How we unknowingly act as the means for Promoting Mass Propaganda

There’s always a very fundamental form of paradox playing out in terms of what we focus on and think about, and what we act to participate in co-creating as a result. In reality, there’s no such thing as “fighting against” something as a means of creating its opposite or what acts as a solution that’s designed to remedy it somehow. The “war against drugs” campaign only acted to produce more drug use. MADD – mother against drunk drivers – only produced more drunk drivers. Horror stories that saturated the media of “leaking breast implants” caused an enormous surge in women who opted for fake breasts.

Whenever we act to promote and distribute what we “oppose” and are trying to resolve or eliminate, we’re actually acting to co-create and expand. This is because we fail to understand the most basic principle of our own mind and how it operates to produce reality. As a general rule, whatever we focus on with emotional intensity of any kind, good or bad, we steadily move into, produce behaviors out of, and act to create more experiences of the same nature. Whatever we “think about” in a consistent manner we develop into a detailed reality in our mind, and it becomes a kind of “creative directive” for our subconscious to connect with in the outer environment and create more of.

While we can think we’re acting to “inform” and make people aware of the problems, what we may be actually doing is acting as a form of “distribution mechanism” that promotes and propagates the very idea we’re “against”. By looking at the laws governing our own mind, we can come to realize how it works and begin using it in a natural and productive way to create in a more conscious and deliberate manner.

The Relationship of Complementary Opposites

Our material mind has two basic components – the subconscious and self-conscious – that work in tandem with each other to produce what we experience as a unified reality. While many have very little actual awareness of their subconscious (commonly called the “unconscious” mind), it’s actually the powerhouse of the two, especially in terms of producing realities as an experience. The subconscious is what we can think of as the feminine aspect of the mind that’s seeded by the masculine aspect of the self-aware mind, and together produce a consistent experience of both self and the reality of the self.

The self-conscious mind is the aspect most are aware of and is what forms all of our perceptions as an awareness of the outer world (which is actually produced by the subconscious), and forms an “interpretation” of all outer events to give them meaning. The self-conscious is the aspect that possesses the power of choice and selects what we focus on, think about, and make conscious decisions about what to do and what not to do. It has the ability to reason and evaluate ideas and situations, and forms interpretations in terms of what’s good or bad, right or wrong, and plays out the scenarios produced by possible decisions to see what their consequences would be as the means of making intelligent decisions. This is what we call the active component that acts as the “gatekeeper” for the subconscious, which is the passive component, and acts to “seed” the subconscious with whatever it decides it “wants” to create.

The subconscious is the passive and receptive (feminine) aspect that lacks the ability to analyze and make decisions, or evaluate the moral nature of things. It doesn’t work out of ideas of right and wrong, and simply takes whatever idea the self-conscious (masculine) “gives it” by concentrating and dwelling in it repeatedly. The subconscious gives an idea life by magnetizing it (animal magnetism) and causing it to begin vibrating as a frequency that has the idea as a pattern inherent in it, along with a self-organizing mechanism that acts to organize all information available outside of us into the same metaphorical pattern. This forms what’s referred to as the “Law of Attraction”, which is more scientifically referred to as “resonance”.

The subconscious is “experiential” in nature (which means it doesn’t think in abstract terms), and is “impregnated with ideas” that are thought about in detail and turned into a direct experience as the reality of the idea. It operates in an automatic and repetitive fashion through “memory” as an experience of reality that provides it with a form of template as a metaphor for producing a consistent experience of reality. Because an actual memory and an imagined experience are both produced in the same way by “imagining them” (turning ideas into internal representations), it doesn’t know the difference (can’t discriminate and logically evaluate) between an actual memory and an imagined one, and uses them equally to produce corresponding realities of the same nature and kind.

The subconscious is emotionally driven and readily takes in any strong emotional charge being transmitted and projected and shapes it into a possible reality in the imagination by referencing memories of the same emotion. All of what we can think of as our “actual life memories”, the ones that can easily be recalled and are used in a continuous fashion to create more life experiences of the same nature, was all formed out of events that produced a strong emotion. They were the events that had a strong impact on us in some way.

Memories are used by the subconscious to produce instant perceptions, automatic behaviors as a reaction, and are referenced through association to emotional states. Whatever emotion is activated in us, determines what memories we access in reference to it, and what type of reaction we form. The way to produce a calculated behavior out of someone is by using the proper emotion that produces correlating and predictable behaviors. While the nature of the thought themselves are unique to each individual, emotions are universal and always produce the same “type” of behaviors.

 We work to influence any size group of people by choosing the idea we “want them to create” and attach a strong emotion to it in terms of how we “present it”, then amplifying it by sensationalizing it, talking about it (reporting) repeatedly, forming the idea as a reality in their mind. Whatever image we form in our imagination that’s attached to a strong emotion is the “seed” as a directive for the subconscious to produce “more of” as an experience. You can’t form an idea in the imagination of the subconscious, and then tell it “not to think about it”. It doesn’t have the ability to decide. The emotional image itself “is” the directive for creating as a reality. The “sensory reality” is the seed of creation.

The sensationalized idea forms filters as a perceptual lens that filters out everything that’s of a different nature, so that we only perceive around us what’s of the same reality as the one we gave it by imagining it with intensity. In this way it orders all information as possibilities in the outer world to match the inner one. While we have a tendency to think that the outer reality is separate from us and apart from our inner thoughts and imaginings, they’re actually an “extension” of each other. The outer world is produced as a projection of the inner world as our perception. Reality as we can know it only exists through our ability to perceive it. We reshape all matter to be of the same nature (inner) and likeness (metaphorical idea) as we are.

When news articles, scientific studies, videos, movies, songs, etc., are produced that induce a feeling of fear, hatred, or moral disgust, they act as a “hook” for our attention, and the more graphic and sensationalized they are, the more we obsess over them. Once we focus on them and think about them by building them into a sensory reality, we can’t seem to stop thinking about them. By continuing to think about them with emotional intensity we literally program ourselves with them where they become a natural part of our memories. We can recall them with vivid clarity, and think about them in a random fashion based on association. Once an idea is planted in our mind, it becomes a natural part of our memory base that forms our perception of reality. Once we clearly “see it” and experience it internally, it becomes a fundamental part of reality itself.

While we think this is a good thing because it promotes awareness as to what’s “really going on” so that we can avoid it, stop it, or act to contradict it, what’s actually happening is we’re being conditioned to participate in creating that reality as a form of “mass consciousness” while playing a role in how it functions. We vibrate at that frequency and attract to us more realities of the same nature, while being drawn into them as a relationship that’s connected by the same emotional state. Our mind shapes realities and brings them to life inside as a vibratory frequency. All vibration has an idea as a pattern inherent in it.

All ideas have an emotion married to them that not only becomes a fundamental part of our reality, but we also “behave” in a way that validates it and participates in co-creating it. We act “unconsciously” to initiate, promote, increase, intensify, and produce more of it. We talk about it, interjecting it into the mind of others, who likewise picture it in their mind as a reality, and they begin cooperating in co-creating it with us. We then act to “share information”, post it on social media repeatedly, and distribute it through whatever networks we’re a part of, and it becomes an inherent part of mass consciousness as a joint and mutually created reality that we all share in common. We become their method of distributing propaganda, and the means through which it becomes real.

As we play a role in co-creating certain types of reality by actively programming our own subconscious with them, we begin identify with them by sensing ourselves within that reality. Any event that seems to be happening on a mass scale usually gives us a feeling of having no power to “fight against” it or oppose it by resisting it, and tends to leave us feeling powerless and hopeless as a result. Once we feel hopeless to change things, we become a victim, and succumb to them by giving up and conforming. We comply and allow them to control and regulate us by lending them our will to create their desired reality. We readily absorb, adapt to, and become a part of the reality they present us with. We act to develop it into an actual reality as a belief that we then use to program our own subconscious by saying, here, give me more of this as an experience . . . and it does. The subconscious is a faithful servant of the willful mind, and gives birth to whatever it desires.

Learning to operate our own Mind and Will

When we learn how to use both aspects of our mind to skillfully create, we can act “on ourselves” to program ourselves with the reality we want to create. The analytical mind (self-conscious) can become aware of the “problem” and see the covert actions going on behind the scenes, and sense the true motivation behind them, without forming them into detailed emotional realities in the mind’s eye. We can detach from the emotion being used to present an idea, and tune instead to the “actual reality” as an objective and neutral event. It’s the “emotional content” that replaces objective reality with an illusion as a sensationalized idea that distorts it.

It’s the emotion that acts to control us and is the “formative” component that reshapes the actual event into an experience that acts to multiply, intensify, and produce more of the same type of emotion through the reality we create of it in our imagination. Fear paralyzes us, causes us to freeze and not take action, and we begin catering to the fear itself. Fear is one of the most powerful control mechanisms there are. Hatred causes us to form evil thoughts about each other that cause us to lash out, attack, and violently annihilate each other. It’s a very effective means of dividing and isolating whole sectors of the population, setting them against each other as enemies. It’s a strategic maneuver to “divide and conquer”, by getting us to kill each other.  

The self-conscious mind of outer awareness thinks and evaluates in objective terms that can conceptualize ideas in terms of what consequences they produce without distorting them with emotions. Once it “perceives” the objective reality in an idea, it uses that information to make a decision about it. Once it decides what action to take, or what reality would contradict and resolve the one it’s decided against, it then directs all attention to the reality it “wants” to create in its place.

It turns it into a vivid and detailed reality by imagining it as an actual reality that already exists. It embellishes it with intense sensory attributes that act to naturally invoke very positive and pleasure oriented emotions. It forms in the mind’s eye the solution to the problem, rather than the problem itself. Pleasure produces desire, and desire is a gravitational force that seeks to unite with the object of its desire. Pain, suffering, and stress cause us to repel, avoid, and move away from whatever is causing the pain. So solutions and whatever it is we want to create in an intentional manner must be presented in a way that’s pleasurable and enjoyable. Otherwise we avoid, push to the background, and don’t take action on the very thing we say we want.

As we focus on the desired reality we want to create while forming it in our imagination as a pleasurable and meaningful experience, we program ourselves unconsciously to produce an outer reality of the same type and kind. If we communicate that to others as an emotional expression, they form the same idea in their mind and embellish it with the same emotions and sensations, and begin serving to create it as a joint reality. If we share, re-post, write, describe, draw, and act as the means for transmitting the idea that counteracts and resolves the problem, at some point in time, the problem will no longer exist because we won’t be acting to create it. Mass reality is formed through a kind of “numbers game” as the “group mind”. All true power lies in numbers.

As we produce an idea as an imagined reality and embellish it with positive emotions, we begin taking steady action towards producing it. We begin gravitating towards it and move into it where it becomes a natural part of our outer experience. We use the complementary aspect of our own mind to produce the reality of our choice, rather than allowing ourselves to be used by others. We use the masculine aspect to protect and decide what’s allowed in and what’s kept out, as the means of impregnating the feminine aspect, which acts naturally to produce the physical reality of whatever it’s seeded with.

Just allow yourself to notice that whatever you focus on, think about with intensity, imagine as a sensory reality, talk about, communicate, and share as a post, you are acting as the means for transmitting and co-creating it. You become the channel through which an idea is made manifest. Whatever you align yourself with you become “like” in essence. Whatever emotions you cultivate by how you think and what you focus on becomes the nature of your experiences of reality that serve to give you more of the same emotion.

The rational, logical, reasoning, and analytical mind is the aspect that evaluates, measures, discriminates between right and wrong, and makes decisions that are void of emotion and sensation, and therefore not “based on an illusion”. Once it decides what to create, either through a calculated decision or through a process of natural selection, it then gives the idea to the subconscious as a full sensory reality that acts to naturally elicit the emotion that will determine the nature of the experience created. It will take the emotionally intense, imagined reality, project it outwards, and systematically produce it as a corresponding reality of the same nature, feeling, and emotion. Pay close attention to what you “allow” into your imagination and what emotions you give free reign to within you, because they will ultimately serve to determine you.

How we Stay Stuck in Patterns, and How to Transform them

One of the most valuable things we can learn psychologically is to really tune into the nature of patterns. All of life operates by way of a dynamic interconnected system of patterns. Patterns are not only formed out of memory as habits or routines, but also out of how we think and reason as creative processes that form our fundamental perception of things, and as the filtering system produced by our mental paradigm which is a dynamic model comprised of correlated, congruent patterns that are constantly being developed and evolved based on our experiences and what we integrate to produce our memories. As we go through life, we’re steadily forming our mental paradigm through our conditioning and what type of dynamics we’re a part of and play a role in, that shape the way we think and perceive, while simultaneously developing and “bringing out” our own style of perceiving through the type of story we begin telling ourselves as a way of making sense of things and making them mean something. The most basic pattern we form that births and gives rise to all other patterns, is the “life theme” we develop as “our story” about things. This story emerges naturally through our conditioning out of a series of beliefs we form due to our experiences, what we start telling ourselves about them as an interpretation and thought process, and based on what we’re taught and accept as being true and real. All stories emerge naturally out of meaning, which, as children, comes from feelings. As our mind begins developing, and we begin actively creating how we experience things based on how we begin using our mind to reason, we begin constantly asking ourselves in any situation that has significant emotional impact . . . what does this mean? Meaning, which forms the basis for reality, like the mind and soul producing it, is three-fold in nature, and creates on three levels simultaneously. The meaning we give something that forms the basis of our story as our way experiencing, means something about others, the way the world is in general, and about us in relation to it. All of our “experiences”, which are self-created, don’t come from the actual events of our life, but from how we interpret those events. Interpretation forms perception, and perception “is” reality. Our reality as our experience of the outer world is formed 100% from our perception, which is a by-product or natural expression of our paradigm as our “model of the world”. A model is comprised of an infinite series of memory that are all of a complementary nature and work together faithfully to produce a congruent and consistent version of reality. The structure of our mind as a paradigm is what we can call the core or fundamental pattern that orchestrates and acts as a choreographer for systematically producing all of our perceptions and experiences. It’s what we could think of as our “parental pattern” that produces a series of smaller fractal patterns of the same nature and theme as its offspring. We never have independent or singular patterns, beliefs, or areas of our life, but rather a holistic and unified “system” of patterns, memories, and beliefs. If we try to work with a specific pattern or area of our life that we don’t like and want to change, without ever identifying the “core belief”, conditioned tendency, or habit of perceiving and thinking that’s naturally producing it, we fail to be able to change it, and even when we seem to have changed it in terms of outward appearance, it collapses back into the same pattern and tendency we thought we had changed. This is because it can’t be sustained as independent from the system that’s producing it as a natural and automatic way of thinking and perceiving. We can however use specific areas of our life and relationships as the means for identifying and becoming aware of our core beliefs and fears, where our feelings counteract our intellect and rational thinking, or where we’re aware that we’re not producing what we want to through various forms of sabotage and deep seated tendencies that are purely emotional in nature and act to magnetically pull us back into habitual patterns. Once we realize that we’re playing out the same fundamental pattern in a variety of ways in every area of our life, we can pick one to work on consciously as a way of influencing and affecting the primary, parental pattern. In doing this, and implementing the proper type of change, one that acts to modify and upgrade the entire system, we not only bring change into that one area of our life, but in the same manner in all areas of our life. It’s only by modifying our mental paradigm as our primary pattern and model, that we ‘break patterns” in selected areas, while replacing them with new patterns that are more beneficial and produce the outcome and type of experience we desire. We’re never “stopping one pattern” or quitting something, but rather changing an old pattern into a new one, or replacing something with something else. This means that it’s not enough to decide what you don’t like or want to change, but also what you “do want instead”, and what new behaviors or idea you’re going to employ in their place. When we decide to change our self and life in some way, we’re moving out of a form of unconscious and natural way of producing habitual experiences and into a role of actively creating with full awareness of what we’re doing and why. This means it requires a strong desire, steady focus, and constant effort (at first). All intentional change only comes through active use of our will and our ability to choose new options and ways of being. In the most general sense of the word, being always produces doing. All action results from our inward sense of our self. To produce an outward change, we have to work by changing the inward state of being that’s acting through a fundamental form of self-expression to systematically produce it in a habitual fashion. We don’t change the world or other people by trying to work “on them” directly, but by changing ourselves inwardly, which automatically produces how we exist in relationship to the outer world, how we perceive others (in our own image), and how we act naturally to influence them in new ways that change how they respond to us. It’s only by changing ourselves that others and the world in general appears different to us. As long as we remain the same internally, everything remains the same externally. The entire world operates according to the Law of Cause and Effect. All action produces and equal reaction of the same nature and type. To change how someone else is acting, we have to change how we’re acting to stimulate them, and how we sense and perceive ourselves in relationship with them. As long as we’re employing the same attitude, way of looking at something and behaviors, we consistently produce the same thing over and over. Learning how to Change Your Story The first thing we have to do when deciding we have to change somehow, is learn how to actively “give up” our story about stuff and form instead a desire to tell a new kind of story that changes how we experience the events of our life and causes us to feel different and “become” a different type of person as a result. Most don’t want to give up their story about things, but instead want to be validated in it, and have everyone and everything else change through a form of agreeing and acting to counteract or go against instead what they’re actually the one creating. Someone who never feels “wanted”, for example, wants to keep telling that story and feeling that way, while having someone demonstrate or prove to them that they “want them”, yet their perceptual filters will always act to interpret any behavior to mean they’re not wanted. Usually of course without realizing that that’s what they’re doing, because we often don’t fully realize that we create our story perfectly through our feelings and perceptions, and only see and “experience” what matches them, and what can be skewed or recomposed in a way that lends itself to telling our story. The “feeling” that at once produces our story, creating an experience that gives us more of that same feeling, being the key component. Our story is difficult to change because we’ve built our identity out of it as how we perceive and sense ourselves, and as a result don’t know how to tell a different type of story. When we try, we can often feel awkward, unfamiliar and uncertain, in new territory without a means to navigate, and don’t know how to “be” or what to do. All behavior is learned, and with learning comes the unknown. We have to practice something before we get good at it and it starts becoming natural. Change at first feels like we’re not being ourselves, or we’re someone phony or inauthentic (to use a buzz word), and this feeling and thought is what often sabotages our attempts at change and causes us to revert back to old and familiar ways of being that are more comfortable. We don’t have to work through all of our “issues” and complexes through years of therapy and self-reflection on the events of our life, what happened to us, and why we’re the way we are, which usually only validates and strengthens them, but by learning instead how to use our creative power of choice and free will. We can produce any change we want by making the “clear and actual decision” to change, then disciplining ourselves to consistently produce and act out that decision until it becomes natural and automatic. Ways of feeling, thinking, perceiving, and acting are merely habits we’ve established as the means of producing the experience of ourselves and our life. Like all habits, they can be changed by simply replacing them with new habits. You have to want the change bad enough to do what it takes to produce and then maintain it, by deciding in a fully aware manner who and how you’re going to be and what type of story you’re going to tell by how you live your life. Changing our story doesn’t mean we form an illusion over what we imagine to be fact, or deny the events of our life that formed our memories, but rather by learning the art of transforming them by interpreting them and telling our story about them from a new and different perspective that changes the experience of them. For example, when I was a kid, one of the stories I kept telling myself was that nobody really knew me for who I am, but rather by judging me to be like my family. I had a fairly traumatic childhood, and was a compulsive runaway, living much of my life on the streets, and was used to those who tried to help me looking at me and saying things like “you poor thing”, which was just about the most god-awful feeling I ever had because it made me out to be weak and pitiful, when my life circumstances actually served to make me very strong and capable. When I became an adult, and moved to a different city where nobody knew my past or family, a voice inside me one day casually said, “ok, now you’re in a situation where nobody knows to judge you based on your family and past . . . so who are you going to be?” And at that moment, the entire course of my life changed, and I was truly in a position of creating myself, which I found exciting. I started off by vowing to never talk about my past or how I grew up with any new people, living fully in the present and giving them only an impression of what I was like at that time. I did this for years, and it became a natural way of living for me, and I quit thinking about my past altogether in the normal daily sense. I learned how to stay present and to realize in every moment I was deciding who I was going to be by how I acted and what I talked about. Later, when I was in another new environment, I decided to talk about my past as my childhood experiences while only picking the ones I could tell from a humorous and adventurous perspective. I made what was actually drastic and traumatic at the time, seem funny and exciting. I decided to tell stories of running away and hoping freight trains to unknown destinations from a perspective of “Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn”, as an exciting adventure met with constant surprises and quirky opportunities. I learned how to pick different memories to tell stories around rather than the ones I had previously focused on. I became so good at this, that my staff found them very entertaining, and on slow afternoons would ask me to tell them more stories about growing up. The point to this is that the “way” I told the stories made me feel entirely different and turned me into a different type of person. Because I imagined them vividly from a different perspective, and played them out repeatedly from that perspective, it literally changed my memories by evolving and transforming them. From that point on, every time I thought about those events, I remembered them from a new perspective, and after a while I not only couldn’t remember how I experienced them originally as a little girl, but got to where I no longer felt like that little girl. She became more like somebody I knew really well and loved very much. She was no longer an essential part of me, and wasn’t the one who created the story I was still living out of as an adult. I began realizing that what tends to become our story as our “life theme” that we continue creating out of as adults, originates from a child’s perspective who is simply trying to make sense of things as best they can with the limited resources they have. As an adult I was much more equipped to tell a far more accurate story of my life based on an adult, mature perspective and mindset. One of the first things you want to notice when forming a new story about yourself and your life, is that you have many memories of your past, but you consistently pick a small handful, usually the ones with the greatest emotional impact, to use consistently to “tell your story” about what happened to you and what your life was like. You could just as easily let go of those and pick a whole new set that you use to tell stories out of (to yourself and others) that would completely change the way you feel and who you become. You can also take the same major events of your life, realize how you interpreted them at the time you were going through them to create how you experienced them, and decide from a perspective of hindsight and what they served to teach you through the realizations you obtained because of them, and (re)perceive them from a new, more mature perspective, and retell your story about them in a way that makes you feel different, and become different by way of them as a result. As you form a new perspective, you imagine it as a reality that created a different type of experience, the type you want as the means of developing yourself in that way. As you create a new experience of it, and you get it just the way you like it, you play it over and over in your mind from within the experience of it. By playing it repeatedly, in vivid sensory terms of being in the experience of it, you establish it as a new memory and pattern that forms the basis for telling a new type of story. Instead of being scared or freaked out, you can be courageous, brave, confident, or surprised and filled with anticipation as a form of excitement. Instead of hurt and feeling betrayed, you can see it clearly, read all the signs of what was going on, and realize that as it happened it had nothing to do with you, and so you remain unaffected by it. Because we’re the ones that are always creating our experiences of the events of our life, we form our memories also. Our memories become the established patterns as fully interpreted realities that provide us with instant patterns in the present to create more of the same type of experiences through similar events. As we create our experiences that become our memories, we simultaneously create ourselves by way of those experiences. All of our perception and resulting behaviors are produced in a natural and automatic way from memory. Our memories are shaped by the primary patterns of our life as our “theme” or “life’s story” that we’re always acting out and creating in some manner in every area of our life. To change a pattern as a memory, is to either transform an existing memory into a new experience, or create a new memory that you’ll use in place of the old memory that provides a pattern for the subconscious mind to act out naturally and use to produce more realities and experiences of the same nature. To create a new (virtual) memory, start by selecting a scenario or behavior in your current life that you’d like to change. Form a very clear idea of what you’d like to change it to. How would you like to experience it or behave instead? As you go over the course of events, reflecting on how it went, what your interaction was, how you felt, and what you did, form a clear idea on how you would have liked it to have gone instead, and how you would respond or interact through hindsight. Reform it in your mind accordingly, until it plays out the way you want it to. If changing a behavior and not the overall pattern as a dynamic, leave everything the same (the emotion, meaning, trigger, etc.), and simply “choose” how you would have liked to have behaved, and play that out instead as a new response to the same stimulus. Once you have it the way you want as a general flow, replay it in your mind until it’s consistent. Once it’s consistent as a pattern that can be replayed in the imagination, begin enhancing it with sensory attributes and qualities. Make it vivid, in full color, and up close (immediate). Then shape it further by asking:
  • What are you seeing (picture in detail)
  • What are you hearing?
  • What are you touching or feeling? (objects or textures)
  • Smelling and tasting?
  • How are you feeling? (internally)
  • What are you telling yourself about it (internal dialogue)?
  • Feel it as an emotional experience – as if it’s actually happening.
Play it over several times as an actual experience that’s just the way you want it, until you can recall it automatically. What references a memory in the present is whatever feeling and emotion is connected to it. In order to use it to replace another memory, associate the same feeling and emotions to it. So that anytime you’re in a situation feeling that way, it triggers that memory and you see it as a pattern for creating the same type of experience and reality in the present one. If you’re creating a brand new type of experience that you want to create, focus heavily on the feeling it gives you, and realize that brand new experiences may not come in the same way you imagine as a specific situation or set of circumstances, but it’ll produce the same type of feeling. You won’t be able to recognize it by what it looks like, but rather by how you feel when in it, having it. The appearance it takes on will be based on what’s available in your immediate, everyday environment that’s of the same nature and will naturally lend itself to co-creating the same type of experience. The reality it comes by way of will however be of the same theme, dynamic, and over-all pattern. The other thing you have to keep in mind is that you can’t inflict your will on others. If you’re not of the same will, nature, and destiny, the reality you produce that includes them will never manifest. You can’t require specific people to be a part of your memory/reality, and it can’t be an attempt to change someone else, it can only require you to change by directing your own perception and behavior. If other people are involved, they have to be archetypes only, or a representation of a “type of person” who would act naturally to create that type of experience. So “who” actually participates in co-creating the experience, and the set of circumstances it takes place in, might be quite different than you imagined, yet it’ll be the same “type” of experience. Learning how to Operate your Own Mind – The Power of Questions, Wondering, and Curiosity

We’ve all heard the saying “ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you”. But what many don’t realize is that this isn’t an inspirational saying designed to encourage, but is stating a law of the mind more as a fact in how to operate it. The brain has what’s called the “reticular activating system” (RAS) which is what “directs our awareness” and is literally “operated” by questions and inquiries of various sorts, and scans our environment looking for information that pertain to a possible answer. Questions and answers are opposites of the same thing. When the brain perceives information that may provide answers to our questions, it places our attention on them, we notice them, and we intuitively recognize them as pertaining to our questions through a form of association. These often come as insights, realizations around an idea, or as an intuitive awareness that’s a form of synchronicity.

Questions and answers are synchronized to each other, and are of the same frequency or nature. We are connected vibrationally to everything in our outer environment, and are always resonating with the information around us through attraction and repulsion. Activating same information by awakening and “vibrating it”, while having no effect on others. The heart center of the body is what connects us to our outer environment as our subconscious mind, and is what would we could call “instinctual” in nature, because it interacts with everything around us at the subconscious level. It’s always in a state of anticipation, and identifying what’s the same as we are (same vibration), and what’s not (like the immune system which is operated by the same principle and is regulated by the Thymus gland which is attached to the heart). All pertinent information from the environment (horizontal plane) that we resonate with comes into our system through the heart, where it’s distributed throughout the body, some of which is sent to the brain for sensory decoding, and the RAS of the brain directs our attention and awareness of certain aspects that pertain to the frequencies of our questions.

Whenever we wonder about something, or compose a thought into an actual question, we form a frequency that connects to the same frequency in everything around us, and sets into a motion a form of “seeking out the answer”. Even when we’re no longer thinking about it, the subconscious mind continues using it to scan and connect to the same idea in our everyday life, and when it resonates with information of the same nature, we notice it and it stands out. Sometimes we have a direct intuitive awareness of it, and realize it pertains to the answer, other times it seems like a coincidence that we’re not quite sure why we’re noticing it. All coincidences and intuitive recognition that are not investigated further or followed up on, don’t go anywhere. We have to discern and interpret it in order for it to have any meaning. We have to see it as a clue or sign of some sort and “merge into it” in order for an association to take place.

Most answers don’t come as a one-time realization, but more as one idea, that when recognized for its relevance and followed, leads to another idea, which leads to another idea, and formulates a chain-of-association that ultimately reveals the answer in its fullness. One idea or a notion often appears as a closed door, which has to be penetrated in order for the unknown to become known through observation and realization. It’s only ideas that we pursue and continuously form more questions around with every clue that lead us to actual answers that bring a full understanding. We only truly comprehend something through an experience of it.

Usually answers come that when digested and integrated into our current model only serve to form more questions, and so a single inquiry can set into motion a lifetime of learning. It’s only what we have an interest in and sense of curiosity around that engages and intrigues us that naturally forms the path of our development as a learning process that comes through direct experience. By realizing the answers in real life situations as the direct experience of them, they are automatically integrated into our mind, modifying our mental paradigm through incorporating them. All information obtained through experience becomes synthesized as memory and reforms our perceptual lens which readily “sees it” as a part of our outer reality from that point forward.

Experience, which brings self-realization, breeds understanding. What we understand through our own realization becomes known to us as an intuitive awareness. Intuitive perception comes as a knowing that seems to be an integral part of us without a direct awareness of why or how we know. It comes more in an automatic fashion. When we intuitively know about something as an in-depth understanding of its true nature, it doesn’t come by what’s communicated through its outer appearance, but is felt and understood inwardly. As we realize things through our experience of them, we realize things about ourselves at the same time, because it’s “our” realization, not one being explained to us by someone else or as an account of their experience that we substitute for our own. We form the understanding out of our own mind, and it automatically becomes a part of our mind as a new mental filter that allows us to see it as a natural part of our normal everyday perception.

Once we realize how this process works as a law of the mind through resonance (attraction), sympathetic induction (absorption), and coherence (synthesis), we can gain a better understanding of the importance of questions. Many times we ask questions whose answers would not be valuable to us in any way, or as a means of drawing those types of ideas to us by giving our attention to them. By learning how to ask pertinent questions whose answers would provide us with valuable information and resources in the practical sense of gaining knowledge that can be utilized to create in a meaningful way, we facilitate our own growth and development while simultaneously connecting ourselves to those ideas all around us.

Questions and their answers are of the same idea, and one acts to initiate the other as a pathway of understanding by merging into and becoming one with ideas in their whole form. They are of the same idea as a frequency (pattern), and answers are drawn to us through resonance, then absorbed by us as induction (experienced), and integrated to form coherence as a shift in vibration through the incorporation of new information. Anytime we wonder about something, we become magnetized with the whole idea and we set a process in motion to find the answer in everything around us. As we study, imagine new ideas, and wonder about whatever remains unknown, we draw knowledge of the unknown factors to us as the fulfillment of a wish.

The Art of Modeling – How to Consciously Create Yourself

 

Our most basic ability to create in life is our ability to self-create by intentionally developing our character as qualities and traits that produce natural behaviors. Most of us were created in a purely unconscious manner through stimulus – response as a natural part of our childhood conditioning, and we just kind of ended up the way we are, often without realizing that we can willfully recondition ourselves by deciding how we want to be, what qualities we want to develop in ourselves, and undergoing the process necessary to do it. The process of self-creation is something we’re all born knowing how to do, that usually gets “taught out of us” as we become young adults, because it comes most naturally as “pretending” and play-acting.

As children, we admire and relate to certain people, roles, qualities and characteristics, imaginary heroes, or to the characters in story books or movies. We all have those characters that we immediately resonate with and want to be like. We would then set up imaginary situations and scenarios, where we acted them out by embodying and employing the same qualities and characteristics as our favorite character. By playing in this way, we developed those same qualities in ourselves by becoming like them, by acting like them, talking like them, and taking on the same persona while engaging in the same type of activities, and so on. Because our personality wasn’t well established yet, and we hadn’t begun forming our identity, we were like fresh clay that was easily molded into different shapes. We were flexible, open to trying new things, spontaneous, and enjoyed experimenting with new ways of being. We didn’t have the inhibitions and limitations as beliefs of some form, nor the fears and insecurity around certain ways of being, and we engaged in various activities with a sense of innocence, joy, and curiosity. As teenagers, when we began developing our identity by coming into ourselves and learning how to think and make decisions for ourselves, we spent much of our time trying on different persona’s in order to find the ones that fit and that we felt most comfortable and natural with, except by this time, we were largely motivated and inhibited by other life issues and personality traits that had set in and were becoming a natural part of our everyday expression.

Yet this same process is how we continue to self-create as adults with established identities and habitual behaviors as ways of being in the world. As adults however, it requires a deliberate intention, choosing what qualities we want to employ, and a willingness to be awkward and unnatural at first (everything takes practice), and a form of dedicated discipline to consistently act them out until they become natural, built into the muscle, and an automatic part of us. We start by realizing what qualities and traits we admire in others, or want to develop in ourselves, and then we find someone who possesses and employs those qualities as part of their natural demeanor, and we study them. How are they doing it? What does this quality look like when it’s being expressed? How do they hold themselves, what postures, gestures, idiosyncrasies, facial expressions, or what are they doing with their physiology? How do they talk, what tone of voice, timing, rhythm, and words or type of language do they use? What emotional state and attitude do they embody, and what state of mind do they view things through? What are their beliefs that make their attitude and actions possible? How is it that they “do” whatever it is that they’re “doing”?

If you want to develop confidence, for example, you have to start by asking yourself, what does confidence look like? What is it that someone does that gives the impression of being confident? You then find someone you know that you feel demonstrates or comes across as being confident, and you study them. As you study them, you embody the same qualities and behaviors – straight posture, relaxed demeanor, eye contact, tone of voice, etc. – and you practice being like them. You don’t have to worry about appearing to “copy them”, because imitating simply provides a pathway for your own style to emerge naturally. Once you get the behaviors down and can “be” that way yourself, then you practice being that way throughout your day just as a general way of being. Practice it repeatedly and in as many situations as you can, until it starts feeling natural and you start doing it automatically or it starts becoming a natural way of being in all situations as a personality trait.

What you’ll notice is that just by changing your physiology to match theirs, you “feel different”. You sense yourself in a new way, and your outlook and perspective changes. You create an experience of yourself as being confident. You come to know what it means to be confident as an actual experience of yourself. As you begin experiencing yourself in new ways, you become associated to that way of being, and you begin identifying with it. You know what it means to feel confident through the experience of pretending to be, and you become it. We become whatever we pretend to be. By modeling behaviors, we simultaneously change our perspective, how we look at and approach things, how we feel about ourselves, what we tell ourselves about how we’re feeling, and the very nature of our thoughts change accordingly. We change how we feel about ourselves, about others, and about life in general. Life appears different to us, and we influence things in a different manner, and people start seeing us in a different light and respond to us in a different manner. As we begin creating new types of experience, we transform ourselves by way of those experiences.

In this same manner we can also transform bad or undesirable behaviors and traits, by first recognizing what they are, deciding we want to transform them, and intentionally employing opposite qualities in their place, that change not only our actions and how we interact with others, but also our mental outlook and perspective, what we see and use to create our experiences, how we form interpretations as what we tell ourselves about things and how we feel as a result. Most bad behaviors, ones that are destructive in nature, or built out of beliefs as illusions, come as a result of our conditioning or from traumatic experiences that had a significant emotional impact, which we responded to by building an illusion around as a way of trying to make sense out of it and learning how to cope with it. We establish natural behaviors through a form of training and repetition, and likewise, we can retrain ourselves to new behaviors that we associate to the same stimulus.

All reactions as automatic behaviors come through stimulus as an activating force or intense emotion that’s connected to a memory. A memory is formed as an interpretation of an event based on the emotions we are experiencing at the time of the event. This emotional state and the story we begin telling ourselves about it that made it mean something, becomes the template as a thematic pattern that becomes repeated whenever activated by the same emotion. The emotional stimulus instantly references the memory associated with it, and associates the meaning of that memory to the current situation, where the same emotion is being expressed, and we say to ourselves, “this means the same things as that did”, and we form the same basic perception and react or behave in a similar manner as a form of automatic pattern or knee jerk reaction. Habits, though they’re usually not reactive in nature, are formed in much the same way. We simply repeat some process over and over for a period of time, and it becomes habitual, we do it without even having to think about. The larger part of our everyday actions are performed unconsciously as either a reaction to some form of outer stimulus, or as a habit of some form.

So we can transform habits by first becoming aware of them, gaining a realization around them in terms of what purpose they served, and what they cause in our life as a result, and choose to transform them by replacing them with a new behavior of some form. All qualities as a state of mind and the actions that naturally come from them exist in a natural state of polarity as complementary opposites. We work to transform any quality that we’ve habituated by intentionally employing its opposite instead. Naturally this takes awareness in the mist of activities you previously did without any real awareness, and then a form of discipline or willful action in order to change. In many spiritual traditions this is laid out as a model of the seven virtues and seven vices, which give us the formula for transforming most negative and unproductive or destructive tendencies into positive, creative, and beneficial ones. For example, hatred can be transformed by employing love and understanding in its place. Fear can be transformed by employing courage, anger with forgiveness, greed with charity and generosity, and so on. Mythology also gives us a rich formula for how characters that possess opposite natures are pent against each other in an eternal battle for supremacy. These type of models provide us with the formulas and tools necessary to undergo personal transformation through use of our creative ability to choose who and how we’re going to be, then willfully act out that choice to become self-determined.

All forms of self-creation comes either through conscious or unconscious actions. We either develop in an unaware manner by how other people and situations affect us (unconsciously), or by taking control of our own mind and emotions and make a conscious decision as to who and how we’re going to be in any situation. This only comes by recognizing in ourselves attitudes and behaviors that act to sabotage our life, or that we don’t like about ourselves, and deciding to do what it takes to correct them. It only comes through an intention to work on ourselves by employing contradictory behaviors that not only require us to change how we’re looking at a situation, but require us to change how we interact with the outside world, and what type of effects we create as a result. As we change our habitual tendencies, we change how we feel and how we sense ourselves in relationship to everything and everyone else, and we literally change our mind. As we change how we feel, think, and behave, we change our reality as a correspondence. As our reality changes, the relationship we form with it changes, how we sense ourselves changes, and we literally become a different person by way of our own hand.

The Goal of Meditation – Personal Transformation by Becoming One with God

Meditation, as a practice, works off the same principles as trance and hypnosis, and serves the same overall purpose. When we meditate, we completely relax our body while withdrawing all consciousness from it, and we lose awareness of our physical existence. We calm and silence our thoughts and enter into a purely inner state that’s spacious and calm. This is the experience of rendering the conscious mind (active thinking mind) passive and latent, while bringing the subconscious into an active and dominant state. We switch roles, so to speak, of what is inherent in our normal waking state. The subconscious, unlike the conscious, acts as a passive vessel for ideas to be planted in that it gestates, grows, and brings into expression as an experience of reality. This is much like a suggestion that’s given while in a hypnotic trance that’s not resisted, but readily taken in, and allowed to take hold, then developed in the imagination by thinking about it.

The whole process of personal transformation as intentional growth and development of latent potential, comes through a form of ‘programming’ or introducing new information into the subconscious, which accepts it, and uses it to re-inform the mind in terms of our mental paradigm, which simultaneously alters how the body functions and behaves, and it becomes a natural part of our being. All energies are polar in nature as active and passive components of a single entity, and move back and forth between active and passive states. Whichever one is active, the other resumes the passive position. They can’t both be active at the same time. This same principle applies to parallel dimensions of what we call higher and lower planes, and when our mind is active on the material plane, the spiritual plane, complementary companion to the material, is rendered passive and inactive. By putting our physical mind in a passive state, it not only activates the spiritual plane of the universal mind, but becomes the receptacle for the thoughts and ideas that are transmitted between planes.

By making our physical self a passive receiver, knowledge as ideas can be directly injected into the subconscious mind. Conception takes place where we are impregnated with knowledge as a mental transmission. This acts much like a germinal process, and the idea, once planted, begins growing and budding as an adaption to the individual mind that’s acting as the means for it to express through. All germinal processes occur in the darkness as the early stages of mental unfoldment with a genesis of ideas, rather than being received in a fully developed state. Once planted, and allowed to germinate, they are developed into full ideas by the active forces of the individual mind conceiving them. We are always required to use our creative capacity of imagined thought to develop ideas as our own. Meditation polarizes us to the higher planes where knowledge comes in as an unbroken flow of information about a particular object or subject.

In purely practical terms, meditation is the only truly safe method of self-regeneration. It draws nerve energy up from the reproductive centers without any fixation of attention on the centers themselves or visualization process for intentionally drawing it up, and without any thought about sexual functions. Meditation directs the currents of solar force by acts of self-conscious attention. This forms an axiom as the fluid channel between higher and lower dimensions, and is the means through which “above” seeds and impregnates that which is below, and is the principle represented in the saying “as above, so below, in the wondrous operations of the One thing”. Meditation opens the channel for knowledge to flow freely into the subconscious mind, through what’s called the “axis mundi”, traditionally illustrated by a tubular funnel or wormhole-like tunnel, or the trunk of a tree, that connects the upper branches (air-intellect) with the root system (fertile earth) which forms as a symmetrical reflection of it.

Meditation also requires, and therefore acts to develop, intense concentration, which is a necessary faculty of the mind for the activity that leads to the discovery of difficult and elusive modes of truth. This fosters natural intelligence as the awareness of the hidden mysteries in Nature. This is how the great occult powers of the Adepts are developed through intense concentration and prolonged meditation. All innate powers of the soul are developed through meditative states that act to work directly through the subconscious mind, which is the aspect of the mind that governs and creatively utilizes the elements of the material plane to self-actualize skills and abilities through natural behaviors that are a part of our primary perception, and manifest a corresponding material reality by rearranging it through resonance.

Meditation brings us into contact with the subtle force as the strength whereby the inner beast is tamed, not by active force or willed action, but through the impregnation of truth that grows inside until it ultimately gives birth. All personal expression comes through utilizing the universal knowledge of archetypes and embodying the proper states of mind necessary to fluently express in the outer world as an ‘original idea’. Meditation unveils the mysteries of Nature to the enlightened seer, by revealing the inner nature of things that’s producing the outer appearance and motivating the behaviors it naturally displays. The active force of the self-conscious mind (thinker) in a passive state becomes the witnessing faculty of the mind, and doesn’t exert an influence or control over incoming information, but merely “watches it” as it spontaneously unfolds before it. In this way, we act to receive knowledge that we are entirely unaware of in the normal sense, and are educated from purely internal sources instead of external ones.

Meditation is symbolically represented in Spiritual Sciences by the 8-pointed star, which forms a wheel, circle, or sphere that’s the symbol of spirit. The form the ideas take on and play out resembles a clear essence as the substance of stars which is a translucent, gaseous fluid of an almost ghost-like nature. These impressionistic images, often resemble the ‘nebula’ in space that accompany star-systems as their raw emanation and ultimate substance that’s ‘charged’ and coagulated to take shape as various life-forms. Often we have the “experience of seeing”, even though there’s no actual (material-sensory) image. Sometimes actual forms are not involved at all, and it comes as more of a silent knowing that shows you something about and idea or object you didn’t know before.  Much like a deeper form of thinking that’s penetrating and feeling oriented. In all of our creative work we’re working with an actual force that has definite forms of expression, and meditation modifies and transmutes this cosmic energy into physical expression. This energy comes into expression as a nerve-force that stimulates the body, altering and producing a personal expression of a distinct character. This control of nerve-force works through the seven inner stars, which correspond with the seven colors of the spectrum, the seven major metals, the seven planets of the zodiac, and the seven notes of the musical scale, infusing life with a distinct personality and set of behaviors as their mode of expression, all originating from a purified state of original ideas.

Meditation always focuses on a state of mind as a quality of consciousness that naturally undergoes modes of operation as a natural form of self-expression, and recognizes natural laws as an interconnected larger process. It works by creating the “experience of it”, so you become the vibration of it. When we induce a relaxed state and turn all of our attention inward and concentrate on inner feelings as an actual experience being produced within us, we arouse the activity of corresponding centers, without any danger of becoming energetically congested, which is what often happens when we work with our own system in an intentional, though somewhat uneducated manner. This is how we gain knowledge of the universal science from a direct and pure source, unadulterated of personal interpretation by someone else, by concentrating on a quality of consciousness as a “state”, which has a natural form and mode of operation inherent in it that ensues from it spontaneously. Out of “states” come entire realities as the expression of the characteristics it infuses matter with.  All spiritual knowledge comes in a unified form that “shapes us” (our character) by blending and becoming one with it, modifying our character to be of the same nature and therefore ideal for expressing it in the world. We acquire knowledge by “becoming” it in form (mind and body).

Meditation is therefore the ideal way to transform yourself, because the qualities you’re conceiving within you, as primal (formative) knowledge that simultaneously shapes your character, is of a pure nature and straight from a higher, spiritual source. This is the most basic form of “God’s Will be done through you”, where we put our own anxieties and desires aside, and become a neutral vessel for higher powers to work through. We consciously connect to a higher source while becoming a passive vessel for information to be downloaded into, reforming our mind through the integration of becoming one with it, and it “shapes our character” to be like it in consciousness, and out of that state-of-being . . . we naturally express and create in very specific ways.

Meditation – The Acquisition of Knowledge and Penetrating Deeper Levels of Reality

Learning how to Exercise the Powers of our own Mind

When we use the term “meditation”, who knows exactly what it means, because like all words and ideas it means different things to different people. Some perceive it as stopping all thought as internal dialogue or calming the “talking mind”, others call it blending into the void (nothingness) and emptying the mind, which is kind of the same idea, others achieve it through chanting or repeating a sound or word as a mantra (which is a basic method of trance induction); and others may be completely confused or unsure of what it means. Yet, all of these ideas are true and untrue at the same time. Meditation, which is a form of trance or self-hypnosis, is primarily a calming or stilling of the internal dialogue (self-conscious mind) as the fluttery,  jumping from one subject to the next, or the type of thought that’s automatic, uncontrolled, and runs on and on about stuff in a repetitive manner like a “broken record”, stuck on replay, and instead forms a calm and passive state of mind and through a deepened state of concentration, enters into a singular mind with the idea or concept being concentrated on. Through this single-mindedness of becoming one with an idea, we penetrate that idea or enter into it as it (resonance), giving it life inside of us by thinking about it in terms of what we already know about it, which initiates and unfolding process, much like a growth process, which continues unfolding beyond the boundaries set by our current perception, where we attain knowledge of it by simply witnessing or observing it as it continues to unfold, revealing it’s secrets to us, allowing us to “attain knowledge” by being in a passive and receptive (trance) state.

It’s only through this passive state of simply focusing on and observing an idea in motion inside of us that we’re not acting to control, that we truly learn through direct experience. Anytime we’re in a controlled state of only thinking about what we already know or believe we know, and controlling the idea to fit our idea about it, we can’t readily perceive anything outside of it. While we’re in control of our thinking, we can only perceive (produce) more of the same type of thinking. When, however, we fixate our mind on an idea, and penetrate it by concentrating on it in a single-minded fashion, stimulating it into motion within us as a kind of growth process of deepening into its internal nature, we “see” it as it actually is, apart from us (not modifying it with our active mind). As we move into it with a neutral and unbiased mind it begins moving inside of us as a living force, and begins revealing its true nature to us. We then attain knowledge of it by simply observing it as it forms and moves within our mind as a living idea.

Anytime we become fully present and engage in an activity with full awareness as concentration, free of distractions or thoughts that replace and cover over or modify our actual experience, we are in a meditative state. When we practice constant meditation by becoming fully present with what we are doing, and we become one with our experience of the present activity or idea we’re engaged in, we form realization around it that brings a new awareness of it that went unnoticed with a half-minded state of constant distraction and mental preoccupation that prevents us from being in the present. By being present and concentrating our attention on what we’re doing and our experience in doing it, we attain constant realizations that eluded us whenever we weren’t paying attention. Many people as a general rule can spend the better part of their life never present with what they’re doing and how they’re being, but rather caught up in a constant thought process that has nothing to do with what they’re doing. Because of this human tendency to be consumed by a wandering, fluttery, spaced out mind, we can live the better part of our life from an unconscious delusional state. Because of this, we fail to learn and grow from our experiences, and simply run the same type of thoughts over and over, creating our current experiences out of delusions or beliefs of the past, and failing to learn through realization only obtained in the present.

A state of meditation, comes from our ability to control our mind, stay focused in the present, and penetrate ideas born out of our daily practices as concentration on the now. All true knowledge as an inner realization only comes to us through direct experience. It’s our experiences obtain with an open mind that show us the true nature of things. Our mind, through concentrated attention void of verbal thinking, or superimposing a belief over the present experience changing it, and simply being present with it, observing and experiencing it as it is, attains knowledge “of it” through self-awareness. All knowledge comes to us by becoming “one with an idea”, and perceiving it by being it. By being the mode through which it expresses, we perceive it “as us”. We become the channel through which it becomes realized as an inner experience or realization.

This penetrative quality of the mind that learn by entering into, uniting with, and becoming the same as (vibration, sympathetic induction, and coherence), can be easily understood through extended practices of deep concentration on an idea, free from all distractions and the need to “control the idea” with preconceived notions. By thinking about an idea with a singular mind, we resonate with it, enter into it, become the same as it, and learn about it from within it or within us. By “being the same as it” in body, mind, and spirit. By taking on the same quality and consciousness. We perceive it by conceiving of it (allowing it to impregnate us). We understand it from the perspective of being within it or having it within us, by experiencing it through our mind. In this way, all learning as the realization of truth comes as an inner process of concentrated thought which acts as a “receptor”. Our mind has the ability to enter into (sympathize with) ideas, and gain knowledge of them from the inside out. We become one with its consciousness, and understand it by observing its reality from the same mind-set.

So we don’t necessarily meditate to control or stop thinking and blend into a void or nothingness, which is only the initial stage of meditation that frees the mind from random thoughts that distract it, scattering its power to concentrate, but rather as the means for inducing a trance state that removes the conscious mind (talking mind) from its normal state of dominance, rendering it passive and inactive, and making the passive and receptive subconscious (experiential) mind dominant and active instead. Once we calm the sporadic automatic thoughts, creating an empty spaciousness as an open arena, we can introduce an idea into our mind as a kind of seed with hidden potential, and grow it by giving it our full, undivided attention. Through concentration we penetrate it, activate it, become the same as it in mind and body, and gain realization of it by being one with it (within us). We gain “knowledge of it” through the self-realization of being the same as it. Through focused concentration on a single idea for extended periods of time, we know it inside and out, and it becomes a permanent part of us. We incorporate it into our mind (paradigm) as an experience, which becomes memory. Once we form a memory of it as a direct experience of it, it can be recalled and referenced, and exists as an inherent and natural part of us. We only “attain” knowledge, as self-knowledge through exercising the concentrative powers of our mind (will).

By concentrating our attention on an idea, becoming one with it, we become the same as it, vibrate at the same level of consciousness, and readily perceive that same consciousness of the idea in everyone and everything around us. Once we “know and understand” an idea, it’s fully integrated into our paradigm or mental structure, which forms the lens and filtering system that we look through to perceive everything else. Once we know by becoming the same as, forming a memory of it as our soul’s structure, we resonate with that idea, no matter what form it takes on in everything around us. It becomes a natural part of us and helps form our understanding of everything else. Our experiences become memory which inform us by giving us instant interpretations of what appears to be random information (organizes everything into coherent patterns). Once we attain a memory of something, the knowledge in that memory remains apart of us and is instantly recalled and associated as a part of our normal mental processes of perceiving ourselves (the same structures) in everything external to us. Meditation is the method of learning through direct internal experience of the internal nature of the idea itself (soul-to-soul), where we become fixated on, and experience it from within us as an inherent part of us.

Our Thoughts Create our Experience of Reality as a Personal Delusion

Many of us have heard about the true power of our own thoughts, which become expressed through talking, and the power of talking to direct the thought processes of others, but we often still don’t know how to bring this knowledge into practice within our daily life in order to become more self-aware. Words are representative of ideas, and when thought or spoken, create whole imaginary realities out of them. How we talk, or the type of stories we’re always in the process of telling through expression of our character and how we’re being, is the expression of the same ideas we’re always dwelling on internally, and the same ideas and stories we’re always telling ourselves as a way of making sense of things, that give, what is in fact “neutral events” or circumstances “personal meaning”. The meaning we give things, not only means something about others and the way life is in general, but also means something about us. We’re not only the storyteller of our own life, but we’re also the main character in our own story. The reality we create by “how we think about things”, and what dramas and dialogues we naturally participate in co-creating, act to shape “who we are” and how we’re always “being”. We’re not only the sole creator of our life in terms of how we experience it by what we tell ourselves about it, but we’re simultaneously creating our “self” by way of our own thoughts, inner imaginings, and outer expressions.

While we’ve heard the fact that we “become what we think about”, so much of our feeling, thinking, and imagining is unconscious (not directly aware of it) and automatic, that we often don’t realize that we can in fact learn how to take control of our own mind, deliberately direct our attention, and become fully aware of what we’re acting to create, not only in our self and our own life, but also in the life of others. Even when we set and intention to become more self-aware, that awareness comes and goes throughout the day, and we can lose track of it almost entirely once we go out into the world and begin interacting with others and functioning in a role of some kind. We spend far more of our time engaged in unconscious thoughts and behaviors (automatic) than we do in a direct awareness of what’s happening and what our part is in co-creating it. Once we become triggered to fall into reactive behaviors, we lose all awareness and fall into habitual states and tendencies. Many people can spend the better part of their day, or entire life without any real (direct) awareness of the activities of their own mind and how or what they’re thinking about, and why.

While most think of communication as something we do with others, the fact is we’re always engaged in the process of communicating with ourselves through our own internal dialogue, as well as receiving communication from purely invisible sources that came as insight, intuition, and inspiration of some form. Thoughts as mental impressions are always being transmitted in the space around us, and we “pick up on them” as “popping into our mind”, or coming to us in a natural way that we mistake for our own thoughts, and don’t realize that we’re “receiving” them from others as a subconscious form of influence and suggestion. When we’re picking up on thoughts from our immediate environment, they come more as feelings that form mental impressions as an inner imagining of an idea or scenario, which comes to us in a spontaneous and subtle fashion. Because we’re only capable of “receiving” thoughts that correspond to our own natural style of thinking through a basic form of resonance, these thoughts seem natural to us and so we perceive them as being our own thoughts.

Subconscious forms of communication don’t come as “words” or talking, which is a product of the conscious mind, but come as feelings that form impressions much like we experience a memory. It comes as “playing an idea out” in our mind, or as observing it as a reality of some sort that stimulates a natural thought process in us as a story we start telling ourselves about it. The nature of the story we’re always in the process of telling is our “fingerprint” or personal style, and modifies the basic idea being received to conform to our style of thinking. The thought transmission acts more as a generic or universal idea as a kind of seed or potential for thought, that spawns a whole unfolding in our mind as a living reality of some sort. As we “receive” the idea into our mind, we “blend with it”, and transform it accordingly to produce a personalized version of the same idea. So we don’t “think” the same thoughts of another, but rather think the same “type of thoughts”.

We also act as a receiver for what we can call “higher forms of knowledge” that come as an intuitive (intimate) process also, that involves more of “hearing a voice” talk to you about something, and though it’s your own inner voice, it’s being used by a different authority. It’s always telling you things, or showing you things that you don’t have any way of “knowing” through your own experiences. These thoughts come more as a form of teaching, revealing, or guiding. It’s never demanding, forceful, or acting to “tell us what to do”, but simply guides us by revealing the true reality behind things, directing our attention to something that we’re not seeing on our own, or gives us a preview of what’s to come through the activities we’re engaged in, while always leaving it up to us to make up our own mind about it. This voice always has our best interest in mind, works for the good of everyone involved, is never about material ideas or desires of some sort, and never preys on our emotions, but instead invokes in us a sense of wisdom and all-pervasive knowing. We communicate with this same source through a constant form of prayer, as well as through our general thinking. Our thoughts as our internal dialogue “is” how we communicate and interact with the invisible, spiritual world of pure ideas. So we are constantly engaged in multiple forms of communication between multiple dimensions at any given moment in time, and form what we call our “reality” out of this interlaced matrix.

While we are somewhat aware of our thoughts in the general sense, because we’re always fully “within” the reality of our own thoughts as a storyline (illusion), we can’t really see them for what they are in terms of viewing them in an objective and detached manner. We often don’t realize that our “story about things” is purely a self-created idea, and we are the “only ones” who see and experience things through our own story about them. Many think that what they’re “seeing and involved in” is a neutral and objective reality that everyone is seeing equally. Yet nothing could be further from the truth. Even when we do gain a flash of realization about how our own mind is acting to create our reality, and we see something about ourselves that we “don’t like” or we realize that it may actually be something we’ve made up, we immediately go into the mode of justifying our right to feel that way, or why we’re telling that story (because it’s true), or explaining our point of view, and so on, even to ourselves! We figure that if we can explain it or justify it, then we can make it true and real. And because we’re “living out of this story” and have built our identity with it (become the character of this story), we don’t realize that it’s actually our mind’s ability to create realities that become delusional. We fall victim to our own minds creative abilities because we’ve spent our whole life subject to our own internal voice as our thought processes that are always interpreting the outer events of our life to give them the same meaning and tell the same type of story about them. Most, honestly don’t realize what they’re actually doing, and this subliminal mental power that they possess.

One of the easiest ways to begin becoming self-aware and to begin understanding how your own mind works, is to develop the process of self-reflecting or introspection. It’s easier to start with ideas that don’t have an emotional charge, or that we don’t have strong “needs” or desires invested in, because nothing causes us to go more unconscious than reactive and need-fulfilling tendencies. We can sit and relax, or simply relax while engaged in some activity, and let your mind “think” whatever it naturally thinks, without trying to control it, stop or divert it, or go into defending it somehow, and move into a detached, dissociated position of simply observing your thoughts as if another person watching them. As you listen to your story about things, simply become aware of what it is. View it without any form of emotional reaction to your own thoughts. As you do this, allow yourself to realize that “how you” reshape reality as an experience of it comes by way of your perceptual lens that “interprets” neutral ideas through a story that forms how you “experience” it, rather than “as it actually is”. Our mind doesn’t manifest or create the outer elements themselves, but rather reorganizes them into new compositions as an adaptation to our story-line. Our mind creates personal versions of a neutral outer reality by the story we tell ourselves about it. This story-line as a “theme”, is the vibratory frequency of our mind that reorders the elements of the outer world which contains the potential of “all vibratory frequencies”, into a new and variable pattern through resonance. It (our mind) only “sees” in everything else what matches it in terms of its natural expression as a frequency that has a distinct pattern or template inherent in it, that selects (chooses) only relevant items necessary to shape into its story, while ignoring or failing to see (doesn’t resonate) with anything that doesn’t, or that would act to contradict it. As you form realization around the “theme” of your story, allow yourself to simultaneously realize the true neutrality of the situation by releasing all attachments to it, or without “needing it” to be something specific.

As you gain self-awareness in common moments that don’t have strong emotions attached to them, practice this same process for areas of your life that produce a reaction of some sort in you. Again, let the idea play out naturally without trying to alter, control, or prevent it, and simply become aware of what story plays out in your mind about or around it. Allow yourself to notice that the type of story you tend to tell is formed in the most immediate sense out of the emotional state that you employ while “thinking about it”. Thought and emotion are always married, and emotions have distinct realities inherent in them as the outer experience that expresses the emotion and creates the experience necessary to sustain the emotion or give you more of it. Our thoughts as sensory ideas form the elements of our story, while our emotions are what “shape” the nature of the story we tell that gives it meaning or makes it significant (to us) somehow. As you become aware of how thought and emotion are always working in a complementary fashion to form how you shape and experience your outer reality, gain a sense of the emotions you tend to employ as a general rule. As you become aware of this, and while still embodying that emotional state, allow a chain of association to form of memories that are also associated to this emotion that act to tell the same type of story. As you become aware of his . . . . Just sit with it while concentrating on it, and allow whatever realization to come while continuing to observe them from a neutral and detached state.

As you begin practicing various forms of self-realization into the workings of your own mind, you’ll simultaneously start understanding how your mind works to create the “illusions” of reality that you’ve formed your self-belief out of, and mistook for being “real” and “who” you actually are. You can begin realizing how you’ve lived out of what has been primarily a delusion of your own making, which resulted from your inability to take control of your mind and intentionally direct it. We can only work with what we have a “working (conceptual) understanding” of. Once you become aware of your own mind’s ability to create fantasy based realities through a theme as a story-line that reshapes everything accordingly, you can begin realizing how you’ve developed your sense of self based on this delusion, and you can decide to let go of your story about things, and begin telling a new story that’s produced from learning how to operate your own mind intentionally, direct your own thought processes, intentionally employ positive emotional states, and mind what you say or talk about to others.

What we talk about brings an internal thought-idea into the external world as a projection. What we communicate outwardly reveals our thoughts and life story going on inwardly. What we say, or speak outwardly, directs the minds of others to think the same type of thoughts, invest in the same type of realities, and form an impression of us in terms of what kind of person we are. Anything you “speak” you create in the outer, material world. You give an internal idea life outside of you. It reveals how you’re interpreting everything in the outer world from your internal perspective to tell your story about it. It shows what “type” of reality you’re invested in, conditioned too, and what pattern you act to naturally create as your natural self-expression and influence over others. By recognizing your own life story as a theme, and how you’re always perceiving out of that theme to reform objective reality into a personalized version, which makes you into a certain type of person by way your own story, you can gain awareness of your souls vibratory frequency, and the creative process necessary for transforming it.

Intuition – Inner Knowing and Awareness of Spiritual Energy

Our intuition isn’t necessarily a skill or tool that we use at will, although it can be, but comes more as a basic way of perceiving and interacting with the world around us. It comes as feelings about things as a direct experience where we know about something without a logical basis for knowing or without learning about it through our life experiences. It comes more as an inner knowing, that’s connecting with the inner nature of everything and everyone around us. It’s more like a soul-to-soul recognition, that penetrates and sees into matter through the mental atmosphere around something that it’s acting to emanate. Our soul, which is synonymous with our mind, operates out of “inner senses” or spiritual qualities that sense the “inner quality” about things and ideas. It sees through matter to the spirit or quality of consciousness that’s embodied in matter, and expressing through it as a kind of personality or quality of being. We can directly sense and interpret the feeling attitude that underlies and forms the behaviors being expressed. What we experience intuitively doesn’t have anything to do with the outer appearance of something or how it’s being presented in terms of outward appearances, but always senses the motivation and true intentions by the feelings we get when in the presence of their energy.

This ability to communicate soul-to-soul and experience the true inner nature of something as inner resonance of some sort that either harmonize with their outer expression (appearance), or contrasts it, is how we recognize congruence as integrity, or a lack of it, that attempts instead to hide its real nature and intentions. Through this “inner recognition”, we can also learn to tell true knowledge from false ideas. We can know what’s real and what’s not, because intuition “about” something doesn’t operate out of logic or rationalizing, but out of the universal laws that are based on form, function, and order. Qualities of consciousness, which stimulate us through feelings and emotions, always reveal the psychology or idea being played out. The quality around something as the feeling we get from it, tells us whether or not it’s true, right, correct, honest, and so on. Again, this doesn’t come to us through a thought process about it or our own internal rationalizing, or whether or not we can explain it from a concept of it we’ve formed in order to somehow prove it, but rather as a clear feeling of knowing without knowing “how” we know, that either makes the idea compelling and we move deeper into it, or make it repelling, and we disconnect, change our focus, and move away from it.

The question then becomes, how do you know the difference? How do you know whether or not you’re simply processing and perceiving things through your personal model, and either approving or disapproving of them based on your ability to logically understand it, or where you can’t explain it exactly, but you simply know it to be true, or acting as a form of inner guidance that’s designed to either move you into ideas or away from them. The real illusion often lies in the fact that while we think our ability to logically explain something or form a working concept of it is a good way to tell if it’s true or not, we’re always using our own “model of the world” to perceive and interpret ideas, which, chances are, is built out of a massive collection or errors that’s only capable of discerning through the same errors that we’re mistaking for truth or facts.

We’re always using what we “already know” to interpret everything else in order to “know it” by being able to perceive it through our current level of understanding. So anything that can’t be perceived through the same set of errors, can’t be meaningfully interpreted or “validated” as true using our model. Intuition, which is the perception of truth as laws operating within an idea, can be felt and known, without being able to explain or reason as to what you know and why. Because it perceives the inner nature and workings of people, things, and situations, as a recognition of their mental, energetic atmosphere, it’s always recognizing the truth of things. As soon as we try to explain why or what we know, we begin reshaping it to resemble the errors of our mental model, which is constructed primarily out of what we’ve been taught by others, and accepted as true, that we incorporated into our belief-system which becomes our perceptual lens.

As we come across “truth” as knowledge of some sort, using our intuition, which recognizes only the laws involved, we can tell by how it makes us feel in response to it, whether or not it’s true. All knowledge comes to us through a form of “seek and find” method as a pathway to knowledge or a chain-of-associated ideas that involves a kind of research as a form of treasure hunt. A search where we first have the desire in us for the knowledge as a form of connection, curiosity, or fascination, which involves us in the consistent activity of searching it out. We’re always noticing it and looking for it somehow. One avenue becomes an open door that feeds our curiosity, engrossing us with a deeper sense of fascination, wonder, and awe, and we find hidden clues within it, that when researched lead to whole new ideas of a similar nature that propels us on through an ongoing quest for knowledge that can often last a lifetime(s), never really subsiding or leaving us, but only taking us deeper into it while expanding the breath of knowledge attained through its interconnectedness to everything else.

It becomes, as the saying goes, “how far down the rabbit hole do you want to go”? Knowledge exists as layers that all interpenetrate each other, and form new insights through the incorporation of knowledge that modifies our paradigm, allowing us to see new things that we couldn’t see before. Through consistently evolving our mental paradigm through integration and synthesis of new types of information, we begin seeing life in a brand new way, and can readily see things that eluded us before or that we resisted and posed ourselves against as a result. Our logical, rationing ability as a way of interpreting things, is a produce of our mental paradigm

Intuition is how we perceive the world around us through its interconnection and wholeness. It’s the ability of the soul to penetrate matter and see directly into the spiritual essences of things as their “inner” nature. This same penetrating ability allows us to recognize the truth in all things, regardless of what the outer appearance or staged behavior is. Intuition moves us into things through an inner connection with them. It allows us to see the truths that reside in any idea or branch of knowledge produced by an individual, where certain aspects become illuminated with a sense of gravity towards them, and provide us with the seeds to continue our investigation allowing a whole series of interrelated idea to start unfolding, and we step into their secrets, wide eyed and filled with a sense of anticipation. Intuition makes learning a passionate pursuit where we learn about ourselves through the experience of learning about everything else. All learning becomes a personal journey back into the essence of who we truly are. We only “know” everything else as an “inner knowing” or form of intimacy (into me see). One produced by our authentic self in relationship with the authentic, though hidden nature of everything else.

The Importance of Working with an Ideal – Creating a Vision for Your Ultimate Development

        While many of us have been trained to the idea of creating a vision for our life in terms of lifestyle, professional career, relationships, health, etc., few of us embrace the importance of forming an “ideal” of ourselves in terms of self-development or spiritual realization. Yet, the interesting fact that many fail to realize is that all other goals as activities or accomplishments of our life, depend on our personal development for achieving in a natural and automatic fashion. Our “life” is created out of our “self”. We are the creators of our life as a fundamental form of self-expression. By changing ourselves and acquiring new abilities, all other areas of our life change accordingly. If we try to change “areas of our life” without changing the part of ourselves that are naturally producing it, we struggle, become frustrated, and usually fail in the ultimate sense, often, without ever knowing why.

Another “fluffy comment” that’s popular these days is the idea that you’re “perfect just the way you are”. This idea is usually addressing various forms of judgment from other people, or self-esteem issues around “not being good enough”. Yet self-perfection, as a personal “ideal”, which is the ultimate and only real spiritual goal, is something we not only decide for ourselves, but are also fully responsible for executing. Nobody can develop us for us (intentionally), just as no one can heal us. All healing and self-growth is something only we can do for ourselves by how we use our mind to control our body, our behaviors, and activities that we naturally engage in. In much the same way we create a vision as an ultimate outcome, achieved through systematic steps and stages as goals necessary for achieving the outcome, we create an “ideal” of ourselves as “being the best we can be”, then aspire towards it by intentionally developing latent potential, healing emotional and psychological issues that prevent it, or being the way we want to be in terms of character and quality of consciousness.

Perfection can be thought of as taking an idea, and turning it into the ultimate form of that idea as an “ideal”. Perfection is whatever perfect means to us. No one else can tell us what perfection means, or what qualities we need to develop in order to be perfect. Perfection is a standard or quality of being. Our concept of self-perfection as our “ideal self”, is something that we must soul search in order to realize, then want it bad enough to devote ourselves to doing what it takes to become it. Our personal ideal has nothing to do with material possessions, wealth, status, or creating a self image that we portray to the world as a false image of how we’d like to be seen by others, but rather as an essential part of our true nature that’s developed internally, that becomes a natural part of our being. It comes by developing qualities that evolve our character to a higher level of awareness and self-control, which forms the foundation necessary for a whole series of positive changes to take place automatically as the natural offspring of new qualities of consciousness. The most natural way to create in all areas of our life, is to start by consciously creating our “self”. Out of our self, comes everything else in an effortless and spontaneous way.

In many of the spiritual traditions, which are all focused on self-development from a moral perspective, they provide a system of understanding qualities of consciousness as possessing opposite yet complementary aspects of each other as vices and virtues. Vices are poor character traits that form weakness that lead to various forms of addictions and moral degradation, and are predominantly destructive in nature. Virtues are positive, opposite qualities of vices, which provide the means for transforming them. Virtues are qualities of higher levels of consciousness that are strengths, lead to growth and nourishment, and naturally produce very positive and constructive results in all areas of your life. Virtues are loving and unselfish in nature, and act naturally to produce a sense of harmony, pervading contentment, and happiness not only for ourselves, but for everyone involved. Virtues expand our awareness and increase our ability to both give and receive higher forms of knowledge and unconditional love.

Anytime we’re creating, we have to start with a vision of the desired outcome as an experience, so we know what the process for creating it will be. Though your ultimate vision for your ideal self may take many steps to accomplish, it’s important that you work on only one step at a time, and don’t start the next step until that one is well established and a part of your natural way of being (built into your subconscious). One of the ways we set ourselves up for failure, is by trying to take on too many things at one time creating a feeling of being overwhelmed and therefore struggling, or by scattering our energy in too many directions by trying to do too much all at once. Every acquisition of a new quality requires complete concentration and devoted practice over an extended period of time in order to “build it into the muscle”, where it becomes a natural way of being that no longer requires conscious effort.

Even with concentrated effort and a strong sense of discipline to stay with a task over a long period of time, you’ll relapse many times throughout the day by falling into habitual patterns that are well established and forgetting what you’re doing. This is natural, and when you realize you’re off task, simply re-center (remind) yourself in your desired intention, refocus your mind and adjust your mood, and continuing practicing. Repeatedly bring yourself back anytime you forget, and continue practicing without getting discouraged, and the new quality and behavior associated with it will begin taking hold, and you’ll be able to stay focused for longer and longer periods of time. All forms of intentional creation come from your ability to concentrate your efforts and stay focused on what it is you’re creating.

The approximate time for breaking one habit by replacing it with another, is forty days, or six weeks. The approximate time for simply establishing a new habit that doesn’t involve breaking an old one, is three weeks (half the time), or twenty one days, and it’s fully established (permanent) in six weeks. This gives you an idea of the amount of time you should plan on dedicating to each step of your development. You’ll also develop the ability to concentrate and stay with something for long periods of time, commit to devotional practice, and develop the patience it takes to accomplish a major feat (which a behavioral change is). You can consider your goal accomplished when you become that way automatically, and no longer have to think about it, or put conscious effort into it. All behaviors are “learned and conditioned” (trained), and likewise, can be unlearned and reconditioned. Our initial development was a predominately unconscious process, and all we’re doing here is making it a fully conscious process undertaken with a deliberate and determined attitude.

In order to realize what your ideal is, simply allow yourself to realize that an idea of who you really are, and how you’d like to be already exists inside of you as the qualities, talents, natural gifts, and interests that you naturally possess. No matter what stage of your life you’re at, you’ve only brought a small portion of your “self” into expression, while the greater part of yourself as “potential” remains dormant inside of you. Parts of you may have been developed in a negative way through your initial conditioning, which you can transform into its positive opposite quality. For example, fear and cowardice (often displayed through anger or defensiveness), can be transformed by embodying courage and bravery in its place. Hatred and a sense of animosity, can be transformed with love and compassion. Whatever is the opposite quality is what’s used to transform an existing “bad quality” or “destructive tendency”. Every “quality”, which has a behavior inherent in it, exists in a dual state of complementary opposites (sympathy and antipathy) as a positive or negative expression of the same quality of consciousness. Just as “hot and cold” are degrees of the same thing, and light and dark are degrees of the same thing, love and hate, fear and courage, humility and confidence, are all degrees of the same thing, and its opposite can be used to transform it by degrees. In order to begin practicing, start with smaller things or ideas that don’t produce a strong emotional charge or aren’t intense in nature, and are therefore easier to manage, and gradually work your way up to ideas that trigger you emotionally causing reactive behaviors.

Our state-of-mind (quality of consciousness) is created by 3 aspects that are always in-sync with each other. These three aspects are what we focus on, what we tell ourselves about what we’re focused on that makes it mean something, and what we’re doing with our body. Our physiology is a direct reflection of our state-of-mind as our quality of consciousness that we’re employing at any given moment. If you can’t control your attention and thoughts, you can learn to control your body and how you’re behaving instead. We can employ a quality by modeling the behavior associated with it. Just like when we were kids, we play acted and pretended to be “like” our favorite characters and role models, we utilize the same techniques as adults. Pretend like you’re an actor acting out a certain character within a specific role.

If you want to develop confidence, for example, find someone that you consider confident and watch and study them. What is it that they’re doing that makes them “confident”? What’s their posture like, their attitude, body language, and how do they hold themselves? How do they speak, the tone, speed or rate, and emphasis? What are their facial expressions, demeanor, and idiosyncrasies? How do they dress? Study them, elicit their strategy, and then imitate the same way of being. Practice until you feel comfortable with it and incorporate your own style into it. Then practice being that way in general. Practice it as a normal way of being in all areas of your life. Notice that when you change how you’re acting, that you experience yourself in new ways. You feel different and sense yourself in a different way. Step into the feeling and embrace it with a new level of awareness. Allow yourself to kind of fall in love with how your feeling and being. Get off on it. Allow yourself to feel empowered by it, not in an arrogant or conceited way, but in an expressive, uninhibited and expansive way. Notice the freedom it allows and new levels of self-expression that are very powerful in terms of not only the freedom you feel, but the response you get from others who are forming an impression of you and admiring you. Be an actor in your own life, and take it all in. After a while, it’ll become natural and normal.

In order to acquire a quality by practicing and becoming it in mind and body, we have to have a good enough idea of what that quality is like in terms of attitude, emotions, demeanor and behaviors so that we can practice being that way by imitating it. Don’t worry that you’ll be “copying somebody”, because the process of imitating is what allows your own style to come forth, you simply need a starting point as a kind of template for producing it. Once you begin practicing, you’ll come into yourself in terms of being that way, and you’ll produce your own unique version of it. We need a channel of expression in order to “find” our own style for doing things. Your style for “being” exists within you like your fingerprint or signature, and simply needs to be awakened and given a channel for outward expression, until you start feeling comfortable and natural being that way. Keep in mind, you always feel a bit (or a lot) awkward and out of place, or “not yourself” at first, because it’s new and you’re not used to it. But just keep practicing as if you’re an actor in the “play of your life”, and after awhile it’ll start feeling completely natural to you, and you’ll begin automatically “feeling” that way, and perceiving life from that perspective. All it takes is dedicated practice and a spirit of renewal and self-realization by bringing forth parts of yourself that up to this point in your life, you’ve never really experienced before!

“Perception as an Interpretation is a Product of the Imagination”

The imagination is the faculty of the mind that we use for creating reality as an internal experience. We first form our experiences by how we imagine them internally to give them meaning, which restructures them by the story we tell ourselves about them that turns them into a reality, which forms how we remember them, and is also used to recollect memories and think about them by replaying them over and over in our mind. So we’re always in the process of creating memory by how we imagine our reality creating our personal experience of it by the story we tell about it, and then by associating our present reality to the memory of the past using it to shape the present to be about the same thing, forming it into the same “type” of story. The story we tell about things, which forms a kind of theme, is what gives our life consistency. Our life’s theme as the primary story we tell about things comes from how we’ve created all our experiences by telling a consistent story about them as a kind of theme. This memory making ability as a form of multiplying and reproducing thematic experiences shaped by meaning and significance, are all done by how we (re)imagine the outer world by shaping it into a consistent storyline.

 
As we go through our day, we are constantly forming associations to memories and using those associations to form similar interpretations of the present. The themes of the past become the program that utilizes our creative imagination with its primary pattern for creating a thematic reality while simultaneously creating ourselves by identifying with our own story about things. As we tell a story about things, we get a sense of ourselves by way of that story, and form our identity out of it. Our identity and the story we act naturally to tell by how we interpret the events of our outer reality is a primary function of the imagination. Our imagination forms our perceptual lens and determines how we see things, and what we see “in” things. We can only see and make sense out of what matches our mental model, and can easily be turned into our story about things. Even when they actually have nothing to do with us or our story, we translate them to mean the same thing. In this way, we’re always shaping other people and events to be “like us”, through the story we tell about them which describes them using the same qualities that we ourselves possess.

 
Just as creative ideas are also received by and formed in the imagination, all memory is replayed and constantly being modified in the imagination. Each time we recall a memory as an association to the present, and use it to shape the present with the same meaning, we also modify the memory by adapting it to a new set of circumstances, and permanently alter it by doing so. While many of us believe memory is accurate and fixed and that we remember them exactly as we created them, and that we recall them in the same way we formed them, in reality memory is constantly being evolved through how we adapt them to the present situations, our maturity level, and our state of mind when applying it. Though we apply memories to an infinite number of new situations as a means of shaping them into congruent experiences, the theme of the memory remains intact and holds true no matter how we change the telling. So if the meaning as a theme of our memory is “I’m not loved”, and the memory becomes a sort of template as a storyline that provides consistent evidence of this based on how we interpret things, then even when we use the same memory in the present to tell the same type of story about it, and we change “how” we tell it, it’ll still “mean” we’re not loved.

Our imagination is the primary creative faculty of the mind that’s used to create our personal experience of an outer, objective reality, making it into a subjective “inner reality” as a personalization of a universal theme. While we all share and have in common the outer reality as a neutral set of events that we experience, each individual sharing the same outer event is creating a unique experience of it by how they filter the event through their paradigm as their perceptual lens that forms it into an interpretation as a variation reshaped to tell a somewhat different story using it. Each person notices different things within the situation, places a different emphasis on them, and organizes them into a new pattern that uses only some of the elements available that lend themselves to telling a certain kind of story. Any element that doesn’t match their storyline, isn’t “seen” (noticed), or is completely ignored, abstracting instead only what can be readily used as the elements of their life’s theme. Through our life’s theme, we form our life’s story, and we not only shape ourselves by way of that story, but shape everyone else by way of it also. Because of this “perceptual lens” that we look through to interpret the world, we shape everyone else to be “like us” and have the same qualities and character that we have, which is necessary to keep telling our story about things, and is the story our mind is designed to tell by how it’s structured. Our mind doesn’t have the ability to perceive things in a different way which is necessary in order to tell a different kind of story.

 
Because of this natural tendency of the human mind to create out of accumulated memories of it’s own making, the imagination, which also has the potential to be able to shape brand new perceptions of reality never experienced before, or as a unique interpretation of the present that’s not based on the past, it’s used instead to repeat the past and maintain redundant patterns that keep it locked into it’s own illusions. The imagination is usually used instead to simply relive whatever we’ve formed a memory of, whether through a living experience, or something we fantasized about, or imagined as thoughts being given to or taught to us by others, and while it still “creates” to a certain extent, it doesn’t create in the sense of being able to determine our own feelings, thoughts, and imaginings to perceive the present as dissociated from the past, and be able to create ourselves in new ways by learning how to tell new stories and evolve ourselves according to those stories.

 
Karma, which is living out of the same thematic forms of memories that recreate the same type of dynamics and behaviors over and over, prevents us from evolving in any measurable form. Instinct, as memory that produces automatic behaviors, is the product of the “lower mind” that we share with the animal kingdom, which lacks use of the higher mind and the ability to create in new and unique ways. Evolution within the animal / physical plane takes eons to produce the smallest of changes which usually come through a form of mutation, or freak accident. We as humans are born with a higher capacity to create ourselves and our reality by how we use the creative capacity of our imagination to break the patterns of memories and form whole new perceptions instead that serve to reshape and evolve our mental paradigm as accumulated memories to new and higher forms of experience. We are not bound to simply living out of our conditioning, but can “choose” to develop ourselves in an intentional and deliberate manner by simply choosing to begin telling a new kind of story that will require us to use latent qualities that will transform and evolve our character to new forms of expression.

This creative ability of the mind is the masterful use of our own imagination to let go of our attachment to our “story about things”, and our identity that formed as a result of our story, and make a conscious decision about the type of person we want to be instead, what qualities we’d have to embrace and bring into expression in order to do that, and what kind of story we would tell by how we acted and lived our life as a result. We can then practice forming experiences of ourselves “as” these qualities and employing these characteristics by imagining them and “acting them out”. Practicing “being that way” through a form of pretending and rehearsing where we get good at forming our new behaviors and practicing them repeatedly to the point where they start coming naturally. We can also set rules for ourselves through a form of moral code that we hold ourselves to that prevent us from repeating and continuing to live out of undesirable perceptions that form us according to them. One of the most standard practices for doing this is to recognize our negative traits and vices, and what positive trait and virtue we’d like to employ instead, and make a conscious effort to transform them using our will. Our will is our ability to first imagine something inwardly then act it out outwardly. In this way, we become self-aware and take the necessary steps to begin creating ourselves with full awareness of what we’re doing and how we’re being.

 
To employ any new idea, first decide you’re going to give up the old behavior and your attachments to it, then simply formulate in your imagination creating a reality out of it, apply it to your everyday situation as an action or behavior of some sort, then imagine the situations that normally stimulated the “old behaviors and attitude”, and systematically employ the “new behavior and attitude” in it’s place. Practice this over and over until it starts becoming natural and easy to do, while simultaneously practicing it in your daily life. By associating a new behavior or perception to the same stimulus or trigger, you don’t change anything or anyone else; you simply change your response to everyone and everything else. All change can only require you to do it. When we require someone else to change in order for us to be able to, we sabotage ourselves, and remain stuck in the same reactive patterns. All change begins inwardly, by changing your self and your perception of things, which then become the template or pathway for outer expression as actual self-directed and intentional behaviors.
