How the Mind Creates Reality – The Nature of Perception and Experience

There has been so much confusion with the explosion of quantum physics and Mind Sciences as to the true nature of what we call “reality”.  One of the most fundamental problems we have is people tend to think of the material world of matter and form as a fixed, objective, and stationary construct where every person (mind) is somehow perceiving and experiencing the “same thing”. Because of this, we don’t realize the true power of our mind to shape reality, or the true nature of the relationship between the mind and matter. Naturally, the entire material world is only “perceivable” through or because of the mind, and the mind as a field of information is what “operates” both the brain and the body, which is a mechanism for processing sensory information to produce what we experience as coherent and consistent version of reality.

When we say that the “mind creates its own reality”, we’re usually not referring to the idea that it literally manifests the physical world that appears to be outside of us as well as in us, although there’s certainly an argument for this idea also, but what it means in the general sense is that the mind “interacts” with matter energetically, and through resonance and sympathetic induction, alters it’s outward appearance and how it “organizes” in terms of attributes, qualities, and characteristics, producing a variation that still indigenous to the same overall theme as a new version or possibility. All vibration acts to form a pattern as the electromagnetic field that organizes matter into a distinct form that’s then animated with a form of personality where it outwardly displays distinct qualities and characteristics. The pattern inherent in a frequency is more of a “theme” or general “range of expression” rather than a distinct and fixed shape that exists more as a specific vibration within that frequency.

As we vibrate to a certain frequency, we act to connect with that same frequency in everything else through “sympathetic induction”. This is where the subtle energy that’s vibrating and shaping one form, literally “enters into” another form vibrating at the same frequency or within near proximity (where it can still be drawn in), and “affects it” by “altering its state”. The two aspects of the same frequency then begin vibrating in harmony, forming into the same “type of pattern” as a cohesive and coherent idea. All of what we call a frequency, which is a range of vibration as a kind of scale that moves between extremes of the same overall idea or theme, exists within other frequencies that together make up what we think of as the natural world as an ecosystem. All of what we call “material form” is actually composed of mostly empty space as “natural forces” that charge particles and organize them into patterns as a “living system”. Energy from all around readily move into and through the empty space holding matter together, influencing it in a way that alters how it organizes the system in terms of what’s made active and inactive, and how it changes in its “appearance” while still maintaining the same overall thematic or archetypal shape. So we don’t necessarily change the outer shape of things, but rather which attributes and qualities are active, called forth expressing, and which ones become latent and recede, and how it behaves and expresses in relationship to us as a result.

        In the Biblical story of the creation of the natural world, called the “original creation”, the material world was formed from the “spoken word”, but left unfinished. Humans, who are gifted with higher capacities of the mind for creating, were left with the task of “finishing it” by creating it in a unique and individual fashion. While the material world and the lower mind of our animal body appears to exist in what we could call an objective, stationary and neutral state, where everybody is seeing the same “basic thing”, it actually exists as a wave or “field of information” that has an infinite amount of potential that’s all thematic in nature as archetypes of various sorts, where every single mind that enters into relationship with it, filters out certain aspects, while selecting and enhancing others, forming it into a new and unique variation. While a tree exists as the same type of tree to everyone who views it, how they “experience” that tree, will be different every time. No two people experience the same thing in the same way. It’s always different based on how their mind forms it by resonating with it.

All energy as vibration contains an archetypal pattern as a field of information that forms an archetypal theme that has an infinite amount of possibilities for creating based on how the information is sorted, recomposed into new formula’s that produce new variations of the same thing. All material form exists as both a particle and a wave. Every object is accompanied by a subtle field of energy as the consciousness that organizes it through a “self-organizing mechanism” that “in-forms” it, holds it together as an operating system, and animates it with life. It’s the “empty space” that organizes the particles into a working system of some sort. These natural forces as electromagnetic fields have no real physical properties, and so the “mind” as individual consciousness moves freely into the mind and subtle energy of everything else, influencing it to a new vibration that alters how it appears to that mind. We are always creating (or recreating) everything to be in our image and of our likeness.

So we’re not necessarily literally creating our own reality, but rather transforming the existing reality that we all share as a part of this dimension, into a new and unique variation through our very perception of it. Our mind vibrates to a certain frequency that has a thematic pattern inherent in it that forms the energetic structure of our mind as a mental paradigm. This paradigm acts as a holographic model that resonates with everything around it, shape-shifting it to be of a congruent nature as a way of creating a consistent experience of reality in an ongoing fashion. We can only perceive, conceive of, or comprehend in our outer world what matches our inner world as the thematic structure of our mind. If it doesn’t match it or it exists outside of our paradigm (frequency), then we literally “can’t see it”. We can look straight at it and not comprehend it. We can only comprehend and therefore experience what we can blend with energetically, become one with in kind, and influence to be of the same idea as we are. All reality in this sense is a matter of perception.

       As we “perceive something”, meaning we form an experience of it, comes by way of our ability to influence it into a new variation of itself that’s a correspondence to our model of the world. So as we’re perceiving and thereby experiencing the outer world, we’re constantly in the process of reforming it to be like us, of the same thematic structure as we are. Perception operates according to the same principles that govern DNA and all physical manifestation. You have a field of information as the potential for producing a form, and based on what’s “turn on” and made active, and what’s “turned off” and made latent, determines the nature of the form. As we resonate with something, our field of information as our mind vibrating at a specific frequency with a thematic pattern, enters into the energy field of the form we’re interacting with, forming an “interference pattern” out of “shared components and qualities”, where what’s of a like nature is amplified and embellished, and what’s not is canceled out and diminished, and we “alter the pattern” that’s producing the form changing how it appears outwardly. It literally changes appearance or shape-shifts by conforming to our mental paradigm and ideas about it. While the overall thematic form remains the same, the active components as attributes and qualities are reformulated to where what’s actively expressing changes not only how it looks, but also how it behaves. As we reformulate the basic nature of something through our energetic interaction, we change how it’s being and what it’s doing.  This is very easy to see and understand by how we can “change” how people see themselves and behave through how we treat them and how they treat us.

All perception is formed through what we call a “filtering system”, usually comprised of values, beliefs, preferences, tendencies, memories, temperament, and so on, that together form a dynamic model that acts to reorganize any situation or reality by abstracting some parts while eliminating others. We’re not only always working on a limited amount of information gathered through a form of natural selection, but we then organize that small amount of information into the idea that we want it to be, believe it is, or expect it to be. What we believe to be true forms our experiences. What we value in a situation forms our process of selection. We reshape anything in whatever way we need to in order to form the interpretation we want it to have. How we interpret things to give them meaning, shapes how we experience them by the story we form in our mind about them. As we walk into any situation, we are programmed with a natural selection process for what we notice and abstract and we don’t and ignore.

This is very easy to see and understand when we simply realize that five people who are a part of the same event or reality will “experience” that event in a unique and different way from all the others, often telling such diverse stories about it that you can’t even tell it was the same event. Ask them about it and you’ll get five completely different accounts about what happened, what it meant, what resulted from it, what went on, what others were doing, what was important about it, what they took away from it, and so on. So even though we all share a common reality, how we experience that reality is very unique and diverse for each one of us. No two people experience the same thing in the same way. No two people look at the same idea the same way, we all have a unique take on it based on how we’re filtering it through our mental paradigm as our vibratory frequency to reorganize the general information involved and available to everyone into a unique pattern.

       Quantum physics has demonstrated that matter is influenced by the mind of the person interacting with it. That whatever the intention is for an experiment, whatever it’s meant to prove or disapprove, influences and determines how matter “shows up and behaves”. The consciousness of the individual enters into matter, influencing it with its thoughts about it, and stimulates it into new forms with new properties and behaviors. The individual viewing an event, and the event itself as it appears to the viewer, are a part of the “same thing”. The mind literally produces the results it wants to or has an intention and expectation for. This is why several different quantum physicists (or scientists of any kind) all conducting similar experiments will come to different conclusions. Where the only way to really know if something is real or not, is if two or more people “appear to be seeing” the same thing. And even when they do appear to be seeing the same thing, it’ll vary to some degree based on the paradigm of each individual which is what’s forming their perception, interpretation and experience of it.

Understanding the true relationship between mind and matter allows us to understand the true nature of Alchemy where we realize that the only way to change how the outer world appears to us, is by changing ourselves. If it still appears the same, it’s because nothing has actually changed in terms of our paradigm or mental and emotional state. Likewise, we can’t really change others in the direct sense of the idea, but by changing ourselves, we change how they appear to us and how they affect us. It’s only by changing our thoughts that we change our reality as a correspondence. The way to tell when you’re truly growing, developing new aspects of yourself, and transforming by altering your vibration, is due to the fact that you start looking at things differently, seeing something different in the same thing, and the way the outer world and others appear to you starts changing accordingly. As long as we hold the same frequency based on the same beliefs, values, preferences, memories, and thematic life story, the outer world appears stagnate and methodical. Nothing changes. By changing our mind, we change ourselves and how we perceive (create) others and our life. So in this way, we are definitely the one producing our perception and experience of reality. All of life as we are capable of knowing it is a personal creation of a common theme.

The Chakra System Provides us with a Model for Using our Mind to Heal our Body

The Chakra system of the subtle body gives us a “model for creating” from a dual perspective as the movement of energy that’s both descending as spirit into matter, and matter ascending back into spirit. The creative process works from both angles because it’s the continuous flow of the same thing. When energy as vibration is descending from a higher plane, it comes in a unified form that divides and propagates as aspects of itself that form stages of development as a kind of growth process of an idea becoming a material form and reality. There are no “individual or independent” operations slated to each chakra as many believe, but rather a unified idea that steadily takes on physical properties and becomes something specific as an actual material reality. It’s the system through which an idea manifests as an equivalent physical correspondence or analogy.

What originates as an archetype or “ideal” is a form of prototype or general template as more of a theme, which holds the infinite potential of that idea as a wave-form (crown chakra has a thousand petals), enters into the individual mind and body system, where a form of natural selection takes place that accesses certain aspects of potential that correlate with it, and through a series of interference patterns as a process of adaptation based on the unique relationship that thematic idea forms with the individual character that’s acting as a vehicle for it to come into an actual form of expression, it’s modified, and the wave is “collapsed” around one possibility (limitation is imposed), which is brought into expression to produce the reality as its physical form.

The crown chakra is where the idea, which has already penetrated and been absorbed and inducted into the mind as the subtle energy field that surrounds and in-forms the body, as a “whole idea” that contains all aspects required for creating in a unified manner, enters the body.  It’s received into the 3rd-Eye of the sixth chakra as an inspired vision or imagined reality (similar to a memory) that has both optical and audio properties (6th chakra is represented as two petals). It comes as an imagined thought that’s accompanied by an inner voice. As the voice speaks a vision is formed as the meaning of the words spoken as a material reality. This inner voice (5th chakra) and imagined reality becomes the basis of what we call “thought”, which when beheld and dwelled in, forms feelings as sensations as it descends into the heart center. These feeling sensations of the imagined idea act as a form of vibratory programming for the subconscious mind of the body, and is what “connects us” to that same type of reality in everything around us in the material world of formation.

       The potential reality as an imagined, sensory and life-like reality produces emotion as the chemistry of the body as it descends into the solar plexus, which adjusts the biological body to the same “state” (vibratory quality) as the idea. The emotions are produced as a reaction to our visual thoughts, and unlike the feelings of the heart that are felt both inside and out as a connection to the material world outside of us, emotions are felt with intensity within the body as a strong stimulation that’s arousing and brings the body into an active state in response to the thought. This strong arousal and pronounced activity within the body takes place as the emotion enters the sexual-generative center of the second chakra, which is creative in nature, and what produces action as behaviors of some form as it enters the root chakra, and acts to bring the idea into expression as an experience by producing an effect as the reality of the thought. Once an idea is acted on, it steadily manifests as not only our inner reality, but also our outer reality. This is how ideas become rooted in reality as the personal creation of those who serve as the vehicle and conduit for actualizing them.

Because this process begins in the brain, the point in the body where ideas are received in full sensory terms, then broken down and distributed to the body itself for manifesting, the brain is attributed as being what “generates” the ideas as a primal form of consciousness. Yet all material form only acts as a passive receptor and instrument for consciousness, which operates it by informing, instructing, and animating it. Consciousness, like everything else that emerges from it, is dual in nature as both a passive and active component. Matter is the passive aspect of consciousness that acts as a form of “shell” or dead form for spirit to inhabit and give life to as a “living being” with a personality and subconscious mind. So the body is the means through which creation takes place as the active expression of consciousness (the Soul).

This same process as an infinite flow of energy that forms a kind of “feedback loop”, which allows the soul to witness its own creation, takes place through a form of reverse engineering. In the ascending flow of energy from the lower to the higher mind, a behavior or action of some kind arouses and stimulates us with a strong emotion, which then produces a feeling sensation as a form of reflection that activates a memory as a visual and verbal idea that provides an “automatic pattern” for creating as a reality. In this orientation and movement, the emotion and feeling produce the imagined thought, instead of the imagined thought producing the emotion and behavior. One originates as a conscious and willful movement, the other originates as an unconscious and automatic movement. Both are equally creative in nature and serve as correspondences to each other because our thoughts are what create the programs as memory of the subconscious mind. These programs habituate us to emotions that keep us in an aroused state, forming the basis for what affects us and causes an automatic, knee-jerk reaction as an emotional charge that makes us go unconscious and act in an automatic, thoughtless fashion.

       All of our reactions, ultimately, come as the result of how we’ve consistently programmed ourselves over a period of time with our own thoughts that formed our memories as a product of our conditioning. Our memories are formed by how we interpreted events through emotional perceptions as the reality we formed around them based on what we told ourselves about them that gave them the meaning they have. All things only mean what we make them mean by the story we tell ourselves about them. This process of feelings that are received from the environment that act to prompt an emotion as an active arousal, which in turn produces an automatic behavior, is how the instinctual realm of the plant and animal kingdom operate. When we bypass the intellectual capacity as the ability to reason, discriminate, and form our own interpretations as a function of the conscious mind, and live instead out of emotions that form illusions as memories that produce automatic behaviors in us, we live in much the same manner as an animal out of a primarily unconscious state.

The intelligent capacities of the Higher, creative Mind, represented by the three upper chakras (voice, vision, idea, and will), has the ability to work through, direct, and ultimately program the lower, subconscious mind of the body, represented by the four lower chakras, all of which are physical in nature, and more specifically the lower three, with the fourth  heart chakra being what bridges and acts as a pathway between the higher and lower planes, and the inner and outer of the material plane. Information is received from the higher plane of archetypal ideas as original thought from the crown and head, forming a vertical motion of up and down, whereas information from the “same plane” (material plane), is received through the heart, and forms a horizontal , as a back and forth, inner and outer movement. When we only live out of our feelings and emotions, stimulated from outer events, others, or in response to thinking as memories of some form, we bypass the intellectual capacity and live out of an unconscious, auto-pilot state of being controlled and determined in much the same way a puppet is operated by a series of strings, or in a remote control fashion, with others constantly being in control of the remote.

        The model laid out as a creative process by the chakra system as a hierarchical structure, provides us with the key and method for employing to work in a conscious and deliberate manner with our own subconscious mind and body to alter and transform our physical body and reality. The subconscious mind doesn’t have the ability to generate and produce reality as an “original creation”, but relies instead on memory which it uses as the basis for creating more realities of the same nature and kind. A memory acts as a preformed pattern or theme that’s used as a template to produce fractal patterns of the same nature as a replication or consistent type of story that produces the same type of experiences over and over, varied only by the uniqueness of the circumstances, situations, and relationships being used to create them. It simply plays out the same ideas over and over in a habitual manner, and produces and maintains the condition of the body as its equivalent and of the same nature and condition.

Whatever story we tell ourselves about our self and life, we become in form. Our mental paradigm is what produces all of our perceptions, which is an interpretation that we use to create our experiences that then determines how we behave, and simply acts in all situations to generate more of it self. It’s only modified from its habitual tendencies through the introduction of an original idea, that’s delivered in its original state as an imagined reality and inner voice, that “gives it” a pre-made idea as a virtual memory that it can use in place of an actual memory to produce the reality of the idea by “becoming it” in body and actions.

In this same fashion, the subconscious of the body, often referred to as the heart, can be given direction on what and how to manifest based on visualization of the process desired as a reality and by talking to it, explaining the process and how it works, and how it’s going to benefit from it. A sense of pleasure and positive emotion needs to be connected to the idea as what the reality will naturally produce. Thought as an idea (replicates a memory) must be translated into the feeling and emotion that’s the equivalent of the idea because it’s what actually produces the behavior or motivation (arousal) of the subconscious. Emotion is the motivating force as the chemistry of the body that forms all of its biological processes. Emotion comes as the stimulation of the Endocrine glands – the master of which is the Pineal and Pituitary body that act together to regulate all others as a unified operation – that produce hormones as messengers that alter the “state of the body” and activate certain processes by turning some aspects on while turning others off, in much the same way DNA operates. It’s only through coherence of the brain and heart (conscious and subconscious) as an idea and its emotional equivalent that manifestation and transformation naturally takes place.

       A thought that’s not properly translated through a sensory reality that produces the emotion of the idea, doesn’t manifest because it doesn’t work to alter and regulate the chemistry of the body to produce the actions necessary. It’s only an idea imagined as a full sensory reality that’s “felt as being real”, that provides a process or operation for transformation as a form of instructions or direction that invoke an emotional response as altering and producing the physical equivalent as the production and distribution of hormones that transforms how the body regenerates itself. It produces the chemical messengers as the information and instructions necessary to alter DNA sequences and neuro-pathways that change how the body regenerates and performs.

While we tend think that what we call “reality” is something that exists separate and independent of us, the fact is reality results from our perception of it. How reality “appears to us”, what we see and comprehend and what we don’t see or fail to recognize all together, is based on our ability to perceive and conceive of it. While we also tend to believe that perception is a product of our brain or heart, in fact, we perceive with our whole being, with both our mind and full body as a unified state and cohesive system. Just as we think with our whole body, in which every organ of our body produces neurotransmitters, and performs different aspects of thinking and perceiving, we also perceive the outer world through the lens of the inner world. Whatever ideas we “program” ourselves (subconscious and self-conscious) with, shape our paradigm, which produces an equivalent and corresponding outer reality as its expression and personal creation. Every individual perceives the same objective reality in a unique, different, and individual way. It’s only by changing our mind and body through the introduction and development of new and original ideas that we reprogram our subconscious to be able to perceive those ideas as a natural part of our outer reality. By changing ourselves, our whole world changes accordingly.

Mastering your Will to Create and Transform

Many people don’t fully understand what we mean when we use the term “will”, and as a result they don’t know how to use it in a deliberate and powerful way to create. Will is always associated to choice, because anytime we’re actually using our will , it’s to move out of conditioning and automatic, habitual tendencies that we do naturally, and create in a new and more individual way instead. When we’re trained to belief systems and certain mind-sets as “group consciousness” of some form, we’re actually lending our will to others and allowing them to shape and determine us as a result. Our will isn’t our ability to “resist” things or not give in to passions, pleasure, desires, or cravings of some kind through an act of sheer strength and willpower, but rather our ability to decide on what we want to be and do, and use our imagination to form the correct “internal representation” (IR) of ideas that either make them repulsive and disgusting, or desirable and attractive.

While we tend to think that things have power over us in the same sense that they’re dictating our experience and how we respond as a result, the fact is that we shape the outer world into an internal representation (IR) that we then use in place of the actual thing or activity as a way of experiencing it. As we think about something we’re associating other ideas with it, and using our “sensory system” to embellish it with sensory qualities that invoke emotional states. An idea that’s turned into an internal reality that serves to elicit strong emotions in response to it are how we’re using our will all the time to direct our own behavior and what we participate in by desiring and becoming one with it; as well as what we don’t because we find it unappealing for some reason. If we’ve made a decision to stop doing something, and we constantly struggle to resist it and create an experience of suffering because we’re abstaining from it, it’s because we haven’t learned how to use our higher mind to direct ourselves, and we’re using it incorrectly as a result.

The body, which is what we also refer to as the subconscious mind, because it inhabits and operates it, is operated by memory, and forms all of our natural behaviors as repetitive patterns and daily rituals and tendencies. The subconscious “thinks” in pictures and is experiential in nature. This means we communicate with it and act to program it with a form of virtual memory by imagining ideas as an experience of them. Its primary motive is “self-preservation”, so all of its impulses as feeling emotional states are geared towards maintaining the status quo and habits engaged in on a routine basis. It’s primarily instinctual in nature and motivated by pleasure or pain. It moves deeper into and seeks out whatever it deems pleasurable, and moves away from or avoids whatever it deems painful. It forms, firmly establishes and faithfully maintains habits and addictions, and is nearly always craving and wanting something. All of its needs are physical and material in nature and it works and is driven by emotions, making it impulsive and urge oriented. When it doesn’t get what it “needs and desires” it causes pain and suffering through emotions and physical withdrawals, which is experienced as a form of death (no longer able to sustain itself through that activity).

The subconscious mind is the creative aspect of the mind that’s capable of shaping and producing material realities, both inwardly and outwardly. It does this by turning a feeling or idea into a reality in the faculty of the imagination. Being memory oriented, it acts to create our memories from actual experiences, replaying them as a means of continuing to create by way of them, and as the means of being fed an idea as a form of “seeded thought” that it then fashions into a reality as a form of virtual memory. The imagined idea as an original creation is formed and appears in the imagination in exactly the same way as an actual memory does. This virtual memory as an internal representation of an idea operates in exactly the same way as an actual memory creating a kind of blueprint or template as an internal experience that forms the basis for the correlating external experiences of the same kind.

This “virtual memory” is an image, scenario, or movie-like idea that’s translucent (like a reflection on glass) in nature (can be seen fully while looking at something else), and becomes our perceptual lens as a filtering mechanism that reorganizes the elements of our outer reality to match the theme and emotions of the inner one. The IR becomes a kind of template or map for structuring and navigating the outer experience. Because of this tendency to “perceive out of memory and IR’s”, we never directly see or experience things as they actually are (a part from us), but rather as we “remake them” through our perception of them. This perception based on or produced by an IR or memory, works through the same principles as value judgments and either makes something appear desirable, likeable, and pleasurable, or undesirable, despicable and unappealing, or disgusting somehow.

When we decide and say we’re no longer going to do something, but we continue to form it in our mind as pleasurable and desirable, we struggle to resist it and continue to want it. We make giving it up a painful experience and the longing for it never goes away, so we’re always “tempted” by it. If instead, realizing how the mind works, we change the IR we’re forming into something that’s disgusting, repulsive, and painful, then we have no trouble resisting it, and thoughts of it eventually go away altogether. When we no longer think about it, it’s no longer a part of us and it exercises no control over us. This is the accurate use of the will – to make a decision to take control of what’s normally and unconscious process, and inject instead the idea we want to create in its place – then change the IR of what we’re stopping or looking to transform, while embellishing and enhancing the IR of the new idea we’re replacing it with.

Internal Representations, like reality itself are formed through sensory attributes, qualities, and characteristics that either makes it up-close, in vivid color and compelling, or far-away, black and white and neutral. If we make something up-close, immediate, full Technicolor, and create it as a full sensory experience of what you’re seeing, hearing, feeling, touching, smelling or tasting, and what you’re telling yourself about the experience that gives it meaning, and you create it with very positive emotions that make it pleasurable and beautiful, you create a strong desire for it. This gives your subconscious a very compelling “memory” that it steadily move towards and into, while seeking it out and connecting with that same idea in your immediate outer environment. If you then neutralize the current idea that you want to eliminate by turning it to black and white, pushing it out far into the distance so it seems far away, and assign negative sensory qualities and emotions to it, the subconscious, being given a more desirable alternative forgets about it, moves away from or avoids the old, eventually disconnecting from it all together outwardly, and moves instead into the fulfillment of the new and pleasurable idea.

The will is the active component of the conscious mind that can make new decisions that are not a part of its formative conditioning and habitual in nature, and can rule out one idea while replacing it with another. It impregnates the subconscious imagination with the seed as a unique idea that is then grown and formed into maturity in the imagination and manifests as an experience that bridges the inner with the outer, both of which are the creation of the subconscious mind as its offspring. The subconscious mind, when not being fed by its own personal will as an intentional idea for creating, absorbs instead the will of others as mental and emotional impressions or suggestions going on around it that it uses to generate thoughts in the imagination, and not only creates the individual (mind and body) according to those thoughts, but also creates the outer experience of those thoughts as its reality.

Anytime we passively take in an idea from outside of us (thoughts of another), and we form them into IR’s as a virtual reality, and make them our own by continuing to think about them, we’re choosing (unconsciously) to manifest and give life to the will of others through us. We’re literally lending our will to them, allowing them to determine us and the reality we experience as the perceptual lens we look through. The conscious, willful mind, is what’s traditionally called the “gate-keeper”, and is the aspect of the self that decides what’s allowed into the subconscious and what’s not. It analyzes, intuits, and evaluates the information to decide whether it’s true or not, valuable in some way, or would be beneficial as a means of upgrading the mental paradigm by incorporating it. It’s the “editor” that filters information through reasoning. It’s the part of our selves that’s always actively choosing even when we’re unaware (no choice is a choice) and decides what stays and what goes. It’s the aspect of the mind that has the ability to intentionally self-create through the active transformation of old ideas into new ones.

The Vibratory Structure of the Mind – Transforming your Mind through Self-Realization

Our Mind is always Absorbing and Digesting the Consciousness around us

In order to understand how to grow and develop our mind, we have to get a thorough understanding of the structure of the mind and how it operates according to this structure. The most fundamental Law that governs all of life as we know it, is the law of vibration. Everything in life is made up of energy, not energy as a form of electricity, but subtle energy as the primal essence of consciousness and intelligence itself. Vibration isn’t just shimmering photons whose movement between two parameters creates an illuminated astral, or ghost-like phenomena, but also has a self-organizing mechanism inherent in it, that shapes light into distinct patterns based on its vibratory frequency. Whatever frequency (rate and mode) something vibrates at moves it up and down a vibratory scale as levels and qualities of consciousness, much like a musical scale of octaves which build, expand, and increase as they move up the scale.

The pattern inherent within a vibration forms the “structure of the mind”, which is a multi-dimensional sphere-like flowing field that exists within the level of its vibratory frequency, and “breathes” (rotates by expanding and contracting) in a toroidal sphere-like motion, that merges into and absorbs, and integrates all the subtle energy within near proximity of it that’s of the same vibratory frequency. This absorption, digesting, assimilating, and elimination is the law of energy itself as resonance, sympathetic induction, modification, and coherence. We’re always in the process of exchanging energy as consciousness with everything and everyone around us, modifying and evolving our mental structure to be equivalent to our environment. This process of constant emanation, acquisition, integration, and discharge is the fundamental law of evolution that always keeps us in-sync with the outer environment within which we have to live, function, and survive. This constant energy exchange is occurring simultaneously at conscious, semi-conscious, and unconscious levels all the time.

This oscillating field of energy, known as the mind, is a single entity that’s dual in nature and exists on several corresponding planes simultaneously. It’s an electromagnetic field that flows in a rotational expanding and contracting movement, which expands outward from its center, then folds back on itself and is absorbed back into its core. This field is dual in nature (masculine and feminine), and moves as two fields spiraling in opposite directions simultaneously, creating a stabilized, self-perpetuating system that’s much like a whirlpool. It has a center that’s bonded to a material body, and a peripheral range extending quite some distance from the body. This field has a dual nature as gross and subtle, with the strongest, concentrated part three to four feet from the body, where energy exchange is immediate and intense and felt in a direct (conscious) manner, and as it moves further out, it gradually becomes more subtle in nature, and is no longer experienced in a sharp, pronounced manner, but rather as a notion, feeling, or distant thought (semi-conscious) that has a fleeting quality to it. Our mind, as an electromagnetic field that extends quite some distance from our body in a tiered gradation, still possesses the self-organizing mechanism inherent in vibration itself, and not only influences and modifies the formation and organization of all other mind fields in near proximity to it, but also has a larger organizing quality, that not only attracts or magnetizes whatever is of the same quality as itself, but organizes the greater events of our life, by forming them into indigenous patterns.

While the gross energy in our immediate environment comes quickly and felt strongly, then subsides and dissipates almost as quickly as it came, producing short term effects of a heightened intensity, the subtle aspects that extend great distances from the body, organize larger events into the same thematic pattern, that involve numerous objects, people, and a dynamic series of correlated events, that come into fruition over an extended period of time through synchronicity. Whatever our vibration (state-of-mind) is, not only creates our life experiences in the moment, and how we influence and are influenced by everything around us, but is also producing our destiny as the same patterns happening over greater and greater amounts of time. Whatever our vibration determines the patterns of our life as habits, rituals, and tendencies that we simply repeat over and over, sometimes throughout the entire life of our body. Through energy that we absorb and integrate that’s of a similar nature to us, we’re always in the process of undergoing a constant form of transformation, but it’s usually within the same frequency or range of vibration because that’s all we can naturally comprehend, relate to, and exist in relationship with.

Our entire experience, whether past, present, or future, is produced by our mental paradigm as a dynamic living model that we not only “look through” to perceive and experience the world around us by way of it, but also literally interacts with the entire energetic world, forming it into similar patterns through a stimulating (electric) mechanism, that activates certain qualities, while deactivating others, modifying the form and appearance it takes on. All energy as the subtle energy of pure consciousness, is in a constant state of a shimmering luster, dynamically changing form according to its interactions, absorption, digestion, and repulsion on a moment by moment basis. Yet most of these changes are so subtle and automatic in nature, always being within the same range of vibration that we are, that we don’t even notice them, and maintain a consistent experience of reality while undergoing a constant, yet gradual form of transformation as an evolutionary process.

While many people think that a paradigm shift takes place through a moment of inspiration and sudden realization, or what they call a “ah-ha” moment, where you suddenly get something you couldn’t see before, it usually happens in much more of a gradual fashion of learning and obtaining knowledge that’s applied at the practical level in order to gain realization around it that serves to consistently expand your ability to conceive of greater and greater aspects of reality that are subtle in nature, and require you to move beyond previously set boundaries in incremental steps, until a form of threshold is crossed. We have to absorb and assimilate information that’s at the very outer edge of our current perception in order to be able to absorb and digest it. If it’s too far out or foreign to our current paradigm (frequency), we literally can’t absorb or comprehend it by resonating with it, and therefore act to reject it or fail to be able to see it, and it doesn’t produce a realization as the means of stretching our paradigm to include it.

Once an idea is fully realized, whether through a gradual process of study, learning and acquiring new information, or through a sudden moment of realization that simply comes to us out of nowhere or through an association, and through the realization of it as an inner experience we absorb and incorporate it, and it acts to upgrade and modify every aspect of our paradigm that it’s involved in or a part of, automatically. This is what the term “shift” means, every aspect of the internal form of the mind is modified by the new information, and has a systematic adjustment that changes the entire structure. Once this modification of the mind takes place, what was realized becomes a normal part of everyday perceptions. We readily perceive the idea as a part of our everyday reality, and therefore, the reality naturally produced or organized by our mind changes accordingly. We literally see new versions of reality. We actually experience a shift in our vibratory frequency and vibrate at a new expanded level and quality.

The vibratory frequency of our mind forms a natural structure as a “model of the world” that projects and tunes us into a certain type of reality as our perception and experience of what we otherwise call an objective, universal, or shared reality. While the greater shared reality consists of the same basic elements for everybody who’s a part of it, what we “see” in those elements and what aspects we notice or don’t notice, how we arrange information as patterns that tell stories about things, is unique to everyone, and is the creative nature of the individual mind operating below the level of awareness in what seems like an automatic fashion.  As we incorporate new information into our mind through studying, applying knowledge, and life experiences, our reality shifts and is “in-formed” by way of it. But learning doesn’t come through memorizing what’s presented as factual or through mental speculation, but rather through applying the information through practice of some sort to create an experience of it. L-earn, by living it we earn it. Through the experience it provides we gain realization of it as a reality (we become one with it and give it expression through us) and it’s integrated into our mind as a memory. Our mind is structured by memory as actual experience. To have “knowledge of” something, only comes through an intimacy with it.

Once a paradigm shift takes place, we live out of a different experience of reality, and no longer relate to our previous state. As we grow through constant study, application and acquisition of knowledge, we can no longer recall the reality of our previous states. We lose touch with them, and though we can recall the events of our life in an objective manner, we can’t remember the reality we were in when they occurred in terms of how we experienced them at the personal level, and we can no longer relate to who we were when we were going through them. As our mind grows and expands to greater and greater levels of reality, and we vibrate at a significantly different level over an extended period of time (30 – 40 years), our personality and identity changes along with it, and we no longer identify with previous levels. We literally lose our ability to remember them from the same mentality we were in when we created them. We literally become “different people”, live in a different level of reality, and serve to create and engage in different types of activities. This is because once our vibration shifts to a high enough level (out of the previous range), we no longer resonate with lower levels.

The act of “remembering” (re-member), is viewing reality from within it, by being of the same consciousness that produced it. When we’re no longer a member of the quality of consciousness producing and conceiving of that level of reality, we can’t recall it as an experience. While we can recall the factual event itself, we relate to it in a whole new way, and experience it through a different level of consciousness, which evolves the event of the memory to the current level of consciousness. We literally transform our memories by growing and expanding our consciousness which acts to “reinterpret them”. All memory is “state based”, and can only be relived from the same state that it was created in. This is the true secret to healing, which only comes through conscious growth and moving to a higher (more expanded) vibration that no longer perceives or acts to produce the previous reality. The saying “a problem can’t be solved by the same mind that created it”, is identifying this phenomenon, and provides us with the key to transforming all “problems” in our life, not by “working with them” within the level they occur, but by transcending them.

The Intuitive Interpretation of Subtle Energy – How to Read Energy

All Senses are Interchangeable

In order to understand this idea, we have to first realize the relationship between what we call material reality and the mind, or the invisible consciousness that’s always perceiving and interacting with itself within the material world. Our physical senses; sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste, are how we cognitively experience what we call material reality. The only things that are “real” are perceived with the senses, and what’s not real, can’t be perceived with the senses. Here, of course, the word “real” means of a material nature. Naturally it takes material senses, or what’s of the same nature to perceive anything within the same “plane” or level of consciousness. Invisible forces or what we call subtle energy, which is what we know “holds together” the material world (an atom is a group of particles held together while in motion by invisible forces) as different forms or ideas, is sensed (experienced) as a “feeling” that systematically forms into an idea as an inner imagining that replicates a material idea.

Another way we can look at this idea, is by realizing that any sensory aspect, will produce all the other ones automatically. For example, you can taste a color, smell it, hear it, and get a mental image of a form and texture associate with the color. Likewise, the same color produces a psychological effect by making you feel a certain way or putting you in a distinct mood when seeing it, being around it, or thinking of it. The same holds true for any of the other senses. A smell will produce a mental image, has a color associated with it, a taste, and makes you feel a certain way. Through a natural chain-of-association any sensory experience stimulates the other ones automatically. All aspects of reality contain all other aspects simultaneously as a coherent idea or impression of reality. Likewise, all sensory stimulation produces a feeling as a state-of-mind or mood. This feeling as a state, is purely invisible and has no material properties (sensory), though it can systematically “produce” a mental impression infused with or comprised of sensory properties.

Though the material – sensory world – is dual in nature and perceived (experienced) as being a dynamic conglomeration of individual things that are all a part from each other (particles revolving around a nucleus held together as a single entity by empty space) and opposite (opposing) each other, in reality they are all a product of invisible forces or consciousness that produces them by birthing them. All reality is a formula of different qualities and properties combined to form unique patterns as ideas that are perceived as physical forms, spread out in space as a whole idea comprised of different parts, all in relationship with and contrasting each other. All interconnected as a form of hologram, where any one aspect contains within it all other aspects as a systematic unfoldment that brings into physical form an invisible idea by shaping light (photons) into sensory representations as mental concepts. We form what starts in our mind as a transparent idea into a reality as a working concept in order to conceive of it and ultimately come to understand of it. All creation comes as transparent ideas that are brought into physical reality as a conception or practical concept. All reality as we know it, is a product of the imagination that takes a feeling (vibration), fixates on it internally, and allows it to spontaneously unfold in the mind as a living form or reality. This conceptual form becomes the blueprint for producing it as an “actual” material reality. Everything that has ever become “created” began as an idea in the imagination (mind’s eye).

Through this same process, we can conceive of the consciousness infused in or inhabiting an object or material form. Consciousness itself exists a part from and independent of the material form, and has the natural ability to pass through and enter a form, inhabiting it, and expressing through it. The form is the vibratory equivalent of the energy that’s capable of using it as a vehicle for expression, and possesses the same qualities as physical attributes. Consciousness, as vibration, is magnetized into matter through resonance, and becomes the “life” of the form in essence, as its internal nature, personality, and natural behaviors it takes on and processes it systematically engages in. Normal material forms of lower consciousness, that don’t have any creative ability, simply act as a receptor for absorbing the consciousness around it. It acts as a carrier for/of consciousness, which acts to impregnate it. Matter is the passive aspect of consciousness, and spirit (life-force) is the active component. The active force of the same nature (vibration) enters into matter (sympathetic induction) as the passive component and alters it to form joint consciousness as a modified vibration (coherence).

This energy that emanates from material objects as the consciousness infused in it (bonded with it), can be sensed as a feeling. If we simply focus on the feeling it gives us internally, with an open mind that’s not controlling it, a mental impression forms as an idea that has sensory properties – a form, texture or quality, sound, color, smell, taste, and so on – that reveals it’s true inner nature or energetic potential. All this takes place in the mind’s eye as an imaginary process of consciousness forming a living pattern as an idea out of light (astral substance). This imaginary idea comes in its transparent state as a mental impression. This metal impression shows us the “inner nature” or quality of consciousness inhabiting the form, or that the form is acting as a vehicle for.

The way to tell the difference between true intuition as an inner knowing and your own imagined idea about something, is to create an open and unbiased mind that’s free from all personal reaction as a judgment or opinion about it, and allow the process to take place from a completely neutral state. By allowing a feeling to enter into us without an intention or direct connection to it, and no need whatsoever to control or interpret it to make it mean something, and we allow it instead to reveal itself to us “as it is”, a part from us, we can perceive the nature of it in very accurate terms. Again, once we start reacting to it in any way, or trying to decide what it means, we corrupt it and modify it to our own means. This is one of the reason why releasing the tendency to judge everything or perceive it through our judgment of it is so important. As long as we’re judging, we’re unable to see the true nature of things, and instead only see our judgments about it. The idea inherent in the judgment takes control of our imagination and forms the idea that corresponds to the judgment instead. Our mind has the direct ability to shape sensory reality to match our beliefs about it. We only see in things outside of us the same ideas we nourish and give life to inside of us. In order to perceive things as they truly are, we have to cultivate a neutral and non-opinionated mind. We have to relinquish all need to control and therefore determine by our natural ability to willfully shape things.

Our Creative Power lies in our Imagination – “Perception as an Interpretation is a Product of the Imagination”

The imagination is the faculty of the mind that we use for creating reality as an internal experience. We first form our experiences by how we imagine them to give them meaning, which forms how we remember them, and is also used to recollect memories and think about them by replaying them in our mind. So we’re always in the process of creating memory by how we imagine our reality creating our personal experience of it by the story we tell about it, and then by associating our present reality to the memory of the past using it to shape the present to be about the same thing, forming it into the same type of story. The story we tell about things, which forms a kind of theme, is what gives our life consistency. Our life’s theme as the primary story we tell about things comes from how we’ve created all our experiences by telling a consistent story about them. This memory making ability as a form of multiplying and reproducing thematic experiences shaped by meaning and significance, are all done by how we imagine the outer world by shaping it into a consistent storyline.

 
As we go through our day, we are constantly forming associations to memories and using those associations to form similar interpretations of the present. The themes of the past become the program that utilizes our creative imagination with its primary pattern for creating a thematic reality and creating ourselves by identifying with our own story about things. As we tell a story about things, we get a sense of ourselves by way of that story, and form our identity out of it. Our identity and the story we act naturally to tell by how we interpret the events of our outer reality is a primary function of the imagination. Our imagination forms our perceptual lens and determines how we see things, and what we see “in” things. We can only see and make sense out of what matches our model, and can easily be turned into our story about things. Even when they actually have nothing to do with us or our story, we translate them to mean the same thing. In this way, we’re always shaping other people and events to be “like us”, through the story we tell about them which describes them using the same qualities as we poses.

Just as creative ideas are also received by and formed in the imagination, all memory is replayed and constantly being modified in the imagination. Each time we recall a memory as an association to the present, and use it to shape the present with the same meaning, we also modify the memory by adapting it to a new set of circumstances, and permanently alter it by doing so. While many of us believe memory is stagnate and fixed and that we remember them accurately, and that we recall them in the same way we formed them, in reality memory is constantly evolving through adaptation to the present situations, and our state of mind when applying it. Though we apply memories to an infinite number of new situations as a means of shaping them into congruent experiences, the theme of the memory remains intact and holds true no matter how we change the telling. So if the meaning of our memory is “I’m not loved”, and the memory becomes a story that provides evidence of this, then even when we use the same memory in the present to tell the same type of story about it, and we change “how” we tell it, it’ll still “mean” we’re not loved.

 
Our imagination is the primary creative faculty of the mind that’s used to create our personal experience of an outer, objective reality, making it into a subjective “inner reality” as a personalization of a universal theme. While we all share and have in common the outer reality as a neutral set of events that we experience, each individual sharing the same outer event is creating a unique experience of it by how they filter the event through their paradigm as their perceptual lens that forms it into an interpretation as a variation reshaped to tell a somewhat different story using it. Each person notices different things within the situation, places a different emphasis on them, and organizes them into a new pattern that uses only some of the elements that lend themselves to telling a certain kind of story. Any element that doesn’t match their storyline, isn’t “seen” (noticed), or is completely ignored, abstracting instead only what can be readily used as the elements of their life’s theme. Through our life’s theme, we form our life’s story, and we not only shape ourselves by way of that story, but shape everyone else by way of it also. Because of this “perceptual lens” that we look through to interpret the world, we shape everyone else to be “like us” and have the same qualities and character we have, which is necessary to keep telling our story about things, and is the story our mind is designed to tell by how it’s structured. It doesn’t have the perceptions necessary to tell a different kind of story.

Because of this natural tendency of the human mind to create out of accumulated memories of it’s own making, the imagination, which also has the potential to be able to shape brand new perceptions of reality never experienced before, or as a unique interpretation of the present that’s not based on the past, it’s used instead to repeat the past and maintain redundant patterns that keep it locked into it’s own illusions. The imagination is usually used instead to simply relive whatever we’ve formed a memory of, whether through a living experience, or something we fantasized about, or imagined as thoughts being given to or taught to us by others, and while it still “creates” to a certain extent, it doesn’t create in the sense of being able to determine our own feelings, thoughts, and imaginings to perceive the present as dissociated from the past, and be able to create ourselves in new ways by learning how to tell new stories and evolve ourselves according to those stories.

 

Karma, which is living out of the same thematic forms of memories that recreate the same type of dynamics and behaviors over and over, prevents us from evolving in any measurable form. Instinct, as memory that produces automatic behaviors, is the product of the “lower mind” that we share with the animal kingdom, which lacks a higher mind and the ability to create in new and unique ways. Evolution within the animal / physical plane takes eons to produce the smallest of changes which usually come through a form of mutation, or freak accident. We as humans are born with a higher capacity to create ourselves and our reality by how we use the creative capacity of our imagination to break the patterns of memories and form whole new perceptions instead that serve to reshape and evolve our mental paradigm as accumulated memories to new and higher forms of experience. We are not bound to simply living out of our conditioning, but can “choose” to develop ourselves in an intentional and deliberate manner by simply choosing to begin telling a new kind of story that will require us to use latent qualities that will transform and evolve our character to new forms of expression.

This creative ability of the mind is masterful use of our own imagination to let go of our attachment to our “story about things”, and our identity that formed as a result of our story, and make a conscious decision about the type of person we want to be instead, what qualities we’d have to embrace and bring into expression in order to do that, and what kind of story we would tell by how we acted and lived our life as a result. We can then practice forming experiences of ourselves “as” these qualities and employing these characteristics by imagining them and “acting them out”. Practicing “being that way” through a form of pretending and rehearsing where we get good at forming our new behaviors to the point where they start coming naturally. We can also set rules for ourselves through a form of moral code that we hold ourselves to that prevent us from repeating and continuing to live out of undesirable perceptions that form us according to them. One of the most standard practices for doing this is to recognize our negative traits and vices, and what positive trait and virtue we’d like to employ instead, and make a conscious effort to transform them using our will. Our will is our ability to first imagine something inwardly then act it out outwardly. In this way, we become self-aware and take the necessary steps to begin creating ourselves with full awareness of what we’re doing and how we’re being.

 
To employ any new idea, simply formulate first in your imagination creating a reality out of it, apply it to your everyday situation as an action or behavior of some sort, then imagine the situations that normally stimulated the “old behaviors and attitude”, and employ the “new behavior and attitude” in it’s place. Practice this over and over until it starts becoming natural and easy to do, while simultaneously practicing it in your daily life. By associating a new behavior or perception to the same stimulus or trigger, you don’t change anything or anyone else; you simply change your response to everyone and everything else. All change can only require you to do. When we require someone else to change in order for us to be able to, we sabotage ourselves, and remain stuck in the same reactive patterns. All change begins inwardly, by changing your self and your perception of things, which then become the template or pathway for outer expression as actual self-directed behaviors.

Becoming more Conscious: Learning how to Listen to your Body

As a society, we’ve been trained to dwell in a vast sea of distracted thoughts and engage in a random, scattered and often non-congruent form of thinking as a part of our daily communications with others. We live the greater part of our life without ever being truly present within ourselves and our immediate outer reality. We constantly look to other people’s opinions and experiences with things and adopt them as our own, often with complete trust that lacks the only form of validation there actually is, knowledge that comes to us through experience that brings self-realization. The only way we can truly know if something is “true” is through the experience of it. To have “knowledge of” something, is to be intimate with it as being the “same thing”.

 
Our body is always in the process of communicating with us and giving us a direct form of feedback. It’s always responding to the energy around us and how it feels, to what we just ate and the manner in which we ate it, and to what we’re dwelling in as the thoughts that prevent us from being self-aware, and keep us instead always residing in the detached space just outside of our body, and remain, for the most part, completely unaware of how we’re feeling. Yet our body is always in the process of interacting with the world around us in numerous ways, and is always providing us with immediate feedback, all we have to do is learn to calm our mind, focus our attention inward, and become aware of how we feel at any given moment.

 
While our body is most responsive to our own thoughts and imaginings, which actually act as a natural form of self-programming, it’s also giving us a constant form of feedback on the energy that exists in places, being radiated by the people around us, about the emotional state and underlying agenda’s of those we’re interacting with, the quality of the air we’re breathing, the food we just ate, and so on. Our body, which is synonymous with our subconscious mind, is a lot like a bio-electric antenna that’s always in the process of broadcasting, receiving, and processing information that exists all around us that we’re always interacting and exchanging energy with at the subtle level that lies just beneath our normal awareness.

 
The mind is the electromagnetic field that surrounds, envelops, and somewhat penetrates the body, shaped like a large revolving sphere of energy that pulsates in a rhythmic flow much like breathing. It unfolds and extends out into your immediate environment and forms resonance (magnetizes) with whatever is of the same vibratory frequency (within an acceptable range) or inner nature as we are, magnetizing and attaching it, then enfolding and bringing the information back into the  core of our body where it’s “sensed” and felt. The complementary aspects of the information being received that can be readily conformed to our existing model are synthesized into our overall system, altering it slightly (or sometimes drastically), shifting our frequency as an adjustment or modification, which becomes a new emanation of the slightly altered frequency. Likewise, any obsolete information is then discharged or pulsated outwards, using some to magnetize new information while discharging others, releasing it to be recycled. This constant flow and exchange is how the inner atmosphere of the body is always being adjusted to match the outer atmosphere as the most basic function of evolution.

This same process of digestion and metabolism that the physical world is always undergoing, also governs the energetic realm of the mind that’s largely thought driven. Just as the molecules of the air we breathe becomes the molecules we use to build our body at the cellular level, which is in a constant state of regeneration. The energy as consciousness that exists all around us, is being magnetically digested and assimilated to regenerate our energetic matrix as our mental paradigm. This usually happens without our awareness because it’s subtle and gradual in nature and comes more as “feelings” that have an emotional quality to them, and when taken on, awaken those same emotions in us, creating the ideal conditions for their complementary thought-forms. Sometimes this is so subtle that we don’t readily recognize it, and at other times it’s quite pronounced and produces an emotional reaction that can be quite volatile.

 
The other reason it can seem so subtle that it goes unrecognized is because many people are consumed with the thoughts running through their mind that have nothing to do with what’s actually going on around them, and the imagined scenarios as story lines they’re always dwelling in that render them virtually unconscious to the present. While many bodily changes may be taking place in response to the energy around them, they’re so caught up in the body sensations taking place in response to their own thoughts, and so they fail to recognize them. Because of this tendency to be constantly distracted with thoughts that don’t pertain to the present, and being disconnected from our own body, much of the information our body is sending us goes ignored, until of course a state of emergency is reached and the body begins communicating in a different language, the language of physical pain, designed to get us to stop ignoring it and pay attention because a crisis is developing that could result in a life threatening event.

 
The primary difference between the two complementary aspects of the mind, the subconscious and self-conscious, is that the subconscious-body mind, doesn’t perceive “time”. It’s not distracted with imagined realities that aren’t actually real in the present moment. The subconscious is always present, always aware of what’s actually going on in its immediate environment, and making adjustments accordingly. It doesn’t create imagined realities of the past or the future that it lives out of in place of the actual present reality. The subconscious lives in the present and is “experiential” in nature, and emotionally connected to everything around it. It’s interacting with the “actual reality”, and is what produces automatic behaviors, that we do all the time without thinking about them.

 
The self-conscious mind is the verbal, language oriented, thought driven aspect of the mind that’s always distracted with its own thoughts about things that hardly ever have anything to do with the present moment. It’s the “living in your head” thing that most people do that exists “in time” (past and future), and is living an illusion in place of actual experience produced by being present. These thoughts and imaginings, usually as replaying memory, or projecting memory into the future creating a similar scenario as a prediction that forms an expectation of what’s to come, also act to provide the subconscious mind with a form of substitute reality that it perceives much like an actual reality, that programs it by providing it with a form of memory as actual information about the environment that modifies it in preparation for that reality. We are literally always in the process of programming ourselves through our imagined thoughts.

 
The imagined states we live out of as obsessive thoughts act to keep us prepared for that reality as an expectation that becomes our perceptual filter. The mind, which extends quite some distance from the body, is always gathering information from the environment and sending it back to the body, so the body can “prepare” for what’s coming. It adjusts to the perceived environment that it exists and needs to survive within. By closing down and clearing our mind of obsessive thoughts that aren’t real in the present, and turning our attention inward to our body, becoming aware of all the sensations and how we’re feeling, we can use our body as a means of measuring and interpreting everything around us in terms of how it makes us feel. We can sense whether we feel relaxed and calm, being stimulated with a distinct emotional sensation, or stirred with an inner turmoil, or have a sick and queezy feeling as an adverse reaction to something. While our body doesn’t communicate with us in words as verbal language, it does operate according to the law of analogies and correspondences, and if we concentrate on a feeling sensation in our body while in a passive mind-set, a natural mental impression will form as a reality associated to the feeling, which is a form of metaphor for understanding the nature of what’s causing the sensation. Our inner feelings are always interacting with the “inner nature” of everything else, and so reveal to us their “true” nature as their energetic constitution, regardless of what their outer appearance is like.

When we become present in our life, form an awareness of our body and how we feel, we can use our body as a gauge or a form of navigation system. We can begin to realize what produces a “good effect” and what produces a “bad effect”, and what that’s telling us. We can realize the quality of consciousness present in different environments, in other people, in our relationships, in the air we breathe, in the food we eat and the water we drink, and so on. Our body is always giving us feedback about how things feel. All we have to do is become present in our body, form a relationship with it, sense and feel what’s happening within us, and use that information as a guide for what to do and what not to do. Our body let’s us know what to increase and have more of, and what to decrease or eliminate all together. It serves as a guide for what relationships to maintain, and which ones to let go. For what types of food to eat, and how to make health promoting, energizing dietary changes that will leave us feeling good.

 
Many of what we call illness and disease are actually direct feedback from our body about the lifestyle we’re living, in an attempt to provide us with what we need to make the changes necessary to restore our body to health, and a positive, high energy, feel-good state. For example, lactose intolerance is not something you should take a pill for so you can keep on drinking milk and eating cheese, it’s your body’s way of telling you it can’t digest it, and quit consuming it. Heart disease and hypertension is a condition caused by how you’re living, not only in dietary terms, but also your stress level and habitual emotional state that frames reality in a way that causes you to react negatively to your own thoughts about things. It’s your body’s way of saying you’re emotional thoughts and reactive behavior are destructive and will ultimately end up killing you if you don’t change it. Diabetes is calling your attention to the nature of your diet, and the state of your body in terms of being overweight, or not exercising. You’re maintaining a lifestyle and mental state that’s detrimental to your health. Again, it’s not warranting medication of some kind so you can keep on doing what you’re doing that’s killing yourself, it’s your body’s way of talking to you, providing you with evidence and feedback as direct and immediate affects, that also provide you with the information you need on how and what to change.

 
By becoming present in our body, and in our life in general, and removing our attention from unproductive emotional thoughts, and instead directing our attention to what’s going on within us and around us, we can realize what our body is prompting us to do by how we feel. When you choose a meal, choose one that you know is nutritious and will create a healthy happy body. As you eat it, think only about how healthy it is, and how you’re eating healthy because you love your body. After you’re done eating, sit quietly for a few minutes, and notice how your body feels in response to what you just gave it. Learn how to dialogue with your body through thoughts that form a strong feeling in your body. The “feeling” produced by your thoughts “is” the communication with your body, it’s an effect in the body as the equivalent of your thoughts. It’s not enough to go through the motions of saying it, you’ve got to mean it! You have to create the emotional expression of what you’re saying to yourself. Thought without feeling has no power to create.

Likewise, when you go places, engage in activities, or are around certain people, calm your mind, become present and neutral, and notice how you’re feeling and what you’re sensing. Be present with the energy and see what emotional quality it has, and what mental impressions it naturally forms. Don’t force the interpretation or allow your normal judgmental mind to kick in and start running stuff, simply allow yourself to notice it, without needing to change it. Remain unattached to what you’re sensing. Don’t try and explain it or make it mean something, just sense it as it actually is. Then, see it for what it actually is, your body giving you immediate feedback as to the consciousness and energy of the person, people, or activity you’re engaged in. Use that neutral and unbiased information as factual and true to guide your decisions and how you interact. Don’t let your emotional mind come back in and start running your habitual mental script in the new situation, recreating it to mean the same thing.

 
By learning to relax, control our anxious thoughts always competing for our attention, and directing our attention instead into the present moment, and experiencing things by way of our body and the actual energy and consciousness that’s present with us, we can gain a whole new sense of ourselves and our relationship with life. We can become truly creative in the moment by directing our actions with full awareness and by interacting with what’s actually present with us. We can learn to see people and things as they actually are rather than as we reshape them to be like us through our biased judgments and habitual way of thinking and perceiving that creates illusions in place of reality.

 
When we walk into any situation with preconceived notions, and our perceptual lens rigidly formed by our judgments, that for the most part rob us of our ability to see others and reality as it actually is, apart from us, and unique unto itself, we simultaneously rob ourselves of the possibility for brand new experiences. By developing the ability to be present in our body and with the people and things around us, we can begin experiencing life and others in a whole new way. We can acquire the information and feedback we need to begin living our life in a much more conscious and aware fashion, and begin creating in a deliberate and precise manner as a result. We can learn how to live in our heart rather than in our head.

 
Simply begin observing your own mind, your own tendencies, and notice what you tend to think about in an automatic and habitual fashion, and what stories run through your mind that glaze over the present with memories of the past and keep you in a hopelessly distracted state, and recognize what it is that keeps you from being present . . . . and through this self-awareness, start practicing directing your mind to remain focused in the present and forming an awareness of how you’re feeling in relationship to your environment. Learn how to remain aware of your body and tuned into what you’re sensing through your body and what information your body’s always in the process of giving you. Tune out of the imagined reality and tune into the real reality. All opportunities only exist in the present moment. Tomorrow is being created today. You’re only ability to act, is in this moment.

Creative Sexuality – “Sensuous Expression”

All experience in the ultimate sense is a form of imagination or personal interpretation of neutral facts that determine what qualities we imbue things with, which create certain types of experiences. We could safely say that sex is 80% imagination, even when we are actually having it. How we use our mind to create the experience, determines the level of pleasure it offers as a result. Like most things, if we have bad, mundane or uninteresting experiences it’s a direct reflection of our own creative ability and mental attitude to a certain extent. If we simply blame it on our lover, we are not only making a fundamental error in our thinking, but we are missing the opportunity to exercise deeper forms of physical expression by how we first imagine it, “get into it”, act to provoke it, or how we go about it.

The basis of Sacred Sexuality is to bring heightened awareness, absolute presence and a kind of meditative quality of sensory pleasure and spontaneous exploration to the sexual act. As with all of life, we are responsible for creating our own experiences. If we know how to do this and learn to practice it masterfully, our sex life and ability to create intimate experiences by feeling at one with our lover, sex becomes enlivening, fresh, and fills us with deep feelings of desire, openness, and vulnerability. It never becomes boring, ritualistic or mundane, even though our sexual life goes through cycles and stages just like every other aspect of our life does. Each experience is perceived as new, immediate and fully open to whatever the moment calls for. Spontaneity and provocative playfulness must be maintained and encouraged.

Sex is meant to be fulfilling at all levels of our being, not just with the aim of having an orgasm. In Sacred Sexuality, the orgasm is not the actual goal. It is the ability to become fully enthralled with sensuous pleasure that we consciously build and intensify while holding and maintaining it at a heightened level of pleasure that is just short of the actual orgasm. This not only increases our ability to handle more intense forms of energy, but allows us to feel intense pleasure for extended periods of time, rather than a quick fix, or sex that lasts 5 minutes. In Kundalini, we must develop the ability to handle much stronger currents of energy without blowing a circuit. To increase our capacity for higher vibratory frequencies, we have to develop our ability to hold within our body feelings of intense pleasure that are expansive in nature. Love, from an energetic perspective expands, grows and multiplies . . . it increases and amplifies itself. Tantra, as a sensuous art-form, teaches us how to do this.

Love

Sex as an experience of intense love, is extremely gratifying emotionally, as affection that is deeply nourishing, mentally comforting, and promotes feelings of safety that allow for complete surrender and abandon, which is only possible through intimate trust and acceptance by and of our lover. As with all creative expression we have a range that serves a variety of moods – whether sweetly and with great tenderness, or playfully teasing and flirting . . . or aggressive and somewhat animalistic. Whatever serves the imagination and seems appropriate in the moment as a playful and erotic dance between sensuous lovers that is born as a reflection of the moment and allowed to take on a life of its own.

To meditate during sex, or intimate moments of giving and receiving warm delicious affection, is to relax into your body, turn your attention inward and become fully engrossed in the physical sensations that are consuming you with tantalizing pleasure. To focus on the sensuous experience of touch, texture and temperature, wet and moist, or soft and dry . . . or the exotic image of beauty, dreamy and impressionistic, soft flowing curves with no distinct lines. Perhaps your inner response to the smell of warm skin, and the moist breath falling around you like morning dew teasing your mouth to explore and lick as if caressing with your fingertips. Get lost in the moment, and allow time to stand still and disappear from your awareness. Step into the flow and allow your body to respond intimately to/with your lovers every move.

Allow the energy to move through you, as you. Don’t try to contain it, hold it back or make it wrong. Instead allow and encourage by how you respond to it. Be present in the midst of intense pleasure while holding it in your body for prolonged periods. Build and intensify, then hold momentarily . . . then relax. Teach your body how to hold higher levels of pleasure without exploding letting it overwhelm you. Relish in it and allow it to consume you with complete abandon. Then, when you do decide to have your orgasm together, it will reach higher levels of intense pleasure, while lasting much longer. You will be able to experience the intensity of an orgasm for longer periods while not becoming overwhelmed. You will literally train your body and mind how to have greater and greater levels of pleasure as love in physical form. And the best part . . . you share it with your lover as the greatest gift of love, co-created as pure experience.
