The Great Awakening and the Grand Illusion

The idea of a great awakening, which is where humanity as a whole begins waking up to what’s really going on, is waking up from the collective dream, which is a form of hypnotic trance. As a general rule, and there are no exceptions to this rule because it’s based on universal law, we live our entire life through a form of hypnotic dream state. This is initiated and set in motion through our formative conditioning and public education at a stage in our development when only our subconscious, associated with our lower, animal nature, is fully functional, while our conscious mind is latent within us and only in the initial stage of development. I’m not going to go into a long, drawn-out description of how hypnosis works through the dual aspects of our mind, because I’ve written many articles explaining this process in detail. I simply want to point out that the subconscious is passive and receptive, meaning it readily takes in suggestions from the conscious aspect of the mind, whether our own or someone else’s, and turns it into a possible reality as an emotionally charged experience.

As our conscious (self-aware) mind begins developing, around 7 or 8 years of age, which is the part of our mind that begins thinking, reasoning, problem solving, and creating personal memories, all our thoughts and feelings are formed out of our conditioning (initial programming) up to that point, as a natural form of growth and development. Our subconscious doesn’t discriminate, judge, or question what it takes in from others and the environment around us, it simply takes it in and begins turning it into a reality that brings a particular type of experience. It doesn’t know the difference between true and false or right and wrong, because its instinctual nature lacks morality. It simply takes whatever it’s being told, taught, or what’s being modeled by others, and creates an emotional experience of it. It takes on and becomes harmonized with whatever family and social dynamic it’s a part of and plays a significant role in.

Our conditioning, whatever it may be, becomes the seed and nucleus out of which we continue to grow and develop as our reality through correlating thoughts, feelings, and imagined scenarios. We can only grow and multiply what’s there to grow. We don’t have the mental capacity to have epiphanies or realizations that reside outside of our initial model and habitual patterns of thinking, processing information, and behaving. This mental state is an illusion in the most basic sense, and while each of us forms our own illusion of reality, it grows out of and is directly correlated with our family dynamic-illusion, which stems out of societies illusion, which stems out of regional and national illusions, and so on. This idea is represented by a tree branch or river with many branches extending outward from the main vein, all of which eventually flow into the ocean (collective unconscious of humanity).

Reality is an illusion - a reflection of the mind

Our mind(s) is what builds and sustains our perception of reality as a particular type of experience that’s born out of an overall life-theme (shaped through our conditioning) and is always our own personal creation. Because we reside primarily in our material, subconscious mind as our normal state, we don’t realize our true higher mind’s ability to self-create. We form relationships of various kinds with those who share a similar life pattern and way of perceiving reality. As we go along in life, not understanding how our own mind works, we continue to take in the suggestions of others, especially those delivered with an emotional charge or that appeal to our issues and complexes, integrating them into our existing mental model, evolving them accordingly as a natural offspring of our model. In other words, we build the suggestions we’re given into our perception of reality in a way that makes sense to us.

We continue to create the reality and experience of whatever we’re being told, taught as being true or factual, watched in a movie or video, read in an article or book, and engage in constant dramas of some kind that are emotionally intense. We create a reality (an experience of reality) out of whatever we’re being told to create as a reality. This is referred to as the collective unconscious of humanity, which substitutes as human instinct, and maya in many spiritual traditions, which means “illusion”. This works beautifully, not only because we don’t know how our own mind works, but because even when we do figure it out, we can’t seem to get a handle on it. We take over trying to consciously direct our own thoughts and imagination by learning how to exercise the faculty of reasoning (where we can figure out the true nature of things), or by basically learning how to hypnotize ourselves in terms of masterfully seeding our own subconscious on what to create using our conscious (willful) mind.

This realization of how we’re being hypnotized by others, society, mass media, entertainment, and especially by our own thoughts and what we picture and run through our mind, is being referred to as “awakening”. We’re waking up from our own dreams and the dream of society. But just the realization of what’s going on isn’t enough, because it tends to be fleeting and short lived. It usually takes several steps or phases of realization before it really sets in, and we begin working with it in a deliberate and meaningful way. Many feel overwhelmed when they have moments of extreme clarity because it leaves them feeling hopeless or not knowing what to do. Once we’re used to being pulled along and told what to think and do in order to function properly in the mass illusion of society, it can be very difficult to disconnect at a personal level and begin truly waking up in terms of realizing what’s actually happening, and how it’s being strategically conducted, and the reason behind it. What are we all being led to as a whole? And who or what is it that’s doing the leading?

Contemplating the Hidden Wisdom encoded within Spiritual Sciences - by Dr. Linda Gadbois

This is further compounded by those who present a much happier idea of what’s now being called “the great awakening”, where humanity as a whole is supposedly going to start waking up from their own hypnotic trance and begin realizing the mass deception that has become the very basis for what we experience as reality, and all the deception, being magically revealed, will fall away, and a blissful world will somehow replace it. What Biblical texts refer to as the return of the savior of humanity where the Earth will be restored to paradise and we’ll live happily ever after. Another illusion designed to give us hope that’s clearly a form of fairytale. Deception is not only thoroughly engrained in our current reality, but it has also been the very basis of our entire history within this domain.

Waking up from the mass illusion being perpetrated by others and facilitated by our own mind, is not a blissful or wonderful experience, as so many portray it as. It’s a form of living hell that will cause you to be consumed with a deep sense of grief and hopelessness. A deeper form of grief that has no remedy or solution. Even if you wake up to what’s happening and correct your own thoughts and behaviors, you become isolated in the most basic sense, always fighting what seems like a hopeless battle. Then, to make matters worse, at some point along the way, as you become more and more aware of what’s going on behind the scenes, you simultaneously begin realizing that you are your own adversary. That you ultimately cooperated in creating the delusion without realizing it. The dual aspects of your mind, which form the hypnotic process, seem to be posed against each other, where you’re always unconsciously self-administering your own demise. The battle between good and evil isn’t just something that’s happening in the world at large, it’s happening within your own psychological makeup, and is what causes you to naturally cooperate in co-creating it at a worldly level.

This stage is a different level of awakening. Not becoming aware of what’s happening in the world around you, but by becoming aware of what’s happening in the world within you. You have two aspects of your mind and self, each of which is struggling to gain control over the other. These have traditionally been labeled good and evil, portrayed as having a devil on one shoulder, and an angel on the other one, each whispering in your ear vying for your attention. In mythology this is portrayed as “twins”, one good and godly, the other evil and demonic, where the evil one is always trying to kill the good one. This is the self-sabotaging and self-defeating aspect that’s known as internal conflict that engages us in a constant debate that doesn’t seem to have a viable solution. One part of us is always struggling with another part. No matter which one we lean towards or favor, it seems to antagonize and provoke the other one. Each seeking dominance over the other. This is the same dynamic happening at every level of our life. It’s the battle between good and evil, right and wrong, true and false, selfishness and selflessness. Society (governed by hidden powers) always acts to dominate and gain control over the masses, where each person unknowingly participates in their own ultimate demise by surrendering their will to an unknown source. This isn’t always done willingly, but often because they don’t see an alternative and, once locked into the system, feel trapped without a way out.

Is reality an illusion

When we do wake up, we realize there’s no hope, humanity as a whole is not going to wake up from their own unconscious stupor, and when they do, they’re overwhelmed with realizing they’re trapped in a reality they can’t influence or change. Most have been trained to exile and ultimately annihilate anyone who attempts to disrupt the grand plan being played out at the global level. We call it character assassination. If you stand against the system, not in terms of personal issues or opinions, but in terms of trying to shed light on what’s going on at the greater level of society, not only will you get tagged and investigated, but it’s other people, the ones you’re trying to make aware that will joyfully participate in attacking, ridiculing, and ostracizing you. People are so brainwashed and confused they’ll seek to kill and eliminate anyone who disrupts the status quo or undermines their false sense of security. It’s much easier for most people to relax with their head in the sand than to stand up for their rights and exercise their ability to govern their own life in a rational and responsible manner. All you have to do is keep people feeling afraid or threaten to take away their security and livelihood, and even if they initially retaliate, over time they’ll accept it and begin complying as a means of surviving.

If you pay attention, even when things become apparent as being true, and many are initially outraged and retaliate somehow (stand up), their voice is eventually squelched, they’re ghosted on public platforms, their information is taken down, and all resistance seems to gradually subside and fade away. Look at how many things have become blatantly obvious as being true, and a narrative is generated around it as a probing investigation that serves to calm down those who are riled up and speaking out, only to eventually fade away and disappear altogether, while absolutely nothing is done about it. While this has become obvious in our current society, especially due to the advancements in media and global communication, to the point where you can no longer deny it, it’s been going on throughout our entire history. Every since there has been a ruling class of some sort who took it upon themselves to govern and rule over the masses.

Some of the most recent . . . 9/11, where all kinds of evidence became publicly known, and outside of Osama Bin Laden, being eventually hunted down and killed (supposedly), absolutely nothing happened in terms of prosecuting those involved in orchestrating it. Genetic modification of seeds and our food supply became a corporate/government operation in an attempt to eventually own the food supply, causing a bit of a public uproar . . . maintaining their operation while fabricating false publicity or outright ignoring it, eventually became excepted and no one even talks about it anymore. The list goes on and on, something, usually deemed a conspiracy theory, a term coined by the very people hiding the truth, is found out and made public, some engage and try to investigate it on their own or speak out, only to be silenced somehow or mysteriously killed, and absolutely nothing is done about it. Society eventually quits talking about it and just accepts it while moving on to the next drama intended to distract us.

The Illusion of Thinking You can Wake Up Others

Another grand illusion comes in the idea that some people, those who consider themselves to be awake and aware, attempting to somehow awaken others, by pointing out the illusions they can’t seem to see on their own. This is a typical human tendency where we argue or present our case in an attempt to get others to see things the way we do and agree with us, which ultimately serves to validate us. This comes back to the “savior” illusion, where we think it’s somehow our job to save or heal others as a form of divine intervention. This has never worked, and will never work, because waking up to what’s going on subliminally and supposedly hidden, though it’s being conducted right in front of us, while being observed through a narrative of some kind that makes it seem like its something it’s not, is a basic function of our higher, rational mind, which has the capacity to reason and evaluate what’s happening from a detached perspective. Through reasoning we can draw an intelligent conclusion of our own and recognize what’s true and what’s false.

This is what we call our conscience, which is our moral nature. Not just in terms of right and wrong, or good and bad, but also between true and false. The higher mind is not consumed with its own self-induced emotional illusion like the lower subconscious (group mind of humanity). It’s not able to be brainwashed or led astray through emotionally charged suggestions that plant the seeds of illusion, it’s the part of us called intelligence and will, that facilitates the brainwashing and hypnotizes its own subconscious mind. When we remove the power of other peoples will being given to us, where we basically think and do what they direct us to, and begin using our own will and reasoning to decipher and make decisions for ourselves, then, and only then, do we truly start becoming awake in our own life. You can’t teach this or even explain it to others, all you can do is exercise it in your own life and serve as a model for others to replicate in their own way. It’s not your responsibility to save people, because that’s an illusion in and of itself. Each person is responsible for saving themselves by intelligently employing the active part of their higher conscious mind.

People, for the most part, aren’t capable of waking themselves up from their own self-induced hypnotic trance. They’ll continue to believe whatever mass media and society tell them to believe because they simply don’t seem to know any better. Waking up from the grand illusion is NOT a pleasant or euphoric experience. It’s a very disturbing one, where you move from a lack of awareness (ignorance is bliss) to one where your awareness makes you feel hopeless in being able to change it. Even when you become aware of what’s going on, you simultaneously realize you’re powerless in changing it. You don’t have the ability to change or even make a meaningful impact in transforming what’s happening on a grand scale. Most are not willing to give up what they know they’ll have to in order to change their own mental state. Even when stages of a greater awakening begin happening, and you have the initial reaction of talking about it and trying to do something, your voice is silenced, friends start going away, you become stressed out over what you clearly see going on, and after a while, fall back into a numb state of complying. You begin going along with it as a means of surviving and being accepted as a part of a group.

Some come to the realization that it’s not about fixing this world, which is corrupt beyond repair, but about transcending it altogether. Transformation, which is always self-administered through learning how to operate the dual aspects of your mind, forms the basis for ascending the material world and moving into the world of your higher, divine mind, which is sovereign and self-governing. Transcendence is the main focus of non-religious spiritual traditions. This is reflected in what Jesus taught, not as the god of Christianity or any other religion, but as a master, teacher, and magician, when he said, “do not build your house here, you’re only passing through”, and “what’s of the earth stays with the earth, and what’s of heaven returns to heaven”. We’re not here to fix this world, we’re here to practice utilizing our own mind according to universal law as the basis for creating in a conscious and responsible manner, and ultimately, transcending it altogether. This is the realm of “good and evil”, designed for us to gain knowledge of our own inner nature, and good and evil will always be adversaries posed against each other, requiring us to wake up, become aware of our true divine nature, and use Reason, choice, and will to either build ourselves out of it, and remain a permanent part of it, or choose to use the higher capacity of our intellect to transcend it in consciousness.
