature, when it’s actually a single power that moves between two poles or boundaries as a “range of vibration” that forms a frequency. An easy way to understand this is to look at the extremes of “hot and cold”, which are really different degrees as temperatures of the same thing. By changing the temperature of a substance it both expands and dissipates becoming more subtle or it contracts and concentrates becoming dense and solid. Though we perceive electromagnetism as two different forces that produce different effects, it’s actually the “same force” in different states that perform different functions in organizing and constructing of the same thing. 

In order to truly grasp this concept we have to step fully into our identity and role as the “creator” of our life, rather than seeing ourselves as being created “by life”. We can’t get caught up in the content of what’s taking place and why, and instead step back and observe the actual process that’s taking place as an energetic expression and flow of consciousness. We’re not the content itself that makes up our reality, but the soul that’s “producing a reality” out of the content. We are the “causal force” in our own life creating experiences of our self as the means of knowing our self. We can only gain knowledge through experience. Anytime we use universal principles to form imaginary concepts, we gain a practical understanding of what’s actually operating just below the surface of outer appearances. The outer world of appearances is what’s commonly referred to as an “illusion” because it’s different for everyone perceiving them. We have a prevalent tendency to get caught up in the illusion of things and completely miss what’s really going on and what it is we’re doing from the subliminal energetic level of our mind.

This is the same thing we have a tendency to do when we meditate and we get caught up in the habitual thoughts themselves instead of recognizing the mind that’s giving rise to the thoughts and turning them into an imaginary reality. We usually get caught up in the nature of the interaction as a means of justifying our own actions in reaction to another, instead of realizing the actual process taking place. Anyone who has a tendency to be “reactive” is locked into the illusion of identifying with their lower nature as “being created” by others, instead of seeing themselves as the one who is creating themselves “through” the events of their life. However we position ourselves in our own life forms the basis for all of our decisions, whether they’re made unconsciously in an automated fashion or with full awareness in a deliberate and intentional manner.

Visualizing the Law of the Monad

The Monad is represented by a dot (invisible center) within a circle, in the same way it would be drawn using a compass. This geometric structure represents the idea that the outer circle is produced as the expansion and emanation of the center. The center is what we can think of as the “self” as the soul and personality housed within the body as the “mind” that produces its own reality as an expression that creates an experience of itself as a whole outer reality. The “sphere” represents reality as a dimension created by the soul through the matrix of the mind. What’s commonly referred to as “the fall” of man from a higher plane to the lower plane of formation, comes by moving into the plane of “knowledge”. We can only “know” anything (including ourselves) through “experience”. All knowledge is only acquired (integrated into our existing paradigm to update it) through direct experience that brings deeper realizations. We are all creative beings acquiring knowledge of ourselves through our ability to create our own experiences of our self.

Picture yourself as your mind which is a field of subtle energy that’s not only anchored to your body as it’s center or core, but also exists quite some distance away from you out into your environment. This is what’s called a “torus”, which is a living sphere of organized memory that’s subtle and electromagnetic in nature. It moves and circulates as a self-sustaining system that vibrates at a certain frequency. It’s electrical (masculine) properties expand and project outward quite some distance away from your body and then folds back on itself, contracting in a cyclical movement, and is drawn back into your body where it circulates around the axis of the subtle body and spinal column, as an “alternating current”, before being projected and transmitted outward again. The mind, which is represented by the element of “air” as the atmosphere, breathes and circulates energy as a means of feeding, sustaining, and transforming itself.

As the “electrical energy” of our vibration moves out and away from us and into our immediate environment, it acts to stimulate and awaken and bring out in an active state whatever is of the same nature (frequency) as we are. As it activates corresponding energy as qualities and traits by causing them to vibrate (resonate), they actively express to create a joint experience of the reality produced by the shared qualities. We then draw the energy back in and absorb it as our experience and integrate it into our center (paradigm) as “memory of our self”. As we create the reality of our consciousness by vibrating it, we gain a “sense of ourselves” through it, and identify with our own experiences, creating our self by way of them. Whatever energy we cultivate and put out as the means of creating our experiences, we draw back in and become in “essence”. This is represented by the golden rule which states “do unto others what you would have them do unto you”, because whatever it is you’re “doing” you’re actually doing to yourself. There’s really only one of us doing the actual creating.

Creating with Conscious Awareness

The Monad is considered the “parent principle” out of which all others systematically arise as a form of growth and development. Our state of mind is comprised of the qualities that make up our character and form our energetic frequency. The Law of Vibration, like the mind and soul which gives rise to it, is also 3-fold in nature as working principles that perform different functions in producing and maintaining the same thing. These principles are resonance, sympathetic induction, and coherence. We activate qualities in everything else by resonating with them, and “entering into them” becoming one with them energetically as the same quality, and begin vibrating in harmony with them by forming a joint reality as a co-creation formed out of the same character as shared qualities.

By subliminally entering into the energy field of another and influencing their vibration to match ours, we form a shared experience by cooperatively expressing the same qualities, and we form a new variation (specialized pattern) as a unique expression of the same kind. We then simultaneously draw the experience created back into our mind where it’s integrated and assimilated to update and modify our current memory, diversifying and expanding our range of expression to include it. We “build ourselves” through our own creations and what type of qualities we build into strengths (habits) as accumulated memory. Whatever qualities we embody as our mood is the ones we’re selecting and using to create ourselves with. We create ourselves through others and our various life circumstances and situations. Whatever state as an attitude and set of correlated behaviors we employ on a consistent basis, we develop as a natural part of our character, and it becomes an energetic part of our soul’s constitution. Our soul as our character is eternal in nature and is what transcends the personality of the body at death while forming the basis of our next life as a continuation within a new personality, set of relationships, and life conditions.

Once we understand this principle in practical terms we’re given the means for developing our “self” in a very deliberate way. Whatever qualities we strengthen and utilize in creating our life shapes our character as memories of our self-soul. Our character is determines how we think, feel, perceive, emote, and behave, and what type of life experiences we create as a result. Our life is created as the emanation of our character. While we’re all initially shaped by our conditioning to be a certain way (re-establish the preexisting condition as karma), we can take over our own creation as adults by deciding who we want to be and acquiring the skills for developing our own character by working with our own mental and emotional state. By cultivating the proper state of mind in a consistent fashion, we determine what qualities and traits we bring out in others and use as the means for creating our reality. This is why embodying certain qualities and ways of being are the central focus of all spiritual development and self-mastery. Our spiritual path as our life’s journey is how we shape ourselves consciously by stepping into our true identity as a divine being of a higher moral intelligence.

The Spiritual Path of Reverence

By embodying a feeling of reverence as our normal mental state (vibration), we “look through the eyes of reverence”, and connect with, and see in everything else only what “warrants” reverence. We have to embody and become one with whatever quality as a state of mind we want to use as the means of creating ourselves with through our perception of that same quality in everything else. Whatever we perceive in another we act to bring out in them. When we cultivate an attitude of only looking for and seeing what fills us with feelings of adoration, admiration, respect, and honor, we act as a catalyst for bringing those qualities out in everyone else while developing them in ourselves through the interaction that takes place.

As we create a reality as the expression of those qualities, we experience ourselves through those same qualities, while increasing and amplifying them, and we draw the experience back into our self where it’s integrated to alter our vibration as a memory of our self. By actively choosing which qualities and character traits to embody and use as the means of expressing through, we produce, multiply, accumulate, and buildup memories of that kind. We only transform ourselves through a process of accumulating memories that counteract and counterbalance other ones. Accumulated memories not only transform us internally, but also change how we act and live, and the type of story we tell with our life by how we conduct ourselves and the nature of our relationships.

All patterns are comprised of attributes and qualities that form characteristics which determine the form something takes on and how it functions and behaves as a result. By intentionally embodying the qualities we want to use in order to shape our character, we become the vessel for those qualities to express and create in the world. If we consistently maintain a feeling of inadequacy and inferiority, then we unknowingly display the feeling and behaviors that bring out those same feelings in everyone else, and we give our life-force to propagating more and more of the same feelings and eventually strengthen them into our life theme. If we’re judgmental and criticizing, then we act as a protagonist for bringing out in everyone else whatever there is to criticize, and we not only strengthen those traits in them, but in ourselves as well. “Cause” always produces an “effect” of an equal or greater nature. Cause is our energy flowing out into the world and onto others to produce an effect in them of the same kind, and we draw the effect as an experience back into us where we internalize and process it by harmoniously integrating it to form our “soul’s essence”.

We all have the ability to determine and regulate our own state of mind and develop our character in a deliberate and precise manner. All we have to do is decide to stay awake and aware in the present moment while recognizing what our mood and attitude is like, then deciding what we want it to be as the means of creating our life experiences in that moment. Once we consciously choose and intentionally embody the quality we desire to have more of, we act to regulate our own vibratory frequency.

As we maintain an awareness of our mood throughout the day, we can make whatever adjustments we need to whenever we realize we’ve lost our focus, become reactive or caught up in habitual thoughts, get distracted with meaningless things, and we can become the captain of our own ship. We can cultivate skill in becoming self-directed and self-determined. As we walk through life with a certain attitude and frame of mind we can notice how we affect people and influence situations, and how it is that we can act to shift their mood to match ours, and what type of interaction we produce as a result. We can become the leader in any situation we’re a part of, instead of being led through the mood of others and what seems like the random events of our life.   

As we produce an experience, we can become aware of how it makes us feel about ourselves, and how our life changes as a result. Embodying new qualities and ways of being may feel awkward at first, like anything that we’re not used to does, but the more we practice being that way the easier it gets and the more natural it becomes. If we practice regulating our state of mind consistently for a three to six week period, it becomes natural and we begin doing it in an automatic fashion. Once a quality and character trait becomes a natural part of our being, we no longer have to try or apply effort and discipline in order to maintain it. Once we’ve successfully integrated one quality to shape our character in an intentional manner, we can choose another one and continue to develop ourselves in whatever way we desire and become the type of person we admire and hold in high esteem.

The Art of Introspection – Self-Knowledge, Awareness, and Tools for Transformation

The cornerstone of all spiritual growth and psychological healing comes through the motto “know thyself” as attaining deeper forms of self-awareness that brings realization and insights into your true nature and why your life is the way it is. The whole basis of healing in the psychological sense comes naturally when we bring what’s working to create in our lives at an unconscious level into the light of awareness and we “own it” instead of denying or attempting to somehow justify or glorify it. To be empowered in your own life only comes through gaining knowledge of yourself in terms of both your conscious and unconscious tendencies and the success or failing that result from them. The only thing we truly have the power to change in our life is ourselves. All transformation comes only by way of self-awareness that brings deeper realizations around how it is that we have created ourselves and our life to be the way it is.

Many of us spend our whole life focused primarily on other people and what it is we imagine they’re “doing to us”, instead of forming awareness around ourselves, our own characteristics, and what part it is we play in co-creating our own life experiences. Like all ideas this one exists as a form of paradox born and maintained out of a sense of separation and detachment from our own power to create in our life. We can spend the better part of our life trying to figure out how to “change others” or by forming the perception that others are the ones responsible for why we’re the way we are and why our life has formed the way it has without realizing that both our “self” and our “life” are virtually the same thing, and in order to change one we have to work by way of the other.

This idea is compounded further by the idea of what it means to be “selfish” as opposed to “selfless”, and that our “faults” and “weaknesses” are something that’s usually pointed out by others, or is only known through the opinion of others. In our modern day society we’ve made the idea of “self-perfection” out to be a dirty word because we base it on a form of judgment that’s imposed on us by others as their perception of us, rather than on our own ability to observe and closely examine our own tendencies in any situation. One of the key practices in life comes through our ability to determine our own faults and destructive tendencies and then take the measures necessary to correct ourselves.

The idea of “self-perfection” comes by whatever we deem to be the best version of ourselves and then commit to achieving by transforming our weaknesses into strengths. It comes by consciously acting to develop ourselves to be the best we can be. We take responsibility for ourselves instead of blaming our self-destructive tendencies on others. We form an “ideal” for our own development then undergo the process of self-transformation from a semi-unconscious state of being to a primarily conscious and aware state of being. Perfection comes through consistent growth and by developing ourselves in an intentional way in order to create the type of experiences we want to have. It’s only by fully recognizing our own faults that we have the foundation necessary for using our higher powers of choice, will, and realization in order to transform them into our best traits.

All of what we call “higher knowledge” comes as comprehension of Universal Laws to the extent of being able to apply them at the practical level in order to heal and step into our power as our own creator. All Universal Laws (of mind and spirit) form a direct correspondence and work harmoniously to create within the material world through Natural Laws. When we work by way of law, we create in what seems like an effortless manner as a synchronized flow of correlated events, and when we fail to understand and work by way of law, we counteract ourselves and create a constant feeling of hardship and self-sabotage. The material world only serves as a “stage” for us to create ourselves by how we enter into relationship with it. It’s a form of school where we can practice our ability to create until we can do it in an accurate and consistent way.

Introspection and Objective Self-Observation

The most primary law there is, the one that everything else is based on and rises naturally out of as a growth process, is what’s called the “all in One” Law, or in Sacred Geometry the Law of the Monad. This law basically demonstrates that all of reality is a unified whole, and that the “self” and the “reality of the self” are actually the same thing. One systematically produces the other, and vice versa. What we perceive as a separation between our self and another is actually a very fundamental illusion that deceives us in the most basic sense of the idea. It’s “who we are” in terms of “how we’re being” that determines how we “perceive” ourselves in relation to and comparison with others. Our outer perception of others and the world and our perception of our self are complementary opposites of each other and provide us with a mirror into the hidden aspects of our soul. Our outer reality only changes as a direct reflection of our inner self. As we change internally, our life changes to the exact same degree.

One of the most valuable and fundamental spiritual practices there are is the practice of self-observation and the objective examination of our own characteristics and the tendencies that result from them. We have to cultivate the ability to look inward in all situations in order to see what our own characteristics and behaviors are, and how it is that they serve to influence and actively create in the situation. We take an attitude of observing any situation in a way that allows us to see and form realizations around our own negative and destructive characteristics.

As we gain realization into our own unconscious behaviors and what they cause, it’s important to record them in a diary or notebook, because like all realizations that come through a form of meditation and introspection, they’re fleeting and you may not be able to remember them later. Awareness is the key to transformation, and the more defined our awareness is around something, the more immediate and powerful the transformation is. As you write down realizations about yourself in the moment when they’re happening, you record them so you can continue to reflect on them later. As you begin writing and defining them with detailed descriptions the deeper you go and the more pronounced your realizations become. As you define your character flaws and weaknesses in order to gain clarity around them, you simultaneously transform them through the realizations they bring.

This diary or personal notebook is your own to use and you should never, under any circumstances show or discuss it with anyone else. This is your own private tool for developing yourself. The only thing that goes in it is your own ideas for yourself. All self-development and healing is something we do to and for ourselves. These observations about your own character provide you with the knowledge you need in order to begin healing your own unproductive tendencies and develop your weaknesses into strengths. The foundation for self-mastery comes through self-control and your intrinsic ability to discipline yourself in order to implement new ways of being and create in new ways as a result.

The art of objective self-observation requires you to be frank and honest with yourself in realizing your poor character traits, moral weaknesses, shortcomings, habits, failings, passions, and compulsive urges. You’re not engaging in “criticizing” yourself because of them, but simply opening your mind to honest self-evaluation and recognizing your part in creating the events of your own life. You have to resist the urge to justify your right to be that way, or to try and glorify your failings and shortcomings somehow by the story you tell yourself about them. You remove your focus completely from what other people are saying or doing that’s causing you to be the way you are, and place all of your attention on what’s happening inside of you, what characteristics are brought out in you, and how you behave as a result. You refrain from the natural tendency to build an illusion around whatever it is you don’t want to see about yourself, and witness your life without attachments of any kind.

Practice

To start this process, relax in a private environment and reflect back on yourself in different situations that didn’t go very well or that caused you pain and suffering somehow, and simply contemplate them. Replay what happened while focusing inward on how it made you feel and how you became as a result. How were you influenced by another person’s behavior towards you? Ask yourself what your part was in creating it? What role did you play in producing whatever resulted? What did the situation act to bring out in you that caused you to react the way you did? Analyze the experience by replaying how it happened in a step-by-step way while only focusing on “you” and what part you played in co-creating the outcome. Make detailed notes on all of your own errors, inappropriate behavior, and shortcomings, while continuously resisting the need to explain and justify your right to be that way by making it the other person’s fault. Make notes of even the smallest and most insignificant details in order to see yourself clearly.

As you make notes, meditate deeply on them as a means of penetrating deeply into your own soul. Realization is the most primary way we have of “transforming” things. All healing in the psychological sense comes through self-awareness that brings self-realization as to your own character. Constant self-observation and evaluation is the most important part of self-development. This is the most important step in preparing for initiation, achieving inner balance, and engaging willfully in the process of ascension. As we realize and resolve our own character flaws and destructive tendencies, we make a constant ascent towards a higher level of consciousness, and master our ability to create.

You can review any past event that had a strong impact on you or served as a turning point in your life, as well as how relationships were established and evolved through the course of time. You can also form a daily practice where at the end of every day, you sit quietly and reflect back on the main events of the day, and review how things transpired and turned out, and what your part was in co-creating them. You can examine your own attitude and behavior to see what was productive and went the way you wanted it to, and what didn’t. As you examine your own behavior, you can realize where your flaws were and actively choose what you would have liked to have done instead.

As you realize what you could have done differently to produce a more desirable outcome, you can replay the event in your mind while employing different qualities and behaviors. You can change the event in your mind by changing your own part in it. As you “correct yourself” and replay the same situation in a different way while behaving differently, you act to give yourself a “new pattern” to use in all future situations of a similar nature. This way, whenever the same type of situation occurs in the future, you have a well thought out idea on how to respond in a much more purposeful manner. Once you get good at this, you can practice it throughout the day when you have time to relax and reflect, and learn how to identify all your flaws and what it is that causes you to do them.

Identifying Severity of Destructive Tendencies

Another thing you can do is evaluate the extent of the problems these character flaws cause in your life. Some attitudes and behaviors are much more destructive and counterproductive than others, and these need to be identified for what they are and corrected as quickly as possible. One of the ways you can do this is to divide the character flaws into three categories in terms of the type of problems they cause. This will give you an idea of which ones cause the greatest problems and are outright destructive, and which ones are minor and somewhat irritating.

3 Levels of Bad Character Traits:

  • High – negative characteristics that influence you the most, happen frequently or are intense and super dramatic, and tend to cause the greatest problems.
  • Medium – ones that occur less frequently and have less influence and produce minor problems.
  • Low – ones that only occur occasionally and has minimal influence in our life.

This process will help you to become self-aware of your own character flaws and what it is about your behavior that causes you to fail in achieving what you desire to create, and in what ways it is that you act within your own life in a destructive and unconscious manner. You may want to practice it intensely for a couple of weeks, and then periodically as new realizations arise and become apparent.

In the same way you record all of your character flaws and shortcomings, you also want to record all of your positive characteristics and strong points. Reflect on and gain detailed awareness of your good character traits, high morality, and situations where you created just what you wanted to. In this way you can gain detailed information around what it is that you’re doing that both works and doesn’t work. You can realize your own faults and act on yourself to correct them in whatever way you want. “15” – The Devil: Overcoming Weaknesses, Material Attachments, and Transcending Illusion

In all forms of Esoteric Sciences ideas are communicated in the universal language of Archetypes, numbers, and symbols. We’re given a grand formula as a composite image or idea that must be intuitively interpreted in order for its hidden knowledge to be apprehended. All actual learning takes place through our subconscious where we impregnate ourselves with a seeded idea that gestates and not only unfolds spontaneously in the imagination as a whole idea or process, but continues to unfold over an extended period of time, bringing us deeper and more relevant insights into the same idea. We know we’ve apprehended the knowledge inherent in an idea when we can relate to it in the activities of our everyday life, and when it becomes an inherent part of our outer reality as our “perception”. Once an idea becomes fully integrated into our mental paradigm, it becomes a fundamental part of our material matrix as the substrate that gives rise to it, holds it together in a cohesive manner, and animates it through a form of cosmic relationship.

All Archetypes represent principles that are a natural part of our cosmic consciousness. This archetypal principle, like the pentagram which is a key component of it, is probably one of the most misunderstood and misinterpreted ones there are. This is perhaps due to the fact that the image used to represent it tends to elicit a sense of fear, apprehension, and disgust. This reaction is usually due to how it’s been grossly misinterpreted through Christian allegory. Christians perverted the idea represented by the god “Pan” as being witches that worshiped Nature and stole, sacrificed and ate children. This interpretation was formulated as a means of using fear to control by creating “illusions” that caused “panic”. If we look at each aspect combined to produce this composite image, we can not only gain a better understanding of what it’s showing us about our own nature, but we can also attain the “process” necessary in order to work with it in an intelligent manner. As with all archetypal images we want to look at the general overall composition while also identifying the “Keys” that reveal the laws involved.

The number 15 is represented in the Tarot by the archetype of the “Devil”, which is also the mythological god “Pan”. The basic composition is similar to those of Key 5, 6, 7, 14, and 19, which show a larger figure, usually of a divine nature (angel or priest) overseeing and governing 2 smaller beings that are male and female as a couple. This composition forms a “triangle” and naturally represents the higher-self or mind, working directly through the two aspects of the subconscious (female) and self-conscious (male) that manifest within the lower plane of materialism. In this depiction the divine principle is the “devil” presiding over a couple who are chained to a treasure chest of gold coins. Their chains are loose and can be easily removed, but they either don’t realize they can remove them, or they don’t want to remove them.

Pan-devil, ruled by Capricorn, is shown as half goat and half man, representing our lower, animal nature which is instinctively driven through emotional impulses and primal urges. The goat aspect of this character is the “lower half” that’s below the belly button and governs the lower body of sexuality, union, and reproduction. Only humans have belly buttons, and it signifies man inhabiting an animal body. The devil is symbolized by the Hebrew letter “Ayin”, and the letter “O”. It’s ruled by Saturn in Capricorn, where Mars is exalted. This image is the “polar opposite” of the one shown in Key 14, which it proceeds out of as a natural progression of what’s necessary in order to “change our vibration” as the means of “ascending” in spirit to higher dimensions. 15 lays the foundation for 16 to naturally emerge as a consequence, which represents being liberated from our own self-imposed material bondage.

The “sense” associated with the devil is “sight”, the most important sense of all in perceiving reality, and the one we’re most easily “deceived” by. Through sight we see appearances alone. Forming a visual image produces sensation, and the “eye” is used to represent “sensation” just as the “lion” serves to represent all “subhuman modes of life expression”. When we see appearances only we reside in the limitations of the visible world as a form of ignorance that forms spiritual bondage. Ignorance comes when we accept these limitations as being all there is. The most predominant form of sexual seduction as enticement comes through visual stimulation that causes arousal as heightened sensation. The most basic form of ignorance comes from believing what’s being presented, which forms our limitations and bondage to the world of illusions. When we remain ignorant of our true self we gladly succumb to the limitations being imposed on us by our lower self.

This idea represents indulgences that cause incongruity as weaknesses, character flaws, and shortcomings. The mental state associated with Ayin is “mirth”, which indicates merriment, laughter, and celebrating. It represents that which beguiles us through a state of enchantment. Laughter is a prophylactic and acts to purify the subconscious by dissolving mental complexes and internal conflicts. Laughter is a form of medicine that clears tension from the body caused by repressed emotions.

In the Metatron Cube of Space, 15 is the line at the lowest level as “west-below”, and connects NW (Key 11) with SW (Key 13), and South-below (Key 18) with North-below (Key 9). This provides us with further insight as a formula for understanding the faculties involved and the processes necessary to employ in working intelligently with them. Key 11 = Karma (universal justice); Key 13 = death (transformation); Key 18 = Moon (subconscious); and Key 9 = Completion and perfection. Key 15 also corresponds to Key 2 “below”, and Key 10 “West” as the “center axis” of the cube, representing the soul’s memory (2) as a cycle of creation (10). We’re initially programmed (conditioned) through an unconscious state that lays the groundwork out of which we continue creating ourselves in an unconscious manner throughout our life.

The number “15” gives us a primary formula of the laws involved and is calculated as 1 + 5 = 6. 1 represents focused attention (will), 5 = mind over matter as our connection with our Higher Self, and 6 (Lovers) as the intimate union of the subconscious with the self-conscious orchestrated by our Higher Self (Guardian Angel). The devil is shown with an inverted pentagram over his forehead (third-eye), which symbolizes the higher mind being controlled by the 4 Elements of material reality where it resides on a level that’s subhuman and instinctual. We experience incongruity, a lack of integrity, and internal conflict whenever our self-conscious stands in opposition of our subconscious, and we create in an inconsistent manner controlled by our passions, impulses, and sexual desires (addictions).

Capricorn is a cardinal earthy sign that governs the knees, which we’re brought to in crisis and kneel on to pray. We’re brought to our knees through our sense of bondage and personal insufficiency, and become subservient to our material existence. When we become identified with our personal possessions they act to determine us. All bondage comes from our failure to realize that we are meant to “rule Nature”, rather than being “ruled by it”. This idea represents our attachments to materialism produced by weaknesses and addictive tendencies that shape our morality to be “animal-like” and easily deceived and led astray through pleasure of various kinds. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, symbolized by Key 16, which follows sequentially, represented by the “lightning struck tower”, which destroys the form that holds us captive under the guise of safety and security. It’s our castle, title, and possessions that form our prison and bonds us to the lower planes of spiritual degradation. Whatever we “identify with”, we become one with in spirit and use as the means of creating experiences of ourselves.

 The mode of consciousness assigned to it is “Renewing Intelligence” as regeneration necessary in order to birth ourselves anew from a fully conscious and purified state that results from stepping back into our “identity” as a “divine being”. It’s through incongruities in our character that we unconsciously destroy what we’ve built. An incongruity is something that doesn’t fit and can also bring forth new ideas as adaptations (5). When we find a fact that doesn’t fit with our beliefs, we’re required to revise them to include the new information, upgrading them as a result. Whenever we let go of our attachment to things, we go through a period where we need to make adjustments and develop ourselves in new ways.

The icon of the Devil represents our “adversary” and that which refers to the ideas that relentlessly oppose our struggle for freedom. It’s our lower nature governing and utilizing the power of our higher nature in creating our soul and determining our destiny as a higher soul. It personifies the “serpent power” represented in Teth, Key 8, called “Strength”, which is the higher soul’s ability to tame the serpent power and use it for the motivating force of higher ideals. It’s the serpent of temptation that tempted Eve (subconscious), called Nachash (NchSh), whose letters translate into the numbers N = 50; Ch = 8, Sh = 300, for a total of 358 ( which equals 16 = 7), the same value as MShICh – 40 + 300 + 10 + 8 = 358, meaning the Messiah. This gives us a subtle correspondence of its meaning. It’s through temptation that we recognize our weaknesses, and are able to overcome them using Strength, and redeem ourselves as a result. The Devil is actually an aspect of God that’s usually greatly misunderstood by the ignorant and profane. Jesus, as the Messiah, was born in Capricorn, and both the devil and Christ were referred to as “the morning star”, and are polar opposites of each other.

If we break this formula down further and use the Keys of the Tarot to decipher their meaning, we get N = death, CH = Chariot, Sh = Judgment: and M = Hanged Man, Sh = Judgment, I = Hermit, Ch = Chariot, which equal 358. 3 = Empress, 5 = Hierophant, 8 = Strength. I’ll leave that for you to contemplate further on your own. 15 = 6 > represented by the “Lovers” as the sacred union of the two minds to form a harmonious whole. 15 is the summation of numbers 0 – 5 (1+2+3+4+5 = 15), the basic principles of the mind and its true relationship with matter. The word devil is “lived” spelled backwards and is ascribed to “wisdom” – we only learn by living and doing. All knowledge is obtained only through experience. Through self-realization and reason, we exercise our power of choice and will in transforming weaknesses into strengths.

The background of the scene is black, indicating the darkness of ignorance, limitation, and that which is hidden and resides within. Ignorance is the underlying cause of all bondage. The devil himself is a polar-image of the Angel in 14, which is also the caricature over the heads of the Lovers in Key 6. The man and woman are shown with horns and tail and represent the beast-like figures of the ones shown in the Lovers. The two horns represent a divided mind that’s set apart from and work to oppose each other. When human reasoning is based on surface appearances, we become like beasts, and reside in the darkness of illusion. The chain loops that yoke them (5) can be easily removed; their bondage is imaginary and self-maintained. The first stage of spiritual unfoldment comes as awareness of conscious bondage to material circumstances that personify the false conception that we’re bound by material conditions and the false notion that we’re a slave to necessity as chance.

The devil has bat wings, representing the powers of darkness. He has the face of a goat and ears of a donkey, representing obstinacy and the stubbornness of materialism. One side is masculine and the other feminine, he partakes in the characteristics of both sexes. The inverted pentagram, which is the sign of man, suggests a reversal of man’s understanding of his place in the cosmos. The Elements of materialism govern him. It’s only through a lack of using our divine abilities that we keep ourselves in bondage of ignorance and materialism.

The devils hand has all fingers opened with 2 fingers paired forming the sign of Saturn in the palm of the right hand. Saturn is the planet of limitation and inertia, and therefore ignorance. This symbolizes a failure to evolve to higher levels of self-awareness and keeping ourselves bound to the wheel of karma (10). In his left hand a torch burns downward, only lighting the ground. The torch is a phallic symbol and represents the transmission of life from generation to generation. The fiery quality refers to the active force of Mars. It’s the torch of revolution based on the material interpretation of experience. It’s symbolic of the torch of anarchy and terrorism which rule by fear and ignorance.

The devil has a naval (a human product) with the symbol of Mercury just below it. He is a product of faulty observation and superficial reasoning. His feet are the claws of an eagle, representing Scorpio as the misuse of reproductive power and it’s debasement in the service of sensuality. He sits on a half-cube (symbol of reality), and only sees half of reality, knowledge, and partial truth. He perceives only that which is visible and believes in disguises and false fronts.  

The fact that’s seldom realized is that the forces which appear to be our adversaries are always ready to serve us. It’s only through trial and temptation that we get to see into our own hidden nature. Once we realize our inner potential for freedom from being determined by our material conditions, we can begin taking control of our own urges and ability to create our experiences. When we bring higher spiritual knowledge into daily practice, we put forth the effort necessary to liberate ourselves from bondage that’s purely imaginary. The idea of the devil represents “sensation that’s divorced from true understanding”. He brings renewal, because we seldom make any real effort until we experience limitation. It’s only when limitations bother us that we put forth the effort it takes to overcome them through mental use of will, and we act to remove our own chains.

This represents the material elements that bind us to ignorance by controlling our mind to make us “like” them, and we become a beast instead of a divine being that’s wholesome and pure in character. When we live out of the ignorance of our lower, unconscious self, we indulge in physical pleasure without any regard for the consequences it brings, and we bring those consequences upon ourselves as a result, destroying our life, and becoming one with others that are of the same level of consciousness. In order to cultivate higher consciousness we have to overcome our addictions and the temptation to falter in favor of physical pleasures that destroy our virtuous character. This represents “vices” that directly oppose and prevent “virtues”.

Temperance (14), which precedes this one, represents the process of changing our conscious and chemical makeup by letting go of all behaviors born out of purely physical means that takes precedence over us and literally controls us by working through our lower nature. This represents learning how to use our ability to reason, make moral decisions, and use our will in order to neutralize physical impulses, passions, and cravings. As something appeals to our weaknesses and we indulge in them, we recombine our energies with them and they determine us as a result. Whatever we give into out of ignorance or moral weaknesses, we become one with in mind, body, and spirit. All actions require us to become one with an outside force or idea, and we become the “means through which” it expresses as a reality. As we become the expression of that consciousness by becoming one with it, we’re shaped by it accordingly. We have to let go of our weaknesses and transform our addictions in order to transform our lower self to become a clean vessel morally for our Higher Self to naturally inhabit.

This represents creative energy in its most material form. Capricorn occupies the zenith, the most exalted of the signs, and is symbolized by a goat leaping with lust upon the summits of the Earth. Saturn is symbolic of self-hood and perpetuity. It’s the divine madness of spring that has already been foreseen through the meditative madness of winter. His creative energy is veiled with the symbol of the Highest Initiate crowned with a winged globe and twin serpents of Horus and Osiris. Whatever we choose to become one with we use to shape ourselves and our destiny. By learning how to find ecstasy in every phenomenon, no matter how ordinary, we transcend all material limitations.

The devil represents the dumb animal of instinct and impulsiveness. It’s the blind force of instinct that destroys reason and poisons liberty from the lower planes. We alone are responsible for the evil it causes, because it only acts through us. In order to manifest the beast it has to first be allowed to enter into and take form within us, and then be projected outward. In order to create the beast we have to first destroy the man. In Black Magic the devil is the great magical agent employed for evil purposes by a perverted will. It’s the “old serpent” of legend that is the eternal fire of earthly life, the soul of the Earth, and the living center of hell. How we create ourselves by the energies we draw in and use to create ourselves either condemns us to a hell of our own making as the reality born out of our weaknesses and addictions, or it purifies us and promotes our ascension to higher levels of consciousness.

The blind agent of Life energy represented here can be used under different leadership as an instrument for good and evil alike. It’s the minister of angels and prophets and of fairies and sorcerers. It’s the Astral Light of the material plane that has strong magnetic properties, and when evoked and utilized by “reason” are produced harmoniously, but when evoked by madness appear chaotic, disordered, and hideous. It’s the Life force that can be commanded by will and used to create within the material plane in an intelligent and precise manner, and in the opposite manner, it can control us through passions, lust and desire, and utilize our will as the means of creating through and as us.

Self-Empowerment – The Relationship between Choice, Will, and Creation

This idea can seem confusing in terms of being able to actually employ it at the practical level because it involves different functions of different aspects of our own mind working in harmony with each other to produce the same outcome as an experience of reality. We have to understand the nature of our own mind in order to use it in a masterful way to create our reality. All of what we call our “higher capacities” of creation come through learning how our mind works at different stages of the same overall process, and how to not only use it in a deliberate and intentional manner, but also how to “troubleshoot” problems through a process of self-reflection that brings deeper forms of awareness.

All of life exists as a form of “feedback loop” between the inner and outer, and the upper and lower. We’re always working within and interacting with three planes of existence simultaneously as the means of both creating our reality, and then experiencing ourselves as that reality, shaping ourselves accordingly. Our mind is our soul and is not only the aspect of ourselves that’s multidimensional, but also the means and instrument through which we create intentionally to produce experiences of ourselves. When we remain unaware of our “true nature” as a higher, creative being, we experience life as happening “to us” instead of “by us”. We feel we have no real power over what happens and what path our life takes as a result. This is because while we’re associated into the subconscious, we lack the ability to create, just like animals lack the ability to determine their reality which serves to create them instead.

In order to create in an intentional manner, we need to form an understanding of the 3-fold nature of our mind, how each aspect functions in creating a greater whole, and the significance of parallel planes of a higher and lower nature. In order to form a working understanding of something we have to use a model in order to conceptualize it. The model we form in order to “observe something in action” is not the knowledge or idea itself, but rather a demonstration of how spiritual forces serve to create through material systems that are of a complementary and corresponding nature. We have to understand what aspect of our mind plays what role in creating a unified experience of reality. Many errors come from not assigning the proper roles to the different aspects and planes on which they operate.

One of the most basic mistakes we make comes from thinking that our lower, animal subconscious is what possesses “will” and that in order to make something happen we have to produce it through some form of determination and working against what comes as purely natural events. Anytime we’re struggling to try and make something happen contrary to the current conditions and circumstances, we’re working “against” or in contradiction of natural laws. All universal laws correspond to natural laws, and all creation comes through purely natural processes. When we work by way of universal laws to create, everything comes into fruition through a process of synchronized events that seem to come naturally through their own volition. This doesn’t mean that no action on our part is required, but instead reveals the “type” and “nature” of the action required.

Three Aspects of the Mind Working on Two Parallel Planes

The 3-fold principle of the mind/soul is illustrated in Sacred Geometry by the Triad as a triangle or pyramid. This diagram illustrates how our mind operates harmoniously between two fundamental planes of existence, often referred to as the “higher and lower plane” of the same reality which acts to unify them into a single reality. If we draw a horizontal line about 3/4 of the way up the triangle, we form the “capstone” of the pyramid as the higher plane and the mind of that plane which exists in a unified (single) state. As the “one mind” descends into the lower plane, it separates from itself, dividing and regenerating itself to form two aspects of itself as polar opposites that are complementary in nature and necessary in order to create an “experience of itself” as another.

Duality is required in order to produce the “appearance” of a self and another, an inner and outer, and as the means of acquiring “knowledge” of yourself which only comes through experience. The Astral Plane represents the plane of “knowledge” that’s only acquired through experience. We descend into a body that’s located within time and in a specific set of conditions and circumstances, forming an inner self and outer world necessary in order to “experience” ourselves “as” certain qualities expressed through a specific personality. This law is represented by the primary Law of the Monad, which is represented as a dot within a sphere. The dot is concentrated energy that produces the appearance of an outer reality as a holographic projection or emanation.

All material manifestation is comprised of “light” as photons which exist simultaneously as “both” a particle and wave. Our entire outer reality is a projection of our own mind on a higher level, and is contained fully within our higher mind as a “mental construct”. What we refer to as the “mind” is the “organizing principle” that “charges” matter of the material plane with a “frequency” that has both a pattern and self-organizing mechanism inherent in it that acts to organize light into “coherent fields of consciousness” as a harmonious unification of polar energies.

The mind operates through a hierarchical structure as ordered planes of existence that vary in density as different frequencies that vibrate at different rates and modes, similar to a musical scale of octaves. The Human soul of the higher mind exists on a “higher” plane than the lower mind of the material body, and is the aspect that orders, organizes and animates the entire lower one, forming a “singularity”. It oversees and orchestrates all the activities of the “entire” lower plane, and is the aspect that causes new formations on the material plane through an act of “will”. All of what we call “willpower” as the ability to “create” is conducted by our self on a higher plane and comes by way of the “whole reality” through a natural sequence of correlated events. It brings change as a harmonious movement of the entire material reality by introducing new ideas into the subconscious of our own lower mind that’s also shared with all of humanity and the Natural world of the Earth’s plane. What we call “oneness” of the material world is due to the fact that we all share the same “group mind” of the subconscious.

Within the material plane of formation, the subconscious is the aspect that produces a material manifestation out of “ideas” that it’s given by the higher mind. The subconscious is the feminine aspect of the mind that conceives of the ideas projected into it by the masculine aspect, and gestates it through a process that adapts it harmoniously with the current conditions and circumstances and births it as a material manifestation. As an idea is formed internally and magnetized with sensation and emotion, it forms into a pattern used for organizing the outer sphere of reality to be of the same idea and produces a certain “type” of experience as a metaphorical correspondence of that idea.

As the unified mind of the upper, causal plane divides itself in order to regenerate in the lower plane, it still exists in a polar state of equilibrium, and comes into the material body as the subconscious pregnant with the self-conscious, which it births through a process of adaptation, growth, and development. The self-conscious aspect of the mind is latent within the subconscious as its potential for self-creation within the body. In our initial state as a child only our subconscious is active and creating and we develop naturally as a part of our family and immediate environment. We’re born into an unconscious state where we lack all awareness of our true self which is what’s creating our entire material reality as an experience of ourselves within a certain matrix of dynamic relationships. The self-conscious is birthed spontaneously as a growth process where we “come into ourselves” and begin forming our identity as we mature and become an adult.

It’s the feminine aspect of our subconscious that’s a part of the Earth’s Soul of material reality and is the aspect of ourselves that “manifests” an idea as an outer experience of reality. While the subconscious is the powerhouse of the material plane and organizes our outer reality to be metaphorically the same as our inner reality, it lacks the inherent ability to think rationally, make decisions, and intentionally “seed itself” with a “new idea” to create as a reality. It births the rational self-conscious aspect as its own masculine counterpart that has the ability to reason, analyze, and make decisions based on its own calculations. The masculine, self-conscious mind has the ability to “seed” its own feminine aspect with its decisions, but it’s often almost completely unaware of how to do it. The subconscious only “takes in” and manifests the ideas given to it by the self-conscious which it then communicates to the higher mind.

 Our self-conscious, which is the self-aware aspect that perceives the outer creation of our subconscious, draws all its ideas as thoughts from within the group mind of the collective unconscious and forms most all of our “thoughts” from whatever we’ve been taught, and acts out whatever “relationship dynamics” we’ve been conditioned to in an automatic fashion. Most of our thoughts come automatically and are formed out of memories of some kind. When we rely on this aspect of our conscious mind, we simply create by seeding our subconscious over and over with memories of the past, and we use our creative power to create more of the past in the present.

Our self-conscious perceives the outer world created by our own subconscious and creates experiences of ourselves through the reality of our own making. This aspect, which is birthed fully within the physical body and experiences itself as the “personality” of the body, doesn’t realize that it’s also an aspect of a higher mind and is bestowed with the ability to create itself and its reality in whatever way it wants, and instead usually lives out its entire life from within a primarily unconscious state. This aspect of the mind gains “realization” of its own creation as the outer correspondence to its own inner thoughts and has the ability to make “new decisions” about how it wants to experience itself. As we gain new realizations about ourselves through our self-created experiences, they serve the purpose of making us self-aware and we can learn how to modify them through the active decision to work with our own thoughts.

Both masculine aspects of the same mind require the feminine aspect they share in order to actively create in new ways. The active requires the equivalent passive component to act as a “receiver”. The subconscious is the “medium” through which the active components of the upper and lower mind communicate with one another. As we make a new decision for what we want to actively create and experience, we shape that idea into a possible reality in our imagination (womb), where it’s communicated to the higher mind of Will. As the higher mind receives the sensory image as a “metaphor” for creating, it then injects that idea into the subconscious of the Earth’s plane, where it’s organized into a sequence of correlated events that bring it about naturally as an inherent part of our outer reality. But when it begins formulating as a corresponding part of our outer reality we have to recognize it as such, and make more decisions to “act on it”. As the ideas that we “request” through decisions begin formulating we have to resist the habitual tendency to discount them or blow them off as not being what we wanted and enter into a metaphorical relationship with them by actively engaging in their continued creation.

In a similar fashion, our higher mind is always injecting archetypal ideas into our subconscious as a means of administering karma as universal justice. These come as mental impressions that form inner visions of a particular type of experience that don’t come from memories obtained in this lifetime. When visions come as an inner voice out of nowhere, where nothing externally served to produce it, we’re given insight into what’s coming so we can prepare for it. These events seem to come outside of or in spite of our conscious decisions sometimes, because they’re providing us with the flip-side of our own actions from a previous time and life. This allows us to realize that what we perceive as another is actually our “self” as an expanded version. Our perception of others and reality is actually an extension of our self as we exist on a higher level of unity. We’re always acting “on ourselves” through our perception of our self as another.

There’s only One of Us

As we begin realizing this, we start waking up to the true nature of things and begin creating in a more responsible and compassionate way. Whatever we “do to another” we’re actually doing to ourselves on a higher level. In a unified state all creation comes as “patterns” produced through a “cause and effect relationship” where we play every role in creating a “holistic experience of our Self”. Our entire outer reality is produced as a correspondence to our inner reality. Everything that we do in the outer world through activity of some kind, we first do inwardly by thinking about it and running the consequences it’ll produce through our mind, making a decision of some kind regarding it. When we act in a compulsive and automatic way without thinking, we’re then provided with the “realization” of what we created while in an unconscious state through the choices and actions we took. This provides us with feedback that allows us to modify our process until we produce the results we intended to.

By reflecting on our life and grasping the full ramifications of the “cause and effect relationship” between being and doing, we can begin making the adjustments necessary to create in a more conscious and purposeful way. Once we begin realizing that no one is actually doing anything “to us”, but are simply stimulating us in a way that causes us to do it to ourselves, first as our thoughts and emotions, and then as our outward actions, we can begin seeing and realizing that we are the ones who are in fact creating our life to be the way it is, and we can make new decisions for ourselves that we administer by how we seed our own imagination. We can begin learning how to create from a self-aware and awake state. As we begin realizing that our outer world is comprised of our own psychological aspects, most of which we’re unaware of, we can gain tremendous insights into our own psyche and unhealed aspects of ourselves, and act on ourselves in a precise and deliberate manner to correct our own errors.

 Once we understand the dynamic nature of our own mind and how we create experiences of ourselves, we’re provided with the tools as universal laws for turning an unconscious process into a conscious and fully self-aware process of creation. As we gain self-realization through the outer mirror of our own inner mind, we learn the lesson it provides, and we begin developing our ability to use our mind in a much more proficient and deliberate way. We can use all of our experiences to become aware of our unconscious tendencies, and bring them into a harmonious state as a result. Through self-realization of our outer awareness as a mirror of our inner self, we can become conscious creators of our own life journey. We can learn how to utilize every aspect of our mind to produce a unified whole as the harmonious synchronization of all aspects of ourselves. As we wake up to our true self and creative abilities, we enter into our higher consciousness and perceive reality as a whole conducted from a higher plane of “true” self-awareness and realization.

“The Power of 7” – The Birth of Christ, the New Moon, and Annular Solar Eclipse

In our modern world of excessive materialism we’ve lost the essential meaning of life as a soul. Rituals and festivals of various kinds are designed to take us deeper into the hidden meaning of things where we can tap into the spiritual powers involved. Anytime we have a unique combination of numbers and correlated celestial events, we’re being given a formula whose interpretation according to the laws and principles they represent gives us deep insights into the energies that are actively expressing to produce global events as an evolutionary form of growth that develops all life in new ways.

Just as the full moon of December was marked by a numerical code, so is the new moon on Christmas day and the solar eclipse it forms. When we interpret the symbolism involved to find the deeper meaning, we realize we’re being given a message as a form of prophecy. These celestial messages formed by star systems and heavenly bodies that work together to regulate natural cycles, provide us with insights into the invisible energies at work that are bearing direct influences on the Earth’s plane right now.

These celestial messages also provide us with a “set of instructions” on how to manage our own mental state and activities by consciously embodying these energies and doing the “inner work” involved as a means of calibrating ourselves to the flow of energy. By synchronizing ourselves to cosmic energies through conscious awareness we cooperate in a meaningful way with the events that are being initiated by them. Through a lack of awareness we remain ignorant of them and may have a tendency to work in contradiction of them while missing out on the growth opportunity they provide us with.

When we look at the “date” and time of certain events as an “encoded formula” that symbolizes the laws at work through a dynamic orchestration of celestial events that serve as metaphors for initiating corresponding terrestrial events, we tune into (intuit) a form of prophecy as a “prediction” of future realities. All “realities” are formed out of the universal Law of Cause and Effect as a dynamic relationship between complementary opposites. When we learn how to realize the laws at work in any situation we can predict the outcome of events in a fairly accurate manner. All prophecy is produced by understanding the energies that are actively expressing in any situation as a series of interactive relationships, and playing them out to form the outcome that’s the equivalent of what’s causing it. This relationship is “dynamic” because the “cause” produces an “effect” of an “equal or pronounced nature”, then the cause “reverses polarity” and the “effect” becomes the “cause” that produces another “whole series of corresponding events”. All of reality is produced as a self-perpetuating flow of energy that acts on itself to create itself. This cycle repeats infinitely as the 8th principle of “realization”. 

Sacred Sciences are formed as a “symbolic system” of correspondences that are all correlated with one another and provide the means for decoding what presents itself as an encoded formula. The Sacred Science of Gematria, Sacred Geometry, and Astrology, form a dynamic system of correspondences with the Archetypes of the Tarot, which serves as a Key for discerning the principles of the Kabala. Because Christmas (25 = 7) is symbolized by an “Archetypal figure” as the “birth of a savior”, we’ll start the interpretation with the Archetype associated with the number “7”of the Tarot, formed out of all correlating systems of thought. Just as our birth number breaks down to a numerical formula of the energies actively expressing in this lifetime as our “deeds”, we’ll handle the idea of Christmas as the “birth number” of a savior, with the year being insignificant to the equation because it’s “0”.

The numeric formula of 25 breaks down to 7 (2 + 5 = 7). 7 is represented by the Hebrew letter “Cheth”, which is symbolized by the “Chariot” or more precisely by the “Charioteer” of the Tarot. Like all numbers that are designed to represent universal principles, 7 represents the intrinsic value of “8”, which issues forth naturally from it as a “self-perpetuating” cause and effect relationship that’s continuous. Cheth means a “field enclosed by a fence”, which represents a specific location, area that’s cultivated by us, and our “territory” as the owner of our own creations. Whatever we create, we protect and defend. We “own” them. They represent our personal creations as the basis for our life experiences. It’s symbolized as an area closed off and “cultivated” by the mind/soul. It also implies shielding, safeguard, refuge, and safety. It’s symbolic of the “house” (of Beth) where the soul/mind is located in an “empty shell” as a shelter that serves as a “vehicle” (Gimel-2) that allows for psychological “dominion” within our self-created “kingdom”. A field is closed off and cultivated through “work” as our everyday “deeds” and activities.  Whatever we “pay attention to” we cultivate as a reality in our imagination and serve as a vehicle for manifesting as a reality.

The Nature of Light and Sound

The sense associated with 7 is “speech”. Speech is the function by which we “introduce limitations” as the means necessary for “defining” an idea by shaping it with attributes that give it certain characteristics.  As we shape an idea in our mental sphere (3) we create it’s “constitution” (4) as an organized field of information by “reverberating” it. Sound as the “spoken word” organizes light into a distinct pattern, and then continues to develop it through a chain of associated thoughts that imbue it with specific attributes and characteristics. As we shape an idea with certain characteristics we “develop it” in terms of how it functions and behaves as a means of applying it to our everyday life in order to create with it. All material forms are defined by their active aspects and potential for producing certain types of experiences. Form and function are always the exact equivalent of each other. Our “character” as intrinsic values that we’ve cultivated forms the basis for “all” of our actions and natural behaviors. There are no exceptions to this rule.

The mental function associated with 7 is “will” as “the spoken word” that serves to shape reality in the “imagination”. As we think (silent speech) and speak we shape and define ourselves through our reality. Words are like fences that impose limitations and collapse a wave-form of infinite potential into a particular idea as the use of our will in creating our reality. As we speak, whether internally as thought or externally as speech, we shape the meaning of our words in our imagination as a material (light) form. This material form is magnetized energetically with “sensation” and begins vibrating at the frequency of the form as an archetype and metaphor that serves to organize the light of the outer reality to be of the same thematic pattern.

Ideas formed in the imagination as visual thoughts shaped with sensory details that define it in specific terms, form a vibratory frequency as the minds (souls) ability to order and structure reality as a personal creation and “request” for a corresponding outer reality. Words organize information as a “field of speech”. Words have a preservative and protective power. The “right use of language” is the means of accurately creating with archetypal energies in a safe and intentional manner. When we extend the power of speech from words spoken outwardly to the internally spoken words of thought, we can see the importance of “right speech” in creating our self and our reality. It’s our silent thoughts that form the basis for all of our outer speech.

The Intelligence associate with Cheth is the house of influence. Words form the etheric body as the abode of inflowing cosmic powers. Human personality (body consciousness) is like a fenced in area of consciousness in which universal forces are drawn in, focused, and concentrated to form personalized reality as a direct experience. These cosmic forces flow into the personality (physical form) from the greater atmosphere beyond its boundaries. What is formed initially in “silent speech” of thought concentrates the cosmic forces and flows outward through the personality as self-expression and manifestation. All physical entities are formed internally first through the imagination as the “light body” (etheric double) that serves as both a blueprint and self-assembling mechanism that re-organizes the outer to match the inner. Whatever we think about in an intense manner forms the basis for what we “see” as our outer reality of manifestation.

As with all two-digit numbers we’re provided with a “formula” that represents the basic principles involved in producing an outcome of a specific nature. 2 = Gimel (High Priestess) where “universal memory” is drawn into the personality, forming thoughts that shape the Astral Light of the 4 Elements into imaginary realities of the same kind and type. 5 = the Mind/Soul as the Etheric element of the Mind that projects a thought-form into the subconscious mind of the personality as the means for organizing the 4 Elements into a “field of organized information” that then becomes a natural part of its outer reality. Once an idea is formed into a fundamental part of our outer reality it sets the stage for producing an “experience” that we then associate and identify with as the means of shaping ourselves “through” it and “as” it. 

5 represents the principle of “mind over matter” as the “self-assembling principle” of the mind that shapes an idea into a sensory thought-form that forms an energetic blueprint for organizing the outer light of the Astral Plane (sunlight) into the same idea. We receive ideas as thoughts from a universal source (sun-stars) that form our inner light (Moon) as a reflection and projection of solar energies. 5 is the number of our Higher Self (cosmic mind) that exists on the unformed plane of consciousness (invisible thought) in its “potential state” and is what acts to organize it into thematic ideas on the lower plane of manifestation.

When archetypal ideas as cosmic memory (2) is injected into the lower material mind by the Higher Self (5), it comes as thoughts that are adapted to the personality of the body and shaped (modified) in the imagination to produce the “etheric shell” (form) that draws in the cosmic forces associated with that idea, forming a vibratory frequency that organizes the outer reality (4) as a reflection and projection of the inner reality (3). The Mind is the “organizing principle” that’s self-assembling, self-actualizing, and self-perpetuating. Ideas form thoughts that act as a “seed” that’s planted in the fertile ground of the imagination where they’re gestated and developed (adapted and modified) into a unique possibility for constructing as an outer experience of reality.

The Sacred Marriage of the Triad and Tetrad

7 is considered the “sacred number of creation” because it represents the divine union of the Triad (Mind/Soul) with the Tetrad (physical body), which provides the hierarchal means for creating ourselves as a physical being. The triangle is the geometric shape that symbolizes the 3-fold nature of the mind and soul, and the square or cube symbolizes the 4 Elements of the material world, and when the triangle is placed on top of the square, it forms a “house” as the living temple of the divine soul. It’s symbolic of the upper 3 chakras of the mind merging with the 4 lower chakras of the body to form a coherent unit of light and sound.

7 represent the principle of both light and sound which form a “coherent field of consciousness” that functions as a singularity. As we speak, we organize light into the images of the words.  Metaphors, archetypes, and symbolic ideas are malleable patterns that can be adapted and modified in an infinite number of ways to produce correlating patterns as equivocal variations that all still work harmoniously as a waveform or holo-movement. Patterns of light (matter) only serve as “empty shells” (phantoms) that are magnetic in nature and act to “draw in” the universal intelligence of the cosmic mind which vibrates, animates, and expresses through it. A form can only serve as the means for magnetizing the energies appropriate to that form.

Whatever thoughts we consistently form as our normal way of thinking is how we “tune ourselves” to the specific cosmic energies that can express as a reality “through” and “as” that form. When we dwell in negative thoughts that cause pain and suffering, we act as a magnet for acquiring more of those same types of experiences. All “experience” is experience of our “selves” as both an inner and outer reality of the same nature. Our “inner light” comes as the absorption and reflection of “solar light”. Our thoughts are the active use of our “will to create”. As we call forth and create our outer reality, we create an experience of ourselves within and as that reality, and we form it into the cosmic memory that then serves to shape us energetically (spiritually).

As human souls of a higher nature than the animal kingdom, we are “creative beings” who create our reality through our thoughts. Whatever ideas we connect with, draw in, and dwell in continuously we literally use as the means of creating. Cosmic energies serve our Higher Self and vibrate whatever idea we form in our mind as a sensory reality that invokes a corresponding emotion. The emotion that comes as a natural response to our thinking amplifies and intensifies the frequency of the thoughts while transmitting it telepathically through the Earth’s atmosphere (field of astral light), impregnating the space around us. As it’s radiated outward as a projection of our inner reality, it acts to organize the same type of reality on a larger and more inclusive scale, providing us with the “experience” we requested through our thoughts.

We don’t “pray” or request a certain type of experience in a momentary act of concentrating on an idea for 5 minutes that often contradicts or extends outside of our normal thoughts, but exist in a constant state of prayer as the intimate connection with our Higher Self. Our body is “tuned energetically” by our mind and acts as an antenna with a two-way transmission. As we think, feel, and emote, we form our “etheric body” (8) which serve as a spatial map for organizing our entire experience of reality. Thoughts are the seeds for producing things. Whatever seeds we sow, we also harvest. Our higher power isn’t something that’s outside of us that we ask for intervention from that that will transform our reality to a better one that’s in direct opposition to our ordinary thoughts. Our higher power is something we possess internally that’s both inside and outside of us as our “mind”. Our mind as our thoughts is how we use our higher abilities to create our own reality. As we think by picturing the reality of our thoughts in a concentrative manner we calibrate ourselves to the energetic frequency of those light-forms and act to draw in corresponding complementary cosmic energies. We tend to think that the higher powers exist outside of and beyond our grasp, when in fact we “are” the higher power creating the reality of our thoughts from a dissociated state.

The Charioteer – King/Priest/Warrior

The Chariot and Charioteer represent the principle of 7 as the king/priest/warrior (3-fold nature) that forms his kingdom, and his vehicle used for protecting his kingdom. The king is pictured on/in a chariot formed out of a cube (Tetrad), with 4 pillars holding a canopy of stars overhead. His crown is comprised of 3 stars (one large and two small), he has golden hair (solar) and is wearing a breast plate (protective shield) with the emblem of a square formed into a cross (quartered), holding a scepter in one hand and a globe in the other, pointing down at the 2 sphinxes pulling his chariot, forming a triangle. The 2 sphinxes are positioned with their bodies posed away from each other with their heads turned looking at each other. One sphinx is black and the other white, representing the two pillars of the temple known as Jakin and Boaz, which support and maintain the veil of illusion (separation).

This symbolizes that we all form and rule our own kingdom by organizing the cosmic forces of the 4 Elements through our will. In the Kabala 7 is represented in the sphere of “Hod” (the emanation of Chokmah on the lower plane), and is the complementary aspect of “Netzach” on the same plane. Hod represents the intellect or self-conscious aspect (masculine) of the lower material mind, and acts to “seed” the subconscious (feminine) with an idea as an “emotional thought” that the subconscious then produces as an outer reality of the same nature, allowing for “realization” (8) of our own creation. The power of the will lies in the imagination, which is what forms the inner etheric blueprint for creating as an outer reality. The mental activities represented by the principle of will are carried out on the subconscious level of constructing reality. 

Through simple self-study you’ll realize that your thoughts and speech are predominately subconscious in nature, which means they come naturally without intention or actual awareness. Our vocabulary and how we structure our thoughts come through an unconscious process of association. All of our sentences, our style for expressing ideas, and figures of speech all take place “below” the self-conscious level, which means without our direct awareness. Our subconscious, which is the same aspect of the mind shared by all of humanity, is seeded not only by our own words, but also by the words of others that we “take in automatically” (without awareness) and form in our imagination as an experience. As we continue to think about something we develop into a well-defined reality and it serves to adjust our vibration through the emotions associated with them.

Cheth is ruled by Cancer, a cardinal water sign, where we can see the hard outer shell (house) of the crab as an enclosed area that provides safety and protection. Cancer is ruled by the Moon (Key 2), and the planet Jupiter (Key 10 as “fortune”) is exalted therein. Our fortune or “destiny” is determined and called forth as our reality through our thoughts and speech. Cancer governs the chest (a fence of bones) and stomach as our “gut instinct”. The chest (heart center) connects the upper 3 energy centers of reception, imagination, and speech, to the lower 3 centers of emotion, instinct, and reproduction. Cancer is a psychic, receptive sign that’s said to be endowed with a tenacious memory (Key 2).

Speech is not only composed of “definitions” but also embodies mental imagery and gives form to a “stream of consciousness” formed out of memory. The 7th subtle energy center of the body is the “crown” and (represented by a lotus with a 1,000 petals) acts as a “receiver and transducer” for cosmic memory where a wave or field of archetypal information is “collapsed” around a “single possibility” as a form of “natural selection”. As the wave is collapsed into a single possibility for creating it’s transformed into 2 petals as the “winged sphere” of light and sound. As it’s drawn down into the various energy centers of the body it’s adapted to the mental paradigm of the individual and modified into a unique variation as a personal creation. As it’s drawn into the 3rd eye it’s divided into polar aspects as an inner voice that forms an equivalent inner vision.

As we conceive an image in our mind that’s a “reflection” of solar energy, we continue to modify it by thinking about it and defining it with words. The Moon is a symbol of our lower nature, and does not possess a light of its own, but acts to merely reflect the light of the sun, as the means of illuminating the dark. As The well-formed idea is projected into our heart center it connects us with that same idea in everything around us (heart center is the connector, transmitter, and receiver of the material plane). It acts to form an electromagnetic field that serves as the carrier wave for the emotional state of the idea. Ideas are transmitted fluently on the material plane as emotion, where we absorb them and “reproduce” the reality they’re programmed with as an internal thought-form. The holographic principle demonstrated in the Geometric symbol of the Dyad as the Vesica Pisces or “womb of creation” (2), carries through to all levels of creation as what merges cosmic forces with ideas (3) that form reality as their offspring (4). The 7th chakra is a “receiver” for the vertical transfer of information between the higher and lower plane, and the heart chakra (4th) is what connects us to that same idea on the material plane.

3 + 4 =7 > imagination seeded with cosmic memory forms our material reality as a projection or hologram. 4 is the number of order and measure of the 4 Elements. The starry canopy over the Charioteer’s head is held up by 4 pillars divided into 2 equal parts. This signifies the Hermetic axiom, “that which is above is like that which is below”. His chariot (mobile house) is pulled by 2 sphinxes of a complementary nature formed by a human head and chest on an animal body. The division between man and animal takes place at the solar plexus (navel). The overall shape formed by the king/charioteer standing upright directly above the 2 sphinxes of a lower plane, with each hand holding an instrument that’s pointed at each sphinx, forms a triangle as the Higher Self directing and utilizing the 2 lower aspects of the animal-elemental mind to form his kingdom within which he resides and rules.

This is the same triangular configuration as the Hierophant (Key 5) which shows the Pope administering over 2 children as the “keys” to the “self” within a material form. The starry canopy over his head represents the celestial forces and their descent into the physical plane through the activity of the 4 Elements, which is the essence and substance of all material manifestation. The energies of constellations as star-systems produce  influences that serve to transforms material manifestation through the injection of subtle energies. These “ideas” are received by the subconscious of those whose mind are properly tuned, and form a unique variation in each individual through a natural process of adaptation (5), forming specialized roles in acting out the same overall idea as a group forming a joint experience of reality. The mind as the Higher Self is the principle of conception and gestation that births reality out of organized fields of light. 7 is referred to in Sacred Geometry as the “enchanted virgin” because it has no exact measurement and each time its drawn or constructed forms a variation while still holding true to the same basic shape. For this reason, 7 is also associated with the principle of creativity and self-expression.

25 represent the relationship that exists between 2 and 5 in forming the outcome of 7. The principle represented by 2 is cosmic memory as archetypes that are conceived, formed, and birthed through the Vesica Pisces of the mind. The triad is formed internally as the etheric-elemental hologram that serves as a spatial blueprint for constructing a corresponding outer reality. As we receive an electrical impulse (vibration as a pattern) we form it in our mind as a gaseous light-form that acts to draw in and gives rise to sensation of a fluid-emotional nature, that’s concentrated and solidified into a material reality of an equivalent nature. Creation comes as an injection of cosmic energies into the subconscious plane of the Earth and acts to transform and evolve our reality as a global consciousness. It represents the “Higher Will” creating through the 2 lower aspects of the animal mind.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse

Just as we had the full moon marked by 12/12 twice, we have Christmas 14 (5) days later as the New Moon in Capricorn. During a new moon the astral forces of the Earth are at a minimal and we’re able to transcend or resist their magnetic attraction long enough to “conceive” of a higher, celestial force. The womb is empty and ripe for conception of a new seed. We “begin“ all new creations during a new moon. All new goals are set in place and initiated during the “darkest night” of the month and year. When the New Moon comes at the winter solstice it symbolizes the “darkest night of the year” when a “savior is born”. This idea is represented by the “dark night of the soul”, where the pattern of an old manifestation disintegrates and our life seems to completely fall apart, making us ripe for conceiving a whole new idea that will take its place.

This marks the moment of true transformation as a form of “rebirth” that’s undertaken through conscious use of will and in a decisive and deliberate manner. This signifies that the energies represented by 12/12 will act as a seed for the gestation and birth of new ideas. This New Moon is also going to be an annular solar eclipse, which means the Moon is the furthest away from the Earth, and will act to block out the light of the sun for a short period of time. The exact time of the New Moon will be 12:14 am on the 26th, which indicates both the dissolution of a whole cycle (12) and the initiation of a new one that will serve to change the vibration (14) of the collective unconscious of humanity. This eclipse and the New Moon happen in Capricorn, which has the energies of growth, abundance, and good luck that comes from detaching from the material addictions that keep us in chains. So it indicates a “blessing in disguise” that initially seems traumatic but will ultimately produce positive change.

The Magical Key of 7 – Putting it all Together

This indicates an ideal time to embody new qualities and set new goals for your life that will be infused with very positive energies. 7 represents the active use of our will to transform ourselves into a purified state of a higher nature. The cube of the chariot represents the Philosopher’s Stone as a throne and vehicle for creating by seeding our own mind with ideas that are turned into ideals. We can only act to draw in and integrate energies that resonate with our state of mind. The breastplate with the triangle engraved on it is the knowledge of Divine Things which renders the wearer invulnerable to human assaults. We’re given a formula for transformation from a lower state of unconscious creation to a higher one through what’s called the 7 deadly sins and 7 divine virtues, which are actually polar opposites of each other, and correspond to the 7 planets which are the archetypal energies that make up the human psyche. These 7 sins (errors) and virtues operate according to the Laws of Polarity (2) as opposite aspects of the same idea separated by a process of graduation from one extreme to another.

The 7 planetary aspects of complementary forces that can be used as the means of transformation from one state to another are represented as: Sun = faith > pride; Moon = hope > avarice; Venus = charity > luxury; Mars = Strength as superior to wrath; Mercury = prudence which is hostile to idleness; Saturn = temperance opposed to gluttony; Jupiter = justice opposed to envy. These are the prophetic keys of the 7 spirits where humanity subsists under the laws of growth and development that’s undertaken through active use of our higher capacities of self-realization, choice, and active use of will in order to manifest the reality of our decisions. The Kabalistic book of the Apocalypse is sealed with “7 seals” each of which represent a “church” as the “stars” of the etheric body which are regulated by the higher mind. These correlate with the keys of the ternary (3), quaternary (4), septenary (7), and duodenary (12), and are utilized through active application of the 7 Hermetic Principles. 7 is decisive in all things. If we haven’t been able to manifest a desired experience it’s because we haven’t really made the decision to do so, and are still negotiating it through conflicting desires and ideas.

7 represents the equal unity of the first and last principle as the alliance between the spoken word and manifestation of the reality indicated by the words. The alliance between the triad and tetrad is represented by the 4 letter name of God as the Tetragrammaton (4 pillars of the temple). 7 is the very nature of reality as the substance of the mind creating it through thought and speech. There are 7 colors of the prism, 7 notes in a musical scale, 7 planets, 7 chords of a lyre, 7 primary human emotions, 7 metals of alchemy, and 7 spirits of Cosmic Consciousness, all of which form a dynamic series of correspondences as a chain-of-association that connects them all in principle. 7 is the active use of will that brings realization as a personal creation. We’re being called upon to learn how to use our own will as the means for transforming ourselves from a lower to higher state of consciousness by managing our lower mind and determining what ideas we allow into our mind to gestate and form our soul’s destiny, and which ones we censor and keep out.
